From the moment he stepped into the courtroom and saw you were opposing counsel Andy knew he was screwed. The whispers of the woman that could rival him as a prosecutor moving to the district didn’t contain how beautiful you were.
Your stellar professional reputation preceded you, but your bewitching presence was a surprise that completely caught him off guard.
Andy wasn’t one to get flustered under the pressures of the court, but when you looked at him, his speech briefly stuttered along with his heart. Your words flowed eloquently, and your confidence made him grateful that it was an open-and-shut case, because once court was adjourned he decided that a woman as brilliant as you belonged with him.
He pursued you until you gave in, but it was a lot harder than he anticipated. You weren’t looking for anything, yet his persistence ensured that you found it anyway. The man wore you down with his kindness, helpfulness, and those dazzling blue eyes always giving you his undivided attention. Despite your cynicism, you let yourself fall for the lawyer with the complicated past.
Fortunately, Andy ensured that you didn’t regret it. And to further prove his commitment, he proposed after six months of dating you, simply because he needed you to be his, in every way possible.
Just like he made you his, every night since you agreed to go out with him. You thought it might be a bit too early to sleep with him after your first official date. But as he helped you out of his Audi and walked you to your front door with your hand firmly in his, you knew exactly what was going to happen.
“Tell me to leave, honey,” he mumbled against your lips after kissing you goodnight.
“But I want you to stay,” you whispered before opening your door.
He took care of you that night, worshiping every inch of your body, just like he wanted to from the moment his eyes laid on you.
Your attraction couldn’t stay confined to just your places at night, and that’s how stolen kisses at work turned into making love behind locked office doors. But sex wasn’t always like that, sometimes he’d fuck you, quick and rough, just enough to get you both there. Other days, he’d take his time, dominating you hard and slow; whispering the filthiest words you’d only hear when you got him like that.
“That’s it, honey. Go soft under me, fuck – this pussy’s so fuckin’ tight it’s like she wants to keep me inside,” Andy groaned against the shell of your ear, his beard grazing against your soft skin as he pounded into you. You felt him everywhere; his warm lips, his large hands, his hard length roughly sinking into you over and over again. Until you were screaming his name, barely able to hear him mutter how well you squeezed his cock and how pretty you were as you came for him.
The two of you eloped on a weekend trip in Portland, and the main thing that changed once you were officially his wife was that his adoration and devotion became even more intense.
Andy was a self-assured man, but now that you were his, you didn’t miss the way his possessiveness lingered whenever you interacted with other male colleagues. In fact, you loved the way he’d make it apparent that you belonged to him. You loved it even more when he took you home and reminded you that you were his Mrs. Barber – as if the ring on your finger and the hold on your heart wasn’t indication enough.
His protective nature, the way he cherished you as a partner and always took care of you made you fall for him more and more every day. A few colleagues at work even mentioned that you changed him for the better. He didn’t hide the fact that he was once a workaholic that prioritized his job more than anything in his past relationship; instead he made sure that you knew that you were his top priority through his actions. You were his new beginning, a chance to do things differently, and he certainly made the most of that.
Andy was the perfect husband to you, his wonderful wife.
Because you were his ideal partner. You were the warm softness to his rough exterior – although you were strong when you needed to be and Andy really admired that. You were the one that he trusted to tear down the tall walls he’d built up over the years. He needed someone that didn’t judge him about his past, that actually appreciated him, and saw him for the deeply caring man that he was. It amazed him how you fit the bill in every sense; a fact he expressed gratitude for often.
And now that Andy loves you, he can never stop. Because you’re his better half, his gorgeous and amazing wife, his Mrs. Barber.

Worth It
Andy Barber x Divorce Lawyer!Reader
Tumblr media
a/n: Hey, An🫶n, and my other beautiful readers! So sorry it's taken me a while to post any new stories, asks, or anything remotely interesting other than my rants and shade. It's been a tough month... For now, this is going to, hopefully, be 1 of 3 fics before November. Let me just say, I'm insane for challenging myself like this, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, sit back and enjoy the fic!
WARNINGS!!! Some cursing (calling of slut, one mention of Fuck), pet names, mention of the car crash, mention of near death, mention of therapy, Andy is one seductive little shit, maternal figure!Y/N.
*Y/S/N = Your SurName
**F/P = Favorite Pastry
***F/C/D = Favorite Cafe Drink
Tumblr media
Her alarm rang obnoxiously loud, but Y/N didn't seem to mind as she reached out to her bedside table to turn it off, before snuggling back into the man sleeping peacefully beside her. As they were in the process of effectively divorcing his wife, Andy had promised that as soon as it was all finalized, she can expect for there to be some of the biggest changes in her life. And safe to say Atty. Y/N *Y/S/N, wasn't disappointed, and may never get tired of it all.
She wrapped her arms around the slender torso of her boyfriend. They'd been together for about two years now, despite having a rocky start, their feelings blossomed into the most beautiful thing that neither of the two have ever experienced before. And that fact was once again proven, when the girl's snuggling and attempt at burrowing had pulled a reaction from the unsurprisingly gorgeous man.
