As we prepare for another Hungarian GP, let us remember the magnificent mess that was 2021's race, as commemorated by the great Alphamaxnova1 and LightLune.
Here is to another equally mad race.

So, ISOs are really weird, right? We don't really understand them or how they work. We know they came from the Sea. Who's to say there's not more of them down there?
I just had the wild idea of, like, freaky deep-sea-mermaid-like ISOs trapped in the sea, avoiding all surface programs and staying hidden from Clu. They changed specifically to withstand whatever was put in the Sea to kill them and now they're really odd and sort of monstrous, like many programs treated them.
I'm sure someone's thought of something like this before. I just finally put these pieces together myself. This concept could be used for a lot of things, but I'm getting one specific image in my head right now...
Rinzler falls into the sea. His lightlines flicker from orange to white. Half a dozen curious young ISOs find him sinking in the darkness. They circle around him for a while, brushing past and tapping him. When he doesn't respond but also doesn't derezz, they take him back to their underwater city...
[There was more to this, but it started getting harder to continue without a ton more explanation of stacked headcanons.]

Some Sirens on break
Going more off my Siren HC from before, these 3 have different jobs.
1st from the left, she's a companion. Usually she helps programs destress by clearing unneeded data and improving their sleep cycles. The capette she's wearing is a design by one of her other friends. She likes being tall, so she wears the classic siren heels.
2nd, she's the bartender. Bartenders usually have additional clothes, if any energy spills, you don't want that directly on your circuits. She regulates energy intake for programs. If you're running low, she'll make something just a bit stronger, or weaker if you don't need much. She's not on break, but it's a slow day, so who cares if she talks with her friends. She needs to be standing all day, but she likes a little heel, so she chose wedges.
3rd, she's sorta cleaning crew, like a plumber. All aqueducts and energy stores need care and cleaning, and that's her job. She goes out and fixes minor problems, and keeps everything efficient. She needs to be steady, so no heels for her. Her hands and neck have additional protection. It's not an unsafe job, but it isn't easy either.
Sirens tend to have less lightlines that are more continuous than other programs. Usually they connect from the mid torso down to their feet, but there are many variations and exceptions.

Tron Headcanon: Lightlines (Light Lines) vs. Codelines (Code Lines)
This post is about taking bits and pieces from Tron media and putting them through a bullshit machine to make my own thoughts and opinions about minor details in the Tron Universe. These assumptions are NOT Cannon.
Many assumptions made. Loose evidence. I wanna do Admin-permission-only-things to Tron and this will tie into my nsfw (eventually).
MDNI, suggestive and language. Yap session.
Lightlines (Light Lines)
Lightlines are seperate from Codelines (Code Lines). Lightlines are the packaging, the identifiers and aesthetics of the Programs Flynn creates on his Grid. It's a way for them to be more stylish (Flynn is more so a creative over a programmer) but also a way to make them feel more human. Program's suits are "clothes" in a way. It's why they're able to change them in Tron: Uprising- or at least disguise them.
Tron 1982 looks different not only because its a different Grid, but because it's a grid made for practicality. Programs are programs, traveling along to several different grids and between different devices, they don't need to look all pretty. They free-code (read: free ball) cause why would they waste time when they have tasks to run? Who's gonna go through and make program's packaging look all nice and aesthetically pleasing when the only people to see them are already gonna mess with the code anyway?
Flynn is. On his own grid, cut off from external networks (for the most part), he can make his programs look however he wants and by god he's gonna make them look attractive (the man is raging bi, you can't change my mind).
Codelines (Code Lines)
So what's the point of Codelines? Codelines on Flynn's Grid is like whipping off your shirt. It's intimate, its embarrassing, its a source of pride, all in one. All Programs have Codelines, its like they're genetic code printed on their bodies or, in a way, like showing another Program "Here, this is me. This is the me that the Creator made".
ISO's are weird because they don't come in packaging aside from some basic garments (as seen in Uprising (perhaps the Grid finding commonality in Flynn's previous creations? Maybe that's why Radia was fully suited when she came out of the Sea of Simulation?)). Their lines also aren't as simple and symmetrical/perfect like Flynn's Programs.
Probably why Dyson remarks about their lines being "unnatural" in Uprising (a funny irony being that they're probably more natural than anything else on the Grid(minus Kev)).
Cyrus is a special case. "He's free coding on the Grid!" You're absolutely right. He is. Shameful. But he's dangerous because he's so damn charismatic that programs don't care. Let me repeat that; Programs did not care that Cyrus had the equivalent of nothing more than a speedo and a mesh shirt on because he was so damn charming. Besides, walking around with his Codelines out is the least concerning thing about that Program.
I'm not gonna get too far into Tron: Evolution, but the ISOs have a unique Sub Culture that cropped up in Bostrom, an Outlands ISO colony. Their aesthetics focus around Self Modification and putting as much difference between themselves and Basics (Flynn's Programs) as possible. Tattoos shown off on half clothed character models are common. Their Tattoos seem to be an expression of Lightlines so perhaps these are done to fully hide their lines, even going so far as to "replace" the ones that would normally be on their skin. It's saying "Look and see my proclamation of Code. I choose what you see, even to the very make of my being. I am neither ISO nor Basic, I make myself." Pretty radical stuff.
So anyway, when Programs are getting funky, their Lightlines flicker and glow/dim. Its a reflection of themselves but not them like Codelines are. Their Codelines are hidden but can still be interacted with, usually by a Program they've been at least a bit intimate with. They gotta know where the buttons are to poke 'em.
This also makes Tron's scars scene funny cause Beck was essentially just flashed by one of, if not the most, revered Programs on the Grid. Tron wouldn't care, having been imported from Encom's Grid.
Thank you for reading my yap session. I probably wont clean this up but this is my headcanon for reasons why the Programs look different across medias and how they interact with one another in the humany way Flynn likely made them to be.

