evil bastard + evil bastard (chaotic AND secretly both dumbasses) w/ kokichi >:)
oh my god so true anon.
"so you see," kokichi explains patiently, hauling shovelfuls of dry sand over his shoulder carelessly as he talks; stray flecks land in your hair, and you ruefully pick them out and bonk him on the back of the head with your own shovel. "it's a really important experiment, gonta. you gotta stay down here as long as possible - definitely until the tide comes in! right, y/n?"
"right," you agree immediately, resuming digging. "otherwise we'll never know for sure whether the loch ness monster exists."
you are, of course, no where near the loch ness or her monster. gonta doesn't have to be privy to that information for this to be funny, though. besides, you'll make it up to him afterwards, buy him a lifetime supply of popsicles or something. it'll be sure to attract bugs, so you figure he can't complain.
the entomologists nods happily. "okay!"
"nice one, gonta!" kokichi beams. "i knew we could count on you!"
"kokichi! y/n! stop it right now!"
your head shoots up; kaede is straggling towards you, looking incensed. your jaw drops, and your gaze snaps to kokichi, who is looking on in a similar shocked stupor. you lock eyes - and then he leaps to his feet, tosses your shovels into the ground and grabs your hand. "eek! run for your life!"
the two of you take off as fast as you can; you spare a look over your shoulder once you're a good distance away and crack up laughing at the vision of kaede attempting to bodily haul gonta out of his sand coffin, inevitably get overwhelmed, and send the both of them sprawling in the ground. you don't stop running until you can duck behind a dusty storage shack, huddling beneath a couple of lounging, ill-used surf boards in case kaede and her entorage decide to come prying and lecture you.
stifling giggles into the soft-rotten wood, you gasp, "i told you that was a bad idea."
kokichi snorts. "but poor kaede's face. we should bury shuichi next time."
you consider this. "we'll have to knock him out."
"won't be hard. he's a beanpole."
"says you, matchstick man."
"oh? oh! i'm wounded! wounded, i say! in fact, i won't talk to you for another hundred years, unless you grovel at my feet and bring me the head of nessie herself!"
"... sorry, 'kichi. i love you."

the brigade of DICE navigates swiftly under the cover of the night, eager to neutralize the evildoings of an underground killer. toiled by the helping hand of their agency espionage, it was time to close the door on talk of conspiracy. with proper access to media, Kokichi had set forth a scheme to interrogate the criminal with hopes of coaxing a confession; evil fights evil. it certainly wouldn’t water down his own reputation, but this isn’t a self - righteous surrender. until his life meets a bitter end, he’ll continue these acts under the guise of false justice.
... that was the plan, anyway.
a multitude of subordinates create a thick wall of brawn, backing their precious supreme leader. from the other side, a brute’s fate met with an aluminum bat was tragically out of eyeshot. battered and bloodied, his appearance was barely distinguishable. physical, dirty work wasn’t suited for the dictator by any means; this is usually a job left up to his goons.
it’s a routine practice for the headman to emerge unscathed from the crime scene. if it all goes south, an executive will sacrifice themselves for their leader to make a clean escape. just like any ordinary person, they are entirely disposable and replaceable.

“ ... hmph. dry cleaning isn’t cheap, asshole! ”   doused in crimson droplets, the blaring adrenaline masks the detective’s approach. rendered immobile in the heat of the moment, Ouma doesn’t pick up on it quick enough to flee. one body turns as does another, their gaze meeting across the way.
dolling up a facade that gives him the appearance of carelessness in every sense of the word, the purple one twirls his weapon of choice like a cane. at some point, he expected the sleuth to sniff out his location. in fact, he encouraged it.
“ you’re so right, Shuichi - I did lie! even you aren’t silly enough to believe that I was just making a quick grocery run in the dead of night. ”   he chuckles softly, approaching the other while still holding a healthy distance between them. the bat is soon tossed to the side, rolling for as long as the momentum carries it. unless given a reason otherwise, Kokichi’s loyal subjects remain in close proximity. the detective isn’t the violent type, so it’s not like they have any reason to intervene.
“ merciless killers give me ulcers! I was only doing you a favor … I’ll accept your gratitude in the form of poker chips for the casino! ”   without having to dissect the situation, his own words deem him an outstanding hypocrite.

DR2 Boys as Monsters with a Human S/o Part 2
Hello everyone, I’m sorry for my inactivity as of late. My bed broke recently so I’ve had to try to get a new one during Quarantine. However, I finally am able to get one and I come back bearing some good news! Mod Kokichi and I have been fleshing out our monster Au to the point that we have some extra content for the lore of the world and details with the characters and whatever we couldn’t fit into these imagines. Coincidentally, we do plan to also open an AO3 account in order to publish fully fleshed out content for the monsters and lore of the world we’ve made for them once we’re all set up. If anyone is interested in any art or lore that we have ready though, feel free to ask us and we’ll gladly share it with you. Speaking of, we have a place already to post art on our discord so you’re free to join us with this link if you’d like. https://discord.gg/M6TGwd
Tumblr media
One more thing I’d like to add though is a warning for Nagito’s part in this. We couldn’t include much romance because of some lore we included with how his disease would work in this universe and with the limited space I couldn’t convey much development with him yet (where he isn’t quite as unhealthy or obsessive) so consider this just your first interaction with him. I promise though on AO3 or in further works he won’t be nearly as twisted as he might com across here. Besides that though, I hope that you all enjoy these. I had a lot of fun with them and will be getting back to other requests and matchups as soon as possible.
Part 2 (Part 1 here) (Part 3 here)
Gundham (Vampire)
By the time you got of work, it was late enough to see the last vestiges of the setting sun disappearing over the horizon, leaving behind nothing more than the chill of twilight.
