all I'm saying is that Judaism teaches that abortions are not only not a sin, but is also good and just when it's for mental health or situational capability reasons
Suddenly remembered the time when I had to explain to a few guys that during the abortion ban (i was talking about USSR), the number of illegal abortions increased and many women themselves tried to perform the operation by sticking a sharp wire hanger into their vagina (hello, deaths of innocent women). I was surprised the most by the fact that they didn't know about it. Pro lifers are not saving anyone. They just wanna feel good about themselves. Tbh, with the amount of people they killed anti-abortion movements should be considered terrorist.
As one youtube commentator said: "If you are against abortion then please ignore it just like you ignore children in orphanages"
Btw, those guys weren't anti-abortion. And if even they didn't know about this... then how many more people need to be educated?
just a psa: if you are “pro life” get the fuck off my page. literally block me, unfollow me and get the hell off my fucking timeline bc you are not welcome here and i don’t want to see your bullshit arguments trying to justify taking away the basic human/ constitutional rights for women and people with uteruses to choose what to do with THEIR fucking bodies. all of you anti choice people can fuck off. KEEP YOUR LAWS OFF WOMENS BODIES! FUCK THE SUPREME COURT!! ABORTION IS A HUMAN RIGHT!!
Republicans don't care about the lives of embryos. This has, and will always be, about controlling the bodies of women and those who have a uterus. These same people who want abortion banned are teaching how to perform abortions on their livestock and animals. One of my professors told me that abortions can be performed on horses especially if they affect the life of the mare. Stallion gets out and impregnates your show mare? Have an abortion. The mare is carrying twins that could potentially kill her? Perform an abortion and as my professor said, "hope you don't pick the next triple crown winner."
Think about it. The lives of mares and livestock are more important than the lives of human beings. Isn't that what they want to protect? Human life?
"Anyone who can get pregnant must now face the reality that half of the country is in the hands of legislators who believe that your personhood and autonomy are conditional—who believe that, if you are impregnated by another person, under any circumstance, you have a legal and moral duty to undergo pregnancy, delivery, and, in all likelihood, two decades or more of caregiving, no matter the permanent and potentially devastating consequences for your body, your heart, your mind, your family, your ability to put food on the table, your plans, your aspirations, your life."
"In Missouri, this year, a lawmaker proposed a measure that would allow private citizens to sue anyone who helps a resident of the state get an abortion elsewhere; as with S.B. 8, the law would reward successful plaintiffs with ten thousand dollars. The closest analogue to this kind of legislation is the Fugitive Slave Act of 1793."
The US is on a fast track to a dystopian nightmare of staggering proportions. Anyone who can look at this, at the potential future for women and other people with uteruses and be okay with this is either a monster or suffering from unbelievable levels of ignorance.
Induced Termination of Pregnancy Before and After Roe v Wade: Trends in the Mortality and Morbidity of Women.
Providing legal access to abortion in the United States was strongly correlated with reduction in maternal mortality rate, cutting the rate from 3.3 deaths per 100,000 procedures in 1973 to only 0.4 deaths per 100,000 procedures in 1985.
A meta-analysis of 250 studies showed that overall, women feel relieved after being able to have a safe abortion and move on with their lives with autonomy in family planning.
Access to physician-led abortion procedures and post-abortion care, such as antibiotics, allows women to feel safe in their decision to terminate a pregnancy.
Early access to abortion helps reduce complications related to the procedure.
The Mexican Supreme Court has officially ruled to decriminalize abortion across the nation.
The Supreme Court declared that “the legal system that criminalized abortion in the Federal Penal Code is unconstitutional [because] it violates the human rights of women and people with the ability to gestate."
GIRE, a reproductive rights group in Mexico City, also noted that this ruling means any federal public health service or federal health institution must offer abortion to any patient who requests it.
