Sorry if this is incomprehensible tumblr ate my last answer & I was really pissed while typing the next draft

But, to summarize: I don't think people give Krane enough credit for his off-screen characterization. Granted, most of what we know about him comes from Douglas and Sebastian, who are unreliable narrators at best, but what we do know paints a horrifying picture.

For example, I've talked before about how, given that the show implies a certain degree of genetic engineering is needed to handle the strain of bionics, that fact that Krane implanted bionics in himself is. Concerning, to say the least.

What's even worse is that Douglas says (comedically, but canonically) that Krane has baby pictures in his lab. But the oldest of his army r around the same age, if not older than AB&C, & Douglas met Krane years after they were born. This means either 1) Krane has baby pictures completely unrelated to his child army, 2) Krane had & raised children of his own prior to meeting Douglas, or 3) Krane kidnapped some kids & retroactively acquired baby pictures of them.

In any case, unless he somehow made them grow faster(?), the oldest of Krane's army (possibly all of them) aren't genetically or biologically equipped to handle their numerous, powerful bionics. Think about that.

Speaking of Kranes kids, let's talk about them! We know that the Triton app "controls the bionics, not the mind/heart", and the soldiers all seem to retain some personality while under the app, unlike AB&C. Taylor has memories pre-mindbreak, so it's not too far fetched to assume the others might, too. Including Sebastian.

Sebastian calls Krane father. He also regurgitates his ideology & exhibits some classic cult victim symptoms. I mean, every member of Krane’s army is a victim of (literal) brainwashing, which is part & parcel for cults.

Cult leaders tend to be charismatic. Combine all this with other bits of characterization--going on vacation w Douglas, matching costumes w Douglas--& you get a power hungry, slightly insane man w a sense of humor. I think he & Douglas might be more alike than we're led to believe. Both have an obsession with bionics & family that manifests in different ways. Krane is just creepier & much more genocidal about it.

So basically,,, yeah there IS something going on in that bald head of his ashdk

i think we as a society don’t talk enough about leo’s trauma because my man gets his arm and his leg crushed trying to save his family and then proceeds to get teased by his family for not being bionic enough when the whole reason he’s bionic is because he was trying to save them and he got hurt and especially his leg is treated like a joke the whole time, and then he finally finds a new way to combine his and his friends powers and it blinds his friend which hurt him so much that he quit?? he spends all four seasons begging to be bionic but this affected him so much he quits, only coming back because his family is in danger (again)

THIS IS THE EXACT REASON WHY HIS AND DOUGLAS' FRIENDSHIP WAS SO NEEDED!!! IF THEY TOOK A BIT OF TIME TO LOOK INTO DOUGLAS PAST AND HOW HEAVILY THAT AFFECTED HIS CHARACTER, IT WOULD BE SO EASY TO TELL THAT HE AND LEO WOULD MIRROR EACH OTHER!! DOUGLAS, STREET TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF, WOULD BE AND TO BE THE PERSON FOR LEO THAT HE DESPERATELY NEEDED!!! THIS WOULD ALLOW LEO TO PROPERLY DEVELOP INTO THE BIONIC HERO THAT HE'S ALWAYS WANTED TO BE AND WOULD ALLOW DOUGLAS TO BE MORE THAN JUST COMEDY RELIEF, COMEDY RELIEF (EVIL), AND A SECOND DONALD!!!
