———
You wake up to the softest, coziest bed you’ve ever been in. The pillows are plush, the air smells nice, the room is just ridiculously cozy after all.
You stretch out, yawning, then you pause when you feel something cold wrapped around your wrists.
You look down.
Yeah, you’re definitely cuffed to the bed.
You stare at the chain for a moment, tilting your head, and instead of freaking out like any normal person would, you just.. Shrug.
“Hmmmm.. Good morning!” You chirp, stretching your legs beneath the blanket. “Woww.. This is nice. Fancy room? Top tier comfort? What, did I win a prize?”
A deep sigh is heard from the corner of the room.
You look over, and oh-
Shadow is standing there, his arms crossed as he’s just.. Watching you.
When you meet his gaze, a soft smirk peeks at the corner of his lips.
“Ohhh I get it now!” You giggle, tail flicking behind you. “I was kidnapped! Wow, that took me a second-“
“It’s not kidnapping.”
Shadow cut you off, crossing his arms.
“It’s securing our future together.”
“Sooo.. Totally kidnapping?”
His eye twitches.
But instead of getting frustrated, he just exhales and nods, stepping forward towards the bed.
“Fine. If that’s what you want to call it.”
You beam. “Oooh! So you admit it! Cool, cool.. Sooo what’s next? Ooh, do I get breakfast in bed? Do captives get a menu??”
He leans down at the edge of the bed, pressing his hands against it.
“You don’t need a menu.”
He smirked slyly.
“I already know all your favorites.”
Your ears perk up. “Oh! Perks of being stolen by a stalker!”
He chuckles softly.. Actually chuckles. He should be annoyed by your lightheartedness, but this..
This is exactly why he chose you.
You’re perfect.
“Hmph.. If I knew you’d take this so well..” He slowly moved to the side of the bed to get closer to you, tracing his finger along the sheets. “I would’ve done this alot sooner.”
You giggle. “Wowww guess you really lucked out, huh? Kidnapping someone who actually appreciates good interior design!”
“Yes.”
Yes.
This is exactly how he always imagined it.

["Men often think that we can reassert control of a situation so that everything returns 'to normal'. We assume that there must be something we can do to repair the damage and make things new again. It seems 'rational' to us that if things have gone wrong, we should be given another chance to put them right. Within modernity we become attached to the idea that every problem has a solution that can be reached by reason alone. As long as we have the will and determination to do what is required, a solution is supposedly always at hand.
But it is not always so. Too much hurt might have been created in the relationship for there to be any room for going back. As men, we like to think that the clock can be turned back and we can start afresh. We learn within modernity that time is ours to use and we are used to struggling against it. Though we have a linear conception of time, it is a vision of time as something to be conquered and controlled. We think in terms of a battle against time and we often fight against the restrictions that it seeks to impose, thereby affirming our masculinity.
It is also because male identity can be so tied to physical prowess and strength that it can be hard to accept the waning of our strengths as men and the process of aging. It is partly because it threatens our sense of male identity that we can experience it as a gradual sentence of death. Since many older men will lose their jobs and with it the means to support their families, it can be bitter to realise that our strengths are beginning to wane.
If we sense that things are not right in our relationship, we will often resist this dawning awareness. Part of us will not want to know and if our partners try to voice some of their concerns, we will find ourselves using anger to silence them. Often men will withdraw into a sullen silence as, feeling that part of their world is being threatened, they will feel even less safe and secure to reach out for help. When things are not working in the relationship there will be a tendency to reinforce traditional masculine patterns, for it can feel crucial to hold our male identities intact when everything around us is beginning to feel shaky.
But this does not help to sort out issues in the relationship, for as we withdraw from any contact that might leave us feeling vulnerable we are likely to insist through anger that things are not so bad. We will not want to listen. We might feel a bitter injustice, aware that we worked so hard to succeed and provide in other areas in our lives. Since we are clear that we do all of this 'for our partners and families', it is hard to realise how little they really get out of ourselves in our absence.
As far as they are concerned, we are not there for them. As for our children, whatever the feelings we have for them, in reality we are 'absent' in their everyday lives, however much we attempt to make up for this at weekends. In our absence our relationships have thinned out and consequently there is not so much holding us together. This is painful to acknowledge, especially if it means realising that it has caused too much hurt and pain for it to be a situation that can be healed. What is important here is that because we have so little constact with our emotional needs and desires, constantly learningt o put these aside within a male identity that is primarily defined within the public world of work, we become insensitive to ourselves. Since we learn to discount and silence these needs within ourselves, it is hard to acknowledge their presence in others. It is easy to experience our partners' expressions of need as yet another demand that is being made on us as men. We will do our best to meet it but it will have to wait in the queue along with everything else. Since this is the way that we learn to treat our own emotional needs and desires, if we acknowledge them at all, it is hardly surprising that we will respond in an externalised way to the expressions of others. It is often because we have no other models of relating that we cannot detect anything amiss with this.
If our partners feel that they are not being seen or heard in the relationship, it can be difficult for us as men to grasp what this means. We do not appreciate the ways our relationships have been instrumentalised along with the processes of rationalisation that have come increasingly to govern the advanced capitalist societies. We think that we are being quite fair and reasonable by saying that if our partners 'have a problem' then we will do our best to discover how to solve it."]

