Multiple Mortal Probations

According to the history and doctrine, it’s likely that Joseph Smith secretly taught a form of reincarnation, referred to in Mormon theology as “multiple mortal probations.” It aligns interestingly with the Adam-God doctrine and—just like that concept—has been denied and scuttled away by modern Mormon leaders. There are three winners for each platform, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

ENTRY IN THIS CONTEST CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES.

ELIGIBILITY. Saints: The LDS Story Art Giveaway Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open to individuals 18 years of age and older. A parent or legal guardian’s consent is required to participate for entrants under the legal age of majority in their state of primary residence (a “Minor”). The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. SWEEPSTAKES SUBMISSION PERIOD. Sweepstakes will begin at 8 a.m. Mountain Time (“MT”) on November 1, 2018 and will end at 11:59:00 p.m. MT on November 24th, 2018 (the “Sweepstakes Period"). Sponsor’s time clock is the official clock for the Sweepstakes. Winner will be notified via messaging.

HOW TO ENTER. To enter during the Sweepstakes Period, entrants are to artistically depict a scene, quote, or whatever else their imagination limits them to on the pages of the “Saints: The Story of the Church of Jesus Christ in the Latter Days” book. Entrants are not limited to doodling, and may use the pages of the book as the canvas of their imagination. 

Entrants are to tag Saints: The LDS Story (Twitter: @churchhistory, Instagram: @saints_lds_story, Facebook: @LDShistory) and when possible use #SaintsArtStory to have their artwork entered into consideration.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS.  Entries must not contain any obscene, profane, lewd, defamatory, or inappropriate matter as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.  Any entry deemed unsuitable by Sponsor, in its sole discretion, will be disqualified.

GRAND PRIZE WINNER, WINNER SELECTION.  Three winners (the “Winner”) will be selected by social media followers via voting. There will be one Grand Prize, second place, and third place winner for Twitter, one Grand Prize, second place, and third place winner for Instagram, and one Grand Prize, second place, and third place winner for Facebook. Winners will be notified by via messaging on their respected platforms.

PRIZES, APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE (“ARV”) & ODDS. The Grand Prize winner will receive a copy of the artwork found on the cover of “Saints: The Story of the Church of Jesus Christ in the Latter Days,” as well as a copy of “Saints: The Story of the Church of Jesus Christ in the Latter Days.” ARV of the Grand Prize is $35.00 US dollars. 

Second place winners will receive a copy of the artwork found on the cover of “Saints: The Story of the Church of Jesus Christ in the Latter Days.”

Third place winners will receive a copy of “Saints: The Story of the Church of Jesus Christ in the Latter Days.”

Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received during the Sweepstakes Period.  No substitution, cash redemption or transfer of Grand Prize is permitted except at Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. If the Grand Prize, or any portion thereof, cannot be awarded for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute the Grand Prize of equal or greater value. All federal, state and local taxes, and all other costs associated with acceptance or use of the Grand Prize, are the sole responsibility of the Winner. Arrangements for delivery of the Grand Prize will be performed after Winner validation. At the Sponsor’s discretion, unclaimed prizes may not be awarded.

GENERAL RULES: Winner will be notified via inbox message. By participating, Entrants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor from and against any and all liability or damages associated with this Sweepstakes or acceptance, use or misuse of the Grand Prize received in this Sweepstakes. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer or administration of the Sweepstakes. Acceptance of the Grand Prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor and their agencies to use Winner’s names and likenesses for purposes of advertising and publicity without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Minha Escolha!

Certa vez, quando eu era pequeno me perguntaram o que eu queria ser quando crescer, eu falava que queria ser do exército, mas quando me alistei, de cara fui dispensado!

Mas tive o privilégio de servir um exército, e posso dizer, antes de eu me casar foi a experiência mais fantástica de minha vida!

Sou membro de A Igreja de Jesus Cristo dos santos dos últimos dias desde o dia 17 de outubro de 1998.

Foi a melhor escolha que fiz, foi me tornar membro da Igreja.

Na verdade antes de ser batizado, eu sempre busquei a Deus, mas sabia que faltava algo a mais, e é aí onde entra a Igreja!