However, there was nothing to do but to walk home as typical of you when it's still brighter.
As you passed by the familiar buildings, the park, and even a few side streets you began to only think of getting home and into your nice warm bed.
Perhaps it was those thoughts that caused you not to notice the man behind you but by the time he put a hand over your mouth and pulled you into an alley with him, you knew you had made a terrible mistake.
There were no words said as he pushed you up against a wall and buried his face into your neck, penetrating you with his fangs.
So that was it, he was a vampire. It'd be over soon you thought trying to reassure yourself as his inhuman strength overpowered you.
You tried with all your might to hold onto consciousness but alas it was too much. Maybe he was going to drink you dry after all, maybe this was the end for you?
When you awoke with a start those thoughts were still lingering in your mind. You felt so weak and this place, this definitely wasn't your room.
"Ah, you've awoken at last!" Announced that same vampire as he appeared by the side of the plush bed you were laid upon.
At least you assumed as you hadn't gotten to hear his voice. You didn't know what to say to him and at the very same time, plenty of accusations and questions flew from your mouth in his direction causing him to lose that gusto he seemed to have from a moment ago.
It appeared as though he hadn't considered for this to happen and unlike how he had last night he silenced you with his own statement.
"Silence, mortal! You should consider yourself lucky! It is not every day that you are a vampire as well known and feared as the legendary Gundham Tanaka's first victim!"
Proudly laughing he rambles on and on about his supposed grandeur before he finally settles down.
"Now what great power you are speaking to I shall inform you of what is to come as you had begged me earlier. You, mortals, tend to misconstrue what it is we full-blood vampires do with our first victim. We do not kill them, no rather we keep them by our side."
Oh brother. You knew for certain you did not want to stay with this guy and yet you still felt so weak. There was no way you could do much else than rely on him so you had to relent.
However, even though you started as an unwanted guess Gundham seemed to know how to take care of you, always making sure to be so careful.
He didn't seem like other vampires and as you began to talk to him you seemed to realize what had happened to you in actuality. Even if he hadn't realized it himself he slipped up by calling you his first victim.
He wasn't some long-lived legendary Vampire, he was a recently turned one that normally didn't drink from a human directly. You noticed with the way that he'd return with blood bags and never a scratch on him that he wasn't as evil as he seemed.
However, even when you questioned him he insisted on his obviously made up "Old Vampire Ritual" that you two were bound together and that he must take care of you as you two are now in a "symbiotic relationship".
A relationship in which he never actually drank from you instead mostly taking care of you because of that one time he could've killed you. Perhaps that's why you had fallen so hard for this creature of the night?
He was gentle and kind in his own right and every day that passed by ended up making you glad to be here. That's when you knew you had to tell him finally.
One night as he was bringing you dinner you had asked for him to stay and as usual, he listened to your desires sitting by you rather obediently as you two conversed.
"It is not like you to ask of my presence during your meals, mortal. Is there something you wished to say?"
What didn't you want to say? As soon as you could open your mouth all of it began to spill out again, like those questions you asked when you first arrived here.
You knew he wasn't a full-blood, you knew he just felt bad that he almost drained you, and you knew he didn't like drinking directly from someone if they were unwilling! You knew it all but most of all you liked him the way he was. You loved him even and before you could finish your ramble of a confession he had already pressed himself against your lips.
"Oh, how is it that a mortal like you can love a beast such as myself?"
Nagito (Zombie)
Though it was quite impulsive, you had felt implored to walk take a walk in the dead of night.
It was a humid summer night and with your clothes sticking to you and the hum of the ceiling fan relentlessly filling your ears you clearly needed to get a small break.
Grabbing a bag with a few small things such as a flashlight, keys, and whatever else you could possibly need during a night stroll you soon departed, forgetting just why it was so risky to leave your home.
As you continued on your stroll to the next block you happened upon the local graveyard which was always stirring with life, at least that's what you had heard.
Perhaps it was the humidity or the lack of sleep making you feel so careless but rather than heading back home you decided to approach the gates of the cemetery when a gloved hand came to press itself over your mouth.
"Don't scream, I just want to talk." A raspy voice whispers lowly into your ear causing panic to shoot through your body.
With your bag still in hand, you easily shake the offender off, swinging your bag at him as your eyes shut in fear. However, instead of any pained sound, all you hear is a sigh and multiple things hitting the ground.
Despite your head screaming at you to disregard that and run though you instead put on a brave face and open your eyes, noticing that he was now missing his arm and head.
"Ah man, this is so embarrassing," he starts only awkwardly scratching the back of his head with his free hand, "you wouldn't be able to uh, hand me my head would you?"
Wait, he's a zombie, isn't he!? He'll just try to bite you!
Even with your protests though he doesn't bat an eye only negotiating with you instead. "I know it sounds like I just want to bite you but I swear I won't. If it makes you feel better you can even grab me by my hair. There's no way I can bite you that way, right?"
Despite the position he was in, he still seemed fully capable of quipping at you so you relented. What harm will come from this guy if you can knock most of his limbs off with one swing?
Dropping your bag to the ground you tentatively grab his head by the hair watching as his expression doesn't change despite the tug on his scalp as you hand it over to his body.
To your surprise, he grabs himself the same way and somehow easily reattaches the head with his one arm intact. This must happen quite a lot for him to be so unfazed even with only one arm.
"Thanks again! You wouldn't mind tossing my hand over here too would you?"
He asks with a relaxed smile on his face. He didn't move towards you at all, seeming to wait for you to answer as you looked over and saw that gloved hand now laying by your bag.
He didn't seem dangerous but before you could find it in yourself to give him back all of his limbs you needed to know why he grabbed you earlier.
"Oh, that? Well, to be honest, I was trying to warn you about the graveyard. Tonights a full moon and it's when a lot of the more violent zombies and other monsters come out. That's why I didn't want you to scream either if you had well, you'd be found and eaten immediately."
