Everything people need to know about Smart Lights

One of the most significant inventions of the 19th century, the light bulb, changed the way people lived and made it much easier to illuminate their homes. When people fast-forward to the 21st century, they’ll see the design and technological advancements that, at one point, seemed unattainable for conventional light bulbs. 

These developments couldn't get any better, but PhilipsHue smart lights came along. Although the term "smart lighting" is not exactly new, what does it mean? 

What is smart lighting? 

A modern method of illuminating a person’s home is smart lights. To automate the lights or control them remotely, they can use smart LED bulbs that have software that links to an app, smart home assistant, or another smart accessory, doing away with the need for conventional wall switches. 

Traditional light bulbs are turned on and off by flipping a switch. They may occasionally be hooked into a dimmer switch, allowing them to adjust the lights' brightness or dimmers. However, the functionality of conventional home illumination is typically limited to this. 

On the other hand, smart lighting allows them much greater control over their lights. Each smart bulb and LED-integrated fixture will enable people to operate it wirelessly with their phone, tablet, or smart assistant, such as Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa, even though they are still connected to their home's electrical system. 

Benefits of smart lighting 

There are additional, less obvious advantages to upgrading to smart lighting besides being able to automatically or remotely adjust their lights.

Traditional light bulbs only allow for the control of the lights through a switch. People must wire a dimmer switch into their wall if they want to be able to dim their lights. However, an app or other intelligent accessories can manage smart LED lights, including dimming. 

Usage of less energy 

Smart LED bulbs use less energy because they last longer and produce less heat than traditional ones. 

Connectivity 

People may build an entire smart home by combining their smart lighting system with additional devices like cameras, audio equipment, thermostats, or home assistants. 

Automation 

Individually or collectively configured smart LED bulbs are available. When a particular time comes, people can program timers to turn off all the lights automatically or arrange their lights to simulate their presence by turning them on and off when they're not home.

Whether people are utilizing warm-to-cool white light or color LED lights, preset and customizable light sequences create ambiance for every event with just the touch of a button.