Não vou falar de como foi que eu entrei pra esse estilo de vida esplendido que existe na Terra, vou falar um pouco do serviço missionário que fiz!

O ano de 2003, foi ano mais tenebroso e desafiador de minha vida. Tive uma namorada que depois de um tempo, vi que desperdicei muito tempo com ela que não volta, provações e desafios, mas graças ao apoio dos meus pais e meu bispo, consegui superar tudo e me preparar para esse serviço tão sagrado!

Em novembro, recebi minha designação assinada pelo Profeta Gordon B. Hinckley para servir na missão Brasil Ribeirão Preto (A Poderosa).

no dia 22 de janeiro deveria me apresentar no CTM (centro de treinamento missionário) em São Paulo, por lá fiquei 19 dias desfrutando de grande conhecimento e experiências espirituais que me ajudaram muito na missão!

No dia 2 de fevereiro cheguei em Ribeirão Preto e foi uma sensação maravilhosa e diferente de estar num lugar simples, mas por mim é um lugar muito especial, recebido por outro missionário e nosso Presidente Simplicio e sua esposa, que nos cuidaram muito bem !

Conheci muitos missionários fantásticos, que me ensinaram muito, cada um tenho um respeito muito grande!

Mas o mais especial, são as histórias que pude fazer parte, cada pessoa que pude ajudar a conhecer o evangelho de Cristo e ver a mudança em suas vidas, isso é gratificante, mas a vida que eu sei que mudou de mais nesse período, foi a minha.

Pude conhecer um pouco mais o meu Salvador Jesus Cristo.

Aprendi realmente o que é o amor ao próximo!

Uma experiência:

Passei em uma área chamada Vila Virgínia em Ribeirão Preto e conheci pessoas tão especiais que foi o lugar mais incrível de trabalhar.

Certa vez, uma irmã da Igreja veio com dinheiro para nosso almoço e perguntei a ela quando poderíamos ir a sua casa para almoçar e ela explicou que há um tempo atrás teve um problema com seu marido, que nós não podíamos ir lá.

Passado alguns dias, percebi que o bispo era amigo do esposo dessa irmã e conversei com o bispo pra gente ajudar a ele.

Resultado, fui a sua casa, conversei com ele e hoje é um membro firme e fiel da Igreja.

Sou grado por essa e outras experiências que me ajudaram a ser quem eu sou.

Faz mais de 10 anos que retornei desse trabalho fantástico, tenho uma linda e maravilhosa esposa e 3 queridos e abençoados filhos, continuo nesse caminho estreito e apertado, e bota apertado ein, que nos leva a presença do Pai Celestial!

Sou grato á Deus por ouvir minhas orações, e por Cristo ser o nosso Salvador e por hoje o evangelho ser restaurado.

Cada dia que vivo é uma enorme benção em minha vida e esse serviço que tenho certeza que nunca vai parar.

Hoje minha irmã mais nova também é uma missionária  e serve no Chile!

Deus nunca deixa seus filhos, pois é um Pai amoroso e ama a cada um individualmente.

🎙️ Today I salute those of you that have mental health obstacles in life. I know first ✋ how hard it can be, because I was recently diagnosed with PTSD. What that does to someone, is something people will never understand. 🙃It's hard. 😎But, that's life. No one ever told you this would be easy, ever scar, every fighting breath I have taken over the last 9 months, have been truly hard. Losing 3 very close loved ones all in the matter of a couple months has tore me to pieces inside, but guess what❓ I still go to work with a billion dollar smile on my face, because it's called responsibility. Looking through the latest volume of the Joseph Smith Papers (vol. 7, published Tuesday) at work, I found a letter from Emma Hale Smith to her husband, dated 12/06/1839. While its contents are fairly ordinary, it’s a beautiful example both of Emma’s voice and of her relationship with Joseph. This is the final paragraph of that letter, which has reduced me to tears more than once over the course of the morning. 😭Today, I was granted peace. I spoke with my mother, on her death bed. In her final hours ahead, that she has left in her life, I can't help but to think if she's at peace. My mother has always been distant, she's never been the one to tell anyone anything.