firm believer that on the encom system the grid suits are actually apart of the programs like an exoskeleton but on the grid programs it’s just clothing

So since one of the things mentioned in H.F.I.V.E. ask prompt is magic using super spies, what magic types/powers do the characters have? Also how does toxic masculinity play a role story's theme?
Ooh fun question! Okay!
So they technically don't really have actual magic, they just have really strong imaginations. I'll expand on that in a bit.
Basically, all spies have special watches that supply them with their spy suits. The suits grant them the regular power ups you'd expect, like flexibility and stuff, but nothing op. The spies are given a set amount of gear every episode that they can use, kinda like in Totally Spies. Or kind of like in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse XD
Each spy also has a special tool. These tools are regular everyday objects, but using their heightened imagination and their watches' spification(?) they transform into heir signiture spy gadgets with special abilities! This is essentially a mix of the Persona metaverse rules and how the Tokyo Mew Mew girls get their weapons. Basically, they have an already existing object they're somewhat attached to, and when their imagination is finally unleashed after training, they declare the first thing that comes to mind and from that point on that object will be able to transform into their signature gadget. Harper doesn't have hers yet since she's still a trainee.
Let's go through who has what now:
Hayden has a pen that can transform into the Lightline Quill, a pen that draws terrain outlines with beams of light that become solid, climbable, or walkable surfaces. Can double as a flashlight.
Fern has a bracelet that can transform into the Milkyway, basically projectile beads that constantly stay on target. They can be used as spy cameras that transmit info to his watch.
Ike has glasses that can transform into the Trace Goggles, a pair of goggles that can render the wearer and anything/one they touch invisible. Can be used for night vision and heat signiture tracing.
Virgil has a keychain/motorcycle key that can transform into the Exhaust Pipe, a smoke blaster that can emit different kinds of smoke.
Evan has a phone that can transform into the Master Key that can emit a strong EMP. It can double as a hacking device that can control anything electronic remotely as long as he can break into it.
These gadgets lose power when the spies stop believing in their usefulness and lose belief in themselves or let fear control them.
This, I feel, is a good point to divulge into the subject matter!
Toxic masculinity often teaches boys to suppress imagination, vulnerability, or emotional depth, labelling them as weak or childish or y'know "not man enough"! For these spies, that mindset literally weakens the gadgets since belief and imagination are what powers them. A boy raised to “tough it out”, "be a man", "man up" or “grow up” might struggle to power his device because imagination is seen as unmanly and unadulty (I'm pretty sure that's not word). Say if a spy fears ridicule or something like that about their gadgets and denies them (their authentic strengths), the gadgets will weaken, which kinda mirrors how toxic masculinity punishes deviation from stoic norms.
This angle will mostly apply to Virgil, specifically because he will start off as the weakest spy due to his kinda toxic masculine beliefs with lacking emotional intelligence. But as he grows emotionally and sheds his harmful habits and views, his abilities will also grow as a spy to show that dismantling toxic masculinity leads to empowerment and not effemination (that's probably a word idk).
The Black Snake also specifically embodies these toxic ideals, mocking imagination, enforcing conformity, and using power without empathy. This would mostly be shown through his treatment of his minions (especially Black Thorn) and how defeating the spies means thrusting them into a stereotypical world of an "unappreciated man" to him with his methods, possibly even recruiting them to his cause. Defeating him will not be about brute force and which side is the most powerful one, but about courage to believe, feel, and create.
Phew! Sorry this took so long, I wanted the toxic masculinity commentary to at least make a little sense ┐('u`;)┌
