How would you write an Izzy romance vs. a Koushiro romance?

Friend, I have samples aplenty.  It all... involves OC nonsense, however.

Izzy:

I’ll try my best to summarize my Koushiro and Izzy romantic approach/head canons beneath the cut, but my best source by far is my fics!

Koushiro:  

His love language is acts of service (“I loved her to the point of invention,” -Sarah Ruhl, The Clean House).  When it comes to courting someone, he tends to have a researched plan...  That inevitably crashes and fails at the execution stage.  

I write him somewhere on the demisexual and gray-romantic scale, meaning that it takes a long time for him to figure out that he has romantic/sexual feelings for someone.  When he does, he tends to panic, mostly due to a mixture of low self esteem (why would they like me romantically/want to date me?), knowing his social skills are poor and fearing an accidental misstep, and wondering what romance/dating even means, really.  Like???  What’s a date???  And how can he be a good partner when he often forgets to eat and sleep?!?!

When he does get past the “we’re dating now” hurdle, he is forever kind, respectful, and gentle.  He’ll never be romantic/prone to gestures or surprises, but he has ways to show that he loves someone.    

Izzy:  

Doesn’t want to be in love, denies his feelings ferociously, likely withdraws from/avoids the objects of his affection, maybe even resents them a little bit.  He used to be a clear thinker, able to focus for hours- now he’s daydreaming like a fool!  How dare you reduce me to this.  Songs for Izzy in love:  Make Me Like You, Gwen Stefani, Cold Cold Man, Saint Motel, I’m Not in Love, 10CC

I also kind of write Izzy demisexual, but...  Less than Koushiro, somehow?  Or, at least, there’s an extra (and more demanding) element of genuinely not wanting to be in love complicating things???  There’s layers, man.

If he does manage to sort himself out and accept/pursue his feelings, he... won’t be... good???  At it (courting someone).  And he’ll be painfully cognizant of that.  He’s not nearly as sweet as Koushiro, but he is witty/sassy/a lot more funny, which would attract people, for sure!

You’ll know he’s really fallen for someone when he earnestly tries to learn how to be good to them and improve himself as a partner.

I figured the digimon would already be aware of the significance of August 1 but then I had to remind myself that Odaiba Memorial Day is actually August 3, sooo... I guess that gets a pass!

Also, the production quality of this is video is really good, just thought that deserved a mention ^_^

I really enjoy watching the puppeteers’ expressions and body language too. Their faces mirror their digimon’s dialogue and sometimes they even mouth along with the words!

Like, I know she gives a serious reason for her decision, but I also like picturing her doing aaaall that sweet-talking to convince the other DigiDestined that she should be put charge of managing supplies, knowing full well she’s not going to bring anything because equipment is for weenies and SUFFERING BUILDS CHARACTER. That creates such an interesting parallel with her admiration of Taichi (editorial aside: I wish the first four Tri movies had explored the idea of Hikari distancing herself from her brother, it would have made the end of Kyousei that much more interesting!)

Tentomon: “I don’t think [digimon] grow up.” WOW, that’s surprisingly candid (and maybe goes some way to explain why the digimon have been written the way they are in Tri?) Interesing, interesting...

The kids keep saying the battles are over... it really makes me wonder when is this supposed to take place relative to the rest of Tri!

Based on Takeru and Patamon’s comments about infection, I would guess this takes place after Kokuhaku... and therefore, after all of Tri? I’m so confused!

Soushitsu commentary (I)

It feels awkward that the prologue is styled like a silent film

I knew it!!!! They were the original Chosen, Daigo was the original gogglehead

Sooo…Maki was possessed by Homeostasis. That explains why she knew what happened to Hikari

When she asked why were only 4 chosen I thought she was referring to children, then I realized she was talking about the Holy Beasts

Is she talking about the Dark Ocean? I know that the HB represent an element and a cardinal point. I want to see more of how it’s applied to what Homestasis is saying

Good, narrator is back. I think Maki and Meiko mirror each other, because “what happens to those who don’t receive that influence”. Not to mention, their digivices are different

Interesting. I don’t know too much about the RK, but from what I’ve seen in Savers and X-Evolution, even if they serve Yggdrasil they can choose what to do. If so, it’s not surprising that Hackmon went his own way

Libra? As in balance? Are you saying Meicoomon is the key to equilibrium? Evil Gennai later says he wants her to destroy the (human?) world. I hope next movie gives us clear answers about her origins and role
