hello hello!! hope you're doing well <3 so i saw ships were open again... and i did get one as an anon a while ago, but the format has changed for the 10k so back i am for your amazing writing <3

i'd love to be shipped with someone from the boys!! (i do feel bad requesting for specific characters even though it's incredibly easy to see who i want to smooch in this show. i love them all though and above all love to see authors get creative. go crazy go bonkers. ok with any character but the deep, homelander, stormfront, and firecracker.)

i'm a bi & ace jewish brazilian girl, 1.72m tall, with long, straight, brown hair (that i've always thought about dying but always chickened out of). no tattoos, even though i have a list of which ones i'd get and what do they mean. i'm from brazil but currently go to college in new york, majoring in theatre and minoring in translation. i'm fluent in portuguese and english, learning french, and have the life objective of becoming a polyglot.

i'm in love with theatre, literary analysis, linguistics, music, writing, and art in general — will absolutely ramble about anything i am interested in, and also might have strong opinions on stuff that maybe i didn't need to have a strong opinion on 💀 i can get a bit combative about that at times... i definitely take as my biggest skill, besides singing and acting which are quite literally my intended job (i want to be a musical theatre actress), eloquence and just my way with words (toxic trait is believing i'd talk my way out of a murder fr fr). friends that know me more recently would even say i'm an extrovert because of that, but honestly i am a pile of nerves of an introvert with social anxiety that simply loves yapping and putting on a show. most notable quirk/habit might be how precise i always am with finding the right words because i simply cannot leave an opening for misinterpretation (and that's on anxiety and a suspicion of undiagnosed adhd oops); that might lead me to be a bit picky (for the lack of a better word), specific, and/or literal with the words other people use as well.

other tidbits: i can't cook for shit, i love cats (i have a rescue named lily) but also like dogs a lot, i love kids and have been told i'm good with them. i'm crazy lucky for some reason and i love crime comedy movies. i'm almost always writing or thinking about writing but i can't ever finish a project (and you may have realized by now i write too much). i love arts & crafts & other manual activities, i do knot friendship bracelets to de-stress. my default hangout with anyone ever is grabbing coffee. i'm also pretty proud of my music taste — from alt rock to 40s-50s music, love curating the vibes and i'm a bit of a playlist freak. also i would 100% show brazilian music (mostly rock and mpb, brazilian popular music) to whoever i'm paired with 💥🇧🇷

when it comes to love life oh boy i am a disaster — the two situations i have ever gotten myself into were the objective hottest girl i know and the weirdest guy i've ever come across (and both are my good friends atm). for me doing something creative, like a project together, is the quickest way to bond; and being in cahoots with someone is the deepest form of connection. let's ramble about our interests, be weird together, cause a diplomatic crisis, watch a movie, write something, idk.

Annie is actually blown away by both your love of and intelligence with languages. She's always trying to learn both Portuguese and French sayings (mostly nicknames/"I love you") to surprise you. She loves the look of joy on your face when you realize what she's trying to say. Her pronunciation could use some work, but it's still very adorable

It melts Annie's heart when she sees you around children. She knows it can be a lot, with kids and their parents running up to her, asking her for pictures, showing off their Starlight costumes. She would understand it got a little exhausting. But you have never minded, instead you ask them questions and make them laugh, telling them they're little superheroes, too

Annie feels like she can truly be herself around you. After all those years with the religious conventions and the time she spent with Vought, she was never allowed to be herself. She couldn't show off her real laugh that's squeaky and high-pitched. She couldn't swear as a teenager or say all the crude jokes she thought of. With you, though, she can let loose. She doesn't have to uphold this image like she's had to her whole life

You and Annie are as equally terrible at cooking. You make a plan to cook together, learning recipes and measurements. Sometimes the food gets burned, or worse, under cooked, and a few times you've had to split it out, wondering where you went wrong? But, overall, it builds your skills together and it makes you feel better about your lack of skills

Annie comes to every show you're in at least three times. She'll bring Hughie and Kimiko first, then M.M. and Frenchie, and the third time she goes along, wanting to see you in your glory, feeling like this moment belongs to her. She shows up with flowers every time and tells you parts and songs she's loved as if you hadn't spent weeks practicing lines and songs with her. She's so proud of you, she can't contain herself. She definitely happy cries at the end when you take your bows!

