TickleTober2023/Day 04 - Mask
Genshin Impact - Aether x Xiao
Tumblr media
Faced with the Yaksha’s mask, Aether tilted his head. The traveler walked around, trying to peek at Xiao’s expressions, not able to hold back his amused giggles. “Oh, Xiao, come on ~” He whined playfully, reaching out for the other and holding him by his shoulders.
But the Yaksha ignored him, crossing his arms in front of his chest and turning his gaze away, avoiding any eye contact with the blonde. Thanks to that, Aether could catch a small glimpse of the skin hidden beneath the mask and, yes, Xiao was definitely blushing. How cute.
It was merely a compliment, but it seemed that the traveler underestimated the other’s shyness. Aether wouldn’t stop smiling, walking left and right as he tried to remain in Xiao’s sight, only to the Yaksha turn his head to the opposite side again and again.
“Can you… at least talk back to me? Come on, I just said you were looking good today, Xiao…” He pouted, fiddling with his fingers as he waited for an answer to come. But Xiao didn’t seem that talkative anymore.
Standing behind him after a couple of turns walking around him, Aether sighed, pouting as he couldn’t get the Yaksha to look at him. He hummed, noticing how Xiao’s muscles were tense, reaffirming his alert state. Those words really messed him up, huh?
“Xiao ~ Answer me, please ~” Aether said, once again, trying to approach him. Hugging him from behind, the traveler wrapped his arms around Xiao’s torso, resting his head on his shoulder.
But there was still no answer and, to make things worse, his features were still hidden behind that mask. Aether sighed and, tired of “playing nice”, decided to do something about it. “Fine, if you are going to keep ignoring me…”
Waiting not a single more second, Aether moved his hands to Xiao's sides, digging into it with his fingers and making the Yaksha squeal in mirth. Earning the exact expected reaction from the adeptus, the traveler smiled, continuing to playfully tickle the spot.
“Are you going to keep ignoring me, Xiao?” Aether said, giggling as his victim tried to escape from his grip, giving his best efforts to keep his reaction down.
“A-Ahaether- agh, s-stohop it!” Xiao pleaded through the mask, his muffled words barely making it through the blonde’s ears. Despite the angry expression featured on the accessory, Aether could already imagine how much he was smiling underneath it.
With nimble fingers climbing up to his ribs - no matter how much he tried to protect himself from the tickling with his own arms - it was becoming harder and harder to stay still or to keep himself from laughing. “Will you keep ignoring me?”
“I-I’m nohot ignoring yohohou- ah!” Xiao gasped as the mask was suddenly lifted from his face. With one arm still around him, Aether used his free hand to take the accessory away, dropping it on the ground as he finally could see the Yaksha’s adorable face.
“Now, that’s better,” Aether said, grinning playfully as he tilted his head to have a proper look, admiring how quickly Xiao’s cheeks turned pink.
“G-give my mask back, Aether,” he pouted, looking to the blonde with the corner of his eyes, giving up the fight.
“There is no way I’m losing your smile, Xiao ~” Aether teased, kissing his cheek lovingly.

NEW YEARS FIC!!!!! im sorry its 4 days late um. (im lazy)
lee!xiao
ler!aether
Xiao materialises silently on the balcony behind him, arms crossed. “Hmph, it’s you,” He murmurs, his voice barely audible.
“It is,” Aether said, waving him over as he leaned against the rails. Xiao complied, moving himself to stand next to the traveller. “So, is Liyue big on new years? It seems like it..”
Xiao’s gaze shifts to the bustling streets below, his eyes narrowing slightly. “Yes, Liyue is known for its grand celebrations during the lantern rite. Mortals gather to welcome the new year, hoping for good fortune and prosperity.” He turns his attention back to the figure beside him, his expression softening ever so slightly. “Is there a reason you ask..?”
“Not necessarily.. I was more asking if you were big on it.” Aether admitted, smiling softly at the city.
Xiao's eyes flicker with a hint of surprise, as if caught off guard by his question. "I... I suppose I don’t partake in such festivities," he admits, his voice tinged with a touch of melancholy. "As an adeptus, I have always maintained a certain distance from mortal affairs. My duty lies in protecting Liyue and its people, but I have never been one to revel in celebrations or seek personal enjoyment. It’s not in my nature."
He pauses for a moment, then adds, "However, I am willing to make an exception, if it is your wish to experience these festivities together."
Aether chuckled at the offer, shaking his head. "You don’t have to do that, Xiao, I know you’d rather not. But if you want.. we can stay up here for a bit?” He asked, tilting his head. “Please?”
Xiao's gaze shifts back to the lively streets below, watching as the crowds grow larger and the excitement mounts. "I appreciate your consideration.”
He turns his attention back to the blonde, his eyes meeting his. "If you wish to join me in this seclusion, I would be honoured to spend this time with you." He gestures to the balcony, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
He smiled widely, “Thank you~..” He lowered himself to the ground, his legs criss-crossed around each other.
Xiao follows Aether’s lead, lowering himself to the ground beside him and crossing his legs in a similar fashion. He glances at him, his smile a rare sight. “I hear your back from your travels in Fountaine, correct?”
“Yeah, it was.. well, Fountaine.” He laughed softly, his eyes trailing down his arm before he noticed something. “The ocean was amazing though, they-.. Hm.”
“..What is it?” The adeptus asked, a confused expression on his face as Aether’s fingers reached out to his skin. With anybody else he’d flinch away, but he's learnt to accept the travellers touch. “You're bruised.”
“I.. suppose I am,” He stated, seemingly not paying much mind to it. “Mere consequence of my battles.. You shouldn’t worry, There's probably many more to come. But.. they will heal due to time.”
“I know, it doesn't mean I like it.” He muttered, huffing quietly. “Yknow, if you ever need me to patch you up all you need to do is ask.”
“No need,” Xiao insisted, “But.. If it comes to it, I’ll remember that.”
“I’m glad.” Aether smiled, satisfied with the answer he received. His fingers dragged down the skin until he reached the end, his hand moving to rest on top of the other’s. -which of course would’ve been fine, but..
