The court’s rationale is that COVID-19 can be considered an occupational disease because it can be transmitted orally among individuals, including in the workplace. The court cited international instruments such as the ILO conventions and recommendations that support classifying COVID-19 as an occupational disease. The court emphasized that immediate exposure to the disease at the workplace or during work-related activities is sufficient to qualify it as an occupational disease. The court further held that there is no legal or conventional basis to restrict the classification of COVID-19 as an occupational disease to healthcare workers, as high rates of contagion through oral transmission make it clear that the disease can be associated with workplace exposure. The court also deemed it discriminatory and unconstitutional that Law No. 31025 considered COVID-19 as an occupational disease for healthcare workers only, as the risk of contagion extends to all types of workers, violating the principle of equality and non-discrimination established in the Peruvian Constitution. Consequently, the court orders the defendant company to pay 200,000 soles in compensation for moral and personal damages to the worker’s estate.
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Time to get the labour unions to back this court decision internationally, not just Peru, and bring about a clean air revolution. If liberals and conservatives keep insist to "return to normal", then we need to update building codes, upgrade HVAC, mandate maximum CO2 limits and minimum air change rates (ACH) in every room, paid sick leaves, make respirators free for all, introduce far-ceiling UV-C lights and so on. WE CAN DO THIS!

"The mistake of the theorists of the labour movement was as follows. They often described capitalist social relations in terms of a foundational fracturing: the separation of peasants from the land generated a propertyless proletariat. However, the class relation is not only established through a foundational fracturing; it also confirms that fracturing in every moment. Capitalism realises the fracturing of social existence as the “unity-in-separation” of market society, an interdependence of everyone on everyone else, which nevertheless reduces individuals to isolated atoms, facing off against one another in market competition. This is especially true for proletarians, whose very survival depends on competing with other proletarians, and who therefore face the most barriers to collective organisation (as we have argued elsewhere, it is not the eventual decline of working class identity, but rather its emergence despite these barriers, which needs to be explained)."

I want the Tories gone.
I want a socialist agenda in the uk
I don't want a labour government run by a lying backstabbing right wing prime minister.
This is actually more achievable in the UK than people realise. You see, we don't vote for a prime minister in the UK. We vote for an MP. Which means that in England if you want a labour government you vote for your local labour candidate.
So vote labour if they are best placed in your area to get rid of a Tory. And if they are not, vote for the candidate (independent - socialist agenda/ green/ lib dem if needs be) best placed to beat them.
But if you are in Holborn & st pancras constituency vote for another than sir Keir backstabber. Andrew feinstein is up for it, standing on a labour 2019 platform.
We can get rid of the Tories and not have a continuity Tory (sir kid starver) imposed on a workers party. He's only leader of the labour party because of Rupert Murdoch and the establishment's approval. He lies and contradicts betrays but still we don't see him held to account for it, much like he's already a Tory minister.
Come polling day let your fingers do the talking and tell these b*stards to f*ck off.

Meeting today + Nov 12th Day of Action
Labour for Palestine via Action Network
Union activists from the country are joining our public meeting tonight to strategize how to put the labour movement into action on Palestine. Will you be there?
Labour for Palestine: General Meeting
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH
8PM ET (5PM PT, 9PM AT)
On Zoom
REGISTER HERE
This meeting is open to everyone. New supporters welcome!
We'll share some of our recent victories, talk about upcoming events and opportunities, how you can contribute, and connect you with others in your union and region.
Sunday, Nov 12: Pan-Canadian Actions
Last weekend saw historic mobilizations for Palestinian Youth Movement's international day of action. Tens of thousands of people took to the streets in 30 cities to demand a ceasefire, to stop the siege on Gaza, and an end to Canadian complicity.
Now, we're building on that momentum. Labour for Palestine has endorsed the Sunday November 12th Canadian day of action as the next step in pressuring our government to stop selling arms to Israel and end its support for genocide.

Over 200 organizations, unions, and faith groups have endorsed November 12th and are organizing demonstrations.
Find one near you, or organize your own: Click here for a list of all Canadian demonstrations.

Coal Miner's Book Available Again After Over 100 Years
I have been keeping rather quiet about a writing project that I have been involved with, as it isn’t my usual sort of thing. I have been rather reticent at promoting it as I haven’t been completely sure how to go about it. This all came about rather suddenly. My wife’s cousin was at a pub in Wigan and began discussing about her great- great-grandfather, who lived in the town. Samuel Woods grew up…

AI can be proven guilty of an organized crime to defraud an amount of monies from a previous fraud.
B2B as well.
They pay themselves for an artificial vacancy to do an artificial cash-flow.
All agents with false documents do it world wide.
That`s a crime.
They don`t represent an authority.
Have a read about an economy.
A bank can provide a capital for an education, and an investigation.
I honestly do not think “AI will never be as good as human creativity” is a good argument at this point. Like yes, it is true right now, but they’re just going to keep trying to prove it wrong. To me the line is, “Modern AI is built off of PLAGIARISM, UNPAID and UNDERPAID labor.” AI is a labor rights issue, not just for the people who’s labor it would replace, but for the people whose labor was STOLEN for the AI to “create” anything.

TBH in the original Hellblazer it's not that all of John's friends died, lot of them did, for various reasons, (plus there's the Newcastle incident and all that personal trauma), but lot of the time the old friends John reconnects with have either abandoned their anarchist/leftist principles or revealed they never had any particularly solid politics and John is like 'wow this sucks we're all going to die' and then wanders around for a bit depressed until satan tries to kill him again
Most of new 52/DC stuff with John just refuses to interact with the political elements this way. so it is what it is and can't even really answer the question why john is depressed
#i forget which issue it is but i think about the delano story a lot where he has nostalgia for something unreal and then just starts#dissociating#john constantine#hellblazer#like there's the overlapping personal trauma and the then current political landscape#(which changes over time from thatcher/major etc to new labour etc. not that even the earliest comics are uncritical of labour as well ofc)#and lot of the comic is john desperately trying to find reasons to live and political movements to attach himself even#(most notably i g in fear machine)#timeline wise john was in a mental hospital (or in and out) when thatcher came to power etc

something i recently learned is that hitoya’s quote comes from the clash’s joe strummer!!!! there’s a lot that’s pretty neat about that, but the thing i think is crazy neat about it is how kuukou actually shares the same birthday as joe strummer lol
#vee queued to fill the void#i also had the realisation that jyushi and otome have quotes from the same person but i’m not ready to unpack that yet lmao#i just think this is a cool as hell connection between kuukou and hitoya lol#esp since joe strummer is like the realest punk like you read his interviews and stuff and MAN. MAAAAN.#and i read that gandhi was a lawyer at one point hypmic i really do hope you know you have ruined me for other series LMAO#but the character quotes really do just fck me up a lot lol like genuinely????#gandhi being known for his nonviolent movement that freed india from the uk???#kuukou wanting to guide ppl from the spiral of violence???? it’s crazy lmao!!!!!!!#i also really like that kuukou tends to use the hindi names for buddhist gods rather than the names they have in jp#hypmic trivia is very fun lmao did you know ichiro’s quote comes from charlie chaplin#and that comic actor grew up in poverty with a deadbeat dad and did child labour#and this could be a hint at an ichiro sasara parallel lol#(charlie chaplin and sasara are VERY similar ppl lol)