"You know that will only make you late, if not later, than normal, Baby Girl, right?" Andy smirked, eyes remaining closed, hiding the mischief behind them.
"So... What if I do want to be late? Hmm?" Y/N replied, her cheeky grin growing with each second, as she took to placing light kisses on the side of her Love's neck.
"Then you'll have to explain to a very moody 16-year-old, why he missed at least three periods... And you know you can't reason with him, or his teachers." Andy laughed.
"Fuck!" Y/N sighed, laying flat in disappointment.
"We never get our mornings in anymore..."
"You know we could just send, Jacob on the bus... Be some bad parents for once..." Andy whispered, pulling his girlfriend close once more, allowing him to do so, sexily, in her ear.
"No. I can't risk Laurie approaching, and basically harassing him. Again." Y/N said, pulling away from his extremely tempting arms, and sitting up.
"You know we should let her see him, again." Andy said, a hand rubbing Y/N's arm, and eventually resting on her hip, pulling him to her, as he propped himself with one arm, and scooted closer to her.
"And we will. In neutral territory, under supervision." Y/N huffed.
"You're never forgiving her, are you?" Andy said, after placing a kiss on her shoulder.
"Absolutely. Come on, Andy, we're going to be stuck at traffic if we don't start moving now." She continued, looking at the time on the clock across from the right side of the bed.
"You don't want to be called old by our son again, do you?" She added with a chuckle, getting up, and turning around to walk backwards towards the bathroom.
"No, I definitely don't! Especially if I'm going to make sure his Ma will be carrying his sibling..." Andy said, smiling with a playfulness that alluded to something more.
And it stayed on, as he charged at Y/N. Filling their home with sounds of laughter and gleeful screams. With Andy silently hoping that he'd be able to hear that sound for the rest of his life.
Tumblr media
Jacob had had an early day off from school, considering that his Physics teacher had cancelled class to be with his 6 year old daughter, who had fallen and injured herself in PE. Andy was stuck in his office, filling paperwork after paperwork for a case he was assigned, and he'd asked Y/N to fetch Jacob from school. And she was happy to oblige.
Jacob might not be her son by blood, and he had been accused of murder, but she loved him anyway. They'd formed a unique maternal bond, and she wasn't willing to give it up for anything. Especially when Jacob accepted that she could become his step-mother at some point.
Y/N decided it'd be fun to take Jacob with her to work, considering her caseload was light, and no one minded having a teenager amongst them. Plus, Jacob had asked her how and what did she do her job, at one point. That's why she decided to buy a few snacks from the stall right outside hers and Andy's office building.
"What would you like to have bud?" She asked, smiling at him, gently holding him up as he was still suffering from partial paralysis in his left leg, from the car crash. Therapy had helped, both physically and mentally, however, it had taken two years before some feeling came back and he was able to flex his foot. However, the rest of the leg will take some time.
"I don't know, Ma... Everything looks so good, I can't decide. Am I even allowed?" Jacob asked, his eyes sparkling in a way that Y/N has only seen happen in Andy's eyes.
"Ofcourse, you're allowed, Silly! Don't tell your father that I'm letting you take two, though." She giggled conspiratorially.
"My lips are sealed." Jacob laughed, holding his crutch in one hand, while he mimed a zipper with the other.
He later picked one chocolate frosted, with chocolate chips on top, and one white frosted, with colorful sprinkles, for his donuts, along with one Mocha-latte. Y/N ordered her usual **F/P and ***F/C/D, and was in the process of paying when she heard, a motherly voice, she was definitely not in the mood to hear today.
"Jacob! Sweetie, you look so big! You've grown so much in the past two weeks..." Laurie cried, her hands on Jacob's shoulders, before she pulled him into a hug.
"Laurie, get your hands off of my son. You don't get to see him until this Saturday, you know that!" Y/N exclaimed, approaching them with fury. Her own protective motherly instincts had awoken at the sound of that woman's voice.
"Your son? Y/N surely you can't be serious. Jacob is, and always will be my son. I gave birth to him. I raised him. I protected and defended him, when no one else did!" Laurie shouted, making Jacob flinch. Y/N took hold of Jacob, gently freeing him from Laurie's clutches.
"Yeah, you did a mighty good job at that, when you tried to kill him by crashing that car." She said in an eerily calm way.
"Jacob go inside, and wait in the Lobby."
"If he died in that accident, then you'd have Andy all to yourself, you slut!" Laurie said, not caring who hears.
"You know that what happened wasn't an accident, Laurie. You pressured Jacob into confessing to something he didn't do, because that's all you believed." Y/N countered, causing Laurie to eat her words.
"You believed the worst in Jacob, and didn't care that he was innocent in all of it. And you think you deserve to be called a mother? You tried to kill him! Your own son. You don't deserve to be near Jacob or the rest of my family." She gasped, finally letting out all that she thought of Laurie in the past two years.
"If it were up to me, I'd deny you any of your parental rights. But I won't do that to Jacob, or Andy. Those two mean more to me than anything else in this world, and I will do whatever it takes to make them happy and safe." She sighed, a heavy weight lifting off of her shoulders.
"Now, go home, Laurie. Before I smack you with a restraining order. We'll see you this weekend, if you manage to stay away for that long..."