His fingertips trailing down his forearm made Xiao gasp, reflexively flinching back a bit. “A-Ah.. apologies, Aether. You just..”
“It's okay,” He replied, softly cutting the other off from speaking any more excuses. “My fault.”
The two sat like that for a few minutes in silence, simply enjoying each other's company. Well, it was simple until the blonde’s hand began to shift, nails drifting across his wrist an-
“Aether,” he spoke in a faked stern tone, turning to look at him.
“Uhuh,” He replied calmly, his nails grazing the same sensitive spot. “I'm just making sure you're not hiding any more injuries from me. What if you're in a critical condition and I didnt even know, hm?”
“Ihim- i’m not..?” a soft yelp left his lips, dare he even say– a giggle? “You’d know..”
“How am I supposed to believe that though? You're a very secretive person, Xiao. Now, I insist, stay still.” Aether smiled smugly, speaking whatever excuses came into his head first as he sneaked a hand to the adepti’s torso and latched onto his side.
“A-Ah! Aetheher..” He let out a shaky breath, restraining himself. “Don't just-..”
“Don't just what?” Aether tilted his head with a fake confused expression, his hand perfectly still.
“I.. ugh, your childish, Traveler.” Xiao sighed, turning his head away. Aether simply laughed softly, letting his fingers wiggle gently up his ribs. “I’m funny, excuse you.” He huffed, “I'm sure you’ll find me funny in a few minutes too.”
“I will no-hot!” He gasped, desperately trying to keep a straight face. He debated hiding with his mask on, but knowing Aether he’d probably give him hell for it..
“You’re no fun.. Come on, you're supposed to be laughing.” He whined, a playful smile shining on his lips.
“I don’t laugh.” He states, biting the inside of his cheek to keep his composure. “I’m an adeptus, it's un- hah.. unprofessional..”
“Sure you can, giggles. I’ll even help you!” Aether teased, gently pressing his thumbs into the bone.
“Don’t cahall me thahat!" He tried to grumble the best that he could, but he couldn't refrain from the small giggles that started bubbling from his chest.
“What, giggles? But it's cute! And you are giggling, y’know.” He pointed out, his hand darting to the others mid section and rubbing circles into his hip bones.
Finally, the dam broke with a gasp and breathy giggles, the shorter ducking his head down. “Thahats- nohot the pohohint..”
Aether cooed at the sight, shifting his position a little to be able to reach over and use both his hands. “Awh, Xiao~ I can think of a different point. Maybe about how you aren’t pushing me away?”
“I.. do nohot wihish to huhurt yohou.” Xiao mumbled out, his hands squeezed in fists to restrain himself. “Hm.. Excuses, excuses~” He sighed dramatically, giving his torso a couple last squeezes. “Alright, alright.. I’m done, sorry.”
As he regained his composure, he sighed softly, arms crossing over his chest idly. “It's.. fine. I suppose.”
“I bet.” Aether replied in a monotone voice, a knowing expression on his face. “No more tricks, ‘kay?” He promised, slinging an arm around his shoulders as a truce.
“..Mhm.”

The Feeling of Love and Being Free
Summary: It’s Xiao’s rest day, but Xiao insists on going to work as the Conqueror of Demons. Venti doesn’t let him and begs for him to cuddle with him instead.
A/N: A little angsty in the beginning before going to steamy kisses and then tickling. This is a surprise gift for my irl friend. It was her birthday a few days ago. She likes VenXiao :) As always, enjoy!
Word Count: 1543
—
“Venti, no.”
“Xiao, come onnnn.”
Both Xiao and Venti were at Wanghu Inn in Xiao’s room. Currently, Xiao glared at Venti who was tugging at his arm to come cuddle with him.
“Please, Xiao?”
“Ven, I have work to do.”
“Nope! You don't!”
A chirpy voice chimed in as Aether entered and grinned.
“Aether, you are here.” Xiao said, standing straighter even though Venti was still on his arm like a koala.
“Xiao,” Aether pouted, pulling him into a hug. “Call me Ae. We are boyfriends, no need to be so formal around me. We didn’t sign a contract or anything. Plus, I do like it when you say Ae.” The last part was whispered as he let go. “Anyway, I talked with Zhongli and he said you can relax for today. He and I have some business to attend to, so we’ll be patrolling Liyue on the side.”
“But,” Xiao started.
“No buts,” Aether interrupted, sternly. “This is your day to relax. Venti, make sure he doesn’t work. I have to get going. Zhongli and Paimon are waiting, have fun love birds!~”
He gave them both a kiss before he was out the door. As the door closed shut, Xiao looked back at Venti, who was grinning from ear to ear.
“Xiao~”
“I can’t. I need to-”
“Xiao.”
Xiao tensed up as he heard Venti’s voice. All playfulness gone and replaced with a sad brooding.
“Do you really put your work as Conqueror of Demons above Aether’s and my love?”
Xiao’s eyes widened at the question as he looked at Venti. His grip had slackened and his eyes were filled with sadness and hurt that sent a cold feeling to settle in his stomach.
“No! Venti, no. Please don’t think like that.” he pulled Venti up and into a hug.
“Then why?” Venti’s voice cracked, causing Xiao’s heart to break. “W-Why are you so persistent in working a-and not being with me? With Ae? With the both of us?”
Xiao took a deep breath before speaking.
“I was made to be a war machine,” Xiao started quietly. “I wasn’t supposed to know what love is or to feel it. But ever since Ae came into my life, he shook those foundations that have anchored me. I’m trying, Ven. I really am sorry for hurting you. For hurting you and Ae. Love is something that I’m unfamiliar with.”
A silence fell over them as they stayed in the embrace.
“Venti?”
“You aren’t a war machine,” Venti said into Xiao’s neck. “The contract that was made between you and Morax was supposed to be over. If you don’t think so, I was there when it was made and I collaborated with him to make sure that you won’t be rooted into the position you are now. But look now. Morax and I both failed and underestimated your Karmic Debt and you are living with this belief of being a war machine. I should be the one sorry.”