Kimiko!

Your affinity with language and theatrics is what initially caught Kimiko's attention! With how much she appreciates art and music, your singing and acting is such an inspiration for her to express herself.

In the beginning, Kimiko had been incredibly cautious and closed off. When Butcher or M.M would talk shit, you and Frenchie would be the first ones to her defense. Your combative nature is inspiring to Kimiko- she loves how opinionated you are, and how willing you are to stand up for what you believe in.

I’d say one of the first things that got the two of you to bond is making friendship bracelets together. It started out with Kimiko watching you de-stress after a particularly rough encounter with a Supe. The repetitive motion seemed to steady your shaking hands, and Kimiko couldn’t help but wonder if making bracelets with you would help with her own stress and anxiety- after that, it's history

Kimiko's mutism definitely doesn't stop her from joining in the conversation. She began teaching you sign language not long after Frenchie. He would help give you additional lessons/practice.

I would imagine you pick up on Kimiko's SL pretty quickly, given your proficiency with language, but even if it took you a while, Kimiko just appreciates the effort and compassion, not to mention how clear and precise you are with your wording- A refreshing change to The Boys never really saying what they mean.

Your shy nature makes Kimiko pretty protective of you. Even knowing how combative you can be, Kimiko prefers to back you up, no matter what. Every time you say something, Kimiko signs either agreeing with you or emphasizing your point.

I think Kimiko would ask you to dance and sing with/for her all the time. She loves the variety of music you listen to, and can't get enough of your voice. Teach her some new dance moves and she'll be so happy

Dates between the two of you either consist of staying in and watching movies or going to get a quick coffee (you two have snuck out with Frenchie on more than one occasion, to M. M.'s dismay)

Bonus Ship- Frenchie!

It was honestly a tough tossup between Frenchie and Kimiko so I thought I'd add Frenchie in as a bonus, I hope that's alright

Obviously he'd love how passionate and skilled you are when it comes to language- absolutely helps teach you French.

Like Kimiko, Frenchie loves how artistically inclined you are. He'll join in singing and dancing with you, all in good fun. He's probably high as a Kite, so you can expect him to be a bit unsteady on his feet, but the enthusiasm is there

You're gonna get this dude hooked on Brazilian music. His taste is so varied that I think he'd have a great time being introduced to all of your music- even if he doesn't love it, he appreciates you sharing part of your life with him

Frenchie is more than happy to cook for you and teach you if you're interested- but mainly enjoys being able to take care of you, even if its something as small as making you breakfast

You and Annie meet at a small coffee shop while you're both grabbing coffee. The university you go to in The Boys' universe is twenty minutes away from Vought Tower (it's notorious for feeding non-supes to Vought for corporate work, NGL) and though the coffee shop itself is a bit out of the way, Annie enjoys not having the big swarms at Vought's Jitter Bean.

It's a very, very sappy meet-cute: you drop a textbook for one of your gen eds, Annie picks it up, and as you stutter out an apology — you just dropped your textbook in front of Annie "Starlight" January! — she's enamored.

What can I say? She lives for anxious energy.

It starts out slow. You meet right when she becomes part of the Seven, and as we know, things are rough starting out. Still, she finds herself going to that same coffee shop not just to avoid the crowd, but in hopes of seeing you, Cute Textbook Girl, again.

She starts bringing in some of her more secretarial/paperwork-y tasks in to the café, and, eventually, politely asking for a seat next to you turns into genuine conversations, which then turns into her walking you home when you both ended up staying there too late (thank God for 24/7 coffee shops in NYC). After a good month of pining after you, Starlight finally gets the courage to ask you out, probably a few days or so before the Believe Expo. She'd been terrified to due to Vought essentially marketing her as an All-American Christian Girl-Next-Door!!! Barbie doll, but as she continues to uncover the corruption of Vought, the most important thing to her is being true to herself and to the rest of the world.

And to you, the cute girl.

