Pilf, I work in a secondhand bookstore and this just came in today. I haven't read the actual L'homme qui rit so I have no idea if this adaptation is any good, but I thought you might be interested in knowing about its existence as a graphic novel.

you  arrived  and  someone  opened  the  door  and  you  stepped  right  into  the  red  carpet,  behind  and  in  front  of  you  are  a  lot  more  limousines  whom  their  occupant  were  treated  the  same  as  you  did.  as  you  stepped  out,  there  were  bright  lights  and  flashes,  people  screaming  your  name.  journalists  who  are  just  as  pretty  were  talking  to  people  who  already  arrived,  you  heard  multiple  gasps  as  a  woman  walked  with  her  flowery  dress  that  covered  nearly  all  the  steps  towards  the  giant  building.

this  is  it,  you  were  standing  on  the  red  carpet  at  vogue  world,  looking  forward  to  an  enriching  evening,  full  of  questions  about  upcoming  projects  and  pictures  that  fans  will  be  swooning  over  or  judging  you.  are  you  the  one  that's  going  to  steal  the  show?  or  are  you  just  dragging  your  first  hoping  the  night  is  over?

Viviana was just a child when her father uprooted his family from Barranquilla, Colombia to New York City to join her grandfather in the family business he would eventually run. Growing up, she was the princesa, and apple of her kingpin father’s eye. Though she was surrounded by the family business, daddy’s little girl was always thought to be just that and young Viviana was kept as in the dark as much as possible when it came to his dirty work, deemed by her father a man’s business. 

It was a challenge that made his endeavors all the more intriguing to her. While her mother urged her to help her with dinner, little Vivi found herself sneaking off to get into trouble with the neighborhood kids. She was sharp, intuitive, and business savvy taking after her father more than mother. Quickly, she learned the ways of the streets. Eager to prove herself, Viviana used her cleverness to hustle kids and make a pretty penny. Her efforts only disappointed her parents, and the more Viviana was kept away the more she began to rebel.

By the time Viviana was 16, she was shipped back to the motherland in hopes of straightening her out and keeping her away from the threats that came with being a kingpin’s daughter. She lived with her Tia Carmen outside of Barranquilla learning the ways of the old country. Her seamstress Tia taught her not only the secrets behind the family recipes, how to dance, tend a garden, but shared with her niece her craft. Viviana learned the ins and outs of clothing making. She was taught how to sew, take in a dress, lower a hem, and practiced countless hours with her aunt. 

After living in Colombia for five years, Viviana returned to New York City not only with renewed sense of clarity, but a hunger to pursue a degree in fashion merchandising. She was inspired by her Tia Carmen and all the sights and colors of her family’s homeland, determined to integrate its beauty into her designs. In return, her father gifted her a boutique in the heart of Manhattan, not only as a reward for a job well done but also as another distraction in hopes she would be too busy with the boutique to concern herself with business dealings. 

But Viviana not only wanted to just run a small shop, she wanted to make a name for herself. She wanted her designs to go international, and to dress the most famous names in the world. And so, Viviana started small, networking and collaborating with other people in the industry and getting her designs pictured on D list celebrities. She attended fashion events, trade shows, and workshops where she met editors, journalists, stylists, photographers, models, and influencers peddling her designs to anyone who would listen. 

One editor from Vogue (wanted connection), took a special liking towards her and Viviana seized the opportunity to use this person for their connections. A couple dates here, a couple nights together there and eventually she was being mentioned to dress some of the top celebrities. She was even offered a spread in Vogue as one of the industry's new up and coming talents to keep an eye on. 

Now at age 30, Viviana is continuing to find her way in the cut throat world of fashion, determined to keep the momentum going. Since her debut, she has opened other storefronts in some of the major fashion capitals ( Milian, London, and Paris) and is willing to do just about anything to prove that she too has what it takes to become one of fashion’s greatest icons.

SINCE HE’S BEEN MODELING FOR THE LONGEST TIME, he’s been able to do runway and walk for prestigious fashion designers across the globe - be it in new york, milan, paris, or wherever, he’s happy to walk and bring light to those big or small. he knows that some people gravitate towards him / has a level of power to bring attention to whatever means A LOT to him. but he means well !

