MUTANT MAYHEM SPOILERS -
Movie Review/Rambiling alot
This is ur last warning >:o
AHHHH I LOVED IT
Visuals- BRO THE ANIMATIONNNNN UGGGG all the textures and little squiggles makes my brain go brrr. Was it just me or did the horses have googly eyes? Heh cute 🐎 UGH THE BABIES. THE BABIES. ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION THEM. Ever since having an influx of babies in my family, those parent baby scenes have gotten to my heart strings. Those scenes used to never get to me but man they really do now I cried. It's really interesting how everything EVERYTHING in this movie is not symmetrical. Opposite Wes Anderson, I like to call it. It's eye candy. It gives me the same feeling as watching old cartoons that used cells. Like each frame is homemade. it helps bring life to the mundane.
I could see if people think it's a little too different for them to like, BUT NOT ME 10/10
The Turtles - Very teen it's cool. It is impressive to have teen characters that don't make me cringe and sink into my chair. So that's suchhh a plus! While most of there slang will be obsolete in a couple years that's fine. Actually making them act their age is a great decision.
Leo got that unintentional rizz. No bit actually has a show ever done a Leo April ship? It's interesting it was cute. I don't see much chemistry but tbh I think that was intentional / a good thing. I would have disliked if there was a bigger Leo April sub plot. I like how he was pretty reasonable throughout the whole movie. Not a total party killer, but also not lazy as a leader. It will be so interesting to see how they all grow 🥺
Raph- He's pretty cool, the brute as always not getting everyone one in trouble :D
Donnie- I know Mr. Rogan wanted too make them realisc teens, sadly this also took away Donnies super intelligence. It's very understandable but I wish he was a lil bit more of a nerd, saying something smart here and there. Probably my bias tho since I really like super intelligent characters :P none of Donnie's doohickeys in this one. It might be cool to see him throughout the series and other movies slowly begin to code and make stuff. At least his winning personality shines in this movie!
Mikey- Just Mikey being mikey. Its so nice seeing him happy and at the end go to High school and live among humans 🥺 it's the ending I kinda wanted for Bay verse Mikey, at least we can see it here!
The other mutants- Also very cool but there's a bit too many to really get everyone's say, which is what I was worried about when I saw the cast list. Other that SuperFly and Mono Gecko it felt like many didn't get a time to shine. (Especially Bebop & RockSteady)
Tumblr media
Story/Plot- Honestly with all the all the TMNT content I have imbedded into my brain I thought I wouldn't ever see the "status quote" change SO dramatically. It was compelling to see that Splinter (and super fly) TRIED to go in the human world. And were automatically shunned and basically beat up emotionally/physically. The way super fly explained how he unalived that guy who was harassing them was scary. Very vivid and almost reminded me of Batman? Like the way SuperFly explained that he beat the guy up to a the point were the guy was no longer a threat (which is what Batman does) but Superfly, unlike Batman kept beating him up until... yeahh. It was sad that Baxter Stockmen apparently got killed? If I understood that right. It was very sad to hear especially cause again, baby stories are gut punching me. Baby SuperFly was cute I need a plush of him🥺 I'll raise him good not evil.
I had no idea the turtles and the mutants (other then SuperFly) were gonna team up so fast. It was a bit of a surprise but good.
The ending of all them moving in together tho. Also if they have so much space why don't the boys have separate rooms? Anyway, Team Found Family wins again <3
I really enjoyed Splinter noticing his mistake and like fixing so quick. It's a bit better than Rise Splinter where us arc takes awhile more.
THE TURTLES GOING TO SCHOOL?!?¿¡?!? ¿QUE? DOING WHAT NO TURTLE HAS DONE BEFORE. GOOD FOR THEM <3
The "I'm gonna turn the whole world into mutants" is kinda over done :/ but still good stakes!
Humor- Milk joke coming back full circle. Donnie your not supposed to be driving >:[ but while. Your at it go there. Heh it was funny and loved it.
Cons- Throw up joke. Ehhh just went on a bit too Long
Humans suddenly accepting is a bit too optimistic but I'll allow it.
Overall- Animation makes it worth watching and of course the story, characters and laughs. 9/10 I'm so excited to see it again!!!