But then why wasn't he attacking you or trying to eat you? You wanted to question him more but for the most part, his answer was vague.
"Well, I don't want to eat you. How about instead you toss me my hand and I'll walk you home? That's fair isn't it?"
You couldn't disagree, it did seem fair but you certainly hadn't expected this development in the slightest. It might not have been too uncommon for someone to escort you home but a zombie was surprising.
You braced yourself, grabbing ahold of the purely skeletal hand and glove as you tossed them over to him. Now with another question to ask. Was the glove to cover this?
"That actually has to do with how I got to be a zombie. It's a funny story since I'm pretty lucky but I was born with a disease that causes your brain to deteriorate. I wasn't supposed to live long and no matter what doctor I went to, none of them could do anything."
So why was his hand like this then? Did he already start decaying? Despite just meeting, he seemed intent on sharing his story with you as he gave you an awkward smile and continued.
"No one could cure me so I decided to take a risk. As a human still I sought out a Witch Doctor and ironically the only way to save me so that I could accomplish my goals was to kill me."
Popping his hand on with a satisfied look on his face he smiled at you.
"It's ironic but even with the ritual, I got lucky! She needed something as a sort of sacrifice I guess so she needed my hand or at least the flesh from it. I'll admit it was pretty painful since I was still alive but even then it seemed that it was destined to happen. A rare occurrence happened in which my hand was still intact and strong enough not to snap either! It was a miracle that the witch said must have been because the demons or dark gods had chosen me! Amazing isn't it?"
He puts his glove back on, looking at the hand fondly as you went silent. That was supposed to be amazing? Didn't he still die? What about his family and friends?
Despite your questions, his expression didn't falter as he calmly explained he had none. No friends and no family to come to his funeral. He died alone and seemed unfazed.
"That's enough about me though, we should be getting you home now."
Sure enough, he was right, however, something seemed off. How was it that he knew the way to your house? Even when you questioned him though he seemed so nonchalant.
"I know because you fill me with hope," he says expression growing dark, "I know from the way you walk to the way you talk, to the way you even eat your meals that you are what I need. It was such great luck for you to walk by tonight where I could talk to you where I can finally tell you how I feel."
Pinning you to a nearby wall he smiles as he asks you too frozen by fear to scream, "Did you think that any zombie would be so harmless? My goal is to bring hope to the world and in order to do so, I need you. You awaken the purest hope sleeping inside of me and for that, I can never let you go."
Before you can respond to his delusions he presses his lips to your own and that was the last of what you could remember when you woke up in your bed.
It was just a dream, it had to be you thought, but when you opened that bag and found a note in it you knew immediately that it was all true. You were being stalked by a Zombie of all things.
Kazuichi (Gorgon)
You were going on a jog through the nearby park in the evening when you chanced upon a figure in the distance.
Although you only saw their back, they were dressed in the brightest jumpsuit you'd ever seen. They definitely couldn't be up to anything shady in such an ostentatious outfit, you thought, so you called out to them as you drew closer.
As soon as your words pierced their ears they perked up immediately running over to grab onto you sobbing about how he got "left behind," when suddenly he froze.
"Wa-wait you're not a..." letting go and backing up from you like you had the plague you noticed why he was freaking out. You definitely weren't a monster and he definitely was.
The two of you ended up screaming from the shock as the monster clumsily ran in the opposite direction, tripping over the roots of an overgrown tree and falling with a sickening snap.
You couldn't leave him like this. Even as you approached he seemed scared out of his wits, wincing away as you tried to help lift him up.
"Please don't hurt me! Please don't kill me I...I beg of you! I'll do whatever you say!" He cries out between sobs, not realizing that you are just trying to help him out.
However, he was struggling far too much to help him either so you had no choice but to sit yourself down and reassure him.
"But how can I even know you're telling the truth!? What if you're just going to kill me later?" Despite his sobbing finally melting into mere shaky breathes he looks at you with nothing more than distrust as he tosses accusations around.
He might not believe you but at least he isn't thrashing about like a caged animal. This time promising, not to hurt him, you help him up allowing him to lean on you as he winces in pain.
"Shit, I think...I think I really hurt my ankle. It hurts just to stand!"
Though he had acted so high and mighty a moment ago, he instantly melts into your touch, letting you do most of the work as you walk to your house.
There was no way to transport him anywhere else without some basic medical attention at least. An idea that he wouldn't have taken kindly to if not from being so exhausted from your interactions in the forest.
Struggling to get your key out of your pocket with him leaning on you, you manage to open the door and lead him to your couch so that he could rest.
Turning so that you close the door behind you two, you hear him speak up once again.
"Hey uh...about before and all, I don't normally act so, so lame. I'm normally a lot cooler than that and-" You held back a sigh, cutting off his lame excuses by telling him that you understand.
A heavy silence fell over the two of you, thicker than the uneasy tension in the air as you began to tend to his ankle.
Occasionally shooting an uneasy glance in your direction, he once again opens his mouth trying to say something only to close it again.
You really hadn't expected to encounter such a cowardly and awkward monster and yet here you were with one sat on your couch as you ended to his ankle with an air of uncertainty around the two of you.
This time, you spoke up, trying to get anything to rid you of the heavy feeling in the air as you spoke. Besides, you did have your own questions that you wanted to be answered.
For example, what exactly is he? You knew he wasn't human but with his beanie on all you could tell was that he had greenish skin and snakelike eyes.
"Oh, that? I'm...a Gorgon," he responds, rather awkwardly as he reluctantly pulls off his beanie to reveal bright pink snakes that contrast his green skin.
Cringing as you let out a gasp he prepares for you to laugh but instead is met with the exact opposite. Did you call him cool looking? He, he was cool to you?