Y/N had won. She not only gave Laurie a piece of her mind, she had actually spoken a truth she knew to be true long before Andy and her had made themselves official. And as she sighed with even more relief, and turned around, she saw one handsome face and the face of a boy that's been through hell but was right there smiling, that couldn't help, but make her smile.
"Jacob and I mean more to you than anything, huh?" Andy shyly smiled, his teeth peeking through his lips.
"You do. More than you'll both ever know." Y/N replied, as she ran to the arms of her family. Content with the life she's built for herself, that's worth everything.

So, I may have gotten, little bit overboard with the request, and wrote my first ever Andy Barber fic, feat. Jacob Barber😅. I hope you don't mind, An🫶n. Your request was too good of an idea to pass up writing a full fic!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I also hope that this fic was a fun distraction from all this mess caused by certain people. And stay tuned, I'm not done writing yet. Because this was, sort of an energizer for me.😁
See you in the next one, my Fellow Fan Girls and Boys🫶

Three weeks later, Jake’s café, …
“How can I help you Ms. Y/L/N?" Lloyd was right, his brother Andy looks like he’s got a stick up his ass. He watches you closely as you try to check your CV again. “Miss, I came here to help you. The least you can do is pay attention to me.”
“Stop bugging her,” Lloyd marches toward your table. “We asked you to come here to check if we could sue the Avengers or Stark. Golden boy or not, I want to fuck him over.”
“Lloyd, language,” Andy lifts his gaze from the papers in front of him. He sneers and turns his attention back to the papers.
Lloyd sighs deeply as you say, “I don’t want to sue Mr. Stark or the Avengers." Tony has always been kind to me. What happened was not his fault. I will just move on and get another job.”
“You’re too good for this world, cupcake.”
“I’m just used to things like this, Lloyd,” you say with a cracked smile. “I’m a big girl in any way. Steve Rogers and Sandy are not the first people to harass me and won’t be the last.”
“Miss, I don’t know you very well, but harassment is a crime,” Andy says. “If you don’t want to sue Mr. Stark, I understand. But we can sue Steve Rogers. He was the one harassing you. I will damage his reputation so much he wishes he had never gotten the serum.”
“There he is,” Ari grabs his brother’s shoulders, squeezing hard. “I know you still have it in you. Our bad boy is back!”
“Hands off Ari,” Andy snaps at his brother. It was just legal advice I gave to Miss Y/L/N. It won’t be easy, though. Everyone loves Captain America. If we do this, it’s going to be a long and difficult fight.”
“Can I not shoot him a little?” Lloyd asks.
“What?” You snap your head at Lloyd. “No violence, Lloyd. I just…can we not forget about all of this? Mr. Stark offered to pay me my wages for the rest of the year. He even offered me a better position but…”
“You didn’t want to run into that asshat Rogers,” Jake says. He balances a tray filled with your favorite sins. “All for you, sweetie.”
“Jake, I told you I wanted to lose weight. Your creations don’t help me at all,” you whine as you look at the cupcakes and cookies on the plate Jake places in front of you.
Jake violently shakes his head and says, “No…no, you’ll eat up, Y/N. I made them all for you.”
“Mike is on his way,” Curtis says to the brothers and you at the table. “What is the plan now? Do we sue that blonde boy, or do we break his neck?”
“No breaking necks,” Andy huffs. “You all didn’t change one bit. This domestic façade. The café. The legal business. Nothing can hide who you really are.”
“Well, sunshine,” Lloyd grips the back of Andy’s chair and leans close enough to whisper in Andy’s ear, “we are gangsters. Always were. You didn’t have a problem with taking the money to pay for your study, the house, and all the shiny things your wife wanted you to buy.”
Andy balls his hands into fists. He squares his jaw. His eyes flicker toward you. You can see he tries to hold his anger back as the seconds tick by.
Andy takes several deep breaths. No matter what, he keeps his gaze on you. “I never wanted money. You gave it to me, Lloyd. I knew it was to get rid of me.”
“Nonsense,” Curtis huffs. “You always dreamed big. Daddy’s money wasn’t good enough for you any longer. We weren’t good enough for you. You had started a family and forgot about your brothers.”
“Maybe if your only solution wasn’t violence and threatening people I would’ve stayed. But all of you refused to change and let me give the family business a legal façade and…then I came back, and you’ve got a coffee house chain.”
“Oh, tell Y/N every dirty detail about our business, why don’t you?” Jake snaps at Andy. “We tried to keep her out of this! And this is not a coffeehouse chain. It’s a café, and bakery with a reading corner and free Wi-Fi.”
“What do you mean?" Andy searches your eyes again. “Fuck…you should’ve told me so.”
“Yeah, fuck sunshine,” Lloyd slaps the back of Andy’s head. “Cupcake, I guess the cat is out. Now you are part of the organization. Welcome to the family.”
“What? "I-what?" you ask as you try to figure out what just happened. You assumed Lloyd and his brothers didn’t make money the legal way, but ending up as a part of their criminal organization wasn’t in your plans. “Will I get paid?”
