there's a finnizen by my local beach that i like to stop by and play with sometimes, I noticed last time I was there he had this big red marking on his chest that wasn't there before. he seemed totally normal and happy to see me aside from that, should I be worried?? it didn't look like an injury but maybe like a stain or patch

he's evolved into a palafin. sometimes when finizen travel between pods- which i imagine is what's happening here, given that he seems to be by himself- the eustress from the unique social interactions can trigger evolution. he should be okay.

that being said, please don't attempt to approach or play with wild finizen or palafin. while they're curious, intelligent pokemon that will sometimes come up to investigate humans, you should never purposefully try to interact with them when they're wild and untrained. it's dangerous for both you and them. finizen are fast swimmers and have been known to suddenly aqua jet when people try to interact with them; some of these people have ended up in the hospital, and a few years ago a woman trying to swim with finizen outside of lavencia drowned when the pod started swimming fast around her and she got pulled under the water.

I completed a Ghost Monotype run of Pokemon Scarlet! This is also the last run I'll be able to do for a very long time because I'm starting grad school.

Using Froslass was not always a part of the plan. Mimikyu was going to be the sixth member. However, when I added Mimikyu to the team, it couldn't do damage for crap. That's when I decided to catch a Snorunt and evolve it into Froslass, and she kicked butt!

I also used a Sabeleye for a while until I could catch Spiritomb since it is available rather late at level 49.

I almost made it through without using max revives but that changed with the AI Sada fight. I had to hold on through Flutter Mane and then Annihilape, my MVP, was able to one-shot Roaring Moon with Close Combat. Clavell's Quaquavel was also annoying but my Spiritomb finished it off with Sucker Punch.

This was my first time going a Ghost monotype and it was quite fun!

Oh and if you're wondering how I got my Gengar I did NOT do the in-game trade in Lavencia. I did not want a Gengar named Hauntikins. So what did I do? I sent my Haunter over to Legends Arceus, realized I didn't have a link cord or enough merit points to buy one, and grinded merit points until I could finally get one and evolve it! Then I sent it back.

This is hilarious to me because I finished finding all 5 Herba Mystica before anything else so after Arven said he'd meet me here, I finished two last Team Star bosses and Starfall Street, finished up Lavencia and Artazon, COMPLETED AS MUCH OF THE POKEDEX AS I COULD without trading or going to area zero (which took me a week), leveled up my E4 team, beat the Elite 4 and Nemona, and then FINALLY, after eleven days, I went to the lighthouse.

I completed a water monotype of Pokemon Scarlet!

Water is always the easiest monotype to do a run-through of.

Artazon gym? Cakewalk with my Wingull and Mareanie. Lavencia gym? I'll admit that I over-leveled until Shellos evolved into Gastrodon so that I was able to sweep. I know it was cheap but I didn't think I'd stand a chance without it.

I did use an Azumarill for a while but eventually opted for a Wash Rotom because wanted another mon besides Gastrodon that wasn't weak to the electric type.

I did have to blow a max revive against Arven's Mabosstiff since Quaquaval was already down and then it died due to the rocky helmet anyway. I also blew one against AI Sada but I may have not needed it.

My MVP was Pelipper due to drizzle + surf and hurricane. Quaquaval was my ace due to close combat and ice spinner to KO the dragon types. I would terastilize him when needed to get rid of the weakness to flying type moves.

I also found a shiny Growlithe in this playthrough. I forgot to mention that in my previous playhtough (grass) I found a shiny Psyduck and Flamigo. Want to know how? Because I'm subscribed to PM7, and when you subscribe to PM7, you find shinies!
