session 8 spoilers! not a fic, just an observation
people spent ALL season trying to break up the heart foundation, but here they are, session 8, SWEARING LOYALTY TO EACH OTHER. skizz literally saying he will LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR THEM. besides the roomies, i think they are the most stable alliance. sure, scott is very loyal but that scotts loyalty doesnt account for gem and impulses (and we know how shaky impulse is, weve known since 3rd life).
i need heart foundation to pull through. i need them to get a win or my heart will break.

Why did I just think of the most craziest yet most interesting AU for limited life?
(Ok maybe not but work with me here) the nosey neighbors + Grian vs the clockers - Etho in a lupat style au. With the nosey neighbors as the lupinrangers(Phantom Bandits) and the clockers as the Patrangers(Crafted.Special.Police.Organization-CSPO).
The world, weapons, gimmicks, and monsters would still be in the Minecraft style but the narrative and characters would be closer to lupats.
Phantom red (Grian)- An avian hybrid. use to be apart of the Watchers, a powerful inter-dimensional crime syndicate but left with Pearl because he couldn’t stand how they tortured humans for pleasure. Formed the Phantom Bandits as a way to fight back against the Watchers and save and protect humans. Runs the Neighbors Bakery as a cover up with Pearl and BigB
Phantom black (Pearl)- A moth hybrid. was also part of the Watchers along with Grian but left for the same reasons. She agreed to forming the team to protect humans and suggested the fact they the could steal artifacts that Watchers lend to patrons and allies to make them weaker. Works in the bakery as a waiter. Owns a cat named froggie that works at the bakery with her.
Phantom Blue (BigB) - A human. Originally was part of the CSPO but a huge argument between him and Cleo forced him to quit. Was kidnapped by the watchers along with others to compete in a death game. Was saved by Pearl and Grian and wanted to join their team after getting to know them. Acts as the main baker for the Neighbors Bakery.
Cleo- a zombie. The leader of the special division Clockers unit. A three man team put together to combat the watchers and phantom bandits. Very strict about her job. Secretly a huge softy who just wants to protect people from hybrids. Absolutely despises the fact that Scar and Bdubs keep referring to her as mom. Also secretly feels bad about the fight with BigB. Usually takes the clockers to the Neighbors bakery to eat.
Scar- a human. an old buddy of Cleo’s that got promoted to the same team as her. Although likes to joke around a lot more than her. The unofficial 2nd in command. Wears enchanted Armour for his legs. Despite his personality he takes his job very seriously and wants to protect people smiles. Wants to help BigB and Cleo reconnect.
Bdubs- a human. The third and rookie member of the clockers. Was slotted as BigB replacement. He doesn’t know Scar and Cleo that well but had no trouble fitting in with Scar. He doesn’t like being referred to as a rookie though and is constantly trying to prove himself. Much to the annoyance of Cleo. Joined the CSPO because he wanted to help people and hated the watchers.
Martyn/Phantom yellow-???. Part of a government organization called the Listeners. Made for the sole purpose of eliminating the Watchers. Joined both the Clockers and the Phantom bandits. Acts as a double agent and wants the two teams to work together. A very mysterious thing. And seems to know a lot of intel about the watchers and how they work.
I wanted to post this au here since it would be easier to add stuff and I wanted to share it with all of you. Maybe I’ll add more. I am working on rolls for more characters and may add those soon. I can also answer any questions or comments if anyone is interested in this au. Might even make some art for it.

Traffic Life Superpowers AU - Skizz&BigB
I have posted the first installment of my new chaptered fic called the boogey (click here for the summary on Tumblr)! I have already posted what Tango, Scott, Lizzie, Joel, and Etho's powers/abilities are if you want to look at those, but Skizz and BigB's powers are under the cut! I will be posting more powers for people when they are introduced to the story.
Skizz Heart (He/Him) Alter Ego: Skizzleman Status: Human Hero (retired hero but on-call when needed) Power(s): Skizz can heal others but he can take on their ailments (minor illnesses) and wounds. Fortunately for him, he heals rapidly. The length of time it takes to heal depends on the damage he takes on and how severe it is. If he takes on too much, there is the possibility it could kill him. Skizz has several things built into his suit (thanks to the government) to help, such as the ability to glide down from buildings and whatever else.
Fun Fact: The Heart Foundation (a charity) is the reason for Skizz's last name, in addition to the affirmation station thing he did in Limited Life! In the universe, though, the charity is named after him.
BigB Faebor (He/Him) Alter Ego: Tip (Technically but most call him BigB, especially after he opened The Heart Foundation with Skizz) Status: Human Hero, technically (His work was usually done in more private sectors, such as dealing with stuff after capture and providing support through the headset, rather than out fighting but he has gone out sometimes.) Power(s): BigB has the power of suggestion. It isn’t to the level of mind control, but the people he talks to are more likely to do or say what he suggests than they would if someone else asked it of them.
Fun Fact: Fae- is in reference to the Fairy Fort and -bor is in reference to Noisy Neighbors! His powers are based on how he always gets people to trust him for some reason? What was with the hole/backrooms bit in SL?? <- confused and didn't watch BigB