Just watched Jai Lava Kusa (2017) and oh man, whoever cooked up the idea of having Jr. NTR play three siblings—each one a distinct flavor of drama—clearly had a wild imagination (probably fueled by some fanfiction and other substances). Seriously, the dynamic between these brothers is like watching a soap opera on steroids. You've got Lava, the noble bank manager, who’s all about duty and honor; Kusa, the lovable goof with a heart of gold and is a thief with plans of going to America to steal in dollars ; and Jai, the deranged and black-cat coded villain with a vendetta against his brothers that could fuel an entire series.
The way these three brothers interact is a total trip. Lava and Kusa are the epitome of brotherly love and loyalty, but then enter Jai, who’s not just a black sheep but a full-blown storm cloud of chaos. The sibling rivalry is so intense, it feels like it’s straight out of a high-stakes melodrama, only turned up to a thousand. Watching them navigate their tangled relationships—Lava’s idealism clashing with Jai’s cruelty and Kusa’s innocent charm being caught in the crossfire—is both gripping and a little bit bonkers. The movie plays with this dynamic in such a dramatic and over-the-top way that it feels like a love letter to every epic family feud in cinematic history, with a healthy dose of self-parody.

RATING NANDAMURI TARAKA RAMA RAO JR'S MANSPREADS ON A SCALE OF 1 - 10
Tumblr media
Jai, my beloved!!!! The undefeated KING of campy manspreads, the only character with a 100% PERFECT TEN record, goes undefeated for yet another round! Behold the sinister eye contact, the aggressive fist plant into the thigh, the veritable ACRE of space between his knees, the tension lines in his trousers, the oversized watch, yes! ALL my favorite manspread qualities are here! And he's on a different throne every time!!!! I have many of these JLK promo shots in the Tarak Manspread Definitive Collection, and they're all on different thrones. Because he has like twelve of them. He's insane and I love him.
I see so much visceral aggression, such unchecked entitlement and manly posturing here. It really is a work of art! Jai's insistence on taking up as much space as physically possible is what this review series is all about! Simply SCRUMPTIOUS.
FINAL VERDICT: 10/10

The Favourite (2018)
[Watched on February 8th]
Me after one minute of dialogue: “Oh so it’s that kind of film, huh” (And by that I mean farce. I expected a straightforward drama!)
Not exactly my preferred style of filmmaking: something that revels in its own cynicism and We’re Telling It How It Is attitude, maintaining an emotional distance from the characters. Out of the three women, only Anne felt three-dimensional throughout the entire film, the other two started gaining depth near the end when they switched places in terms of not only power but also emotional sensitivity. The power plays were written with brilliance and nuance, but the characters were too busy engaging in these power plays to have interiority. It was difficult for me to maintain interest and investment in the characters because they kept acting exactly the way I expected them to act. The plot, on the contrary, felt unpredictable: until the very end I had no idea where it was going and which of the favourites would win, probably partially due to the film’s cold dry approach.
I came here to see the complex power dynamics between women and enjoyed them as expected, but something that took me by surprise was how well these personal power struggles were interwoven with the large-scale political intrigue. On another level, the same “political vs personal” theme that is at the heart of probably any story about a monarch was one of the few parts of the film that successfully evoked contradictory emotions in me. The dysfunctional system of government that deserves outrage versus the dysfunctional person at the top of it who deserves pity. The nightmare of such a person holding this enormous power versus the nightmare that is her actual life (versus the nightmare that are the lives of literally everyone else not afforded her position and resources).
The most striking instance of that “golden cage” being brought to the forefront is the scene where Anne reveals that she’s gone through 17 pregnancies only to have all of them result in stillbirths and child deaths, bringing Abigail to tears instantly. It’s a horror created by the intersection of Anne’s sex and class: royals who were not women couldn’t suffer in this way, and I assume that for women who were not royalty producing heirs was less of a priority.
The Favourite never forgets that its leads are women while not making a big deal out of it and avoiding the tiresome female character clichés. Best film I’ve seen recently in terms of female representation. The three main performances are all different and all great; Anne is the rawest and most nuanced not only in terms of writing but also acting — Olivia Colman fully deserved that Oscar. Another scene of hers I have to mention is the one where Anne has a meltdown and stumbles through her palace alone and disoriented; a moment of Shakespearean weight and intensity in the middle of all the ironic detachment.
