So I finally, finally, finally finished watching Melissa & Joey and I’m so sad it only had four seasons because I literally would’ve watched that show for the rest of my life. I loved the finale, I felt like it really brought everyone together and it was a really nice resolved ending. 

My only complaint was that Joe’s daughter didn’t come back for the finale because I thought she’d be there. But oh well. Regardless, it was a great way to end the series. 

Also, just for fun, because my aunt and I jokingly talked about this when we were watching the show, I decided to count how many boyfriends Lennox had. Because whenever we would watch, it felt like she dated a LOT of guys considering she was only about fifteen when the series began. 

So, Lennox’s boyfriends, in order. 

Season one (Lennox is between fifteen and sixteen years old):

Justin (the older, high school drop-out) – short (first?) relationship

Trevor – a few dates

Brett (the mayor’s son) – one date

Roman (co-editor of the school blog whom she hated at first) -- short-lived

Miller Collins (school jock) -- a few dates?

Brendon Flynn -- dating for four weeks then he took her to the school dance, not sure how long it lasted after that, but presumably not long

Season two (starts approximately a year and five-ish months after the beginning of season one, so Lennox is probably seventeen through this season):

Aiden (popular kid, captain of a lot of teams, including the Spirit Club which Lennox hated) -- a few weeks, attempted to lose her virginity with him but they felt pressured by Aiden’s overly-accepting parents, causing them to break up? Apparently? 

Haskell Davis (from Lennox’s math class) -- tried to ask Lennox out via a note in her locker but accidentally left it in her friend Scarlett’s so had to date her for a couple of months, but then broke up with her to ask Lennox out in person once he had waited an appropriate time of three months after his split with Scarlett. When they do start dating, they briefly break up after the two-week mark because Lennox thought Haskell cheated but it turns out a girl just came onto him and she caught them at the wrong moment.

Cameron (an intern for a rival councilwoman she met at Mel’s office) -- went on one or two dates but he was ‘meh’ according to Lennox

Season three (picks up pretty much right around where S2 left off so Lennox is between seventeen and eighteen through this season, and starts college):

Zander Carlson (artist) -- already an established new relationship when S3 begins, with Joe saying that Lennox broke up with Haskell and then almost immediately met and began dating Zander which seems like a plot-hole since she went on a date with Cameron and Lennox likely wouldn’t cheat; she loses her virginity to Zander though.

Emerson / Gary (her teaching assistant) -- she dates her teaching assistant for one of her college classes and when Mel forbids it in case he’s taking advantage of her, Lennox moves in with Emerson in a rage. But then she realises he doesn’t respect her and also lives like a slob so she breaks up with him and moves back home with Mel and co.

Marco (Joe’s nephew) -- went on a couple of dates whilst Lennox and Zander were on a break but it turned out Marco was mostly just using her to make his ex jealous and Lennox was only interested in him because he was so culturally and intellectually different from her own exes.

Season four (Lennox is in college through this season and towards the later half of it, mentions that she’s twenty): 

Zander -- no new boyfriend, she just gets back together with Zander for a while and then they break up again.

Marco -- Lennox then goes back to date Marco for real but they have to end it when he moves temporarily to Japan for a job opportunity

Zander -- they have a friends-with-benefits thing before ultimately deciding to date again, and then at the very end of the season, decide they want to get married after a near-death experience.

So that’s about twelve-ish boyfriends all before she turned twenty-one and reached endgame with Zander. That little hussy, I’m so proud. 

Seriously though, that blows my mind. I had two boyfriends in high school and they were both very short-lived.

A/N: I'm legit sure this was requested about a year ago... shit, I am so sorry. To whoever requested this, I hope you are still here and I hope you liked it... I am a terrible person.... SEND IN YOUR REQUEST! Also I'm sorry about the ending, I am a shitty writer who makes shitty endings... 