Lloyd throws his head back and starts laughing. He holds his stomach, snorting and chuckling as Jake throws his hands up.
Ari and Curtis shrug while turning their attention to the food on the table. Only Andy still looks at you. “Sorry for my idiot brothers. They are a handful.”
“It’s fine,” you hastily say. “They helped me through a rough patch. And I get free cupcakes here every day.”
“We will find the perfect position in our organization for you. You’ll never have to work for these assholes again,” Lloyd says. He still snorts slightly but tries to keep a straight face. “Just promise me I can pay Mr. Goldilocks back for his behavior.”
“Perfect position."
“…and free cupcakes, “ Jake adds. “We have all this paperwork and most of my brothers hate doing it. I’m the only one taking care of this shit. But I’m busy with the website and marketing. You’ll be an angel saving me from all the paperwork I’m drowning in.”
“Do you want to sue Rogers now or not?” Andy leans back in his chair and looks at you. “Doll, you need to talk to your lawyer.”
“All I want is to forget about Sandy, Steve Rogers, and my former job. I liked working in the tower, but it was never meant to be a long-term position. I wanted to open my own business one day.”
“What kind of business?” Andy asks. He seems to be a bit more relaxed around his brothers now.
“I don’t know. I always liked to bake, and I love flowers…books too. I never thought much about it, to be honest. I dreamed of opening my business, but…”
“You never believed it would actually happen?” he asks. “If you had one wish, what would it be?”
“Can we stop that wishy-washy nonsense now? We still need to find a way to pay that asshole back.”
“Don’t forget Sandy, with Y,” Jake grits out. "I want to pay her back too. She harassed our girl. Y/N is my friend. I won’t let that woman get away with it.”
Tumblr media
Five hours later you are curled up on Jake’s comfortable couch. The brothers wanted you to come with them tonight. Rumors say a fight is taking place in New York.
One involving the Avengers.
“Why do you think this place is safer?” You yawn and rub your tired eyes. “Lloyd?”
“You must trust me in this, cupcakes. This house is the safest place in this rotten world,” Lloyd pats your head. "We have prepared a room for you. Upstairs.”
“Got it,” you flutter your eyes shut. “Thank you…all of you…”
Tumblr media
“Truth or dare, gentlemen,” Lloyd looks around the table. All seats are taken for the first time in years. “Andy, Mike, welcome back.”
“Lloyd,” Mike nervously glances at his brother, “I wanted to apologize for your car. I will pay you back for it.”
“Good.”
“Lloyd,” Jake pokes his brother’s side. Is there anything else you would like to say to Mike?”
“It’s good that you don’t look like shit anymore,” Lloyd grins. “We are proud of you for fighting your addiction, brother. Welcome home.”
“I came back as Curtis said you needed help with a girl.”
“She needs our help. We're gonna teach Captain America a lesson now that he messed with her," Lloyd whispers.

Come Hell Or Highwater: Part 4
Andy Barber, even as young as he was compared to other lawyers who were as seasoned as him, was at the top of his game.
He was a lawyer who built himself a reputation that exceeded others around him and had just as ruthlessly defended anyone that he could have helped. While his brothers had joined the military and became navy SEALs, the two driven by some force demanded they give back to the world by saving everyone that they could.
Their impressive military careers were commendable and had secured the two of them a position with the Navy SEALs, while Andy had chosen to attend university and get his law degree. Ultimately the three of them would end up working for the same goal to aid the Witness Protection Program as best as their skill sets would allow.
While Ari and Steve had aided the program with their skills learned in the military which had provided protection for the people integrated into the service, Andy had worked through the courts to ascertain protective orders and handle the proceedings that would hopefully allow whoever was in hiding to find some level of peace.
Some level of peace that would only be achieved once the men responsible, for beating the prominent businessman and politician to death in the darkened alley on that fateful night wherein your good nature won out, had been put through court and thrown into a tiny windowless cell.
Until then you were at risk of death, or an even worse fate if they had gotten their hands on you. And while Andy, Ari and Steve would do everything within their power to keep you safe and out of their hands, ultimately there was only so much they could do and if you hadn’t played the role given to you by the program, you could theoretically be the cause of your own downfall.
Although that chance was low, it wasn’t out of the realm of possibilities especially not for someone like you.
Naïve and good-natured to an almost fault, there were definite avenues that could be exposed, there were cracks that the other side of the coin would try and expose. If they had gained access to your heart that you wore on your sleeve, or if they had tapped into your willingness to help as many people around you as they could, they would have you exactly where they wanted you.
However they had to find you first, and finding you would grant them the most difficulty. Especially given the numerous trials they had left that directed the organization after you in countless directions. It was a ploy, an intricate plot to have your direct location hidden.
And the benefit of being in a place that was a secure and safe community for polyamorous couples and family units was its secrecy and tendency to stick to each other. A safe place that wasn’t well accessed by the general public, the town you were hiding in was like its own little separate world beyond the usual.
Andy had stolen himself out of his thoughts by the crisp crinkle of the receipt in his hand was almost as necessary as blowing on the cup of coffee in his hand before he had a taste.