Maybe it’s a consequence of the film’s cold tone, but it’s a surprise to me that, apparently, Rachel Weisz’s intent and many viewers’ interpretation is that Sarah genuinely loved Anne. I can see that Anne loved Sarah, that Sarah loved being Anne’s favourite and having power over her, and that the relationship that lasted most of Sarah’s life was essential to her identity, but not that Sarah had feelings for Anne that I would classify as “love” — at least throughout most of the film. I don’t buy it that Sarah’s brutal honesty is proof of her love. There’s a seed of truth in “[Abigail] wants nothing from [Anne], unlike [Sarah].” Both Sarah and Abigail want themselves to remain in power; but only Sarah has political ambitions and therefore wants Anne to act in a certain way. Sarah needs Anne to be presentable and enact specific policies; Abigail doesn’t care what Anne does as a queen, she just needs her own position to be safe. Sarah wants the Queen of England in her pocket; Abigail wants a spot at the top of the pecking order. That’s why the former disciplines Anne and the latter spoils her.
The ending wasn’t strong enough for my taste. It was mesmerizing to watch because of the great acting and the stylish direction, but the final interaction between Anne and Abigail didn’t tell me anything about their characters I hadn’t already known. By that time it’s already established that Anne sees through Abigail and that Abigail is tired of pretending to love Anne. A drawn out shot like that should be warranted by its strong emotional content, and this one didn’t hit the mark, in my opinion. Plus, the symbolism of the rabbits is too vague to be impactful; I’ve seen like five different interpretations and don’t have a strongly preferred one myself. The triple dissolve is an interesting visual, but I kept waiting for the final shot to recontextualize everything and make it click into place, and it never happened.
Just like the film never tries to pat itself on the back for focusing on women, it also never sensationalizes the sexual relationships between them, which I appreciate. They couldn’t possibly be replaced by m/f or m/m relationships without completely changing everything about the story and its political dynamics, but there’s nothing remotely resembling the present-day identity politics. It’s a conspicuous choice for such an eclectic film: the speech patterns, looks, and dances are meant to be anachronistic, but the same sex relationships aren’t. I don’t know if the attitudes in the film are actually historically accurate, but they at least seem so because of the absence of the familiar discourse points. Can you imagine any kind of sexuality-based solidarity between these three, or a position towards marriage not founded on pragmatism?
Speaking of marriage: Abigail’s wedding night is the funniest sex scene (if it even deserves to be called that) in my recent memory. The poor guy is fully blurred out in the background while the camera stays on a close-up of Abigail’s serious face as she obsessively monologues about her lesbian nemesis. Men’s rights to shut the fuck up indeed! It’s also a marker of Abigail’s character development. Previously she seemed to genuinely enjoy playfighting with the boy her age — a contrast to her fake affection towards and calculated seduction of Anne. Now she doesn’t care to even look at the same young man even though winning him as a husband was one of her biggest victories, because she’s consumed by her rivalry with Sarah.
By the way, I couldn’t tell that guy apart from the other man wearing heavy makeup and a giant wig, which made following the plot difficult at times. I also had to pause the film right at the beginning when I saw a maddeningly familiar face and needed to look up the actor, and it turned out to be Mark Gatiss of all people… Were other viewers also confused by the wigs and stuff, or am I becoming faceblind?
(Relevant: “Yorgos specifically said he wanted the women to have natural-looking faces and hair, he really didn’t want them to look like they got up every day and went to hair and makeup for several hours. He wanted them to have a natural, raw look about them, un-made-up with the hair having a naturalness to it. Normally films are filled with men and the women are the decoration in the background, and I’ve one many of those, so it was quite nice for it to be reversed this time where the women are the center of the film and the men are the decoration in the background. Of course, they’ve got serious, important parts, but I think the frivolity of them is quite funny.”)
---
Other notes:
Shout out to all of Sarah’s outfits with pants. And her wild look with the hair down.
Another shout out to this moment: Anne to Sarah: Fuck me. Abigail: 🧍‍♀️
RIP to the emetophobes trying to watch this.
At some point last year, I tried to watch The Draughtsman’s Contract because I really loved the variations on the baroque music themes Michael Nyman wrote for the soundtrack. Had to turn it off after 10 minutes or so. The Favourite is like that one, but actually watchable!
