Despite him being my favorite director of all time I missed that Guillermo del Toro was directing the new Frankenstein until I saw that teaser and HOLY SHIT I am so seated.

Del Toro and Frankenstein might just be the best combination put together on this earth since chocolate and peanut butter— thematically and tonally. From the trailer alone we can see this is also going to be the first and perhaps only adaptation that is really, truly connected to Mary Shelly’s novel (you know, that invented a new genre) and it is so exciting. Not to mention not surprising with Del Toro directing— Mary Shelly’s novel is EXACTLY the kind of stories that Del Toro likes to tell.

I don’t think the Cats movie just brought the pandemic, I think it moved us to an incorrect alternate timeline.

When I was little, I quite literally couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that Nani was Lilo’s sister and not her mom— my mom had to correct me. And honestly I think that speaks volumes.

One of my favorite small details about ‘Brave’ is that the, well, brave and adventurous heroine, feels fear. We see Merida scared as a little kid, we see her feel fear on her adventure when she’s older— for example when she is quite literally about to be mauled by a giant bear (understandable).

This is so important to me. The fact Merida feels fear doesn’t negate her spirit and bravery. She’s human. As it is often said, bravery isn’t the lack of fear, but the perseverance through it.

Remember that one episode where the twins send Snotlout on a wild goose chase obtaining a laundry list of items just to get into their exclusive shelter before the Flightmare comes?

I think about that sometimes. Don’t let people use you when no matter how much you do it’s never enough. Also if I recall correctly at one point they ask for a sturgeon dressed like Stoick, their chief. Don’t remember if Snotlout somehow finds that one but either way, that is hilarious but also kind of concerning.

My favorite part of HTTYD is when Hiccup narrates how on Berk it snows nine months of the year and hails the other three, meanwhile on screen it is a beautiful sunny day.

Hiccup Haddock you are the level of melodramatic I aspire to be.
