How about a little Saturday transformation? That’s not a thing? Oh well. . Pretty much. This is pretty much what motherhood looks like for me on a regular basis - sitting on the floor, kids begging to sit on me then immediately running away, me in my ripped jeans, almost certainly laughing. We laugh a LOT these days with these wild, chatty, and clever boys. (Huge thanks to @chantellewattphoto for capturing us so perfectly.) . I found out I was pregnant on Mother's Day 3 years ago. Despite what then felt like a lifetime of waiting and trying to have a baby, I took the plunge and took a pregnancy test alone at home on Mother's Day. It could have ended badly, but I had a feeling it wouldn't. Call it mother's intuition? . Motherhood is NOTHING like I expected it to be before I had kids. I have laughed at myself so many times for doing all the things I said I'd never do, like letting my kids watch TV. I turned out to be a much more laid back mom in some areas, and waaaaaaay more uptight than I anticipated in others. . I've surprised myself with my own physical strength over these past 3 years, and I haven't worked out more than a handful of times in that time period. . I've also become much softer - physically and emotionally - and I've learned to accept and love that about myself, too (most days). . I've figured out that I don't make a very good stay at home mom, that I lose my patience more quickly when I'm not working outside of our home, and that I'm a way better mom when I'm pursuing my career dreams. I don't feel as guilty about all of that anymore, but it took a lot of time to get here. . Reflecting on who I was, who I have come to be, and who I am becoming as a woman, wife and mom is something I try to do often because I always end up surprised at what I learn about myself. . Pure joy. Porch Styling. What a magnificent Houston home @meglonerganinteriors I loved the green porch ceiling. I loved the graphic painted floor.