in retrospect it is actually fucking hilarious that Grian tapped Martyn and BigB for Third Life. Like. “Yeah we’re gonna get the empires guys and the hermitcraft guys and smush em together into a stew. oh also the fortnite guide person and the roblox guy. It’s a death game btw” and then they altered our brain chemistry forever. bigb didn’t even go back to minecraft content outside the life series. he makes like. skibidi toilet videos. get that bag ig

Edit: Theory Disproven!
We have a verified source of Grian stating that BigB’s task was red due to them accidentally forgetting to download the correct modpack.
Thank you everyone for your awesome theory’s anyways! It was super fun! :D
Original Theory Below:
Why BigB’s Task Was Red:
So after reading all of the tasks of episode one, I think I’ve figured out why BigB’s task was red.
It’s because the nature of his task is actually far more sinister than anyone else’s.
Everyone else’s task didn’t have dangerous implications that could be inflicted on a player. They were jokes, and fun social interactions. No one could get hurt by completing them.
But not BigB’s.
His task, while innocuous at first glance: dig a 3x3 hole all the way down; may seem innocent and just a silly task at first.
But it’s not.
His task can ultimately get people killed. What if he decided to build the hole in a populated area and someone falls into it? Even blocking off the top layer is still a risk to a future player getting spleefed or digging down and potentially falling to their death.
No other task had that kind of danger tied to it. Not even Gems b/c it ensured no one would take damage as a result of it.
My theory is that, in the future, all red tasks are going to be far more dangerous to the players. Eventually devolving into full on kill tasks that players need to complete. Which make sense why the task was red in the first place.

On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me...
Angst for Heart Foundation "I wasn't ready to say goodbye."
"I love it." CRACK! 'I love it' were the last words he heard. Tango fell to his death as the result of trusting Scar enough to go into the globe with him. Skizz said he was going to kill them, and Tango knew, but he also knew he had no chance. He just kind of wishes he could've heard Skizz or Bigb as his last words. Skizz knew who died before he even checked his communicator. He saw the lightning strike in the globe, the globe Tango just ran in with Scar. Bigb knew too, he could feel it. He definitely didn't see it, but there was something in his heart that told him Tango died. Skizz wasn't even granted the time to mourn his friend before Scar was on him. There was relief when he saw Bigb trying to help him, and then guilt when he thought Bigb may fall like Tango did, to the person they were trying to befriend. When he made it out with barely any health, his only hope was that Bigb could make it out too. And, if his heart wasn't already broke when Tango died, it's definitely in shambles seeing the state of Heart Island. Bigb made it home, safe and scared and sad. He misses Tango and he wants to see Skizz, but with the warden lurking around, he doesn't know how to traverse the land safely. He's so scared and he can't help the slight anxiety bubbling in his chest. And he takes the risk to leave because he wants to find Skizz so bad (where is he where is he where is he). And he wants an alliance with others but he can't bring himself to trust anyone. And he can't even bring himself to trust Impulse who swears he knows where Skizz is. And- And there he is. He can hear him, he can see him and- and he's crying. And it's weird because he's never had this much trust in someone not to betray him in a moment of weakness but finally seeing his ally after they lost Tango and ran away from his murderer, he can't help but cry. And it just gets worse when he feels Skizz wrap his arms around him. "I wasn't ready to say goodbye." Skizz is the first to talk. "I didn't even get to be there for him." Bigb's sobs have calmed down into sniffles. They discuss plans and try to stay optimistic, but they can both feel it in the pits of their heart. It's an unspoken truth, they both know they won't win. People are coming, Martyn, Joel, Pearl. Too many faces. Bigb can feel the anxiety pooling in his chest again. "Scar sends his regards." Bigb can hear Joel some blocks away, and he knows he's talking to Skizz. He has to protect him, he can't let Skizz fall to someone allied with Tango's murderer. He turns around so quick he's dizzy but he doesn't falter, running as fast as he can to find Joel and Skizz. He makes it, and for a moment he thinks he can protect Skizz as he strikes Joel. CRACK!
He has to make it out alive. Bigb can't die here. Joel killed Skizz in Scar's name, he could do the same to Bigb. He can't die because of Scar. So he runs. Back to the only safe place he can think of. To his backrooms. It's creepy to anyone who hasn't been, but it's home to him. It's comfort. He has to kill someone, so he stands in place for his trap. "Hi Bigb!" Scar. The reason both of his allies are dead. Bigb has to kill him, he has to avenge them. He has to do something. But, instead of Scar coming down the stairs, it's creepers. He has no choice but to run into the backrooms. But Scar follows him. Follows him into his only safe space. He can't die here, so instead of avenging his allies, he blocks the entrance like a coward as an attempt to disappear into the backrooms. But he falls into a cave, surrounded by mobs. He's almost ready to accept his fate until he hears Scar, scared and confused by his backrooms, and he decides he cannot die here. It takes a while, but Scar leaves and Bigb is alone. He's alone and he's safe. And he's sad. He misses Skizz and Tango but this time, neither of them are alive for him to go find comfort in. He's low and he's scared but he has no choice but to leave. He makes it up into the backrooms and his heart drops to his stomach when he hears footsteps. It's just Scott. It's just Scott, and it's obvious he wants to kill Bigb. But Bigb doesn't want to die alone, with no one around to even consider helping. So, he makes an attempt to sweet talk his way out of it, which ends up working. He's alone again in the backrooms, but this time more on edge. CRACK! For a fraction of a second, he thinks he's the one who died. But he comes to his senses and checks his communicator to see Etho's name in grey. He's kind of relieved that him and his allies weren't picked off one right after another. He realizes he has to go to the surface. If he hides in the backrooms and let's everyone else get the kills, the last person will come find him and he won't stand a chance. CRACK! It happened so soon after he got to the surface and made eye contact with Scar Tango's murderer, that he thinks he's the one who died again. But again, he comes to his senses and hides before checking his communicator. Martyn's name is in grey and he feels a bit of relief. If he could just last a little longer and kill Tango's murderer. But he enderpearls to him. There's no time to think before he's being attack and he tries his best to fight back. He can't run anymore, with Tango's murderer attacking from one side and Scott from the other. "Bigb, I'm sorry." But he can tell Scott is the furthest thing from sorry. CRACK! And, this time, Bigb knows it's him. Cries bubble up in his ghostly throat, and in seconds he's coughing and choking, sobbing with all of his energy. He doesn't even have a physical body anymore, but he still hurts all over from crying. And, this time, he failed the first people he trusted until the very end. And, this time, he feels the intense guilt stabbing at his heart. And, this time, Skizz isn't there to comfort him. And, this time, he's alone.