With the weight of a case on his shoulders that was a vital step to making the defences’ argument entirely destitute, Andy could have declared himself rightfully stressed. With long hours being pulled at the office and lengthy scheduled meetings to build layer upon layer before heading to the courts, Andy was rightfully stretched thin.
However, as the cords were seemingly pulling him in every which direction, he had received confirmation from Ari, taking Andy’s name as a persona, that introductions had been made upon your arrival.
Steve, Grant, was to take a job at the local mill working on stripping lumber and smoothing it down.
Ari, Andy, was going to be taking shifts at a construction yard transporting materials to the surrounding area.
And Andy, Cole, was a travelling businessman that went in and out of town frequently, a role that would give Andy an excuse to be gone for weeks.
Arrived safe. Bunny fawn is safe — A
Andy read the message once, and then again. As he comprehended the encrypted text for the second time, he raised the cup to his lips and exhaled a soft breath to further cool his black brew. There were a number of files on his desk, a number of records that alluded to your reputation as being a good girl—an exemplary being of softness and empathy that helped anyone within your reach.
And that kindhearted was had struck you on the path of these men who wanted to strike you down to keep their crimes silenced and under wraps.
They would test your bravado; they would test you within all your boundaries of sanity in order to have you crack and crumble. There was nothing more they’d love than to have you cave and give them everything they wanted while they extended their cruel hand toward you to get what they wanted.
It was the true nature of their brutality that faced you if the brothers failed.
But you were a witness they couldn’t lose, and it was Andy, Ari & Steve’s jobs to make sure you made it to court. There was a chance to finally deepen the cracks in the system, the organization that tried to cripple an entire city with their cruelty and brutality.
There had never been an opportunity like this, to commit major players to the steel and iron walls of a highly secure federal prison, one that was untouched and unable to be infiltrated by every source they knew and had.
“Mr. Barber, there’s a call for you. Someone from New York.”
Andy waited for this.
He had sat further upright in his desk chair and set his cup down, a few beads of condensation darkening the coaster beneath the porcelain. He reached for the receiver and yanked it from its nestling hold, first hearing a beat of silence and then a crack thwack of a blade meeting something dense and sturdy.
“Barber.” The voice was concise and controlled, Andy’s name the only verbal catalyst to get the conversation rolling.
Tumblr media
You could only see slivers of moonlight that were peeking through building clouds, the promise of rain later in the early morning hours had hung over the area. While the house was still bare-boned and empty, boxes scattered with hastily packed dishes and other kitchen items were all a ploy to make this whole story more believable.
It was all a faceted cover to keep you in a safe area while somewhere else on the east coast, an entire legion of cold-blooded killers and criminals wanted you strung out because you were too kind. It was a choice you made to do good and be good, to try and help other people who needed you, that caused your life to be held in the hands of three men and the WPP they worked for.
Ari, Andy and Steve didn’t know you from Eve, they didn’t know who you truly were off of paper and out of files and yet your life depended entirely on them. Your life, your short life that barely grazed the 22nd year, was in the balance and you were meant to play the part of a young wife. A woman who was in a polyamorous relationship and new to this whole idea of having multiple husbands while in a community that was incredibly tight-knit and close.
You were cursed by your inability to mind your own business and say no. You were going to be fucked over by your innate need to be a people pleaser and overextend yourself to errands that hadn’t belonged to you.
It was your kindness that drove you to stop and grab your roommate’s prescription, saving her from going out herself. It was your inability to turn away from someone who needed help that made you a target, a witness that could put some Butcher away in a federal prison.
Your kindness, your sense of urgency to be a Good Samaritan had caused your entire life to upheaved.
And now you were in a position where you were set to play a young married wife with two men who had seen hell while in the army, and a lawyer who was deep diving into your life to build a case to protect you.
Now, you were restless.
At the moment you were unable to sleep despite the weight of the day driving you to close your eyes and find slumber.
Every time you closed your eyes you saw them, the two men abandoned in the alleyway bleeding out.
Every time your eyes shuttered you could feel the warmth of blood on your hands, the stench of copper hanging in the air while you attempted to stop the bleeding. The two men whose life had been brutalized, with one losing his life entire, and the other almost dying before the ambulance came, had set you on this path.
The men, or man, responsible for this beating had been sure that they wouldn’t live until you stepped in and when word got out that the other tangent was alive the task had been finished in the hospital room.
You were the only witness left, the only one who could possibly testify against the hellish beast that sent the two men to hades. There was more riding on your testimony and your future witnessing in the courts of law than you even knew.
If you had made it to court, you had a sneaking suspicion that you would aid in the devastation in whatever hellhound had called for the extermination of those two men.
For now, until the day came when you were thrown into court, you were going to have to keep your mind clear.
Though it was a task that was easier said than done, restfulness had found you and you had managed to shift on the bed and face the window with your hands cupped under your cheek.
Through the clouds the silver streams of moonlight had acted as a siren song, one that came over you in a haze to usher your to sleep. Your eyes grew heavy and fluttered closed like the groggy clouds shifting in the night sky, and slumber had come to you quicker than before.
Time was fickle. Time had given you sleep that felt like minutes instead of hours while simultaneously slowing down to an infinite crawl once you had stepped foot into the kitchen in the morning.
