SHINee's Key - look i love all members of shinee, they probably are my ult group these days, but if you forced me at gun point to pick one it would be This Guy. key is kind of the embodiment of the tension of how faggy can you be in public without ever coming out and - well, coming out. i also have a deep respect for how much effort he puts into his solo career, and how interesting and innovative his album concepts have been esp since he got back from the military

Exo's Kai - ah my precious Nini who is here with us largely to vibe. i think he's such a great example of like, how you can be totally hands off in terms of the creative direction of your albums LOL and still be a great performer? this man lip synced his way through his own concert and looked great doing it, 10/10. but i also love just how much he clearly loves his job and meeting other idols and getting to go on tv shows and learn new things about people and the world LOL a giant puppy of a man

TXT's Soobin - speaking of giant puppy men, this is one of my Large Son's Whom I Adore. my fave thing about soobin is that he's like. never held more than a single thought in his head at one time, and everyone he has ever met adores him? like every 4th gen group has a member who is just completely enamoured with soobin, and soobin does not appear to have done anything in particular to have earned this other than being a big guy who likes anime and hedgehogs. i also enjoy how everyone in his group agreed that he needed to be the leader, especially the guys (yeonjun and taehyun) who might have preferred to be the leader themselves, specifically because they knew giving it to the guy who didn't want it the way that they did would probably be a better outcome for the group. amazing head empty man. he's so tall.

Zerobaseone's Hanbin - something is wrong with this man (positive) (fond). no uh, this is a man who has gone to great lengths to change both his physical appearance and personal affect in order to take one last shot at achieving his kpop dreams and something is wrong with ME for how feral this makes me. another guy in the 'legibly queer' column (as in, he was a competitive waacker and faggy as hell doing it lmfao like, sure i'm sure there are straight guys who waack but at a certain point you're allowed to start assuming Gay instead of defaulting Straight ok). he is a control freak. he said his favourite type of person is someone who is competent but pretends not to be so that he can do things instead. one time he was so horrified by his member wearing socks on the bed that he REMOVED THAT BOY'S SOCKS FOR HIM? ON CAMERA? HANBIN WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU

WayV's Kun - the dad to end all dads. i have endless leader feelings about this man, who is the leader of SM's final push to conquer the China market that was actually going really well until [redacted], and suddenly Kun is the leader of a group that has members in different countries, that cannot promote in China while the pandemic is going on and cannot promote in Chinese while in Korea. technically WayV is under the umbrella of the broader NCT group, but xenophobia will have stans staying 'they just don't vibe for some reason'. this man's group was shelved for over a year due to international geopolitics and he held it and them together admirably, and it's been SO good to see WayV employed in 2023 and gaining momentum again. also he can fly a plane ( a real one), somehow made PUBG hot by being very good at it, and one time he was live and you just heard from the background one of his members yelling from the shower KUN GE THERE'S NO HOT WATER, like, every man in this group just has it hard wired into their brain that if there is a problem, kun ge will fix it. and he does.

Respectfully disagree you saying that Jimin is your ult. You and your anons must be sleeping during FACE era if you didn’t see how vile Jk solos were towards Jimin. Tagging spotify to split LC version, saying the most disgusting and vile things about Jimin because he had 2 remixes, making SA edits about him. Heck forget about 8 months back, it was just 2 days back Jk solos were tweeting that they hope Jimin’s plane crashes while he was returning back from Hungary. They were DMing people and saying horrible things about Jimin just because they praised Jimin after the Stuck With You dance reel. That poor person went private because of that.

Jungkook was the one I biased first! I always loved his voice and personality but something shifted for me last year that made me finally add him to my bias list <33 Chungha is a recent bias of mine, I just started to get more into her music but she's becoming one of my ults

2. Between 2 and 6, who are you more attached to?

NOO THIS IS HARD 😭😭 Yeonjun has been one my of biases since 2019 and I've literally seen him grow up and become ever more talented through every era. I'm always so proud of him :') As for Wonwoo, he became my bias bc I saw myself in him and it felt nice to have an idol who has similar characteristics as me. When he spoke about his feelings during hit the road, i understood those same feelings. In summary, I can't choose between them 😔

3.If you were to spend a day with either 3 or 1, who would you choose and what would you do?