Venti pulled away from the embrace and Xiao saw remnants of tear streaks as he wiped them away. Venti held his hands and looked into his eyes. Xiao saw regret and sorrow but also determination.
“Zhongli has done his part in letting us have this time together and I believe he will talk to you in due time. But for now it's just us.”
Venti rubbed his hand over Xiao’s vision as he spoke.
“Xiao,” he began, locking their eyes together. “You’ve done your duty all those years ago and even more, but those times have passed and are long gone.”
He pressed their foreheads together as he squeezed Xiao’s hands and his vision.
“Anemo is freedom and that’s why I’m proud to be the god of it. As the Anemo god, I announce you free of your sins and are free to roam the world and do whatever you want to do.”
He inched closer to Xiao, their lips barely touching.
“And as your lover, you are free to let go and have the chance at love you’ve never had before.”
He closed the distance between them and shared a long, deep passionate kiss with him. Xiao’s eyes widened momentarily before closing and returning it with equal passion.
“Mmm~ Ven~” Xiao moaned, as Venti pulled him in closer, taking the lead and carding his hands through his hair.
“I love you Xiao. I love you. I love you. I love you,” Venti mouthed into the kiss, sucking on his lip for permission to enter. Xiao gasped, giving him entry. Venti went slow, letting Xiao get used to the new feelings that were bombarding him at once.
“V-Venti~ Ngh~” Xiao moaned and Venti had to resist ravaging him right then and there. Instead, he led Xiao toward the bed, laying them down without breaking the kiss and sliding his hands down Xiao’s neck and along his back.
“Mmphahahaha!” Xiao let out a surprised laugh, breaking the kiss as his head fell back into the sheets.
Venti widened his eyes and looked down at Xiao. His heart fluttered at the sight of seeing Xiao’s flushed face and he can feel Xiao’s whole aura has changed. No longer was it dark and foreboding, but a light, joyful happy one.
A grin took over Venti’s features as he crawled on top of Xiao, his weight trapping him.
“Ven?” Xiao asked, his mind still hazy from the kiss. “Mmph! Mmm~”
Xiao melted into the kiss again thinking that another round of intense kissing was going to happen, but instead Venti’s hands curled against his sides.
“Mmahahahaha! Mmmehehehe! Vehehehen! Hahahaha!” he broke the kiss again laughing as he half-heartedly tried to push Venti off. “Whyhyhy?”
“Do I need to have a reason to kiss and tickle my Yaksha boyfriend?” Venti teased.
“Ahahahaha! Yehehehehehes?”
“Wrong answer,” Venti smirked, reaching behind his back to scribble his fingers in the opening of his clothing.
“Vehehehenti! snort HAHAHAHAHA! NAHAHAHA!” Xiao let out a snort and a guffaw of laughter surprising them both.
“I didn’t know your back was ticklish!” Venti exclaimed.
Xiao’s ears flushed and the red hue on his face increased in intensity. “Me neither.” He looked back at Venti and immediately felt his stomach flip. Venti looked at him with a playful hunger in his eyes.
“You didn’t know?” he said slyly. “That means Ae didn’t find it yet. This is good,” he grinned and flipped Xiao onto his stomach and straddled him and scribbled all over his back.
“Ven! Ven-HAHAHAHAHA! WAIT! WAHAHAHAIT! snort AHAHAHAHA! I WAHAHAHASN’T- snort OHOHOHO NAHAHAHA! VEHEHEN!” Xiao laughed uncontrollably as snorts sneaked their way in, making Venti’s heart swell with happiness.
“Ae wasn’t kidding when he said you were extremely ticklish. How did Ae miss your back!?”
“IHIHIHI DOHOHOHON’T KNOHOHOW! AHAHAHAHA! snort SWIHIHIHITCH SPOHOHOHOHOTS! SWIHIHITCH SPAHAHAHATS! HEHEHEAHAHA!”
“Okay, okay,” Venti flipped him back onto his back and it was worth it to see Xiao’s flushed, smiling face. Xiao immediately tried to hide his face in his hands, but Venti was not having it.
“D-don’t staHAHAHAre! NOHOHohohoHO! Hehehehe! Ahahaha! Nohohot thehehEREHEHE!” Xiao shrieked, bringing his arms down and trapping Venti’s fingers in his armpits.
“Aww, there’s your cute face, my baby Yaksha~ Not here you say? How about here?” Venti drilled with deadly precision into the center of his hollows.
“GAHAHAHAHA! AHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHA! VEN! VEHEHEHEN! NAHAHAHA! IHIHIHIT TIHIHIHICKLES! TIHIHIHICKLES! VEHEHEHENTIHIHIHI!” Xiao howled with laughter, weakly squirming away.
“Ehe, such a ticklish Yaksha,” Venti teased. To make matters worse, or better, Venti started peppering kisses on Xiao’s face and slid one of hands down to knead his hips.
“PLEHEHEHEASE!” Xiao laughed, shaking his head.
“You are quite the ticklish one, huh?” Venti snickered, letting up a little to give Xiao a breather.
“Hahahaha, hah~” Xiao breathed out, still giggling as Venti lazily ran his fingers over his stomach.
“Ihihihi thohohought youhu arehehe gohohoing to stohop?”
“I still want to try a couple more spots,” Venti grinned innocently, making Xiao groan. “Hey, I wasn’t hearing a stop from you,” he said, pinching one of his ribs and making him jerk away.
“Ohoho is this another spot?”
“Ven! HahahHahAHAHA! NohohOHOHO!”
The tickling began anew as Venti targeted his ribs, randomly alternating between his lower and top ribs.
“VehehEHEHEhenti! AHAHahahaHAha! ThAHAT breHEHEAk wahasn’t tHAHAhat loHOng!”
“Ehe, too bad~”
Xiao squirmed under Venti enduring the tickling before bringing his face towards Venti’s to kiss him. Venti’s fingers immediately stilled, surprised by his boldness and even more surprised by the longing feeling in the kiss. They shared kiss after kiss as their hands got tangled in each other’s hair, whispering each other’s names in between kisses before breaking apart for air.
“I must have tickled you silly,” Venti sighed contently, hugging Xiao as he nuzzled his nose against his.