Feeling pride swell within him he smiles at you, the awkward air finally for a moment. A moment that certainly did not last long as one of his own snakes bit him.
"Shit! The hat where's my hat!?" He exclaims, patting the arm of the couch for it when you notice how it fell out of his reach as more snakes readied to sink their teeth into his face.
Running over to grab the beanie you hand it to him as he quickly contains his snakes that let out an audible hiss of disapproval. "Argh, they always do this but uh thanks. I must seem pretty lame right now though huh?"
Seeming down already from the altercation with his snakes you assure him that he's not lame although you do wonder why they dislike him so much.
"Well, they've never got along with me since animals don't really like me at all but they started getting really violent after I learned magic to dye them pink."
He learned magic to make them pink? That was incredible, you mentioned, praising him and causing a small blush to coat his cheeks.
"Yeah, I learned from a friend of mine. She's a lich actually so it isn't really an impressive spell for her but I guess it is kinda cool that I could learn it, huh?"
Agreeing with him that it is indeed pretty cool that he could learn magic, you soon finished with his ankle.
However, even as you finished you both continued to talk throughout the night. Talking about his weird Turned Vampire Rival, and his Alien soul bro, and other fun topics.
You didn't realize it but it must have been so much fun that you eventually fell asleep beside him because you woke up still situated on the couch. However, when you looked over Kazuichi was gone.
It was if it all was a dream or so you thought until that same awkward Gorgon appeared on your doorstep in the middle of the night days later.
Seeming nervous as usual he gave you a small smile. "Hey, S/o, yah mind if I come in?"
Despite your sleepy daze, you nodded as you led him to the same couch that you had fallen asleep on after talking to him for the whole night and took your own place next to him.
Per usual he was fidgety and nervous but you did notice one thing different about him. Unlike the last time, you saw him he had a one snake peeking out from his hat that was happily swaying as you sat next to him.
Following your gaze on the little guy, he began to blush again as he stammered an apology. "Sorry, I guess Lugnut is just really happy to see you again. I don't always tuck him in because he's the only one that can stand me, at least most days. When we met last time he hissed at me in the morning so I kinda just tucked him with the rest."
Scratching his head he waits for a response as you just stare at him in disbelief. Did he just call his snake Lugnut? Did he really name them all like that?
"D-don't look at me like that! I have to call them something to tell the difference between them!" He whines as you let out a laugh now that your initial shock wore off.
"It's not funny! I told ya I needed to be able to tell the difference!" He protests again, only forgiving you once you apologize for all the laughter.
"Great, now that you're done laughing and all I did actually have something I wanted to say." He states as his hat begins to visibly move.
"I...I wanted to thank you for last time. I know I acted like I didn't trust you the whole time and that I disappeared even though I was hurt but I really like you."
He stops to take a deep breath as Lugnut begins to move around excitedly. "I know this is really fast but it's just that no one has ever called me cool the way you do, or listen to me really, or let me go on about what I like and, and I want to keep being able to!" he announces, never faltering as he looked you in the eyes.
"Even if you say no, I want to keep coming over and talking to you like we did the other night so will you let me come over again?"

A Movie and a Surprise
Read on AO3
Fandom: Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Rating: Teen Pairing: Oumasai Word Count: 2824 Summary: Any occasion becomes a special occasion when its with your boyfriend... who’s been acting strange all night now, actually.
(For @tricky-leader, which is basically just a bunch of oumasai fluff.)
Shuichi curled up on the couch, a book held up in front of his face as he relished in the unusual silence of the house. Hours slipped by, with his trance broken only when he went to fix up a quick meal for himself. After that, his eyes remained glued to the book even as he took slow distracted bites. Once he went to take one more bite just to find his plate finally empty, he’d returned to his spot on the couch and resumed reading uninterrupted.
Until a heavy weight dropped on top of him and a head of dark purple hair blocked his view.
Shuichi blinked, disoriented. His boyfriend grinned at him from his lap, mouth tilted just so, as it usually did when Kokichi had some mischief planned. He raised a curious brow, waiting for Kokichi to tell him what he wanted, and after a beat he did so, leaning forward with a playful turn of his lips.
“Hey hey, Shuichi, let’s watch a movie together!” he said, beaming for just a moment before the grin turned into a huffy pout. “I’m in the mood for a good laugh, and you’re being so boring just sitting here and reading all day.”
Shuichi wondered if Kokichi really did have something planned or if he just felt lonely. Considering the long hours he’d spent reading on his own, enjoying the quiet time to himself, Shuichi decided on the latter. Casting a regretful glance at the book half-hidden behind his boyfriend’s head, he resisted the urge to sigh as he retrieved his bookmark from the couch arm to mark his page.
“Technically you don’t need me if you just want to watch a movie,” he pointed out as he set his book off to the side. Not that he’d refuse anyway; a break from his books might be good for him.
Kokichi shook his head hard, the way his hair tossed with the jerky motions making him look like a child in the middle of a tantrum. He fixed Shuichi with a frustrated frown that he didn’t believe to be completely honest, the look complete with tears gathered in the corners of his eyes. “You don’t understand, Shuichi! I need you to watch this movie with me. How else will I be able to lean up against your side and then, at the most romantic point of the entire movie, confess my undying love for you and take your breath away with a kiss? Geez, isn’t that obvious? Hey, don’t laugh, that’s the truth!”
“Sorry, sorry.”
In the middle of Kokichi’s rant, Shuichi chuckled at the dramatics pouring from his boyfriend’s mouth. While Kokichi asserted them to not be lies, they still seemed a grand exaggeration of whatever truth they held. After all, Kokichi declared his love for Shuichi on the regular without difficulty since before they’d even gotten together, and since he’d sat right in Shuichi’s lap that very moment, a movie likely wouldn’t affect whether Kokichi could cuddle up to him or not. As far as Shuichi could see, Kokichi just wanted to spend time with him and came up with some elaborate excuse for it. He smile his acquiescence; Shuichi didn’t mind going along with it for now.