Why must you do this to me 😭😭 I will say shua since he's like my #1 ult and honestly idk 🧍🏼‍♀️ i think it would be nice to go to a coffee shop and then just walk around an unfamiliar city or!! go to an arcade or amusement park during the evening and just goof off. if i had money then we definitely could just randomly fly to another country like he did with mingyu.

4. What is your favorite physical feature about 9?

her smile 🥺🥺 she's one of those people where i think she could brighten everyone's day just by smiling. I also love how she smiles when she performs, you can just tell she enjoys it

5. What is your favorite part of 6's personality?

I love how reserved he is, yet he gets all cheery with the boys sometimes. There's some moments where you just see him keep to himself and will add a comment or two but 5 minutes later, he'll joke around with the guys and be chaotic with them.

6. If you were to tell 8 anything you wanted, what would you tell them?

that he has one of my favorite voices!! absolutely love it when he sings, and that I hope gets more opportunities to do solo songs or another djj project

7. Between 1 and 2, whose closest would you raid?

A little hard 😭 I'm going to say Yeonjun bc of how stylish he is, but I feel like Joshua would have comfy clothes which i also love.

8. What is a style that you want to see 3 try?

He has done it so many time but I love!! when he tries a style that is not only fashionable but that looks cool when he dances (if that makes sense?). I would love to see him do camp, I know he would pull it off so well

BOTH LMAO but if not wrong, jiwon is either the same height as me or an inch taller and chungha would be either an inch or two taller 😭😭 my shorties, no wonder they're my biases

...sigh 😭😭. I both love loona and svt a lot, idk if there's one I can really choose 😭😭 but I'll go with seungkwan bc he hasn't been talked about here and i'm DYING to talk about him. I ADORE his verses in svt songs and all of the covers he does. He is a genius when it comes to adding emotions to his singing, just listen to his verse of samex3 or his cover of forsake. he has such an incredible voice, i live for his adlibs. he has so much singing talent and I always smile hearing him high notes. truly one of my favorite singers of all time 💖💖

So earlier, I watched "Bangbang Con" one of BTS' Festa celebration for their 10th anniversary. It was my first ever BangBang Con as a baby army. I laughed, danced, sing, and cried a lot earlier but overall I really had fun.

I've only been an army for a year now, but this is my 2nd Festa since I started stanning them around May 2022, and was able to witness June 2022 Festa where I thought they're going to break up as a band/will be on hiatus. (TW: June 2022 Festa dinner)

I really did cry that time during their June 2022 Festa dinner even though I was a fan for a month then, because I thought they're breaking up for good - only to realize that they have to embark on their journey as solo musicians, even only for a little while, then to complete their mandatory military service, and hopefully come back stronger together by 2025.

I never really expected this from myself though because when I was younger, I wasn't really into anything KPop. I don't hate it at that time don't get me wrong, I just didn't see myself liking it plus I always thought I'll never understand korean anyways - but fast forward to now, I can read hangul (I only understand the translation of basic words, I still have to learn the language yet), and a big simp for Bangtan Sonyeondan (also known as BTS).

As soon as I got into KPop which 2 of my bffs highly influenced me with, I started collecting their merch such as albums, photocards, photofolios - I am a big Jeon Jungkook bias (my biases are Jungkook and Yoongi, bias wrecker is Taehyung) to the point I even bought this exact Nike Jordan shoes he was wearing from their PTD concert!

I also downloaded important KPop apps such as WeVerse, VLive (we miss you), Stationhead, BTS In The Seom (which I am very much addicted to before) - voting apps even! I also bought fan merch items such as shirts, jackets, bucket hats, and bags. I attend cup sleeve events sometimes, then I got into Twitter BNS (I don't really sell though, I only buy/trade photocards), and the most vital part of all KPop life - STAN TWITTER. (Yes, the profile below is my stan twt account)

Yes I am on army stan twitter. It is the best and the worst part of being a KPop stan. Most days they love you, most days they hate you but on both days I'm paid though HAHAHAHA.

My friend who has been a KPop stan ever since she was a little girl told me not to enter stan twitter because it can really be toxic - which is true as I've witnessed it already. But one of the perks of being on stan twitter is that it feels like a community, a safe space for you to declare how much you love and adore your ult bias group (mine being BTS), and just tweet your appreciation towards your fandom/favorite group. Also, to support them by voting, buying, and streaming their old/new releases.

Yes, there are days where in stan twitter can be too much, but at the end of the day it's still a safe space for me to express how much I appreciate my idols without being judged by people who hates KPop or people who aren't really into it.

