born too late to experience the music scene of the 70s and 80s myself, born too early to travel back in time to do so, born at just the right time to have had music and choir teachers who were teenagers/young adults around that time and showed their students in the 2000s all the awesome 70s/80s music in class <3

Today, on Hector Berlioz's birthday, we showing the original poster of the very first performance of his opera “Benvenuto Cellini” at the Vienna Opera on February 25, 1911. There were only five performances and only conducted that evening Felix Weingartner. After the first act, the concert piece, which is still popular today, became "Le carnaval romain" played.

Le Meneur, or just Meneur! One of my more villainous characters, and a ghost ringleader, with your typical "deal with the devil" schtick! The mask acts like a face (as in, it changes expressions), and he can turn any part of him 360 degrees. The limbs can kind of act independently but too far away from him (I think like... as long as it feasibly still looks like it's a part of him. not behind a wall, for example.) Also kind of difficult to see, but he has blond strands of hair/straw! Common motifs are cards (especially king of diamonds), dice, circuses, chess pieces, jukeboxes, riddles, contracts. c: In terms of mannerisms he is very swooshy and melodramatic! Wicked Fascinations by Circus Contraption is what I'd imagine him to sound like (I describe it as a melodramatic tire squeal voice because I am not very good with descriptions c’: ). Very much is the manipulative type, really enjoys games, and while he won't necessarily cheat, he is very, very good at finding loopholes and lies of omission. If YOU cheat however, that's fair game to him; operates on "an eye for an eye" logic. Also something of an illusionist! He'll oblige with a friendly no-consequences game though (he loves riddles especially). Something of a neglected character of mine in terms of story. While I enjoy drawing him very much, he is in dire need of development. I do still want him to have that disney-depth muahaha villain aspect though. :'D

STARGAZER’S DREAM ABILITIES AND SLEEP POWERS 

As mentioned before that Stargazer has the ability to conjure other people’s dreams into walkable / explorable spaces , take of it as a surrealistic world that you can wander around in a sleep state .     The case for Stargazer is different , she can conjure multiple dream worlds within her own head due to her nature as the master of dreams , but for others , she can only conjure one .     The main dream world reflects the current psyche of its owner , so just with one glance of your dream world , Stargazer can easily tell whether or not you’re suffering unresolved emotional issues .   

Those who have experienced extreme bouts of traumatic incidents , anxiety , and depression usually have dark / gloomy skies or atmospheric ambiences , almost nightmarish but it depends on the person .   Those who don’t suffer that much have lighter / brighter skies and friendlier / whimsical dream worlds . 

Dream worlds can change depending on the current mental state of its owner , so those who have started with dark / nightmarish worlds can eventually have more brighter yet melancholic spaces .    And those who started with bright and fantastical dream worlds end up with more corroded / nightmarish dream worlds the more their mental state declines . 

Sometimes showing other people the current state of their dream world takes a physical and mental toll to Stargazer that there are times where she retreats to her own dream world and falls asleep for days .   Mallow often accompanies her during these periods considering he doesn’t want her to be alone in her dreams .  

Stargazer’s ability to drag people to sleep with her powder can be dangerous because she can manipulate how long you’ll be asleep , so she also has the ability to force people into a comatose state .    People who die in their dream worlds and nightmares don’t really die in real life , but Stargazer’s presence is an outliar , because if she has the ability to trap and kill people in their dreams .     Fortunately , she has rarely done this , but she has done this for grisly criminals .  

Stargazer’s not the strongest physically in the waking world , but once you’re caught in her dust and you’re asleep ?   You’re completely under her mercy .

Le grand carnaval de Pollestres revient pour une 3ème édition encore plus farfelue ! Rendez-vous dimanche 3 mars, en cœur de ville.