This... kind of... works out in both of your favor? While Vought is pissed at first — Ashley would definitely rant about how "we already have a lesbian!" in reference to our bisexual queen Maeve — they use y'all as the Token Gays™ (as well as showing that Supe and Non-Supe relationships are great, never question the power!) and parade you around pride festivals. When June comes, pictures of you two are on every billboard in NYC.

Enough about Vought, though: Annie adores you. She is endlessly impressed by your linguistic abilities and especially your work in college. Due to her Supe upbringing, college had been pretty out of the question for her, but even if it wasn't, she'd have a hard time figuring out what she wanted to do besides something in public-service. You being so passionate about theatre is admirable to her, especially since it's artistic. In the world of "The Boys", there's not a lot of genuine creativity, and you're a very rare gem to her because of that.

Because of that, expect tons, tons, tons of kisses and back rubs while you're stressing over assignments.

Also, any and all performances you have always are attended by Annie, complete with a bouquet of your favorite flowers and dessert afterward. She gets deep into whatever you are performing, even if she knows the plot of it.

She also loves how well-spoken you are. While well-spoken, Annie is one of those people who forgets words that she wants to use constantly, particularly when she's stressed or ill, and you are a beacon of light for her during those times.

For example, while Annie's trying to work on a case report on thirty minutes of sleep: "Honey, what's the word for that thing that hospitals roll people in on?" ... "A stretcher?" ... "Oh my God, thank you!"

And on that note, some pet names she has for you: honey, baby, and sweetie. She's a born-and-raised Midwesterner.

Annie's the kind of person who has a good music taste, but gets stuck on listening to the same music constantly — she's a creature of habit — so she loves the music you listen to. It's not something she's heard a lot, especially the Brazilian music, so she listens to your music religiously and loves creating Spotify Blends for the two of you.

Expect to share your wardrobe with each other.

Outside of knowing very basic sign language, Annie is monolingual, so she loves hearing you speak other languages. After stressful days, all she wants is to lay in bed with you while you read out something in Portuguese or French. She loves your voice.

Annie is pretty busy a great chunk of the time, but she always finds ways to incorporate you in her life, whether it's just having you by her side while she rifles through paperwork or she's secretly talking to you through an earpiece about Love Island (mark my words, Annie loves trashy reality TV) on patrols.

Because of that, too, she tries her best to surprise you whenever she finds some time off, some of these including reservations at your favorite restaurant, impromptu road trips, or even tickets to one of your favorite artists' concerts.

While Annie prefers that you don't get extremely involved in the work she does due to how dangerous it is (while Hughie was one thing since he was already involved by the time of their canonical relationship, you started as an outsider) she knows you are extremely smart and capable, so she always tells the truth to you. If you wanted to get involved, she'd take a bit of convincing, but would ultimately trust your judgment and competency (which you have a lot of!) and introduce you to The Boys.

And that brings us to...

The Boys ☻

Hands down, Frenchie and Kimiko are your best friends in The Boys. They're friendly to you from the get-go, but once they figure out that you can A) fluently speak Portuguese and English, B) are learning French), and C) have the goal of learning four languages, they are set. They greatly value people who find ways to communicate with others, even with language barriers, so they saddle up to you very quickly.

You catch onto sign language pretty quickly, meaning you all talk massive shit, particularly when Butcher is going onto one of his tirades towards Hughie.

Whenever you all have free time, you, Kimiko, and Frenchie all have movie nights that end in super deep conversations half of the time.

Also... they insist on you performing monologues for them in French/Sign Language, particularly extremely crude ones. Believe it or not, the two have an immature sense of humor sometimes. I mean, how else do you get through the days in The Boys universe?

Butcher likes you — don't get me wrong — but because of your rambling and readiness to defend the member of the team he disagrees with the most (Annie), he can be pretty harsh on you. He also teases you and Annie constantly, which isn't the best, either.

For example, when you and Annie were having a very personal, sweet conversation: "oi, you two done scissoring yet?" (queue Annie's sunbeam eyes).

He also caught on to how firmly you stand by your passions quickly, and when he's bored or trying to prove a point, will rile you up. He's a bit of a dick. Sorry.

