What little we saw of Aisha's form looked plain (but so did Bloom's before the zooming in and Aisha didn't get that), but also it's very sporty and very her. Love her hair and her laceup boots

Musa's feel the closest to her original look out of all of them sans her having braids now, and I LOVE her piano key wings, they're really cool

THEY STRAIGHT UP DID NOT USE ANYTHING FROM TECNA'S ORIGINAL TRANSFORMATION AND THAT IS HYSTERICAL TO ME. She looks more akin to her S2 finale outfit, which was also very good, and I love the circuitry in her hair, interesting her color seems to be dark blue now? but most importantly SHE NO LONGER HAS THE ROBOTIC JOINTS. GIRL IS HUMAN THANK GOD

The civilian looks are nice too, they feel like a modernized version of their S3 outfits. LAMENTING THE PERMANENT LOSS OF STELLA'S TAN but the 3 girls of color AREN'T whitewashed and that's what truly matters. I do love the look at Alfea and other stuff too, that was neat, I just mainly wanted to talk about the Winx lol

WOE. GHOST RIDER MAGICAL GIRL AU HELLFIRE GALA FITS BE UPON YE.

Ok so the first genre is High fashion/Familiar themed!

Robbie is in something edgy and asymmetrical. Lots of variations in texture with solid, glitter and mesh areas. A fun grungy makeup style that I thought would suit him well. The more solid areas have a snakeskin texture that I'm not sure came through in the image export sorry lol. Delicate silver pieces help to balance out the harshness of the general aesthetic of the dress. Overall tried to mimic the slithering motion of a snake with the twisting pattern of his dress materials and made it a little more obvious with the snake bracelet.

Danny's focuses on layered sheer materials. Lots of feather and wing embroidery to connect him to his familiar. Nice silver chain around the waist to give the dress some shape and structure and help separate the top and bottom areas. Leg slit to create some interest so things aren't too symmetrical and boring (also you have moose to thank for the boob window lmao). A fun little wing pendant for the back detail ties it together pretty well I think.

JOHNNYYYYYYYYYY pulled a LOT of Avril Lavigne vibes and I'm honestly not sure why. I guess I just really wanted to see in some 'trashy' Y2K fashion (trashy in quotation marks cause I think it's COOL actually) and she's the first person that came into mind. Fur at the top of the dress contrasts with the shiny/glitter material on the rest of it. White tips on the ends of his boots and gloves because of Zaradogs lil sock feet <3. A fun ponytail with some black chain necklaces finishes everything pretty well.

FRANK. DIFFICULT AS ALWAYS. HAD to include fur I had to connect him to Cat-stle somehow. Other than that his look is very Matrix inspired. Very slick and fairly practical. SPIKY ass boots and a fun laceup back add some detail to the otherwise very simple fit. Some mesh areas on the jacket also include just a little bit of variation in texture.

BALLROOM LOOKS!! We getting FANCY.

Something light and fun for Robbie with LOTS of gradient chiffon. A more solid waist wrap to help eccentuate a more solid shape for the more drifting ends of the dress. I'm a sucker for sheer sleeves brother I have no excuse.

EEEEEE PRINCESS DANNY COMING THROUGH!! I LOVE how this one came out! Fun off the shoulder moment with gloves to make sure his arms don't look too plain. Faux silver corset that dissolves into layers of sheer glittery material to form a full length ballgown with lots of nice volume.

JOHNNY YOU GAVE ME TROUBLE. Wanted to include lots of geometric shapes (moose and I looked at QUITE A FEW reference images) so I was able to fit that in with the tessellation patterns on the sleeves and mesh sides, as well as the triangular shape of the top area of the dress. Tried not to overdo the gold glitter by limiting it to a strip down the middle with longer black panels on the sides.

Frank with a VERY classic look I'm a sucker for a square top. He's also got the fun mesh sleeves, this time with some lace patterns. Layered skirt with a bit of volume and glitter ends (I'm a SUCKER for glitter ends). Vibrant red top to show off his signature color with some ribbing to mimic a corset.

