oooh I love this! sorry for hijacking your post op but it's galaxy brain and I've been rotating this concept in my mind all morning 👀

Porsche never considers trying to find a Respectable Match for himself. it's out of the question because he has too much of a reputation. he's handsome and he's charismatic but he's wild. he's known for flirting and fighting and sleeping around - and that's okay for rich boys like Kinn. handsome young viscounts can bed as many pretty boys as they please before they settle down. but if you're trying to marry up.. you need to be spotless. Porsche is not spotless.

Chay doesn't want to move or marry for convenience, and he hates having to pretend to be perfect. but it's what his brother wants. it's what Porsche says is best for their family, and Chay loves his brother more than anything. he doesn't love Kinn, obviously, but... maybe he could. Kinn seems nice, and he's kind to him, and they get on well enough - so Chay is determined to make it work. for his brother.

except Porsche meets Kinn and immediately can't stand him. Kinn is rude and entitled and is sleeping around even while courting Chay. Porsche is horrified. he can't let Chay marry someone like that. but Kinn needs to marry, and Chay has committed, and this was all Porsche's idea in the first place - so he tries to step back.

this isn't Porsche's world at all, and he finds himself getting on much better with a lot of the household staff than he does with the other members of the ton. though Chan, the Theerapanyakul's butler, clearly disapproves of him, and though he butts heads with Big, Kinn's valet (ooof Big pining for Kinn when his job involves dressing and undressing him every single day 🫠) - he becomes fast friends with footmen Arm and Pol, and especially Tankhun's valet Pete.

but Porsche and Kinn just... continue to get under each other's skin. there's this underlying tension between them, and they can't seem to stop trying to one-up one another, and everything about Kinn makes Porsche's blood boil; how entitled he is, how selfish, how handsome captivating arrogant -

until they have a perfunctory dance at a ball that; pressed up against one another, close enough for Porsche to feel Kinn's heart beating in time with the swell of the music, so close that Kinn's breath ghosts against Porsche's throat as they trade whispered insults into each other's ears; suddenly doesn't feel so perfunctory. everyone's dressed up and drinking and in high spirits, and when Porsche slips away to sit by the lake and get some air, Kinn joins him. and they bicker as always, except there's a different kind of fire behind it now. a different kind of challenge. and Porsche gets up in Kinn's face and tells him he can't stand him and Kinn's faze drops to Porsche's lips. and then they're kissing. and they kiss and kiss and it's charged with a kind of fire like Porsche has never known - and then he comes to his senses and flees.

but meanwhile, Chay has also slipped away from the party. he's hiding in the library when Kim finds him.

Kim left the ton a long time ago. he's not at all interested in the weird conventions of the social season. he's been travelling the world and publishing poetry anonymously under the pseudonym 'Wik' - but he heard his brother had found a match with some nobody, and he can't let his family get conned by social climbing gold diggers - not after what happened with Tawan before. so he's come to investigate.

as it turns out Chay is an aspiring poet and musician himself - and a big fan of the anonymous Wik. so Kim, pretending to be nobody, just like Chay; a middle-class scholar and anonymous poet only invited to this grand ball out of sheer dumb luck; reveals his identity as Wik and offers to mentor Chay. and so they begin to meet to write in secret, and Kim's investigation goes nowhere, and Chay finds himself opening up to Kim, relaxing for the first time since he arrived here...

also. Vegas as Lady Whistledown lmao! though wealthy and well-respected, Vegas is jealous of his cousin's title and wants to ruin his reputation for good. so, with information sourced by his mole; Ken, a footman for the Theerapanyakuls (you know the staff love to gossip); he secretly spreads rumours and gossip with his anonymous column.

of course, Vegas also notices something is going on between Kinn and Porsche - and so he sets out to seduce Porsche. Porsche obviously has all these conflicted intense confusing feelings for Kinn, but he knows he can't act on them again. Kinn is engaged to Porsche's brother. and Porsche never thought himself capable of making a Respectable Match - but here Vegas is, and he's kind to Porsche, and is open and forward about his intentions. so maybe Porsche considers it! maybe he promenades with Vegas. maybe they're seen together a few times... and Kinn is so so jealous. JEALOUS KINN!! 👀👀

also I just need to point out how incredible regency-era Tankhun's outfits would be. but poor Pete has one hell of a job dressing and undressing him with all his layers and buttons for multiple elaborate outfit changes a day 😵‍💫

okay but listen hear me out: kinnporsche bridgerton (season 2) au with porsche as kate, kinn as anthony, and porchay as edwina. it fits too well like, the orphaned kittisiwasd brothers are given patronage by yok (in the role of lady danbury) during the social season in order for porsche to find chay a husband—also, for the purposes of this au, porsche is 25 and chay is 19.

due to porsche and chay’s piece of shit uncle gambling away their family inheritance, porsche is adamant that his little brother marry into a wealthy family to ensure his future—and the theerapanyakuls are just the right fit.

enter kinn, the viscount theerapanyakul. when he was only 18, kinn was forced to take up the role of viscount after the passing of his father (in order to relieve his traumatized older brother, tankhun, of the burden). he’s now 26 and is looking for a marriage of convenience this social season, as he has sworn off love entirely due to being fucked over in the past (cough, tawan, cough).

if you’ve watched the show, you know where the story goes from here. also, porchay eventually falls for the youngest theerapyanakul (kim), so there are no broken-hearted younger brothers to worry about after kinn and porsche finally admit their love (and lust lmao) for each other and tie the knot.