The two guards who were you faux husbands were already awake and although only Ari had been dressed for his first shift at the construction yard. The pair of jeans had been faded and worn, still in well enough shape to be used until the end of their life however you could see scuffs against the hems of the legs and a few small holes in the thighs.
Underneath the flannel he wore there was a white loose shirt with a scuff along the neckline and a small tear that could have alluded to him working with tools and lumber, just as Steve was supposed to. He truly had looked the part of a blue-collar employee, a man who was used to lugging materials and lumber around from construction yards to their destination, added by his clothing choice and the sheer size of him.
The long drive from the city to this remote and rural settlement, this closed and secured community where you’d be hidden, hadn’t affected him anymore than a single raindrop against dry sizzling earth. If anything, you were the one who’s been affected the most of the three of you, with your body aching still from the long hours in the truck, and your eyes heavy from not white enough sleep.
“Did you sleep okay?” Ari’s question bared no answer.
At least not at first.
Not until you had gotten your bearings and settled your weight on your toes instead of your heel or the ball of your foot.
Truly you didn’t know what to say to Steve and Ari, how to communicate your fears and inability to sleep due to your stress and anxiety. How could you have easily quantified your feelings while being forced to trust them despite not knowing them?
How could you open yourself up to being honest with them while feeling as if you needed to guard yourself?
Your answer was soft, mumbled and came with you rubbing your hands on your fleece-lined joggers, wiping your sweaty palms on your thighs.
“Sure.” It was a weak answer, you knew it was. It wasn’t anything close to the truth but how truthful could you really get when your head was full of garbled chaos?
“I made coffee-” Steve had just slid the porcelain cup against the cupboard toward you when a knock on the front door had rung out in the house.
Your head whipped around to face the sound, the steady knocking sounding more like an alarm than anything, and you were not the only one to think so.
“Stay here,” Steve’s hand was steady on your shoulder, directing you toward Ari and his black and red flannel, “don’t move.”
Steve brushed past you and Ari, trekking from the kitchen through an arched doorway to the front entrance, his voice calling through the door with firmness that created an illusion of a man who was not a morning person.
“Hi! Sorry to bother you!” The neighbour from yesterday called through the door, eliminating the tension almost instantly, and yet Ari still kept you close. “I thought maybe your wife might want to go to the farmers market with Sam and I.”
You heard the twist of the lock before the door opened, the subtle shift of Ari’s body next to yours had stolen your attention off of Steve and your new neighbour if only for a moment. It was enough of a distraction to allow Steve to bring Lia & Sam into the house, and even further toward the kitchen.
“Hi! Hope we’re not interrupting,” as if Lia’s gift of food yesterday wasn’t enough, she had shown up with her husband and a new basket of locally crafted jams and cookies, “Sam and I wanted to invite you to the farmers market.”
“I’m off,” Ari had whispered lightly, stooping low to kiss the top of your head as an affectionate send off, “be good, sweetheart. Grant, you going?”
“Sam, right?” Steve had stepped aside to let Ari past, and then he moved toward you, hands resting on your hips. “Nice to meet you again, yesterday was a long day on the road.”
“That’s right.” he confirmed the name with a smile and then slipped an arm around his wife’s waist, “Are you headed out to work too?”
“I’m sticking around with Danah,” hearing your fake given name for the first time with over people had been the catalyst that drew your eyebrows together in a furrow, and cast your lips into a frown, “we should go to the farmers market, love.”
This was your life for the moment, this was who you had become. This is who you were meant to be in this moment without much of an argument allowed.
For your well-being and to save your life you had to wholeheartedly accept this role as if you were born the persona, you had been assigned.
“I’d like that.” Your reply came as you accepted the basket of gifts and set it on the countertop, and then glanced down at the clothes you’d slept in, rolling your shoulders and picking at the front of the sweater. “Let me change first.”
You escaped without hearing the next spoken word, leaving the room to take the stairs back to one of the guest rooms you’d occupied while using the excuse to change as a chance to catch your breath.

What if you are Mike Weiss and Andy Barber's assistant and the only one who could stop their argument daily routine.
the idea is from this by @sweater-daddiesdumbdork her wonderful answer about this two lawyers that they're colleagues. If this is offended you I'll delete this immediately and I'm terribly sorry, I'll ask first next time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your point finger tip clicking the wooden desk and give another lawyer a tight smile. He sips his coffee and listened the argument behind and the door for several mins, then his hand slightly scratches his right face cheek.
"Sorry, but...is it a normal thing? I mean...the way the yelled and cursed and..."
"Yes, Mr. Huffman. In most of the time, they'd argue for 15 mins and stop it."
The lawyer raises his eye brows
"15 minutes? How could you be so sure?"
"Because, " You stand up and give him a smirk
"It's the limits I would bear it until I have my way to shut them up."
Let the lawyer wait for 10 more minutes, you walze in the room and close the door.
Both of Andy and Mike don't noticed you, Andy's fists clench by his sides, and rolls his shoulders back; Mike is pacing rapidly.
You move toward Andy first and keeps your silence, reach out your hands until his piercing blue eyes meet yours.
