To find the blessings in my life I had to allow myself to have trust in God, and become open and willing to do the work in my 12 step program. Without honest work I wouldn't be able to look at some of the darkest moments in my life as a good. A good meaning as - 'Thank God I lived to share my story in hopes that it inspires someone else to do the same'. 🧘🏽‍♀️ What it comes down too and how I feel is that all of life is Grace, and our life is our responsibility. It's not an either, or. It's a both, and. We can experience bitter trials, and find a silver lining because life is strange and horrible and wonderful and beautiful. If we open our heart; miracles happen. And to find the miracles we MUST dig deep and be Honest.

If God is with you in all things, then all things have potential to bring clearity rather than ruins.

Recovery Is...

Doing the right thing even when it’s the hardest. I left my boyfriend yesterday and while the old me would have stayed for years, given up my dreams for the sake of someone else’s happiness, and become a martyr, God gave me strength to choose myself. It is acting in self-love rather than co-dependency. It is handling the breakup with mutual maturity and respect. It is letting go of the crazy making and the anxiety that came with the breakups before him. I don’t know what the next chapter of my life is, but I know God is guiding me wherever I go.
