I F E E L T H E N E E E E E E D F O R F R E S H A I R . . and S O R B E T ! ! ! 🤣😂🍦🍧 Went down to the town to stretch my legs....and stumbled upon Amore Mio @amoremiocirencester This clever and talented team make delicious ice cream and sorbet on the premises! I chose Mango and Raspberry Sorbet, one scoop of each in a waffle cone...deeeelicious it was too! The best sorbet I have ever tasted was in Milan, 6 years ago BUT this is definitely the BEST I have ever had in the UK!! If you are in Cirencester, you MUST visit... I even got to speak Romanian as I was served by a lovely girl from North Romania. A brand new Chapter is beginning...but endings, in my lived experiences tend to be emotional for me... 📚 ... on Wednesday afternoon after rather a stressful situation I felt a feeling I have not had for a few years... W H A T A S U R PR I S I N G S A T U R D A Y . . As I sit here in the now empty flat that has been my "home" for the last 9 months...I am pondering... Today, since waking up at 3am I have experienced and F E L T approximately 10 different moods...no, not menopausally induced but L I F E on Life's Terms... Of course I am excited to be returning to my beautiful home at 5 Balmoral...BUT, what an adventure this last 9 months has been...😉 I enjoyed living at Cirencester all alone in a 1 bed flat (a first for me at the ripe old age of 51) for about a month.... however with financial difficulties, ending of a long term and toxic relationship, career changes, loneliness and fears of insecurity, a bout of full blown depression set in and I literally only left my bed to go to my shift at the Gym as I knew I had to show up or things would be worse. Fast forward to May and following a "successful suicide" attempt and subsequent loss of a fast friend I had made in AA here I forced myself to take ACTION and begin my mission of returning home to Bingham, Nottingham...🥰 Today, THIS has happened!! My son @kieranmcivor and his friend Jake arrived with an empty van and with the help of Lou we filled it to the brim!! Tonight I shall be in my own bed, in my own home of over 20 years and I cannot wait to wake up tomorrow and hang flipping washing out on my line...weird the things I have missed. Onwards and upwards as my school motto advised subliminally for my former years. Cirencester, it has been E.M O TI O N A L . I THANK YOU for the lessons you gave taught me...I learn well through pain... To Jayne...I wish you hadn't taken your life but I thank you for showing me that I want to LIVE... This afternoon I literally 'popped' into Ciren to deliver Chazza Shop Shite and met the most incredible man! After a conversation and him agreeing to sponsor my Borneo Trek we went to @regattaoutdoors and Derek and Vicky helped me choose appropriate hats for my trek and this wonderful and kind gent bought them ALL for me!! S O this is what C H O O S E D A Y looked like for me. . . Sooooooo many things are swirling around in my head and I am waking up before the flipping birds just lately so I C H O O S E to stop fighting the thoughts and f eelings and just R O lL L with them like the sea rolls with the tide... Really enjoying going to the gym at the moment and my busy feels S T R O N G and that feels flipping amazing... I am training hard for my 10 day trek from Koto Kinabalu to Sepilok in Borneo as it is less than 12 weeks away now!! I am SO grateful for the body I have and amazed at how it all still works even after I have called it names and treated it worse than an old car over the years so I now C H O O S E to respect it. . . As I will need it to help me reach the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre on October 24th!! What did you C H O O S E to do today? How did you C H O O S E to feel today?