"Comfort hug? Do you want it?"
He didn't say anything, but he takes your hands and pulls you to straddle his lap, his arms cage you like iron bars and he rest his head on your shoulder as he sighs in depression.
"Mr. Huffman is waiting outside now." Andy huffed and nuzzles into your crook of neck. You stroke his hair and the back of his neck. Then he releases you and rejusts his ties.
"I'll take the room number 3." He said and leave the room.
Hearing the clicking sound of door closing, Mike turns around and opens his arms.
"Where's my cuddle, bunnycake?" You hug him and pat his lower back and waist.
"Andy and I would separate if you're not here, bunnycake."
"Nah, you and Mr.Barber are good friends and competitors."
"He is the one who could know me enough just like I do to him. But the gaps of no compromise between us made us suffer at the same time. And you're the one helping us to fill up the gaps."
He kisses your temples and takes a deep breath.
"Alright, it's time to work. See ya at later, honey bunny."

Innocent
Tumblr media
Summary: Andy gets upset when he discovers that Neal asked you out for drinks.
Pairing: Andy Barber x reader
Warnings: 18+ only, jealous!andy, swearing, things get a little rough.
Word Count: 900
A/N: Inspired by this gif @maladaptivexxdaydreaming sent me! 💜✨
Like, comment, and/or reblog to put a giant smile on my face ♡
“Why did Loguidice smugly walk out of here with a smile on his face?” Andy asked as he walked towards you.
“Hmm?” you furrowed your brows, looking up at him with a pen between your lips, feigning innocence. “I don’t know,” you slowly pulled it out. “He just offered to take me out for drinks to give me a couple pointers to strengthen my memorandums.”
His jaw ticked as he inhaled a heavy breath. “Your writing is perfect, what did you say?” he interrogated.
You tried to suppress your smile at his compliment and obvious agitation. You’d done well in your legal writing class and thought you were pretty great too, but your true reason for letting Neal Loguidice think he was taking you out on a date was to get under Andy’s skin.
Your clerkship with Andy was ending soon, and after this, you weren't certain where you’d end up for work. Although, as you watched the jealousy run across his features you knew there was one place you’d very much like to be – bent over your desk as he pounded into you mercilessly.
Of course it was unethical to want him that way, but the long hours coupled with the close proximity made you long for him. Those broad shoulders, that perfect ass, and that self-assured attitude – like he knew he could bend anyone to his will. They didn’t make men like Andy Barber anymore, and that’s why you had to have him.
Looking up at him doe-eyed, “He said I could be more clear and concise in a couple places, so I said yes.”
“You’re not going,” he declared harshly.
Your eyebrows raised at his sharp tone. “I… he’s my boss Andy. I want to be the best lawyer that I can be someday, and if he’s willing to –”
“He’s not your boss, I am. And I said you’re not going. Be sure to let him know that.”
Standing up from your desk, you walked around to get closer to Andy so that you could meet his eyeline. “But I want to go, I wanna see what he can teach me,” you smiled coyly.
“I’ll teach you, I’m a better writer than him. He’s just trying to get into your p–” he cleared his throat. Neal Loguidice was a slimeball, and he didn’t think his sweet little law clerk needed to know all the details.
You stood as close as professionally suitable, and then took one more step so that you could gaze deeply into his icy blue eyes. “Trying to get into what, Andy?”
He stared down at you for a moment and then blinked, trying to process what was happening. Sure, he flirted with you, you were too gorgeous and always so eager to please, he couldn’t help it. Even so your beauty carried an air of innocence too, one that he respected – but a deeper part of him desperately wanted to sully that. A twisted part of him wanted to know what you tasted like. Morality and honor out the door, he wanted you.
He was planning on telling you after Lynn offered you a post-bar full time position at the district attorney’s office at the end of the week. However, now with the way you were looking at him, talking about that bastard Neal taking you out, Andy knew he had to act.
“Neal is trying to get into your pants, or better yet, your skirt,” he declared, his eyes slowly trailing down your body, studying you.
You bit your lip, watching as he took you in with hungry eyes. He’d often hide his desire; every time you bent a little too low in front of him, or when you’d take off your blazer and reveal a top that showed more than he expected. You’d see the way his eyes would flutter shut, simultaneously suppressing a groan in his throat as his breathing went shallow.
“Maybe someone should,” you closed the little distance left, bringing yourself toe to toe with Andy. Knowing your time with him was limited made you bolder than you thought possible.
His eyes came to yours, and a trace of a wicked smile crossed his lips. “That what you want, honey?” he lightly trailed the back of his hand down your arm, leaving goosebumps as he went. “Want me to fuck you… right here in this office?”
You nodded, unable to push a word through your lips.
He charged you, grabbing your face in his large hands as he kissed you. His tongue slid through your lips as he backed you toward your desk, pinning you there with his hips.
You threaded your fingers into his rough beard as you kissed him back with everything you had – electricity buzzing through every cell in your body as you felt him harden against your covered core. His grip on your face was near painful, but damn did you love the way he felt, his tongue passionately dancing against yours.
His lips, his touch, his power, felt like a perfect preview for what was to come next.