AFTER PARTY DRESSES. Fuckin. Euphoria lookin ass dresses. Idk man I just love these kinds of dresses and thought I would go ham at the end for one final nonsense fun look.

well now you know I have to ask.... top 3 sunmi looks and why.....

alright so one thing you have to understand about me and summi is… i’m usually not that impressed by how they style her for like stages/mvs tbh i feel like her stylists think well she is the most beautiful woman on earth so why do we have to try so much. like she always looks stunning obviously but that’s because she is literally sunmi and the clothes aren’t like BAD it’s just usually kind of boring. the one stage outfit i remember being truly truly wowed by is the suit-adjacent vest and tie ensemble she wore for stranger promotions

it had like everything. chic, sexy, interesting, great fit, concept. but anyways other than that i really always feel like. well babes i could style her so much better! and i am always so much more impressed by her personal style. so these are gonna be some faves from the sunmi model off duty archives.

whenever she wears an oversized leather jacket i am sold tbh. like it just gets me. she already really has that specific star power to her look that i associate with certain 90s hong kong stars like joey wong and maggie cheung. and when she wears a leather jacket in that style it’s just like. that is a wkw muse. and if you know me at all well then you understand what that does to my psyche. middle outfit in particular might be my fave miyafit of all time.

this little outfit that she wore to the germanier show last spring is sooooooooooo fucking good oh my god first of all no1 beret wearer ever she really knows how to carry what others might feel silly on. and the laceup matching set is so simple but the straight silhouette really suits her and i like that it’s extremely like. almost 90s calvin klein simple but then lacing gives you that little hint of lingerie-as-fashion. i love it soooo much.

I know you did a ton of research for your fic and I was wondering if you came across much about what kind of binding (if any) existed in the 40s? Maybe it’s just me having thinky thoughts about my own gender, but whenever we see Jess just in a tank top it looks like she’s wearing something under it? Obviously could just be for actors modesty sake, but I don’t get bra vibes. And I hope this doesn’t sound pervy because i really don’t mean it to, but the other things I’ve seen Kelly in she definitely seems more full busted than jess is. So I wonder if they made some creative decisions there?

I have never bound in my life and am cis so my expertise on this is limited and my opinions prob not v relevant or interesting but here are my takes.

(You gave us (wife and i) the extremely difficult task of spending a lunch break scrolling through the entire show to stare at Jess' tits, which I'm sure you regret v strongly.)

I don't rly get the impression that Jess binds in the show. She definitely doesn't wear a bra (neither does Lupe btw) - it's clearly canon for both of them that they wear undershirts, and that's their underwear (honestly, bring this back. Why did we stop wearing undershirts when we became teenagers. They're handy, and on adults, they're hot). When you look closely at Jess, there don't seem to be any straps or fabric poking out from under her undershirts, or anything that could be compressing her chest when you look at the armholes of her undershirts when she lifts her arms. We think maaaybe the costume designers gave them some nipple pasties or smth to avoid accidental nipple shots when filming, since they don't wear bras, but I'm not even sure.

My wife helpfully went to look up topless pictures of Kelly in other projects and it does seem she's not very full chested, so it is entirely possible that Jess is just wearing an undershirt and her usual loose shirts, and it's enough to conceal her breasts the way she wants to (bc I do agree that she'd want to appear relatively flat).

I also think it's unlikely they'd be binding while playing ball, in any case - too much exertion for too long, I think.

That being said! Ofc ppl have always bound their chests. In the 1920s, flappers bound their breasts with laceup bras to achieve a more fashionable flatter look. Maybe Jess has one of those for when they have to wear dresses - maybe that'd be the little affirming thing she needs when she is forced to conform.

I also do think just bc she prob doesn't bind (often) during the season doesn't mean she never does otherwise.

So basically my take is : they don't bind Actively, at least not when regularly playing ball, but they def pick their clothes on purpose to be able to minimise how visible their (already relatively flat) chest is.