“Mmm.”
“Remember, Xiao. You are free,” he said with a small kiss. “Ae and I both love you, so don’t struggle alone.”
Venti massaged Xiao’s head making him purr and cuddle closer.
“I’m free. I’m free and with you. I’m free and in love with you and Ae,” Xiao smiled softly as he kissed Venti back. “I love you both too. Thank you, Ven.”
Venti planted a kiss on his forehead in response and the both of them snuggled even closer before falling into a peaceful slumber.
--- Note: The contract stuff came from my head and not from any lore. Just wanted to make that clear :)

Christmas Fever
Tumblr media
I've been writing this for like a week now...and I got sick yesterday so how fitting! I don't know what it is but sick fics are just so cute and fun to write! Hope you all enjoy! Also if it isn't clear by the title, this is a Christmas fic, a Sick fic, and a modern au!!!
Fandom: Genshin Impact
Ships/Pairings: Xiao/Aether (Romantic), Childe/Zhongli (Romantic)
                              lee!Xiao, ler!Aether
Summary: Xiao is sick on Christmas, so Aether decides to cheer him up.
Contains: Sfw, Sick-fic, Fluff, Very Light Angst
Word Count: 2228
====================================
"Xiao? Are you awake?" Xiao's door slowly creaked open as Zhongli walked into Xiao's room in hopes to wake him for their early morning Christmas, just like every year. He's back from college for winter break and decided to bring his boyfriend, Aether, back with him since he doesn't have much family, which Zhongli and Childe were more than happy to agree to.
"Mmmph..." Xiao replied....or at least, Zhongli thought he did.
"Xiao, everyone's waiting in the living room. Aether seems particularly excited...do you want to go greet him? Xiao?" Zhongli walked closer to where Xiao was laying, on his bed, curled up into a ball, face and body covered by layers upon layers of blankets.
He was met with another grumble from Xiao who, now that Zhongli was looking a bit closer, realized that he seemed a little pink, or at least, what he could see of him seemed pink. "Xiao? Are you feeling alright?" Zhongli asked, sitting next to Xiao on his bed, sneaking his hand beneath the mound of blankets Xiao had made, putting his hand on his forehead.
"Oh, you're burning up. Don't worry about getting up, " Zhongli started. "I'll tell everyone that you've came down with something. Rest up...I'll send Aether to come check on you, okay?" Zhongli whispered, smiling down at his son when he mentioned Aether, knowing that he would be happy to spend time with his boyfriend.
"I'm fine," Xiao started, slowly removing himself from his bed, "M'not sick."
When Xiao stood up, Zhongli noticed him swaying on his feet...and then he started falling.
"I've got you." Zhongli said, catching Xiao on his way to the floor. "You need to stay in bed, okay? No one is going to be mad at you for being sick." He said softly, guiding Xiao back onto his bed.
Xiao tried to mumble out again, "But Aether...and Christmas," when Zhongli stopped him.
"Xiao, I'm sure he'll understand. I'll go tell him now." He smiled down, covering Xiao back up with his many blankets and slowly running his fingers through Xiao's hair as he sighed and relaxed into the touch.
Removing his hand, Zhongli got up from the bed and silently left the room, closing the door behind him with a soft "click".
Honestly, Xiao couldn't beleive what was happening. He never gets sick. There was this one time in highschool where almost his entire class was out with the flu, but Xiao didn't get it...and still had to go to school. He's still a little pissed about that.
Laying under his blankets, Xiao was left dissapointed, still believing that he let everyone down.
*     *     *
"He's sick?" Aether asked worried, pacing about the room. "How bad is it? Does he need medicine?" Ever since he and Xiao had met, Aether doesn't remember Xiao ever coming down with anything. He'd even taken care of Aether when he was sick, never getting the sickness that Aether had. So for Xiao to get sick...yeah, Aether was a little worried.
"Calm down, Aether." Zhongli soothed, smiling at him and motioning for Aether to sit beside himself. He put his hand on Aether's back as Childe sat down on the other side of Zhongli.
"Yeah, Aether," Childe said. "Don't worry too much, it's probably just the flu that's been going around. I had it last week."
Zhongli does not want to remember that. Childe had been a whimpering mess, always asking for Zhongli to do things for him and complaining that he ached, which Zhongli didn't mind at all. But he had been very demanding for physical touch, clingling to Zhongli like a lifeline, which meant that he could do very little to help him
"Yes," Zhongli replied, leaning into Childe, "he'll be alright. But...if you want to make him feel better, I'm sure he would enjoy your company, Aether. And if you do decide to go sit with him, take him a present or two. He should still open some, no?"
"Yeah," Childe added, "I'm sure getting his presents, along with your presence," Childe laughed at his own pun while Zhongli sighed and put his head in his hand, "would cheer him up. You can go now if you want to, I'm sure he's all bummed out right now and in need to some cheering up." he smiled at Aether, who was quick to stand up.
"Okay...so should I take all of these?" Aether asked, motioning to the many presents under the tree.
"No, just take one or two." Zhongli laughed. "But leave that one," he pointed to a small box, wrapped in red wrapping paper and a pretty bow. "Ajax and I want to see you both open it. It's a gift from us to the both of you." he smiled, Childe following suit.
Curious, Aether took only one present with him -- the one he got for Xiao. Approaching the door to his boyfriend's bedroom. "Xiao?" he asked, knocking gently. "Can I come in?" He heard a quiet grunt from inside.
Opening the door slowly, Aether entered the room, lit by a nightlight that was plugged into the wall. 'Right.' Aether thought, a warm smile appearing on his face, 'he's scared of the dark.'
One day when they were spending time together, Xiao had admitted that he was afraid of the dark. "I just...don't like not knowing, y'know?" he had said, which made sense to Aether.
Xiao likes to be in control most of the time, wanting to know everything that's happening. He isn't controlling in the way a bad partner would be, he's just scared. He's tried to be better, and Aether's helped him, but some things even Aether can't fix. Like, for instance, his fear of the dark.