Very satisfied with my watchlist planning so far: third film in a row about the intersection between age difference, illness, and love! Any other suggestions?
---
A couple of interesting quotes from an essay I found after finishing and posting this review:
- “Abjection functions here [...] as mere accessory to the comedic coldness that is Lanthimos’s signature style. This is the problem with most of his films: despite the empathy that actors have for their characters, the hyper ironic and self-aware stylisation gives Lanthimos a smug authoritative ‘smartness’ over everything depicted onscreen.” — exactly what I was talking about in the beginning.
- “In contrast to the female characters of the film who wear relatively simple outfits and naturalistic makeup, the male actors are placed in exaggerated period drag that combines pompous wigs, stylised make-up and campy performances [...] At worst, The Favourite ends up perpetuating essentialising (and perhaps homophobic) binaries between ‘strong women’ and men whose weakness is conflated with their overt feminisation.” — something that didn’t occur to me but makes sense.

King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard - Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava
(Jazz Rock, Jam Band, Psychedelic Rock)
Mixing their psychy jazz-rock with winding, jam-band style compositions, King Gizzard's first October release is a thrilling, if uneven listen. Though these songs tend to meander, it's the band's exceptional solo sections and ability to hold a tune together that keeps Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava moving along.
☆☆☆½
Like its title, Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava is one highly-packed experience. King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard have always pulled from the worlds of jam bands and long-form Krautrock - think a mixture of CAN and Phish - but it often acted more as a supplementary part of their vast psychedelic rock and pop universe than a whole world in itself, hypnotic grooves and energetic instrumentation the support beam for whatever direction they wanted to head, fit for both Nonagon Infinity's looping garage rock and the jazzy prog-rock of Quarters. With Ice, Death, Planets..., the band seeks to give those jammy elements their own Petri dish to grow in, setting down some of their strongest grooves in years and letting the music flow naturally for as long as it takes to grow into something both beautiful and deeply imposing. The album's ideas are solid, but occasionally held back by their ambitions at the same time, these longer tracks and their emphasis on constant development leaving little breathing room and causing the album's impressive compositions to feel stuffy and, at worst, unimpactful. At its very best, Ice, Death, Planets... is a reminder of just how powerful a band King Gizzard can be, the harsher side of their sound that has been relatively dormant the past few years coming back in the hints of acid rock and heavy psychedelia they thrown in here and there, album singles Ice V and Iron Lung incorporating bits of noisy guitar work into red-hot fusion jams that manage to be both hypnotic and deeply engaging at once with their beautiful yet technical lead guitar work surrounded by strong grooves, buoyant basslines and subtle accompaniment parts - whether you want to lose yourself in the band's world or pick apart every little element, there's something in Ice, Death, Planets... you'll love. King Gizzard settle into a certain style for all seven of these tracks, but they aren't aiming for cohesion so much as a particular template they bend and break depending on what each track needs to do, opener Mycelium brighter and sweeter than the rest of the tracks with its wah-guitar opening solo and Afrobeat-tinged kick and snare patterns while the heavy centerpiece Lava relies more on its slow dynamic build to create enough tension for the second half of the track to completely explode, but it's all within this free-flowing psychedelic mindset that hangs over the album no matter the intricacies of King Gizz's sound at any given point. Regardless, there's a lot to love about Ice, Death, Planets... and how powerfully it brings back the darker side of King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard we haven't seen much of since the late 2010s. What has held me back from fully embracing Ice, Death, Planets..., though, is that there's little breathing room and constant movement without a clear end goal, King Gizzard's solid songcraft lacking a final destination and wandering about because of it - even if they almost always sound great while doing so. These songs are dominated by their solo sections so much that the interims between them feel shockingly empty and flat even with how much is going on all the time, the album's last two tracks Iron Lung and Gliese 710 suffering especially from this as King Gizzard close Ice, Death, Planets... out with an unexpected evaporation of intensity rather than taking the music in a new direction - I honestly would have preferred if the album closed out on the thirteen minute highlight Hell's Itch considering how definite and strong it feels compared to the songs succeeding it. It's harder to get past these little hiccups than on some of the band's other releases because of how long these songs are and how few of them make up the tracklist: if you're not a fan of the way Lava or Mycelium sound from the get-go, the songs never move far enough from their starting point to pique your interest for a second time, King Gizzard sticking to their guns for an album that's both a showing of their group cohesion and one of their most enclosed projects yet. Ice, Death, Planets... isn't a bad album, but like their other recent albums it doesn't do much to push its ideas further than what they show: these are robust, enormous psych-rock jams carried by their solo sections and mesmerizing drum grooves, but whenever things start to compress and the songs begin to feel monotonous rather than immersive there's little the band can do to pick up the pace, stuck following the same patterns and structures to keep these extended tunes from falling apart but often ending up sacrificing so much of the spontaneity and quick energy that's made many of their previous albums such a wealth of contemporary rock gratification, Ice, Death, Planets... trying to reward deep listening but without enough variation in its elements to justify that kind of focused album experience. It's just as strong as anything King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard have done in the past, and none of the shortcomings Ice, Death, Planets... has get in the way of those fundamental charms.