He stretched his arms above his head, linking his hands together and arching his back. The movement hardly shifted the boy in his lap, and he allowed his arms to encircle Kokichi’s waist when he dropped them. Kokichi began fidgeting at the action. Shuichi guessed that he might have too much pent up energy from being left on his own all day to keep settled down, and he vaguely wondered why Kokichi didn’t suggest that they play some kind of game instead, to burn some of it.
“Alright, you’ve convinced me then. Let’s watch a movie,” he said at last.
The moment the agreement came from his mouth, Kokichi practically leapt out of his lap. Shuichi blinked again, baffled by the sudden disappearance of the warm weight of his boyfriend. By the time he adjusted to the change however, Kokichi had made it to the other side of the room.
Before he could question him however, Kokichi flashed him a huge grin. “Great! I’m going to get blankets and—oh! And pillows! This is a special occasion, so it needs to be at the maximum comfort level!”
“…for watching a movie?” Shuichi didn’t see how that qualified as a ‘special occasion’, but Kokichi only giggled at his confusion.
“You’ll seeeee!” he teased, and after delivering such a foreboding statement so lightheartedly, he vanished down the hall, leaving Shuichi puzzled and alone on the couch.
For a minute, he didn’t move except to shift on the cushions. They no longer felt as comfortable as they had while he read, the feeling now replaced by unease from knowing that Kokichi was setting something up and Shuichi sat uselessly in the living room. When Kokichi didn’t reappear within the next couple of minutes, he vacated his spot to head into the kitchen instead. If Kokichi considered watching a movie tonight a special occasion, then he might as well do his part to make it one as well. He made his way into the kitchen, and after some deliberation he retrieved chips from the cupboard and made some hot chocolate for them both. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any marshmallows or whipped cream. Even without the sweet tooth that Kokichi had, Shuichi couldn’t deny that the accessories made the experience of drinking hot chocolate, but he supposed plain would have to do.
When he at last reemerged, balancing the bowl on his arms and carrying two mugs, he saw that Kokichi had beaten him back to the living room, making an arrangement on the couch consisting of more pillows than Shuichi even knew they had to begin with. He wondered if Kokichi had a stash of them specifically for moments like this that he kept hidden from Shuichi, but soon discarded the thought. That’d be ridiculous and unnecessary.
Then again, that sounded just the brand of ridiculous and unnecessary that his boyfriend lived for.
Shuichi considered asking him directly, but just as he opened his mouth, Kokichi looked up from his handiwork to fix him with a huge childish frown that silenced anything Shuichi might’ve said. “Shuichi, where did you go? I thought you’d gone and abandoned me because you were so destroyed by the idea of watching a fun movie with me that you just had to leave! How very mean of you!”
He blinked, ultimately unfazed by the obvious lie. “Why would I leave over something like that?”
“I don’t know, that’s why I was so hurt. How could my beloved Shuichi just abandon me like that?” Kokichi kept the act up for a moment more, just long enough for Shuichi to begin wondering if he was being genuine after all, but in the next instant Kokichi’s gaze landed on the chips and all pretenses of injury vanished. He bounced over to where Shuichi still lingered in the doorway, relieving him of the bowl perched precariously in his arms to his great relief.
“I guess I can forgive you, though! But only because you were so thoughtful and got us snacks!”
“Oh good.”
His dry response earned him a pout. “Aw, it’s no fun if you don’t react, Shuichi!”
He tilted his head in question as he set the mugs down on coasters on the coffee table. “Well, how should I have reacted then?”
Kokichi shrugged in response, turning back to busy himself with the pillows once again. “I dunno… maybe you could’ve gotten down on your knees and grovelled for my forgiveness, or something like that.”
“…right.”
As Kokichi continued to lament Shuichi’s lack of what he considered the proper level of remorse, the two settled into the ridiculous mass of pillows set up on the couch. Or rather, Shuichi settled into it. Kokichi threw himself into the pile with such force that he nearly bounced Shuichi right off and onto the floor. After giving him a cheeky grin and apology without the barest hint of remorse touching his tone, Kokichi reached over to drag a blanket over the both of them, and proceeded to flip the movie on once he’d firmly planted himself into Shuichi’s side.
Shuichi rolled his eyes at the display, but he still couldn’t help but smile as Kokichi wormed his way under his arm. For all his boyfriend’s silly antics and lies, he couldn’t deny that Kokichi made life a whole lot more entertaining. Not only that, but he enjoyed the feeling of Kokichi nestled against him just like now. He squeezed his arm around Kokichi’s shoulders, encouraging him to curl up close, head resting against Shuichi’s chest.
Shuichi found himself grateful that Kokichi had dragged him from his reading to suggest watching a movie together. Even if he didn’t understand what the ‘special occasion’ Kokichi referred to could be. Not an anniversary or birthday—Shuichi would remember something like that, having a good brain for numbers and dates. Probably nothing, he thought, just a nice time to have between the two of them, and nice it was indeed.
At least until Kokichi drank from his mug and proceeded to set it down straight onto the table’s surface without any regard for the coasters that Shuichi had laid out for them. He’d shouted in dismay, snatching up the mug to rescue the wood from the rings Kokichi was apparently attempting to plague their furniture’s lives with. Kokichi remained unapologetic, teasing even, chiding Shuichi for being too serious about such a trivial thing.
“My beloved Shuichi needs to learn to live a little!” he said, before giving him a sly grin. “Besiiiides, we’ve done way messier things on this table.”
