Some of my main struggles while designing Leiko in the mha style were mostly "goddamnit why are most anime characters so generic looking." Not saying that mha is like that! It has a ton of fun and diverse designs, buuuut it does have a "standard look" which... doesn't exactly fit Leiko

So yeah, most of the struggles came from their nose and body/face type-

Leiko needs to be round! They need to have the roundest face ever!! They're also on the chubbier side but are kinda tall, so it ends up "balancing out" their proportions compared to other characters. My main references were actually Inko and Shoda from 1B because of that

And their nose... I needed their nose to be a little more apparent than canon bc... it's self care. Leiko being mixed is really important to me (+ the story), and I wanted to be able to show that off even though they got most of their looks from their dad, so I gave them the same nose as their mom

AND GUESS WHAT? I DIDN'T NOTICE IT BEFORE BUT LEIKO AND LAILAH HAVE THE SAME NOSE AS ROCK LOCK'S BABY, SO I WIN!!

I had read the webtoon and the K Drama did not disappoint at all.

We start with a comedy of errors. We continue with an identity that should not be revealed and a difficult to manage double character situation, to then arrive at... It is a hetero romantic drama after all.

The actors conveyed all the emotions required. Maybe in some moments they were stiff but that was what the story required.

I'm only sorry that I could not see the competition between Tae Moo and Min U with the chicken wings. There were changes in the plot but not substantial enough to overwhelm the story. Good like this.

A good Kdrama (a 10 really, even if maybe it's because the story is too good).

As someone w/ undiagnosed adhd (and social anxiety), my mom has finally realized that she probably has undiagnosed inattentive adhd too. Everytime I brought it up in the past on how I think I may have it, she brushed it off bc of how she's only known adhd to be characterized as (aka stereotypical hyperactive adhd). It mainly happened after I explained how it affects women differently, the inattentive version of it, how many women don't get diagnosed as adults and then played her JaidenAnimations' video on it and ugh... It feels so good to see her get it for once. 🥹

Her mother runs a bakery! Once Kyu returns she helps out every now and then!

Kyu's step-dad (Shiki's father) is a blacksmith, he learned from Oetsu how to repair and fix Zanpakuto should they need the repairs.

Yes they were both worried sick when their youngest vanished. They waited 100 years for her to come back and both of them didn't let her out of their sights for a bit even if Kyu was a teenager.

Her mother, Kanna, is a former shinigami, she resigned after an injury that left her using a cane for the rest of her life.

Kyu's actual father vanished when she was a baby. So Kyu's never really known her real dad. (Fine by her. No skin off her back)