Remembering this, Aether realized that this want for control was probably something Xiao was struggling with right now, not being able to do what he wants. 'Well,'  Aether thought, 'I can probably cheer him up then.'
Closing the door softly, Aether made his way over to his boyfriend's bed. "Xiao? Hey~" he said quietly, running his hand through his hair, Xiao peeking one of his eyes out of the covers. "I thought you'd like some company." Aether smiled.
"Noooo," Xiao whined, "you'll get sick."
"I'm going to anyway. Childe said you probably have what he had, so it's just a matter of time until I get it, so don't worry." Aether said softly, setting the present down on the floor and sitting next to Xiao's head, fingers still playing with his soft hair.
"You're dads wanted me to bring a present for you. Do you want to open it?" Aether questioned.
"Not really..." Xiao mumbled. "Could...could you open it for me? And I can watch?" Xiao asked, his eyes trying their best to be puppy-like so Aether couldn't say no.
"Okay." Aether sighed, smiling as he lifted a small-sized present onto his lap. "Ready?" he smiled at Xiao, who gave a small nod. Removing the wrapping paper, Aether pulled out a small bracelet with a butterfly charm. "I got this for you." Aether said, a giddy smile appearing on his face. "Remember when you made me that oragami butterfly for my birthday?" Xiao gave a small nod, "Well...it meant a lot to me, so I wanted to give you something similar. Like you said with the butterfly you gave me, this bracelet will ward off evil and bring good luck to you. Do you like it?"
Xiao poked his head out of the covers, a small smile appearing on his face, "I love it." he said, almost in disbelief that Aether had gotten something so thoughtful for him. "Thank you, Aether. It means a lot. I just..."
"Hm? W-what? Is there something you don't like?" Aether asked, worried.
"N-no no! It's just...my gift to you isn't anywhere as meaningful as this..." Xiao answered, dejected.
"Xiao, I don't care about what gift you got me. Just you getting one for me means a lot." he smiled. "And besides, I'm sure you got me a wonderful gift, even if you don't think you did." Aether giggled.
"It's...it's not just that, Aether..." Xiao said, tucking his face back beneath the sheets.
"What is it then? You can tell me." Aether said, putting the bracelet on Xiao's nightstand and carding a hand gently through his hair.
"I ruined Christmas."
"What?" Aether asked, confused. "Why do you think that, Xiao? You didn't ruin Christmas."
Xiao's words came out muffled under the blanket. "Yes I did. I got sick, and now you aren't going to open your presents, and we can't spend time together or go outside and do stuff. I ruined Christmas for you, Aether."
"What?" Aether said shocked. "No, no you didn't. This Christmas is already one of the best ones I've ever had, Xiao." Aether ran his fingers through Xiao's hair.
"I hope that's just your sick brain talking. You invited me into your home, introduced me to your dads, and you got me a present. You didn't ruin Christmas because you got sick, and you definatly didn't ruin it because the gift you got me "isn't good." You made this my favorite Christmas ever, Xiao. And don't think I'm just saying that." Aether said, poking Xiao through the blankets to make his point clear.
And he heard a squeak.
'A squeak?'  Aether thought. 'No way. Is he ticklish?' Aether's smile grew three sizes bigger, smirking, he asked his boyfriend, "Xiao? What was that~?"
Quickly burying his head deeper into the covers, Xiao let out a quiet, "N-nothing." from under the sheets.
"Xiao~ Are you ticklish~?" Aether smirked, laying down next to Xiao on his bed.
Xiao knew where this was going. He always knew where that question went. If he said yes, Aether would happily tickle him. If he said no, Aether would think he's lying and tickling him to find out. If he said nothing then Aether would tickle him anyway. This was a lose-lose-lose scenario, and Xiao didn't have the energy to answer.
Not hearing a response, Aether snuck his hands beneath the blankets and found Xiao's sides. Slipping his hands under his shirt to grab at his sensitive skin, he pulled Xiao closer to him, then began to lightly drag his fingers up and down his sides. "I didn't hear an answer, my love~ Are you, or are you not, ticklish...?"
All Xiao could let out was giggles, muffled by the blankets. "Mmphehehehe!" Aether gently tickling his sides was bad enough, but teasing? Xiao hated teasing. Well...hate is a strong word. It was flustering. Embarrassing. It made him feel like he was losing control. But then again...this was Aether, and he trusted him.
"Xiao~ I'm still not hearing anything~ Do you like this? Do you like me tickle tickle tickling your sides~?" While using one hand to continue tickling Xiao, Aether snuck his other hand by Xiao's head, slowly lifing the blankets away from his face. "Xiao~?"
"Nohohohoho!" Xiao giggled, small "hics" being let out with the giggles.
"Awww~ You don't like me tickling you? You don't like me tickling your sides? Hmm? Or is it something else? Xiao?" Aether teased.
"Nohohoho teasihihihing! Plehehehehease!" Xiao laughed, now burying his face into Aethers chest to muffle his giggles.
"You don't like me teasing you?" Aether teased again, dragging his fingers up to Xiao's armpits and quickly spidering them inside of them.
"Nohohohohoho! HAHAHAHAHAHA NOOHOHOHOT THEHEHEHERE! PLEHEHEhehease!" Xiao squealed, pressing his mouth shut and burying it as deep as he could into his boyfriend's chest.
"Oh? Bad spot? Are your pits a bad spot, Xiao?" Aether asked, moving his hands as he was asked, and instead deciding to lightly clawing at Xiao's bare tummy under his shirt, his nails dragging from his hips to just under his sternum, occasionally circling around and diving into his belly button. "Did you ruin Christmas, Xiao?"
"EEEEhehehehe! Nohohoho! Nohohoho I dihihidn't!" Xiao laughed, Aether's fingers still wreaking havoc on his sensitive tummy. "Plehehehease stohohohop! Plehehehe-" Xiao was cut off by a coughing fit.
Aether was quick to stop once his sensitive boyfriend started coughing, moving his hands to rub circles on his back. "Ah! Are you okay? I'm so sorry, Xiao! I forgot that you were sick for a second."