M.M. really, really likes you. Though he doesn't get to talk to you too much due to being the backbone of the coup, he thinks you're a sweetheart, and always makes a point to greet you and make some small talk when you stop by, even if he's pretty visibly and audible stressed.

However, while your interactions with him aren't as plentiful as they could be, you two end up in the office together quite a lot, and you get our boy hooked on Brazilian music. Mark my words, that man wordlessly shows up in merch of an artist you showed him every other week.

Hughie is a very good friend to you. While you two don't have a lot of overlapping interests, what you do have is an ability to explain your passions and get others invested in them, so you two are forces to be reckoned with (particularly for Butcher, the cranky geezer). It is Yap Central™ when you two are in a room together, and your similar energies pair really well together, making you two quite the comedic duo.

(Also, because of you, whenever Hughie's freaking out on a mission, he recites musical theatre facts he'd heard from you to call himself down).

So, even with Butcher's assholery, trust me: you've got a very good group of people by your side, and they love you.

A LONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR FAR A— *micky mouse sniper gunshots*

we find ourselves in the Wild West of space, where outlaws and criminals can do whatever the hell they want while those supposedly in charge look the other way to protect their own interests

Captain Leonore “Leo” Callisto of the Siren leads a small crew doing various gigs and odd jobs for people all around the sector. yknow, smuggling shit, stealing shit, selling stolen or rare shit, etc

but after the team’s spy, Zeya (who Leo was showing favoritism to for No Particular Reason) takes off with a shitton of money after a spat with Leo, the rest of the crew, no longer trusting Leo’s judgement, decides to ditch her as well, save 2 loyal but very inexperienced members: engineer Gabriola “Gabi” Franco and the crew’s muscle Euna Li

okay so that’s the context, now let’s get to the plot

while searching for work on Space Kijiji, Leo comes upon an offer from a rich, eccentric art collector calling themself the Curator, offering a large money reward to steal a statuette from the House of Dyonas, a powerful and wealthy family on the planet Vihelda that passes along wispy purple telekinesis powers from generation to generation

the statuette is one of the two Gemini Statuettes, which are believed to depict a pair of twins in the Dyonas family from a few generations ago, but the House Head, Andlyn Dyonas, refuses to sell, so the most logical thing to do is to pay someone to steal it, as one does

strapped for cash, Leo accepts, even tho the House of Dyonas is notoriously hard to get into (she has a few tricks up her sleeve ofc, including getting one of the Dyonas House Heirs, the runaway Illiana, to help her)

BUT as she and her tiny ragtag crew embark on this quest, they quickly learn that they’re not the only ones with their eyes on this prize, and ~someone~ on a quest to sabotage them always seems to be a step ahead 👀

claims to be an “honest criminal” but yeah that’s a lie, along with pretty much everything else that comes out of her mouth

secretly did unauthorized repairs on cyborg parts for people who couldn’t afford it, but got caught and got in Big Trouble

anyways now she has a criminal record hanging over her head and massive student debt lmao

idealistic, arguably naive, trying to toughen up (but isn’t very good at it)

has a MASSIVE gay crush on Euna. she thinks she’s being subtle about it but like EVERYONE has noticed. (except for Euna herself, of course.)

and then the Accident™ happened in which she lost her arm, and she was swindled into buying a super expensive cybernetic prosthesis bc she thought it would enhance her performance with the circus

but since it took “too long” for her to recover, the circus managers replaced her without even telling her :( so she pretty much joined the Sirens to pay off her medical bills rip

has an identical twin sister, Kalenora Ismerie, First Heir to the House of Dyonas (yes all their names are like this), who is a few minutes older