You broke away from the kiss to get air and to get your top off, unclipping your bra along with it. Your hands found the end of Ryder's shirt, throwing it over his head and somewhere in his room. You leaned back down reconnecting your lips with his, your hands traveling down his arms until they reached his hands. You grabbed his hands and placed them on your chest, gasping into the kiss when you felt them move on their own. Your hands wrapped around his neck, tugging at the hairs of the base of his neck while your hips ground against his erection. 

How the hell did you two end up like this? One minute you were waiting for your best friend Lennox to come home and the next you're in her brother's room, making out. She was so going to kill you for this but your hormones got the best of you and you really didn’t want to stop. So let yourself indulge in your lust for hours, over and over again until morning came. And when you caught the first glimpse of sun come through Ryder's room, you figured it was your cue to leave. 

You got dressed as quick as you could, thankful for the scrunchie in the back of your pants that you could tie you hair back with. If you were going to do the walk of shame you at least wanted to make it less obvious. You heard Ryder's light snoring, bringing a small smile to your face, that was kind of cute. You grabbed your shoes, figuring you could put them on when you were about to leave the house. Your bag was downstairs in their dining area, you could leave it or you could risk getting caught by everyone in this household. Oh but you really needed it with you. 

You tiptoed down the back staircase, the one that led to the kitchen, unaware that there were already people in it. You froze when you saw Lennox, Mel, and Joe drinking coffee, turning around to quietly go the other direction. You could get your bag another time, or you could just buy another one. 

"Up so soon?" You heard Joe speak. 

Busted! You slowly turned back around, a guilty smile on your face. "I, uh, I have a morning shift, thought I should get going before I get fired." 

"Does Ryder know you're leaving?" Mel asked, giving you a look, not a bad one just one that said you better not be breaking his heart. 

"I...left him a note," What a big fat lie, you snuck out of there like you did with all your other one night stands.

Lennox also gave you look but hers was more full of amusement than anything else. "Alright go, don't wanna be late right." Joe said, he wasn't too happy you and Ryder had sex in his home but deep down he was kind of proud. You gave them a quick nod before hurrying down the stairs and towards the door. "Wait." 

You turned to look at them and Joe handed you a travel mug, earning a confused look from you. You took it anyway, it was a nice gesture. "I work at a coffee shop." 

"Doesn't mean you can't have a decent cup of coffee," He replied. 

You laughed and nodded your head, homemade coffee was usually always better, at least in your opinion. "Thank you." 

"I want the mug back though," Joe said before exiting the kitchen. 

You went for the door once more but this time it was Mel who interrupted you. "Don't forget about this." She grabbed your bag and walked over, handing it to you. 

You thanked her before leaving for real this time, just in time since Ryder was starting to get up. He quickly got up and changed when he saw that you weren't in bed with him. He rushed downstairs, half hoping to meet you down there but instead he found his aunt and sister sharing in a conversation. He was kind of disappointed, last night had been one of the best nights of his life. 

"Sleep well?" Mel asked when she saw her nephew. 

"Please Aunt Mel, I don't think he slept very much," Lennox teased. 

They knew, of course they knew, he wasn't too worried about being quiet last night so they totally knew. He nodded his, embarrassed to be even talking about this with his aunt and sister. So he simply went back upstairs, leaving his amused relatives in the kitchen. He was still disappointed that he didn't see you downstairs with them. 

When your shift finished, Lennox had asked you to come over to her house. Here we go, she was gonna have talk with you for sleeping with her brother. You stood outside their porch, waiting for someone, hopefully not Ryder. The door opened and their in front of you was the person you least wanted to see at the moment. 

"Hey Ryder, is Lennox home?" You asked. 

"Y-Yeah, come in, she's right here," He said, moving aside to let you in. 

You gave him a smile and entered the, joining your friend on the couch, who was aimlessly flipping through channels. Ryder closed the door and stood there for a few seconds, wondering if he should say something. But considering that you didn't even bat an eye at him, he thought it was best to leave you be. But he was a little hurt, he had really enjoyed himself with you and now you were pretending that it didn't even happen. 

"Hey Lennox," You spoke, greeting your blonde friend. 

"Oh good, you're here, sit," She said, offering you one of her best smiles. 

