Is that Jena in the football photo, to the left of Josh?
That is apparently (per the tag) Lauren Glucksman, I am not really sure who she is or what she does, but…no, not Jena.

Girls Tennis notes: La Salle hopes familiar mantra brings great returns
September 13, 2017

RIIL Director of Multimedia Content
There is a popular saying that “Effort is its own reward.”
Tom Martin believes there is great truth to that, and as he begins his 31st year as the La Salle girls tennis coach, he once again finds himself imparting those words of wisdom upon his players as they embark upon another season in the R.I. Interscholastic League.
“I tell the girls to work hard to improve themselves, not only on the tennis court but also in the classroom because I feel that effort is its own reward,” Martin said. “And I tell them that they should have fun - working with their teammates, making new friendships, all of those things – because that's what high school sports are all about.”

Playing singles for La Salle this season, from left to right: Lauren May, Jenna Lisi, Viansa Portesi and Hannah O’Brien.
La Salle has graduated seven players from last year’s team, which capped off a perfect season by defeating East Greenwich for its third straight Division I Championship. But the Rams return five starters from that squad in Jenna Lisi, Viansa Portesi, Mollie Maggiacomo, Victoria Glucksman and Lauren Macera. Newcomers to the team also include two talented sisters in Kennedy and Lauren May. Kennedy, a junior transfer from Lincoln School, must sit out the first half of the season, according to the league’s Transfer Rule. Meanwhile, Lauren, a freshman, has already earned La Salle’s first singles spot and has helped the Rams get off to a 3-0 start in Division I-Met A.
La Salle will next play Bay View at Bishop Hendricken’s courts, Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.
“It’s not the same team that it was last year,” said Martin. “But we do have a lot of depth at singles, especially when May becomes eligible. And I do spend a lot of time with doubles because it's always been my contention that you need strong doubles teams to win a state title. I just tell the girls to work hard every single day.”
State Singles title up for grabs
With three-time state champion and 2016 state runner-up Peri Sheinin off to Brown University and 2016 state champion Julia Pezzuco opting not to compete for Wheeler this fall, Dakota Busch is the top returning finisher from last year’s RIIL State Singles Tournament.
The Westerly senior earned her third first-team All-State selection last fall after advancing to the semifinals, where she fell to Sheinin.

Busch is off to a solid start this season, improving to 3-0 with her straight-sets victory over Lincoln School’s Jessalyn Jianos on Monday. Westerly's top singles player has helped the Bulldogs get off to a 3-0 start in Division I-Met B.
She and her teammates are gearing up for one of their biggest challenges of the season, when they host East Greenwich, Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Rotary Park. The defending I-Met B champion Avengers are also off to a 3-0 start and have finished second to La Salle in the Division I State Championship each of the last three years.
A number of La Salle’s players will likely be in the mix for the RIIL State Singles and Doubles Tournament, as well.
Wheeler coach Joe Testa has a strong freshman in Anneke Cornelisson, who is already playing at No. 1 for the Warriors.
Moses Brown’s Candice Ballarin, also a freshman, is currently out with an injury, but has been very competitive on the USTA Junior Tournament circuit and could contend for the title once she is healthy.
No doubt there are other players throughout the league capable of catching fire in the state tourney, said Martin.
“I think it's going to be a fun tournament because it's going to be up for grabs,” he said. “In past years we went in with the thought that it was Peri's tournament to lose. But this year we don't have a defending champion returning, so anybody can play well and get on a hot streak. It's really cool where someone could work their way through qualifying and the state tournament and win it.”
As for Division II and III . . .
Prout, the two-time defending champion in Division II, has won its first three matches in Division II-Suburban B. Led by singles players Elizabeth Duffy, Jenson Tavares, Angela Figueroa and Kat Moody, the Crusaders will host North Smithfield, Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.
East Providence won its program’s first Division III title in 23 years last fall. The Townies are off to a 2-1 start in Division III-Central A and will next host Shea, Wednesday at 3 p.m.