Coming out of his coughing fit, Xiao snuck his hands around Aether, sqeezing him into a tight hug. "I'm okay....Thank you, Aether." Xiao whispered into Aether's chest.
"Hm? For what?"
"For making me...feel...better."
With those words, Aether went to say more, when he heard soft snores coming from under his chin, Xiao fadt asleep, arms and legs tangled together.
*     *     *
"Zhoingli, look how cute they are!" Childe and Zhongli were looking through Xiao's bedroom door that they cracked ipen to check on the boys. It had been a few hours, so they just wanted to make sure they were okay, and to see if they needed anything.
"Shhh. Quiet, Ajax. They are quite cute, cuddled together, aren't they?" Looking at Xiao's bed, they could see two boys, cuddled together in the soft light of the nightlight, a bracelet sitting on the nightstand.
"Take a picture, Zhongli!" Childe whispered.
Zhongli took out his phone, taking a picture of the peacefully sleeping boys through the cracked door, quietly shutting it and going to the sofa with Childe, cuddling together and sipping the cocoa Childe had made. Perhaps this Christmas wouldn't be so bad for Xiao after all.

After the success that was the poetry event with Liyue and Mondstadt, Aether decided to try making some rhymes with his partner, since he didn’t participate head on in the event.
“Hmm, what could rhyme with abyss?” Xiao’s brows furrowed and he stared down at the piece of paper.
“Let’s see… how about kiss?~” the blonde gave a knowing grin as he slithered his arms around Xiao’s waist, placing a sweet kiss at the tip of his ear.
“Ah!—“ the adepti gasped, his cheeks quickly turning crimson. Of course, his partner was quick to point it out, but he decided to have some extra fun with him.
“How about this: Xiao gets easily tickled, all it takes is a kiss to make him giggle~” with that, Aether placed another tickly kiss along Xiao’s ear.
“Eek! A-Aetheher! You’re nohot taking this seriously!” Xiao tried to seem angry, but he had a hard time fighting back the wobbly smile across his lips.
“Whaaaat? I put my heart and soul into that line! Besides, it’s true, y’know~” the traveller chuckled and peppered playful kisses all over Xiao’s neck.
“Pfft! Ahahaha! Aetheheher…!” the poor adepti whined through his giggles, although his body leaned closer against his partner. He wasn’t fooling anyone, not even himself.
“Hehe, I could do more than just kiss…~” Aether had an evil smirk on his face as he playfully wiggled his fingers at Xiao, earning a soft gulp and a somehow deeper blush. I guess poetry can wait when you already have the most beautiful melody right next to you.

oh em gee. prompts open?!? can we have some lee xiao :)
"What are you doing," Xiao hisses, tensing up as Aether curls around him.
"I'm cuddling you," Aether responds. "Have you never been cuddled before?"
Xiao doesn't answer, stiff as a board while Aether snuggles up to him. He's not sure what he's supposed to do in this situation, but apparently he's not doing the right thing, because Aether sighs and says, "Come on. Relax." He massages his fingers into Xiao's back, arms, sides, unbearably gently, as though Xiao were made of glass. Xiao loosens up, just a little.
"What should I be doing?" he asks, still just kind of...laying there.
Aether, seemingly satisfied with how slack he's gone, returns to nuzzling his head into Xiao's chest. "Just hug me," he says, running his hands up and down Xiao's back. It feels good for a second before it turns into something strange and somewhat tingly, making Xiao pull away slightly.
Aether looks up, worried. "Is something wrong? You — oh."
Xiao blinks in confusion, not sure what's going on, but then he's suddenly overcome with the urge to laugh as Aether's fingers crawl along his sides. "Wh-whahat?" he gasps, tiny giggles breaking through.
"You're ticklish," Aether says, as if that explains anything. Well, it probably would make sense to anyone else, but Xiao isn't experienced enough in human customs to know what he means.
Xiao buries his face in Aether's hair. "It f-feels weheird. Buhut...nice..."
He feels Aether's smile. "Can I keep going, then?"
Xiao nods. He doesn't think that's how he's supposed to respond, but if Aether doesn't mind, then neither will he.

Grumps and Giggles in the Snow
Tumblr media
(A/N: Ahhh, the holiday season has kept me busy but I’m glad to finally be able to post this, this is for Spooky!Anon, and it was very fun to write! Truthfully, I didn’t touch Genshin for quite awhile, but this fic (along with the release of The Wanderer, but mostly this fic) did inspire me to finally get back into the swing of it Genshin Impact, research characters, along with regrow and light the spark of loving them once more! I truly had a blast with writing this and I never wrote for this pairing before so it was very intriguing! So I’m glad I got to write it and I really hope it was to your liking! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!)
(Warnings: Tickles, nothing else!)
(Prompt: [Tickly cuddles n chase scenarios (or suprise me!!)])
Today was a day like any other, a peaceful, yet beautiful day. Liyue was in the winter season, elegant white snow falling to the ground as a certain archon bard and an adepti were cuddling up with one another, Venti sleepily leaning on Xiao as the Yaksha stared out at the snow falling to the ground.
“Hmm.”
Venti perked up at the noise from Xiao. “Hm? Something wrong?” The bard asked with a yawn, finally somewhat waking up from his slumber.
“Mm-mm.. just watching the snow fall… it isn’t often we get it here in Liyue.” The adepti stated, and admittedly, the snow was pleasant to Xiao! So he surely wasn’t upset over that in the slightest. Nor was the cold too bothersome to him. Venti was quite warm after all.
However, Venti let out a small laugh. “Yeheah! I forgot that snow isn’t too common here compared to Mondstadt. You like eating the snow a lot too.” He grinned as the fellow anemo user whom he had blessed with the vision nodded his head. “It’s good. That’s all.”
“Well, perhaps you should come to Mondstadt more! Everything is super festive there, along with lots of snow! And I’d be your guide after all.” Venti playfully nudged the stone cold, straight faced Xiao a few times as he grumbled like the big grump he was.
“Oh come on! Don’t be like that!” Venti giggled at the ‘tough guy’ who was refusing to smile. “Come on! Please?” Nothing. “I’ll be nice, I won’t even go into the tavern.” Nothing. “…I’ll get almond tofu?” A slight twitch at his lips, but alas, still nothing.