You did so, setting your bag on your left while waiting for her to continue, getting ready for the earful you were sure to get. But it didn't come, instead she continued to flip through channels, sighing and putting down the controller when nothing interested her. So she turned to look at you instead. "So where do you wanna start?" 

And there it was. "Look Lennox, I know what you're gonna say and I know it was inappropriate of me-" 

"Ew no, that's not what I'm talking about," She looked away and shuttered in disgust. "I'm just gonna put that behind me. Anyway, you said you'd help with the Cassandra series." 

Oh right, that was the whole reason you even came over yesterday and then you had sex with Ryder. You nodded and once you had she got her things out so the two of you could work. 

You two got some work done but then Lennox got tired so you guys decided to take a break. She had asked you to get some drinks while she tidied up the area. You walked into her kitchen, opening up the fridge and getting two glass bottles with iced tea in them. You closed it before turning to walk away, once again bumping into Ryder. You gave him a quick greeting and then leaving before anything awkward happened. 

But it wasn't like you were ignoring him, but after last nights events you were sort of hoping to keep it on the down low. Relationships weren't really your strong suit but one night stands were definitely to your liking. Which had earned you a couple of words from Lennox at one point, she wasn't all too happy but she understood it was your life. 

When you reached the living room you handed Lennox her iced tea and sat back on the couch. You took a sip and waited for Lennox to decide whether or not she wanted to continue. And she didn't, she called it a day and the two of you decided to just chill for the remaining time you were there. 

You were over at Lennox's house, trying to convince her that you two should go out for the night. After a week of working and going to school, you had finally gotten a weekend off. And you wanted to spend it at a club or something and you wanted to end the night with someone's mouth over yours. But she wasn't budging, she also had the weekend completely off and she wanted to spend it indoors. You whined and pouted but she's wasn't having any of it. You sighed and gave up, a girl's night in didn't seem too bad. 

Lennox let you borrow some shorts and a t-shirt that you could change into while she set up the living room for your girls night in. She had let you use her room while you changed and when you had left, you bumped into your most favorite person in the whole house. 

"Hey Ryder," You said before slipping past him. 

He stopped you, grabbing your wrist and spinning you around slightly so you were facing him. "Are we good?" He asked. 

"Uh, yeah? What do you mean?" You gave him a confused look. 

"Well since the other night, when we you know, you barely look at me," He said, referring to the night you two slept together. 

You bit your lip, he's developing feelings isn't he. It's not like he was a bad guy, it's just that you didn’t think you'd be good in a relationship. So you were really hoping that he wasn't about to confess his feelings for you. And that is exactly what he was gonna do. 

"I like you, and that night confirmed my feelings and I want to start something," Oh god, he did it, he told you he liked you. 

You stood there in shock, trying to come up with something to say. Relationships weren't your thing... but maybe they could be. You couldn't denied that you were attracted to him but to be in a relationship with him. 

"I...I'm not good with relationships," You said, finding it the only thing you could muster out. 

"I'm not either but we could give it a shot. Let me take you out on one date, please?" He told you, a slight begging tone in his voice. 

"Alright fine," You couldn't believe you were actually agreeing to this. "We'll give it a try... and I really like you too." 

Ryder smiled widely, showing off his pearly whites before he brought you close to him, hugging you tightly. You hugged him back and looked up at him, craning your neck pretty far back since he was a lot taller than you. He leaned down and planted his lips on yours in a sweet and short kiss. Guess your night did end with someone's mouth over yours. 

"Oh my god finally," You heard a feminine voice behind you say. 

You broke out of Ryder's embrace to see Lennox standing behind you with a look on her face. She was smiling at the two of you, like she was so glad to see the two of you together. 

"You two have liked each other for a long time and I was starting to get worried you'd never see it," She said. "Also everything's ready, we're watching the notebook and making fun of all the clichés in it." 

With those finals words she left the two of you alone, leaving you to turn back to Ryder. You gave him one last kiss before running off after your friend. Relationships weren't your thing but you could make an exception for him.
