I am not always the best when it comes to asking for help. I'm too stubborn, too set on putting everything on my shoulders. I've learned that I find my worth in what I accomplish. For every little thing I add, I feel accepted somehow, as if I'm closer and closer to finally being enough. My mom has been visiting me this week and has been a beautiful reminder that who I am is not defined by the number of items I've checked off my list. I'm a good writer, even if I'm taking a day to step away from the computer. I'm a good 'mother,' regardless of whether Austin's shoes are tied or he went to bed at 8 or 9. I'm strong, even if the house is messy. I'm loved, even if I'm emotional, or hangry, or crabby, or tired. I'm enough, always. ____ Mamas (or mama figures in our lives) have a way of reflecting new light and making you see, for what feels like the first time, how enough you really are. I'm not always the best at accepting my mom's help, at being humble and gracious when she wants to clean my floor, or patient when she's taking time to do something her way. But I'm working on it.