Shuichi choked on air at the suggestive comment. He sputtered and coughed, turning his face to the side until he regained control of his bodily functions, face burning. “Kokichi!”
“What?” He feigned an innocent expression that Shuichi didn’t believe for one second. “It’s true though.”
“Well, don’t say it like that! It was just a thing with glitter and glue, not… not…” God, Shuichi couldn’t say it, too embarrassed.
“I know that!” Kokichi rested his head on Shuichi’s shoulder, tilted back to grin up at him. “You know that too, so why’re you so flustered? It’s not like there’s anyone around to hear and misunderstand anway. Unless… you started getting thoughts of doing dirty things with me! Right on the table, Shuichi, really? How filthy. That might be a little too kinky for my poor innocent body, but if you want—.”
Shuichi shoved his shoulder, making Kokichi break off into laughter at his expense. He hid his face in his hands, cheeks still bright red from all the teasing. Kokichi knew just what buttons to press to embarrass him the most. At this rate, Shuichi would die of humiliation before the end of the movie.
It took a few minutes for Kokichi’s laughter to die away and for them to settle down again. Although he was reluctant to put his arm back around Kokichi after that, it took just one sweet pout from his boyfriend to doom Shuichi.
Not too long into the movie, however, Kokichi began to get fidgety again. He squirmed underneath his arm, and Shuichi sent him a worried glance. Kokichi only laughed and waved off his concern, telling him that there was no way for him to stay still when he was cuddling up to such a cute guy! The compliment flustered Shuichi just enough to make him drop the subject, hiding his face against the top of Kokichi’s head to his boyfriend’s amusement.
After that though, Kokichi seemed to try harder at keeping still, but as the film hit its halfway point, the squirming started up once more. Shuichi turned his attention from the movie, frowning down at his fidgety boyfriend.
“Really… are you alright, Kokichi?”
Kokichi didn’t answer right away. After a minute of holding his breath, he pulled back so that he could look up into Shuichi’s eyes, his mouth a tight little line and cheeks dusted with pink. Yet the moment their gazes met, Kokichi quickly glanced away, mouth twitching.
“Kokichi?” The sight of his expression caught Shuichi off guard. He looked embarrassed.
His arm slipped off Kokichi’s shoulder to wrap around his waist instead, brows furrowed in concern for his boyfriend’s strange behavior. He realized that Kokichi had been off all night, with the fidgeting and flightiness and now that face. It worried him, especially since Kokichi wouldn’t admit to anything bothering him. “Kokichi, please… are you alright?”
“Of course I’m fine, geez.” Despite his flustered expression and bright red cheeks, Kokichi spoke with the same light tone, avoiding Shuichi’s eyes. “I just… need to say something… yeah.”
Shuichi turned to give the flushed boy his full attention, the movie now completely forgotten. Despite the assurances to the contrary, Shuichi couldn’t stop the fearful concern stirring up in his chest. His grip on Kokichi tightened and his frown deepened another centimeter. Kokichi had a flawless poker-face—anything that broke in such an obvious manner justified worry in Shuichi’s eyes.
“Stop that.” Kokichi shifted onto his knees, throwing his arms around Shuichi’s neck. The added weight pulled him down closer, so close that he found their faces mere inches apart. Shuichi’s breath caught in his throat. “I’m trying to do this and you’re being too damn sweet right now and it’s making it really hard, ok?”
Shuichi swallowed dryly. His voice refused to make anything out so he only nodded, licking his lips nervously. He resisted the urge to breach that tiny distance between their mouths, but he held himself back. Instead he waited obediently for Kokichi to draw up the courage for whatever he had to say, afraid of breaking the fragile confidence his boyfriend had built up among his humiliation. Heat rose to his own cheeks and he chided himself for the persistent warmth tingling in his body. Kokichi had something to say, and that meant that it was probably serious, so Shuichi just had to suck it up and pay attention to whatever it was that—.
Kokichi tilted his head back and his thoughts derailed and crashed into oblivion when he realized that he’d kissed Shuichi himself.
“Mmm?”
Shuichi could only hum in surprise, a quiet exhale of air lost against the soft lips on his. It took a moment of dumbfounded confusion before he closed his eyes and leaned into the kiss, one hand resting on Kokichi’s knee as he reciprocated. That seemed to embolden Kokichi, who drew one of his arms back to press his hand against the side of Shuichi’s face, tracing his thumb over his cheekbone.
When they broke apart and Shuichi opened his eyes again, he found their chests flush and Kokichi’s hazy gaze on him, reddened lips parted in a pant.
“Oh,” Shuichi breathed, his mind still working overtime to catch up with what just happened. Kokichi kissed him. He never kissed him like that. Despite the many kisses the two had shared between them, Kokichi very rarely initiated any on his own, and when he did they were playful smooches that he left everywhere but on his lips.
Kokichi kissed him.
“’Oh’?” Kokichi mimicked him with a breathy giggle, touching their foreheads together. He still sounded just as breathless as Shuichi felt. “That’s all you’ve got to say? After I had to work myself up so much to kiss you like that? That’s a little bit rude isn’t it, my darling Shuichi?”
He didn’t sound offended however, and so Shuichi mutely nodded along without trying to defend himself. That earned him another giggle, and Kokichi brought their faces so close together that Shuichi thought that he’d kiss him again, but he stopped just short of brushing. Shuichi sighed, his disappointed breath fanning against Kokichi’s mouth.
“I see why you do this so much now. It’s so nice to see you all cute and blushing like this, and all for me! Only I can take your breath away like this.” Kokichi’s tone bordered between teasing and embarrassed, the smallest waver betraying that he’d been affected by the kiss just as much as Shuichi had. “You know, Shuichi—.”
