I really need to finish making F1 Drivers into D&D Characters before one of them gets yeeted from the grid.
#f1 grid#f1#f1 2024 grid#d&d#I have an equation that determines how many levels one is by how many seasons they've drove#unsurprisingly Fernando has the most levels (11)#kmag is a stubborn cleric who will tank everything to ensure you're healed and buffed#danny ricc is a way of the open hand monk#very high performance athlete of him#lewis and fernando are multi-classed for sure#i was thinking carlos is a warlock but he could also be an artificer not 100% sure#i am convinced charles is a bard#george is a halfling rogue because he's somehow both a guy wearing socks with sandals and such a ball of chaotic energy#lance is hands down a wild magic sorcerer#max is an oath of glory paladin#oscar is a ranger#valterri at least has a couple levels in druid#he'd love wild shape#I've gotten the order of how everyone would prioritize their stats EXCEPT zhou#i just can't get a good read on the guy#logan is a human fighter. a champion fighter if he ever levels up

While I'm not sure it's actually that deep, a majority of the rookies favoring Lewis over Nico probably comes down to one thing above all the others:
None of them are in a position where they can ever imagine being able to walk away from the sport that has taken their blood, sweat, and tears.
None of them can imagine winning and walking away.
To them, and to many, Lewis Hamilton is Formula 1. He is what it means to commit yourself to a sport, to give up everything in order to have this one thing. He himself has talked about how he has no partner, no children, no truly separate life from the sport. These 18 - 22 year old kids can't seen any problem with that because, well, it worked for Lewis Hamilton, didn't it?
This is also further reinforced by the other driver on the grid the longest, Fernando Alonso. Fernando is also a multi champion who did everything he could to come back to the sport and stay.
These are the drivers this class of rookies remembers. Michael Schumacher retired within the first three years of these rookies lives. They almost certainly watched his old races, but the ones they were sitting down to every weekend were Lewis and Fernando and Jenson, and Daniel, etc.
To them, you don't leave Formula 1 until Formula 1 leaves you.
And yes, is Lewis the one that is interacting with them now, the one who gives them advice, the one who congratulates them and mentors them? Of course, and that's almost certainly the other key factor.
But the truth is, even now, I don't know that I would be capable of making the decision Nico Rosberg made.
And I'm not sure any of them are either.
