i made a pinboard and i’m already ready to die for these fools. 

i think i’ve developed a strategy, because illustrationally speaking, i want readers to feel like they’re walking through a beksinski or a giger — bleak, bleak af atmosphere. but i’m still at mark ryden, or hell, Pip & Pop lol. i think i have a tendency to ‘lightify’ any situation so i’m just going to aim for the darkest, the bleakest, most horrifying terrors and maybe that’ll land me somewhere in a middle ground with actual stakes and danger. 

and idk how to not take kill your darlings literally when every other scenario is meant to have characters coming up against near-fatal dangers and foes, but not getting away with more than just scratches? idk.

i want the fear to feel real when you read. i want the danger to feel real. i want the reader to fear over the fate of every character because nothing is guaranteed except misery, lol. 

Peake manages to make you feel fear and anxiety and dread when there’s fuck all happening but one servant visiting another in a far off tower of gormenghast, idk how the fuck he does it but that is the power i want, man.

Alla prova le lampadine Osram Lightify sul Bridge 2.0 Philips Hue: convengono?

Da quando ho recensito le luci smart Yeelight di Xiaomi, ne ho comprate e fatte comprare a decine. Non a tutti piacciono, anche se non ne capisco il motivo, però è certo che al prezzo a cui normalmente le troviamo in offerta (circa 11€ seguendo il canale Telegram delle SaggeOfferte) è davvero impossibile trovare bulbi LED RGB controllabili da smartphone di questa qualità (ma anche inferiori...). Nella casa a mare e nello studio ho solo lampadine Yeelight e mi trovo abbastanza bene. Non richiedono un gateway, cosa che riduce ulteriormente la spesa, ma appoggiandosi al Wi-Fi il controllo può risultare meno rapido e preciso. A casa avevo iniziato anni fa con le luci Philips Hue ed ho preferito non "mischiare" le cose, ma aspetto che ci siano offerte "serie" per acquistarne di nuove (indovinate dove? Esatto, SaggeOfferte!). I problemi che ho con le Hue sono sostanzialmente due: il primo è che quando si spegne l'interruttore o va via la luce, ritornano sempre al colore originale (a differenza delle Yeelight che memorizzano anche l'ultimo stato, volendo) e il secondo è che la scelta è piuttosto limitata. Basti pensare che fino a pochissimo tempo fa non esistevano quelle con attacco E14. Il sistema Hue, comunque, si basa sul protocollo open ZigBee e, di conseguenza, supporta anche punti luce non Philips. Ovvio, però, che ne deve valere la pena (tradotto: bisogna spendere di meno). Di recente ha colpito il mio interesse il sistema Lightify di Osram, che è più giovane ma già discretamente fornito. Su molti prodotti il risparmio è minimo nei confronti delle Hue, per cui non rischio, ma ha destato il mio interesse la lampadina Osram TW E27 da 810lm.

Questa ha un prezzo molto interessante al momento perché è confrontabile 1:1 con la Philips Hue White Ambiance con temperatura colore dimmerabile ma invece di 35€ la Lightify costa solo 9,99€. Ne ho prese un paio e, seppure un po' scettico, sono riuscito facilmente a farle funzionare col mio Hue Bridge 2.0 senza necessità di acquistare il gateway di Osram. C'è un'unica accortezza da seguire, ovvero quella di accendere la lampadina solo dopo aver avviato la ricerca di nuovi dispositivi dall'app, altrimenti non la rileva.

Per quanto riguarda il resto, viene riconosciuta come una normale Hue e la luce emessa è praticamente identica. L'ho confrontata con quella nativa e l'unica differenza è che la Osram sfarfalla leggermente nel cambio temperatura (che va da 2700K a 6500K). Non va ad intermittenza, non si spegne, solo non effettua un cambio perfettamente sfumato come la Hue. Mi sembra un problema decisamente sopportabile visto il risparmio di ben 25€ al pezzo. Per dirla con maggiore impatto, la medesima lampadina Philips (ovvero quella bianca con temperatura dimmerabile) costa 3 volte e mezza il prezzo della Osram.

Al momento sono ancora in fase di sperimentazione e onestamente mi aspetto di notare qualche altra incongruenza qua e là, infatti il plugin Hue per HomeCenter 2 di Fibaro me la trova ma poi non riesce a controllarla, cosa che devo provare a risolvere altrimenti non riesco a farla accendere dai miei script LUA. Però con tutti gli accessori ZigBee funziona, infatti la controllo regolarmente con il telecomando Dimmer Switch del sistema Hue e funzionerà di sicuro anche con tutti i sensori di movimento che usano lo stesso standard (io ho già quelli Z-Wave di Fibaro e quindi non penso di provarli). Diciamo che non è sicuramente come una soluzione nativa al 100%, però se serve aggiungere dei punti di luce bianca (calda o fredda) controllabili dal sistema Hue senza spendere la cifra richiesta da Philips (che è davvero troppo troppo vicina a quella dei modelli RGB) penso sia un'ottima soluzione. Inoltre mi ha incuriosito il fatto che gli altri prezzi di Osram Lightify non siano così bassi rispetto quelli delle Hue e in effetti noto che la TW E27 (codice 4052899926165), spesso è prezzata ben oltre i 9,99€ (spedizione inclusa di Amazon). In alcuni siti di settore supera i 30€, per cui questa potrebbe essere un'offerta temporanea di cui approfittare.