Tumblr media
The mask contains 27 grams (0.95 oz) and is artificial fragrance-free.
Tumblr media
The sheet mask is a naturally derived bamboo cellulose mask. It's designed to adhere closely to the lines in your face and is designed to maximize moisture to the skin. The mask has a good fit and I didn't need to adjust the eyes or mouth holes.
Recommended use is after washing your face, use toner to smooth skin texture. Apply the mask evenly over your face and leave it on for 10-20 minutes, then remove and gently pat the remaining essence into the skin for better absorption. After using, this mask is very impressive. The mask's material is very comfortable and absorbent as there's a lot of essence. There is kind of a sharp scent in this mask, I'd say it's probably from the essential oil in the ingredients, but as far as artificial fragrances, there are none. The ingredients are very refreshing and ideal for toning skin and adding needed hydration. There is one irritant in this mask, it's not at the top of the list but it's important to take note if you have sensitive skin. This mask imo, is like a shot or burst of pure hydration. My skin really drank everything in and it really added plumpness and soothed the redness in my cheeks. I'd recommend this to anyone really, unless you're very sensitive to essential oils.
What I like: this mask is so good, it's so hydrating and really high quality. It does feel like a pure burst of hydration and is very soothing and refreshing as well. I'd love to see them make a toner or serum with this type of formula. I didn't have a personal issue with any of the ingredients in this mask and really enjoyed my experience. What I don't like: there's one big irritant smack dab in the middle of the ingredient list and there's a bit of a sharp scent to the mask but I feel it tones itself down once it was out of the package.
Pros:
Pure hydration
Soothing
Refreshing
Calming
Comfortable mask
Lovely material and fit
Nice quality
Sensitive skin friendly
Artificial fragrance-free
Cons:
Essential oil on the list
Hard to find
Would I buy again?
Definitely
Rating: 10/10

RATING NANDAMURI TARAKA RAMA RAO JR’S MANSPREADS ON A SCALE OF 1 - 10
Jai is back with yet more manspread excellence, because he is incapable of anything less! Literally all the essentials are here! The aggressive stare-down, the fist PLUNGING into his own thigh, bracing the weight of his CONTEMPT, the tantalizing glimpse at the crotch seam of his very, very stressed jeans, the KILOMETERS of distance between his knees, the gaudy accessories, the glaring presence of just the absolute biggest fuckoff cock energy!!! YES!!!!! Once again, Jai reigns supreme!
We need to talk about Jai’s numerous THRONES. Raavan is more than a king, he’s the immortal god emperor of Lanka, and he pathologically NEEDS to demonstrate that in the gayest, most theatrical, over the top, campy, ballsed-out way 25 hours a day, 8 days a week. He cannot be contained!!!!! This throne is a work of art unto itself! The filigree, the ornamentation, the rich velvet, the obscene BREADTH! To have a throne like this and to just fuckin straddle it like that is the very PICTURE of manspread excellence!
A couple final words of praise: the arm seams on his kurta are AT DEATH’S DOOR, my god I’ve never seen such stress on a garment!!! And the little thumb-out variation of the fist plant is so unexpected, but I’m tickled pink! I think it adds marvelous flavor and intrigue!
FINAL VERDICT: 10/10
