There are many things that Pete could say led him to this point in life; from his decision to start working for the Theerapanyakul Family coven despite the vampires’ terrible reputation to his choice to volunteer himself to join the New Family coven in order to settle a debt between Kinn and Vegas.

He thought himself so clever then, some small sacrifice to avoid an all-out vampire war. It’d seemed appropriate at the time, perfectly reasonable. It was just another way for him to serve and protect the family.

He had been ready to die the instant he crossed the threshold of the new family coven. He still is.

Vegas doesn’t want him dead, though.

The light-headedness and constant coldness from the blood lost have not left him alone for days, but it fades in comparison to the pain in his chest, the long gash that Vegas made in a fit of pure anger then the eerie, pregnant silence as he observed Pete’s blood dribble down his chest and on his pants.

Pete would never consider himself privy to the complex inner working of the vampire, but he saw the signs just the same; the way Vegas’ eyes turned a deep black and glinted red, how his lips opened and his tongue darted out to wet his lips, the fangs appearing from his mouth, stark white against red.

Vegas touched Pete’s shoulder, let his hand roam towards the blood and collected it on his fingers. Pete didn’t dare to breathe, didn’t move, as he watched in slow motion Vegas bring his fingers to his mouth.

The knot in Pete’s throat doubles up and throbs painfully as he remembers the way Vegas sucked and licked the blood off his fingers, no grimace, no repulsion on his face despite Pete’s infamous bad-tasting blood.

Pete might have moaned – maybe he did – and Vegas surely noticed. His black eyes almost turned red and before Pete had time to understand what was happening, how and why, he found himself trapped between a wall and the body of the vampire, just as hard and unyielding, fingers digging into his hips and keeping him in place.

Vegas pressed his face against his neck, humming deeply, sharp teeth scrapping his skin dangerously. Pete inhaled briskly, his heart hammering in his chest, his mind going on a loop of bite me bite me bite me; as if Vegas could read his mind, as if Pete had any business wanting and expecting things from the vampire.

In pure instinct, his head dropped to the side, stretching out and presenting his neck to the almost rabid animal in front of him, a tight coil of barely contained longing, a predator on the hunt.

“Beg me,” said Vegas, voice husky and hoarse, nose pressed against Pete’s offered neck, not faring any better than his prey. “Say it Pete, tell me what you want.”

Pete becomes Vampire Vegas’ human helper. He’s the one responsible to bring food (people) to Vegas. He has to prepare it (bleed them) in a neat little glass too, because Vegas is the sort of vampire (weirdo) who doesn’t like to drink directly from his victims. It’s not like Pete (liar) wants Vegas to drink from him anyway.

Or the one in which Pete's blood tastes terrible and Vegas doesn't bite people, yet they can't help themselves. If it turns out they're deadly to one another, well, that's just another minor inconvenience.

Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Vampire, Vampire!Vegas, Human!Pete, Blood and Gore, Biting as an euphemism for sex, (unsafe) BDSM, dangerous sex practices and by that I mean deadly. Seriously. They almost die repeatedly., they're poisonous little freaks, at this point it's pretty much a death kink, death related themes, Master/Servant, KPTS Big Bang 2023, Fanart, No beta this is what happens when you finish 100k on submission night. Let's pray for this fic.