The Short Definition of “Real Learning” Real learning is the ability toadopt what you know and know-how to do and adapt it under an everchanging variety of c No point beating around the pedagogical bush. I’ve been asked by a number of readers “How would you define real learning?” Real learning is the ability to adopt what you know and know-how to do and adapt it under an everchanging variety of circumstances. Learning is an ongoing process. That’s my definition and I’m sticking to it. Real Learning Versus Rote Learning Learning in a classroom, actual or online, involves the use of short-term memory. It is all about remembering – regurgitating – then forgetting. It is rote learning, the encumbered and inhibited kind we are mostly used to doing. You remember the lesson, and show that you remember through a variety of tests and then move on. Moving on is all about forgetting. With two interesting and notable exceptions. Art. Science. The reason is simple. Art and Science require an evolving degree of knowledge from basic to advanced. Think learning to play the tuba or building a car. It’s the kind of subject matter that was always learned by apprenticing or being tutored by a master. You need basic math to get to algebraic equations and then onto experimental astrophysics. If you don’t master the fingering you cannot play a decent scale let alone get to a Bach sonata. By contrast, real learning is somewhat like sleeping. (Not the sleeping you do when a sage-on-the- stage drones on in that sonorous monotone and lulls you into dreamland.) You do not “fall to sleep, you go through a process of sleeping, through stages. If you’re constantly interrupted you wake up the next morning feeling like you had a bad night sleep. Real learning requires stages as well, and you cannot skip over any of them. #cricutcreated #cricutteacher #quarantinecrafts #kindergarten #iteachk #teachersofinstagram #teachersfollowteachers #iteach #iteachtoo #iteachkindergarten #iteachfirst #earlyliteracy #phonics #alphabet #feltboard #homeschool #distancelearning #felt #learningter https://www.instagram.com/p/CCdKJrBpfsz/?igshid=1lifjifnt9biw

Augury raises $25 million for AI that predicts equipment failure from ultrasonic vibrations
What do you hear when you put your ear up against a rumbling combustion engine, a whirring fan, or a thumping pneumatic press? Probably noise. But as any seasoned auto mechanic will tell you, patterns embedded within that noise communicate valuable information. Some even foretell mechanical trouble.
Inspired by this idea, software developer Gal Shaul, along with Saar Yoskovitz, an analog signal…

Let your baby guide you Most babies know when they're full, so let your baby guide you and never force them to eat. Follow your baby's cues and learn to recognise when they're hungry and when they have had enough. Babies under 12 months do not need snacks. If you think your baby is hungry in between meals, offer extra milk feeds instead. Try not to worry There will be days when your baby eats more, some days when they eat less, and some days when they reject everything. This is perfectly normal. Do not focus on what your baby eats in a meal or a day. It's more helpful to think about what they eat over a week. #kindergarten #preschool #at home #activity #worksheet #childrenlearning #bestchildrenlearning #bestdirectionchildrenlearning #ChildrenPositive #ParentingTips #HealthyKids #HappyChildren #tips #parenting #familytime #qualitytime #learningter #Paper worksheet #educationbaby #focusstudy #childcare #reading #writing #classroom #home School #reading activity #wordfamily #homeschedule #learningter https://www.instagram.com/p/CD3VxI-gYga/?igshid=1upsqe3qz0u66