Before Kokichi assert more power over him, Shuichi wrapped both arms tight around him and kissed him right back. Kokichi made a lovely bunch of muffled noises against his mouth, not expecting the retaliation in the form of another kiss. When he finished, they were a matching pair of blushing messes. The movie continued on ignored—Shuichi had something more important to occupy his attention now.
It was worth Kokichi’s later complaints when their hot chocolate grew too cold and they missed the funniest part of the movie.
“Well, you started it.”
That did a good job of quieting any remaining protests that Kokichi had.

K1-B0 - or, as he was known to the humans in his life, “Keebo” - was already laying on the table in Miu Iruma's lab when he asked "By the way, what's our plan for today?"
Miu had a socket wrench in hand and was leering over the coverings on his legs. "Eh?" she asked, suddenly shaken out of her focus. "I dunno," she said. "I'm just gonna poke around in your shit for a while and see what inspires my next ingenious upgrade!"
"I see... " Keebo said back. He was suddenly much less comfortable with today's 'maintenance' efforts.
"Don't worry your pretty lil' head about it," Miu told him, returning her attention to the inlaid bolts along this legs. She went to work on detaching them as she continued, "It's not like I'm a fuckin' amateur over here. You know that whatever you get from me, it's gonna be goddamn amazing, right?"
Keebo kept his eyes focused on the ceiling as he admitted, "It's true. You've never done anything but improve my performance and usefulness."
"Damn straight," Miu muttered. She licked her lips and exhaled heavily as she began to pull his left leg's thigh coverings off.
Keebo was too distracted to care about the sound of her panting, however. Instead...
"Do you believe I have a soul?"
She'd scarcely even begun, yet Miu promptly stopped what she was doing and sat up straight. She blinked rapidly and stammered "Who-wha-what?" A second later her eyes stopped blinking and they narrowed, suddenly burning with disdain. Clenching her hands into fists, she demanded, "Who the fuck has got you thinkin' about that?!"
Keebo propped himself up on his elbows and nervously stammered, "We-well... Ko-kokichi said-"
Before he could get any farther, Miu jumped to her feet and threw her socket wrench across her lab. Keebo covered his face with one hand and cringed as it krresh-ed into the far wall. "That miserable fucking scrote!" Miu yelled. "I'm done putting up with his bullshit, you get me?!" She lifted her hands to reveal they were again balled into fists as she muttered, "I'm gonna... I-I'm gonna fuckin', gonna fuckin'... I'll tear out his testicles with a shit-with a goddamn shitting-"
"Please calm down!" Keebo shouted with one hand extended towards her. "I am less concerned with Kokichi's insults than I am with my question!
"Erk!" Miu stumbled back at his outburst. Looking at the floor, she blushed as she mumbled "I'm... I'm s-sorry." As she lifted her gaze, however, she gritted her teeth. "It's just that that lying little afterbirth pushes every button I've got."
"I... understand," Keebo told her, smiling a little. "He seems to have that affect on most of the group. And while I appreciate your urge to defend me, I really just want to hear your opinion."
Her eyes widened and began to flit back and forth wildly as Miu bit into her lower lip. "My, um... on... on what?"
Keebo seemed to exhale before he repeated, "On whether you believe I have a soul."
"OH!" Miu shouted, suddenly looking relieved. Normal coloration returned to her face, and she blew out a a breath she'd evidently been holding. Planting her feet firmly on the ground, she folded her arms. "Hrm." Miu paused before she said, "Sorry, but you're asking the wrong person."
Keebo's face fell slightly, and concerned etched its way into his expression. "Why do you feel that way?" he pressed. "I only want your opinion, after all. Who else would I ask for that?"
"No, you're getting me wrong," she insisted. "I mean you shouldn't ask me about that stuff, because I've never bought into any of that shit." She shrugged, almost as if she was apologizing for that fact. "People who talk about 'souls'... they usually believe in something." She tossed a dirty look towards the door of her lab as she added, "Probably not Kokichi, I guess. Knowin' him, he's just trying to stir shit up. I'd be surprised if that nasty-ass douche believed in anything. But most people that talk about that stuff... they do."
Miu scratched the side of her head with her right hand and walked forward, stepping up alongside the table where Keebo laid. She leaned her left hand on the table so close to his own hand that he jerked it away instinctively. Seeing his reaction, the tops of her cheeks reddened a little. "I, ah... " she began, momentarily distracted. "That is... " She closed her eyes and cleared her throat before continuing. "I don't believe in anything I can't see," she told him. "If a microscope ain't picking it up, it's not there to me."
"I see," Keebo said as he looked back up into her eyes. "Therefore, things like ghosts, angels, souls, Atua... ?"
"All bullshit," she confirmed with a sweep with her right arm. "Especially Atua. Look: Being an inventor means coming up an idea, then testing it. It means I have to follow the scientific method. I also have to understand how all the parts in what I'm gonna build interact with and affect each other in order to make 'em have the result that I want. So I'm part engineer, part scientist, all practical."
"I see," Keebo said. He smiled a bit wistfully as he concluded, "You don't think I have one, then."
Miu blanched at his suggestion. "I-I mean... no. I don't," she acknowledged, feeling a bit guilty. She put her hands on her hips and looked away from him in shame just before she clarified, "But like, it's nothing personal. I don't think I do, either."
Keebo cocked his head slightly. "Doesn't it sadden you to think that way?" he inquired. "It implies that one day, there will be nothing of you left."
Miu turned her head back to look at him again and smiled with a sudden kindness. "No, there will be," she insisted. "I'll leave my inventions, my writings - even you."
Keebo's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Me?!" he yelped.
"You've got a solid-state sextuple-protected and double-backed memory core in there," Miu said flatly. "Your memories of me — they aren't gonna go anywhere." She flashed a cocky grin and said, "Maybe that's all the eternal life a girl needs, eh?"