Illiana has always been better than Kalen at mastering their inherited powers, which has caused ~tension~ between the sisters over who gets to be the next House Head when their father dies

so Kalen did *stuff* to secure her position and forced Illiana to go on the run and hide out in what is essentially Space Las Vegas under an alias

she gets roped into the heist to help them get into the House of Dyonas, although she is very reluctant to go back there (but is very tired of washing dishes in some dingy Space Vegas bar)

she will get her loyalties tested in more ways than one <3

im gonna talk abt the supe side because it’s you

jack has been safeguard since he was 17, and he’s 21 right now- four years of protecting neighborhoods and taking art history classes

he figures an art museum curator might be a smart job for him- he can keep an eye on anyone who could be scouting to steal or destroy anything

jack’s powers are… inventive. i personally get a little bored with very basic powers, and jack’s the artist so im sure he would too! along his four year journey, he’s gone from making forcefields when he was first learning, then these diamond-shaped shields (he’ll like. conjure them over his forearms like a boxer blocking attacks <3), then being able to splinter apart his shields into shards he could command. he can also pull things toward himself- right now i guess he’d be learning how to push things away/throw things away from himself!

he also has usual metahuman stuff- stronger than an average person, more durable, and since his power is forcefield-based, he has a healing factor! describing bones stitching themselves together again is really fun, you all should try it :)

this healing only applies to physical injuries— jack actually gets sick really easily in contrast to his quick surface healing. also if his energy is in the garbage then he heals much slower. like he’s def not invincible he gets his ass kicked fr

charlie is his best friend from high school, certified columbia university genius in computer science. he’s the only person jack has told about his powers, and has helped jack test his abilities for years making notes of any changes and analyzing new ones in order to let jack continue a) safely and b) with more control. both are aware of the mixed opinion on superheroes, and they try to do everything by the book to uh…. basically not get arrested. if the people like safeguard, it’ll be a scandal if nypd tries to do shit.

charlie is also probably the better of the two of them at detective work not gonna lie here. since it’s you winter he. charlie is oracle. let’s be honest here. he’s got a sick computer setup, he’s the voice in jack’s ear, and will kick ass if necessary.

she put basically every song she knows onto one playlist and named it "JESSIES ULTIMATE PLAYLIST." it's inordinately long (fr it's like a 500-hour playlist). she always shuffles it and it gives james whiplash because it'll jump from like hyperpop to norah jones to "fuck tha police" but jess loves it because she doesn't get bored. james taught her how to upload a picture as the playlist cover and she added a selfie. she changes it like once a week

(i like to imagine that jessie tried to learn various instruments when she was growing up but never had the patience to dedicate herself to learning any of them or the money for lessons, but she loves to sing and does it all the time.)

he's made like 43 playlists that are curated to fit very specific emotions/vibes. they download random images from pinterest that fit those vibes to add as cover art for each playlist. aaaand almost all of the playlists are created with the songs in a certain order to be listened to from start to finish.

james's music tastes are fairly broad. for example i can see them having a pop-punk playlist with mcr & fall out boy & p!atd & avril lavigne, an emo rap playlist with brockhampton & kevin abstract & milo, a sadboi playlist with like the front bottoms & modern baseball & fidlar, and a classics playlist with elvis & the rolling stones & janis joplin, and listening to all of these on the same day.

The Poetics Of Reason

The fifth edition of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale is out, after a careful evaluation of the 48 applications received from 16 countries. The French architect Éric Lapierre developed an inclusive and expanded program based on theoretical and practical activities of educators and researchers together with the team members Sébastien Marot, Mariabruna Fabrizi, Fosco Lucarelli, Ambra Fabi, Giovanni Piovene, Laurent Esmilaire and Tristan Chadney.

Since 2007, Lisbon Architecture Triennale has been developing its mission as a non-profit organization fostering debate, thinking and practice in Architecture. The chairman João Mateus mentioned that instead of producing catalogues, the aim is to produce books with the knowledge, which can be understandable and shareable by everyone and not just architects.

Ambra Fabi and Giovanni Piovene’s question What is Ornament? for opening different angles of inquiry instead of calling for definitive answers and in such way blueing boundaries among disciplines and finally Natural Beauty curated by Laurent Esmilaire and Tristan Chadney gathers student project from the Lisbon Triennale Millennium bop Universities Award competition and works from architects from the 13th century to the present day.

More than ever before, The Poetics of Reason stands as a condition to define an architecture for our contemporary ordinary condition. As a result of massification of construction, such a condition implies that everybody is entitled to understand architecture without a specific background in the field.