So, going back - I watched BangBang Con earlier and I cried a lot because I realized how much I love BTS. I already know BTS way back, but I didn't become a fan until last year. I do feel some regret not knowing them when I was younger, but you know what they say, you meet them when you need them the most.

The relationship between me and BTS may be parasocial, but BTS did help me a lot. So let me tell you how I met them.

Last year, around May, I started using Facebook reels whenever I get bored watching KDramas or any series in particular. I deleted my TikTok app then so I decided to just watch through FB reels just to get me entertained until I have the energy to continue watching whichever series I was watching at the time. I stumbled across BTS videos a lot but I always scroll up because I wasn't a fan then.

Until I came across a clip of this VLive of Taehyung, Jimin, and JHope eating (this was after their Permission To Dance concert in Las Vegas) on FB reels laughing on a "Yoongi, marry me" comment.

The "Yoongi marry me" line has been a long standing inside joke of BTS. At first, since I wasn't really familiar with any of the members, when JHope read the comment and the maknaes (youngest) laughed while they were eating, I really thought he's Yoongi - until I was able to memorize their features and names, I realized that Yoongi isn't even on this Ppyong live.

I slowly became interested then with BTS. Whenever I scroll through my FB reels or Instagram reels, a lot of BTS clips from their shows such as Bon Voyage, DalBang (Run BTS), In The Soop, Bangtan Bomb, and etc. were already plaguing my account. Not until I saw this POV edit of Jungkook using PSY and Yoongi's "That That" that really got me locked into BTS.

Since then, I already became a hardcore Jungkooker - saving his photos and videos left and right, trying to get to know details about him by researching about him - but mostly I got to know him by watching clips on Facebook/Instagram reels.

Since most of Bangtan videos and clips are really funny, whenever I get curious as to what happened to the whole thing - I immediately search it on Youtube. Until my friend told me to watch "Run BTS", bangtan's variety show. At the time, it was only available on VLive, but you can watch it now in Youtube ;). Since I started watching DalBang, I fell in love with the tannies more. VMinHope opened the door, Jungkook closed it, but BTS locked it.

Until then, I became one of BTS' biggest fan. There was never a day where I don't talk about BTS or go crazy about them especially when they release new songs. I always see to it that I'd buy their new albums (of course I save up for it or make sure I still have extra money to buy one), and watch their content - maybe not on a daily, but whenever I have the time or whenever I feel like it.

I'm not being OA, but BTS really did help me heal a lot. I know I did all the work, but the tannies really became my inspiration to do better and be better. I know they're just 7 men from South Korea who doesn't even know I exist, I wasn't even there when they debuted in 2013, I can't even attend Min Yoongi's AgustD tour in Bangkok at all because it got sold out immediately, I haven't watched them (OT7) perform live, I do have 10 years of content to catch up on - but the more I got to know bangtan, the more I adore them. The more I listen to their songs and understand the meaning behind each lyric, the more I love them.

I cried a lot while watching BangBang Con because they made me feel like I have them to lean onto. When the world seems to big and wide and I feel alone, they make me feel that I'm not alone. When my emotions get the best of me, they can turn all those feelings around.

I may not see them or touch them or even talk to them, but I hope they know how many people they've saved. And I'm one of them.

BTS will forever hold a special place in my heart. Yeah, I may not have been there during their debut in 2013, I may not have experienced their HYYH era, or Wings era, or HYYH era, or Butter era - but as Yoongi said, "don’t feel regretful that you weren’t there since our debut. the day when you first met us, is the day we debuted."

Bangtan Sonyeondan saved me and healed me. And I will forever be grateful for them.

basically, wooseok is in a group called up10tion. up10tion are a very underrated group who have never really gotten the attention they deserve from their own company. in 2019 wooseok and jinhyuk from the group were sent onto produce x 101 in what i dub “wanting the nu’est effect” by which i mean an already established group having members sent onto a survival show hoping that it’ll do for that group what going on produce season 2 did for nu’est

pdx did not have the nu’est effect on up10tion (though it did for victon and had the complete opposite effect on myteen) and both wooseok and jinhyuk released solo albums which performed better than all of their group’s 5 year long discography did combined

then wooseok had this comeback with sugar and got 2 wins. up10tion still havent had a win. companies for some reason hold music show wins very highly and threaten groups with disbandment if they dont get a win by a specific time. wooseok getting not one, but two wins as a soloist proves to his company (top media) that he can do it on his own and therefore, they dont need up10tion who in their 5 years have proved incapable of getting a win