Keebo's eyes seemed to quiver a bit. "Miu... I'm... glad. I'm glad I can serve that function for you."
With a grin, Miu reached out and snatched Keebo's hand in her own. From there, she crouched to bring herself closer to him. Keebo didn't turn away, but his eyes looked all over the room in panic. "M-Miu, I don't—what are you-"
"Shhh," she whispered to him, blushing slightly. "I just want you to know that as far as I'm concerned, anyone who can make their own decisions and follow their own desires is the same as anybody else. Understand?"
Keebo found himself wishing he had a swallowing functionality, because his mouth felt awfully dry. His face felt hot, too. "I... believe I do," he said. He pushed off with his right elbow so he could lean closer to her. "You mean to say that... you see me as equal to you?"
Miu closed her eyes and gave him a single nod. Opening them again, she whispered, "There's another thing, too."
Concerned, Keebo leaned his head closer. "Another thing... ?" he repeated. "I'm listening."
Miu's eyes darted away nervously. "Because I don't believe in any afterlife, I... I think that nothing we do here really matters in any cosmic, morality-play, grand-drama way. And if nothing I do in life really matters, then... " Her eyes flicked up to lock with his. "Then all that matters is what I do."
Keebo's brow furrowed in confusion. "What-"
He was cut off by the sensation of Miu's moist lips pressing up against his. It created a buzz of sensation in his mind, and it seemed as though he could feel the heat sink located within his chest rapidly getting hotter. He squeezed his left hand to hold hers more tightly, then decided to reach out with his right hand-
She broke the kiss and ripped her hand out of his, standing and turning away. "I'm... ss-sss... shit, I'm sorry," she gasped.
Keebo blinked, still attempting to process what had happened. "I... that was... "
Looking back at him, she smiled awkwardly and said, "What I meant to say was that we gotta live our lives for now, 'kay? Especially here."
Keebo's skin tone somehow looked paler than usual thanks to the bright red coloration in his face. He manage to choke out a dazed, "Okay."
Still turned away from him, Miu seemed to rub her face on her right forearm. Was she crying? "Look, we can... we, we didn't—I mean, maybe that didn't fuckin' happen, okay?" she said, chuckling nervously. "We can pretend it didn't. If ya want, I mean." Turning around to face him again, she smiled one of her usual confident smiles. Even with only 20/13 vision, though, Keebo could still see the moisture evident on her eyelashes.
Speaking carefully, Keebo posited: "What if I don't want to act like it didn't happen?"
He smiled a nervous smile at her, trying to appear confident. For her part, Miu's face shifted from her self-assured grin to something far warmer. With a sharp inhale, she softly said, "Well then, that's... " She paused to swallow, and spoke with renewed bravado as she finished, "That means we're just getting started, sweetie!"
With that, she let loose one of her gleeful cackles, causing Keebo to laugh — far more quietly, though yet no less happily — right along with her.
As their laughter died down, Keebo kept his smile up as well as he could. "So, ah... what does this ma-"
He was interrupted by Miu suddenly climbing atop the table and straddling his waist.
"Miu!" Keebo spat. "What are you doing?!"
"Living for now, obviously," she answered with a lecherous grin. "Ooh — I loooove that you're so warm."
"Wait!" Keebo pleaded. "Before you go any further, can you tell me what this means?!"
Miu leaned over and let her hands land on either side of his head with a slap. Her breasts swung low overly Keebo's chest, causing him to gasp at the sight. All the while, Miu was looking at him like he was a simplistic idiot. Quietly, she informed him that "It means I like you, ya dumbass." She smiled playfully and added. "I wanna, y'know... do things to you."
The fluid that began to bead on Keebo's face looked, for all intents and purposes, identical to sweat. He only managed to mumble, "I-I... yes... ah... "
Miu frowned a little. "Do you not wanna do things to me?" she asked, shoving her lower lip out in a pouty expression.
"I... " Keebo said again. "No, that's... yes, I mean... I'd love to share that with you," he said finally. "It's just that I'd like to know what this makes us first. I mean... does this mean we are a Romantic Pair-Bond?"
Miu smiled and blushed, looking away from his face shyly. "Oh man, you're such a cornball," she whispered affectionately. Looking back at him, she stared into his eyes and asked, "So... is that sort of 'pair-bond' something you'd want?"
Keebo stared back at her and put his hands up on her waist. "In fact, yes," he answered with sudden confidence. "Honestly, I'd rather have that kind of bond with a person before I start engaging in the... the doing of the things you were previously referring to."
Miu's eyes seemed to light up. She beamed at him as she declared, "Then call me one-half of a pair, 'cause I'm all yours, hotness!"
She leaned forward and planted another kiss on his lips — this one far more intense and passionate than the first. Keebo was shocked at the sensation, then tried to go along with it by pulling her closer and reciprocating her mouth movements with similar ones.
When she pulled away, she looked pleasantly surprised. She let out a little squeal of glee before she announced, "Not bad, Robohunk!"
"I... I attempted to learn from your own kissing style as well as from what I've observed in films and television," he confessed sheepishly.
Miu giggled a bit, but covered her mouth with one hand to stifle the impulse. "Hey, works for me!" she assured him. "But did you like it?"
"I genuinely did," he said with a smile. "And your current location astride my body is making some sort of lower sensors tingle... in a good way, I mean."
"Well shit, we gotta get those sensors firing as hard as we can!" Miu decided joyously. "Don't worry - I remember which parts always make you scream the most when I touch ‘em," she said with pride.
Keebo looked at her in confusion. "I feel both alarmed and intrigued," he said.
"Then you're right where I want you," Miu fired back. She rubbed her hands together excitedly. "Trust me: This is gonna be better than getting fully charged right after a fresh round of maintenance."