“Oh that’s it. Just know you asked for it!”
Just like that, Xiao felt a smile tugging at his lips upon feeling wiggling fingers at his sides, trying to squirm away from the tickles causing giggles to flow from his mouth. “Hehey!” He raised his voice, trying to be a little stand-off-like. To Venti, he simply found it to make his giggles louder and much more pleasing!
“Ehe! Hi!” The bard playfully greeted the Yaksha who kept squirming and giggling away. “Stohohop ihihit!” Xiao snickered before finally wiggling out of the archon’s grasp, quickly running to the edge balcony where he usually lurked, taking a leap from it and summoning his polearm, sharply deciding to lunge to the ground and did so with ease.
However this caused a mischievous chuckle from the bard, a grin appearing on his face as he dashed to the balcony, quickly using his wind to get to the ground fast yet break his fall, landing on his feet.
“Oho! C’mere Xiao! You’re being a grump and the tickle monster needs to tickle all the grumpiness out of you!”
Just like that, Venti began to rush towards Xiao, the polearm user’s hair puffing up and standing on its ends as he quickly stumbled to turn around since he was facing the bow user, then began to run away from Venti in a haste. And the chase began!
With the two anemo vision holders dashing through the snow, one of them, being Xiao, picked up some snow before throwing it at Venti who laughed in response. “Aww! Don’t be so mean now!” “Then stop chasing me!” And once again, a snowball was thrown at Venti as they ran.
However, a detail worth noting was the smile spreading across the darker of the two, the one who’s being chased, Xiao… admittedly, whether he liked it or not, he was having… fun! It felt silly and it reminded him of memories. Fond ones. Not that he’d admit he’s having fun, but this was making him much less grumpy and cold due to the playfulness.
But after a moment, due to thinking back on memories, Xiao snapped back to reality as Venti tackled him into the cold white snow, a small huff escaping the vigilant demon hunter. “Caught youuu!” “Don’t!” Xiao quickly spoke, causing the clever lyre player to grin. “Don’t what?”
“T-Tickle me!”
“Oh? Well of course!”
And with the yaksha’s failure to see the trick coming, he burst back into bunches of giggles from scribbling fingers on his ribs, wiggling side to side as the skilled fingers from the lyre player tickled away. “Kitchee Kitchee koo!” “Shuhush!” Xiao immediately became defensive, feeling a little bit of red creep onto his face from the tease.
The tough yet horribly ticklish demon slayer began to squirm around from the ticklish feeling. “Hehehey! Ohohoff! D-Dohohon’t be soho chihildish!” He demanded despite enjoying the silly nature of it, honestly… if this is what if this is like in more casual and enduring settings, he didn’t mind! It made the winter season somehow more joyful for him.
“Don’t be so mean now! That’s it! Now I have to use my secret weapon!” “Whahat secrehet— weAPOHOHON!? HEHEHEY! GEHhehet ohohout Of thEHERE!” Xiao shrieked out with his usual stand-off tone. Or rather ‘attempting’ since his laughter majorly sabotaged it, also attempting to bat and shove the bard’s hands out from underneath his shirt.
“Ehe. Why would I do that?” Venti played all innocent. “BEHEHECAUSE! YOHOUR HAhahaNDS AHAHahare cohold!”
“Oho! And here I thought you were so tough, now you can’t handle the cold. I don’t think that’s it… I think you can’t handle something else…” Venti suddenly stopped the tickly feeling that was causing the demon hunter to squirm and thrash around.
“Wh-Whahat?” Xiao giggled softly, clearly confused by the words coming from Venti, and just equally as confused by the fact he had stopped.
“Don’t be all silly… I think you, Xiao, an adepti, can’t handle how ticklish you are!”
Xiao would be lying if he said he didn’t get flustered and go slightly red.
Xiao also would be lying if he said he didn’t shriek upon feeling those ice cold hands underneath his shirt wiggle onto his stomach.
“So this is super ticklish for you?” Venti, obviously well aware of Xiao’s reaction, decided to play dumb to tease the squealy yaksha. The wind archon’s wiggling fingers traveling up and all around Xiao’s stomach, ‘clawing’ playfully at the sensitive spot as Xiao’s laughter became louder with the more time the skilled bard spent tickling him.
“VEHEHENTI!” Xiao finally called out, a squeal escaping him and causing his laugh to go up a octave.
“Yes, Sir Giggles?”
“I’M SOHOHORRY!”
Now that’s a surprising sight!
“Aww, for being a big grump?”
In any other case, Xiao would’ve glared and gave a snarky comment, but right now wasn’t much like any other case. But Xiao gave a quick nod to reply.
“Ahaww! Well, out of respect for anything left of your dignity, I’ll accept your apology, Grumps and Giggles!” Ah nicknames.
Honestly, Venti wasn’t sure he wanted to stop, Xiao wasn’t a laugher, a smiler, or anything like that! So to hear him laughing so freely and bubbly, a smile covering his face as he twitched around and squealed in ticklish joy was beyond enduring and lighthearted, and as much as he wanted to continue, he figured he’d gotten the grumpy mood out of the picture. Besides, there was still much more time in the day to tickle him… ahem.
But finally, the demon slaying yaksha was released from the tickle attack, a bunch of residue giggles escaping him begrudgingly, but if he was honest… he didn’t mind too much. He much rather think and deal with this and all the tickles and giggling that came with it than sulk.
“You alright?” The bard asked, also replied to by a giggly nod as Xiao slowly stood back to his feet alongside the man from Mondstadt. “Hmm… how about this, let’s go back, and we can make something like hot cocoa!”
“Hot… cocoa?”
The usually very defensive man questioned. “Never had that before?” Another silent reply, this time a shaking head to show he hadn’t. “Well! You’re in for a treat.” Venti claimed, gently scribbling and wiggling his fingers across Xiao’s sides; a burst of giggles escaping before the archon began to pull the polearm user behind him.