“I’m going to fucking ruin you,” Andy growled against your lips.
Eager and aching, “Please,” you whimpered, your heart beating so loud you swore he could hear it.
Andy gave you a devilish grin, his eyes flickering in satisfaction at the sight of you wrecked and ready for him. “Go lock the door.”

you’re so good with asks and I have an idea, if you could…
Silverfox!Lawyer!Andy Barber finds out Jake screwed up and got a girl pregnant. Andy takes care of the baby…but could you also include a twist? Something different?
Absolutely!
The door was closed, however it didn’t stop them from their loud and cantankerous arguing nor had the closed door made it impossible for you to hear it. You could hear everything they were saying, everything Jacob Barber was screaming about you in all your ‘disgusting laudation’, the undesirable traits that made you, as a human, good enough to screw but not good enough to stay with.
Even with your pregnancy, you were seen as undesirable in his eyes. You were human and he was…something else. It was fine for you to be screwed by the man-child after a less than stellar date but now that you were pregnant…
“Once again I have to clean up your messes.” The door opened, his father and mother stepping out of the office following him. “You’re a pathetic excuse-“
“Andy!” His mother with greying hair and deep brown eyes had seethed, glaring at his father with discontent. “You need to be so harsh!”
“Laurie,” Jacob’s father spat with disgust and deplorable anger, “you ruined our son. He’s a little brat who thinks he can fuck around with anyone he wants and get away with it.”
“Our son doesn’t want to be bound to some human-“ Laurie Barber had stopped talking, she snapped her mouth shut as she settled her eyes on you. Her brown eyes appeared aged and as if they had been turned to mud, her face had turned sour and any beauty she once had was faded.
His father, however, his age had turned him into a heightened sexual being. A beautiful creature who was not deterred by age, by the silver and gray hairs and the older age, he was made more beautiful.
“Stupid whore.” Jacob growled under his breath, taking a step forward that was ceased when Andy Barber’s arm shot out and he had grabbed Jacob by the back of the neck, shoving him into the wall.
“Watch your fucking tongue, boy. Mind who you’re talking to.” Andy cursed his own son, he displayed great power before he left him to and straightened his suit jacket.
“Don’t cry, sweetheart. The little snipe isn’t worth it.” Andy addressed you with a turn of softness. “Come in to the office, we have some things to discuss.”
Andy had waited for you to walk toward him, and then he had slipped his hand upon the small of your back. He led you passed Jacob, glaring at his own son.
“Don’t worry, Jacob.” Andy growled. “I’ve taken the burden from you. Now you can return to your usual string of whores and gold-diggers.”
His hand was heavy upon your back, his scent was a mix of spice and natural woodsiness. He was tall and broad, thick and sturdy as he kept himself close to you. You could feel warmth radiating from beneath his fine suit jacket and his button down shirt.
“I should apologize for my son,” Andy had ushered you forward toward the chairs in front of the desk while he had closed the door, giving you an opportunity to study the placards hung on the wall.
He was a Harvard graduate, studying law and practicing with a reputable firm. He was a partner now and had great success, clearly becoming a very wealthy man with charm and charisma.
“Please sit,” Andy walked around the desk and came to sit on the other side, his hands folded on the surface, “my son is a real piece of work. My ex-wife, she spoiled him endlessly and he doesn’t have the self awareness to know when he needs to put his dick away.”
You rest you hand on your belly and avert your gaze, you focused back on the frames hanging up on the wall. You focused on the achievements he had garnered for himself, and then you look at the status framed.
Andy Barber was a creature, he was not entirely human like you. Creatures and beasts had different rules, different customs and ways of bonding.
“It was one night, I didn’t mean to start anything. I just…I thought he deserved to know.” You looked back at Andy, studying this beautiful man who was silvered and greyed but no less beautiful.
“You know,” Andy had reached to the right and picked up a few forms, setting them in front of himself, centred perfectly, “creatures like Jacob and myself…things are different and when he had…planted a seed, it had created a bond between you two.”
“Was I…am I..?”
“Don’t worry, sweet human.” Andy had smiled charmingly and soothingly before he cleared his throat. “You were meant to be bonded to my son however things have changed.”
“Things?” You wondered what he meant, your stomach flipping with anxiety. “I don’t-“
“My son lacks the capacity to care for anyone but himself. A bond created would have failed in every measure, he would not have cared for you or your child and you would suffer.” Andy had pushed himself to stand, his hands loosening his tie, the forms still sitting perfectly lined up.
“I however, cannot sit back and let this bond be squandered.” Your heart raced, your palms had begun sweating.
“Where my son has failed, I will not.” Andy stopped before you, he reached for your hand and squeezed. “The bond is unbreakable, but it can be transferred. I have taken the bond upon myself.”
“I-I don’t understand…” you found it impossible to breathe, nothing was making sense and your head was pounding. “What is-“
“For all intents and purposes, you are mine now. You are my responsibility and my partner, mates if you would. You will be recognized as my woman, my human woman, and your child…it is now my child.”
“Mr. Barber-“
“Andy, sweet girl.” His smile was still charming, despite his possessiveness. “You can call me Andy, Mrs. Barber.”
