Just listened to "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven". Unbelievably beautiful album. Just drove around and had it all just emotionally consume me. I thought of everything. My entire life and the world around me, and the helplessness I feel as I see the world change for the worse around me.
I don't know what else to say. It's so beautiful and so powerful. The entire album. High art.
Thank You ULTRAKILL for not only affecting me so emotionally deeply but also leading me to other deep and heartfelt works of art.

There is no answer to be had in this life. It is knowledge beyond human comprehension in this miserable and fallen world.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor – Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven (2000)
4 tracks, 1 hr 27 min 21 sec
Rating: 7/10
Top Track: Storm
And now you might see why I pushed this one off till today. Very long album that I had forgotten I had set for a Wednesday night, which was a mistake what with my having an 8AM class on Thursdays. Whoops. Not familiar with this album or artist at all except that it's shown up on a few lists, so thought I'd give it a shot. Oh, I should also note that I'm not distinguishing between the different movements here, since I wasn't taking note of them as I was listening.
The entirety of Storm was fantastic, but I was let down a tad by the rest of the album after that. Not to say the rest wasn't good as well or anything, but it just couldn't live up to that first part, which is really unfortunate. Historically I tend to do poorly with instrumentals, and I think the fact that I enjoyed this album as much as I did shows that I've moved past that. At least, I like to think so; this really was fantastic even with no singing. Won't be listing favorite tracks out of four—ok, fine, Sleep can take the number 2 spot.

if I attempt to start a record collection car bomb me of course and so on and so forth, BUT if I did I think these are the only albums I'd get on wax:
To Pimp a Butterfly, Kendrick Lamar
Tidal, Fiona Apple
Lemonade, Beyonce
A Creature I Don't Know, Laura Marling
Fox Confessor Brings The Flood, Neko Case
Titanic Rising, Weyes Blood
Things Fall Apart, The Roots
Feel Like Making Love, Roberta Flack
....and that's IT