Apparently Barbatos decided not even 3 minutes after he had stopped was later in the day. But to him, it was worth it to hear that burst of bubbly and squeaky giggles from Xiao.
“Well come on, Grumps and Giggles!” Venti exclaimed as he allowed the winds to swoop them both up and lift them to the balcony.
Needless to say after they both surrounded themselves with blankets, Venti had made some hot cocoa for the two of them, allowing themselves to be warm and watch the snow fall once more with a lighthearted and joyful feeling that the holidays and winter brought.
“…Venti?” “Hm…?”
“…Thank you.”
A small giggle escaped the bard.
“Mhm… Just know you aren’t safe from the cold hands!”
Within moments, Xiao found himself laughing once more, kicking out with joyful sounds and noises.
“VEHEHE—!” Xiao fumbled out in ticklish glee, Venti with a grin on his face before Xiao’s hands began to gently scribble at a certain bard’s hips, causing a giggle filled with hiccups along with the bard’s hands stopping their ‘attack’ to retract and defend from the ticklish sensation. “WOHOHOAH! wahAHAIT! XIAHAHAO!” The archon squealed before the fellow man slowly flashed a smile, his hands quickly making work of Venti’s hips, causing laughter.
Needless to say this is going to be a eventful day of snow and giggles.

Tickletober day 2 - Accidental
Tumblr media
HELLO AGAIN‼️‼️ i think this is tbe most fics ive produced in the span of a few days so woop woop
Pairing: lee!Xiao ler!Aether
Xiao let out a grumble, once again reaching up to the top kitchen shelf. After Aether invited him into his teapot, the least he could do is go fetch something for him.. But, it was no use, no matter how far he reached his fingertips just missed it. It was a wonder how Aether reached it himself, he wasn't that much taller than himself after all.
He must’ve taken a while, because he heard soft footsteps behind him and a small chuckle that could only belong to Aether. “Here, duck down a bit for me.”
He was a bit confused, but complied anyway. What he wasn't expecting was for Aether to gently push him down, reaching up to the top shelf himself. He retrieved the item, his hands coming down shortly after. What he didnt notice is that his knuckles grazed down from Xiao’s upper ribs to his hips.
The particular motion caused the adeptus to let out a gasp, flinching upwards. Aether let out a noise of confusion, stepping back from him and tilting his head. “..What was that?”
“Nothing of importance, Traveller.” He replied, crossing his arms over his chest in his regular stance. The blonde raised an eyebrow, turning his head to catch a glimpse of the other’s face. “You sure? You're getting kinda blushy..”
“I'm sure.” He mumbled quickly after, taking his gaze to another direction. “If you say so..”
Aether tried to drop it, he really did.. but he was curious, and equally confused. So, to cure the said curiosity, he reached an arm behind him and ran a single finger down the side of his torso.
The touch resulted in a strangled-like noise. It could be passed off as a gasp and a flinch, but to him it almost sounded like.. a giggle? “W-What was that for..?” Xiao asked quietly, turning to face Aether. He didn't look mad.. more flushed, and slightly nervous.
“..I just didn't know you were ticklish.” Aether shrugged, turning back to whatever he was doing seemingly unfazed. “..What?”
“I said I didn't know you were ticklish.” He repeated himself, thinking that his guest didn't hear him. He turned back to meet his gaze when he did not receive an answer, being met with a stare of confusion.
“You know what that means, right?” The traveller tried to confirm, completely turning back around.
“Forgive me if I dont know of every mortal custom.” Xiao huffed, a thick coat of sarcasm lacing his voice. Aether just laughed softly, “Alright, alright.. I get that.”
“Would you like to know what it is?” He proposed, leaning back against the counter. Xiao glanced at the floor, debating the offer before nodding. “I.. suppose so, yes.”
That's all the consent he needed before he lead Xiao to face away from him, softly grasping both of his hands with his own and pushing them together.
“Now, arms up.” Aether said firmly, slowly lifting them up incase Xiao decided to back out. To his surprise, he followed without too many worries. He knew Aether wouldn’t hurt him on purpose.
“..Why?” The adeptus asked, turning his head back to look at the other. “It makes it easier.” The blonde replied casually, resulting in a soft huff and him turning his head back to the wall.
“Basically.. It's a fight or flight reflex.” He began, resting his free hand on the shorter’s lower ribs. “I don't know the exact science behind it.. but, it does this, so that's pretty cool right?”
In the middle of his sentence, he gave a soft squeeze to the spot on the ribcage his hands were lingering on. Xiao let out a choked laugh, leaning away from his hand on reflex.
Quickly after, he moved back and tilted his head a bit. “Thats- thats..” He trailed off, trying to collect his thoughts.
“Not sure yet?” Aether chuckled, “That's okay. How about.. I keep going, and you decide if you completely hate it or not. How does that sound?”
“..I guess so.” He mumbled, relaxing a bit after tensing up for a moment. “But.. I have a question. Why does it make me laugh? Is that.. normal?”
“Yeah, it's normal. It's just how your brain alerts you, happens to everybody. Well.. most people.” He answered, before gently fluttering his fingertips around to his right side.
“Hah-.. that's- okay..” He let out the soft giggles that had been bubbling up in his throat from the moment the other had laid a hand on him, lightly squirming away from the touch.
“It’s okay?” He repeated, taking a glance at Xiao’s expression. He couldn’t help but stare when he saw the flustered smile on his face, along with his cheeks fading a light shade of red.
To his disappointment, the adeptus noticed quickly and hid his face into his arm the best he could. “Awh, no fun~” Aether giggled, obviously joking.
“Shuhush..” He mumbled, feeling the way the traveller moved onto his stomach. Ironically, he also felt the way the sensations got significantly stronger. “Wahait–!”
Aether immediately paused, turning Xiao around slightly to meet his eyes again. “You okay? Had enough?”
“..N-No.. I didn't- it was a reflex. My apologies, Aether.” He said breathily, leaning back onto his companion slightly. “That's fine, no need for apologies.. Does that mean you want me to continue?”
“..If-.. ..if that's what you wish to do, then..”
“You could just say ‘yes’, yknow.”