I am BARELY resisting going full red-strings-corkboard on this season. And by barely resisting I mean not resisting at all here is an extremely long list of the events those pins would be marking out.
BigB getting a Task that was a different color than everyone else's. It's not just a randomly assigned Hard Task, bc Scar rerolled for a Hard Task and his was also just a white envelope. It's fundamentally different.
That task taking BigB away from socialization, and seemingly being an incredibly time-consuming and dull request. Of profound disinterest to any watchers.
The phrasing of his Task!!
Dig a big hole. All the way down. At least 3x3. Make it your base if you want.
Everyone else's are direct and formal - the only one with more than one sentence was Skizz's, with the rule clarification of "One attempt only." Bigb's Task is four short abrupt sentences. It is also the only Task to contain extraneous information, 'Make it your base if you want.' The requirements (at least 3x3) feel like an afterthought to mimic the numerical/specific demands of the other tasks.
Evo symbol on the face of the Secret Keeper statue.
The fact that there's a statue at all; the fact that there is a physical representation of what is assigning tasks that everyone must complete, when previously everything was always handled via commands and unseen RNG.
Grian talking to the statue, and (bc of his Actual Role as game organizer) acting as a mediator for the impartial decisions handed down, speaking for it.
Grian making one last bad joke and saying he doesn't know if it counted or not- depends on whether we the audience laughed.
Grian asking for task recommendations from the audience. The watchers are making the tasks. The Watchers are making the tasks.
Again I could be off-base, and I'm not usually even that smitten with bringing in Evo lore. I don't want a Big Bad really...but. It feels like something very unusual and intentional and cool is happening in this series. And I'd guess we'll know if theres something going on once we have more than one data point.
My largely unfounded suspicion is that there is another being (maybe Listeners, maybe something else) trying to reach out to the Players via decoy Tasks, and BigB was the first recipient. Get them alone, make them of disinterest to the watchers, and tell them something we don't get to know.
Because that's the really, really fucking cool part (if my wacky theory is remotely right): We're the bad guys. We're the ones giving out tasks - hell, we're the ones actively brainstorming harder and crueller tasks in Grian's comments!
If they actually made a story where the Players have to keep secrets from us I will be delighted. Bc that is the same genius bullshit that made Evo Watcher lore so fun