At the her 88th birthday Denise Scott Brown was awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award, based on criteria of excellence in the contribution to architecture as hers is one of the indispensable voices in 20th century architecture.

Curatorial Team

Éric Lapierre (FR) teaches design and theory of architecture at École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture in Marne-la-Vallée Paris Est, and in École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and has been guest teacher at Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio, Université de Montréal (UdM), Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), and KU Leuven in Ghent.

Sébastien Marot (FR) holds a Master’s in Philosophy and a PhD in History. He has written extensively on the genealogy of contemporary theories in architecture, urban design and landscape architecture. He is currently a professor at the École d’Architecture de Paris-Est, and guest professor at the EPFL (Enac) and GSD Harvard (as part of a programme on the Countryside led by Rem Koolhaas and AMO). Editor-in-chief of Le Visiteur (from 1995 to 2002) and Marnes (since 2010), he has authored several books, such as Sub- Urbanism and the Art of Memory (AA Publications 2003) and the critical re-edition of Ungers and Koolhaas’s The City in the City: Berlin, A Green Archipelago (Lars Müller 2013).

Fosco Lucarelli (IT) and Mariabruna Fabrizi (IT) are architects, educators and curators. They are currently based in Paris where they have founded the practice Microcities and the website Socks-studio. They teach design studios and theory courses at the Éav&t, in Paris and at the EPFL in Lausanne. F.Lucarelli was 2017-18 Garofalo fellow at the UIC School of Architecture in Chicago; he is the recipient of a grant from the Graham Foundation and he is a fellow at the American Academy in Rome. M.Fabrizi is currently head of the Architectural Drawing and Representation Department at the Éav&t, in Paris. Fabrizi and Lucarelli have been guest-curators at the 2016 Lisbon Architecture Biennale. Theirs works have been awarded and exhibited in New York, Paris, Rome, Orléans, Seoul, Chicago.

Ambra Fabi (IT) graduated in Architecture in Mendrisio and has worked as art director and project leader at Peter Zumthor and as a freelance architect in Milan. In 2012, together with Giovanni Piovene, she founded PIOVENEFABI. She assisted at the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio and she is currently teaching at the KU Leuven in Brussels and at École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture in Marne-la-Vallée Paris Est.

Giovanni Piovene (IT) graduated in Architecture in Venice. In 2007 he co- founded the office Salottobuono, of which he has been partner until 2012. He co-founded San Rocco Magazine (2010) and curated the ‘Book of Copies’ book and exhibition (2014). He assisted at the Accademia diArchitettura di Mendrisio and he is actually part of the FORM teaching unit in École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). He is currently teaching at École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture in Marne-la-Vallée Paris Est.

Laurent Esmilaire (FR) worked at the offices Bernard Tschumi and Fres. Since 2011, he works at the office Éric Lapierre Experience and as assistant teacher at the École d’Architecture de la Ville et des Territoires de Marne-la- Vallée since 2014.

Tristan Chadney (UK) works at the office Éric Lapierre Experience since 2013, and as assistant teacher at the École d’Architecture de la Ville et des Territoires de Marne-la-Vallée since February 2016.

Hello all sorry I’ve been MIA for a hot second!! I’m going to be doing a lot of little posts of my super fun weekend to UCLA and UCSD and hopefully this week a recap on my grad progress! It’s been a week; mostly struggling with family, close relationships, and finances, but otherwise good overall and still on a high from this weekend.

My interests are changing so much lately: as of right now my top graduate program is an MScR of Cultural Studies at the University of Edinburgh - College of Art -- and potentially looking at taking that to a PhD in Art. When did I move from sustainable development to art?? I think something in me decided I want to work towards a career that is self-satisfying, and too often I have been letting the opinions of others dictate my academic and career choices. While I still love sustainable development, I am going to try to shift my thesis focus slightly to include material culture and story-telling related topics and try to get involved in work relating to museums. (curating???)

Happy that I feel like I have complete ownership over the choices I am making; while I feel like I might slightly disappoint some advisors or family, I am learning to trust myself and work towards things I truly love to do.