TRIES TO KEEP HIS PRIVATE LIFE AWAY FROM PRYING EYES. dude is so quiet sometimes; you might think he’s an orphan or something. he might as well be with how his parents are acting. there have been rumors here and there, but he doesn’t bother saying a word, clearing the air, nothing. daeyong really tries to keep his life as mysterious as possible. even if he’s the most endearing boy on the planet.

FOR A SUPPOSED ROOKIE (in his own words), daeyong feels like he has a lot of potential in the acting world, even if he’s just a boy with a pretty face. he has only been in a few handful of flicks and chooses them carefully, but isn’t too fearful to venture out of his comfort zone. he finds auditions to be incredibly exhilarating but also nerve-wracking. he’s an odd boy with mood swings, let’s be honest.

So called ''normal people'' when they got nothing to do

Yeah I'm aware of the rabid anti-yume swarm in twitter..... I've seen plenty of moots getting hate campaigns and being doxxed to the point where I'm almost desensitized to it. What's the point of persecuting yumeshippers?? Especially the adult ones who quite literally keep the game alive and running for consuming and making content and buying merch? they  would  ask  questions  he  answered  thousands  upon  thousands  of  times  but  kale  still  smiled,  still  ever  polite  to  interviewers.  did  he  care  what  he  was  wearing  to  the  red  carpet?  not  really  but  some  people  care  for  fashion  and  his  suit  was  costly  after  all.  but  all  kale  wanted  to  talk  about  is  his  next  film,  which  of  course  some  interviewers  mentioned  and  he  talked  about  all  he  legally  could,  since  his  film  was  in  post-production  phase  at  the  moment.  he  walked  on  the  carpet  when  he  felt  a  tap  on  his  shoulder  and  turned  around.  "hey,  i  didn't  know  i  would  see  you  here!"  he  greeted.  "how  are  you?"

Việc sử dụng hiệu quả thời gian không chỉ là việc "sử dụng thời gian cho tốt" mà còn là "quản lý thời gian hiệu quả". Điều này cũng có nghĩa là nỗ lực hết mình mọi lúc, mọi nơi.

"Mỗi lần điện thoại đổ chuông chẳng khác nào việc ai đó gõ cửa phòng bạn, cách trả lời điện thoại cũng giống như thái độ bạn ra mở cửa." (No Shin Young - Người thầy lớn của TTK Ban Ki Moon)

"Đừng bao giờ dẹp những bức thư trên bàn sang một bên nếu như chưa hồi đáp." (No "Thiên lý mã nhận được lời khen ngợi không phải bởi sức mạnh mà bởi khí chất và phẩm chất cao quý của nó." Chỉ khi gặp được chủ nhân đích thực, hiểu rõ và công nhận nó thì Thiên lý mã mới có thể phát huy hết uy lực.

Nhưng cũng nhờ như vậy ông mới có cơ hội về làm Chánh Văn Phòng Thư ký cho Đại Hội đồng LHQ từ lời mời của Bộ Trưởng Bộ Ngoại Giao Han Seung Soo - đang đồng thời đảm nhiệm vị trí Chủ Tịch Đại Hội Đồng LHQ lúc bấy giờ. Đây cũng được xem là bước đệm và giúp cho ông Ban Ki Moon nhận được sự đồng thuận hoàn toàn trong cuộc bầu cử vào vị trí Tổng Thư Ký LHQ ở cả 2 nhiệm kỳ sau này. Trong cuộc sống, lắm khi gặp những điều không theo ý muốn cũng đừng nên vội vàng than trách, ngã quỵ. Những gì đến và đi đều có lý do của nó cả, thay vì thắc mắc những gì đã xảy ra, chúng ta hãy chứng tỏ năng lực của bản thân một cách mạnh mẽ. Để đến khi cánh cửa cơ hội một lần nữa mở ra, bạn mới có đủ khả năng để nắm giữ nó.