the problem i have with wooseok getting these wins is quite simple, how? the first win was m countdown and he was up against hyuna. hyuna. how did he beat her? there’s only one way and that, as with every single show mnet make, the voting was rigged to give him what i called a guilt win for how mnet ruined his career with the x1 vote rigging scandal. even more confusing and troubling is that for his second win, he won music bank against iu. the nation’s sweetheart iu. there is no way in fair competition he could ever beat iu. so did top media buy his second win? why would the show that had given bts’ dynamite (a song not even released for the korean market and therefore not eligable for a win) wins for 4 months suddenly be giving kim wooseok a win instead of giving the win to iu? nothing about it makes sense

having been a fan of up10tion for many years and of other top media groups, this honestly just smells like disaster for up10tion. they’ve found that jinhyuk is quite the actor so they dont need to put him back in his group and now wooseok is capable of getting wins by himself so he doesnt need to go back either (despite both of them practically pleading on tv shows to go back to their group because they dont like being soloists). at this point there are people that dont even realise wooseok or jinhyuk are from a group because they’re not allowed to acknowledge their group members (even though jinhyuk still lives in the dorm and can be heard in the back of their vlives...). top media doesnt need up10tion to make them money anymore because wooseok (and jinhyuk) can make them more money without their group and top media arent gonna waste time, effort and money on 8 (currently 7 because our leader enlisted with 2 hours notice to the fandom after being on hiatus for a year which they also didnt tell us about until 4 months into the hiatus) men that dont make them any money back which can only mean one thing. disbandment

obviously i dont want up10tion to disband. they are one of my ult groups and jinhyuk is one of my ult biases. i do not want to see up10tion not as a 10 member group. i want them to succeed (which they would if top media used their brains and put jinhyuk and wooseok back). i can use victon as an example here, they had two members take part in produce x 101, one got into x1, one did not. play m put byungchan back in victon and they immediately got their first win and then seungwoo returned to victon after x1 ended and shock horror, victon got more wins. but top media are, to put it bluntly, fucking idiots

My url has been wickymicky for a while, though I would have placed the group at like 4th or 5th if I listed my favorite groups in order. Yoojung has been my number one ult bias for a long time, but the group overall wasnt one of my absolute top ults initially. As it went on though, I really fleshed out my love for all members of Weki Meki during the year. Dazzle Dazzle and Oopsy were big moments for me, even though neither of those songs were what I hoped they would be. Don’t get me wrong, I love them, but not the same way that I love Picky Picky, Tiki Taka, La La La, IDLYG, etc. Once Oopsy came out, I thought it was pretty guaranteed that I wouldn’t have a Weki Meki song in my top 10, despite my appreciation for them as a group growing every day. By that point, they were absolutely one of my ults. Weki Meki are tied with Dreamcatcher for my favorite groups in kpop now. But… their 2020 releases just didn’t hit the way I wanted them to… until Cool

It’s funny, I had a feeling that it was gonna be good. I couldn’t explain it lol. I didn’t expect a third comeback, I thought they wouldn’t follow Oopsy up until sometime in 2021. But for some reason, when they announced it, I just had some gut feeling that it was gonna be different. Even before teasers started dropping. I was right, too. It’s very different. God it’s so good lol. I’m gonna be honest though, a large part of the reason it’s landing here in the top 5 is because of just how invested I am in Weki Meki lol. I guess we used the term “biases” for a reason, huh? I’m pretty biased lol. One of the most exciting things about this song is just that it gave me lots of opportunities to see Weki Meki shine.

For what it’s worth though, I do think this song is really high quality all on its own. It’s not just that I’m biased, because this song would be high on my list regardless. I love the production. I love the way that main low synth sounds, I love the way it kinda warps up and down as it plays... it’s a striking sound. The first part of the chorus is pretty monotone (the “Cool. jom deo tteugeopge.” part), and I wasn’t sure if that would begin to annoy me, but it hasn’t really. I like it. I think it’s fine because the second part of the chorus is different and has more singing, I think that helps the monotone part feel more like a cool addition to the song rather than a detractment. A lot of it feels really smartly written, imo. It’s not the most amazing and moving and powerful song ever recorded, but for a song called Cool about being cool... it definitely feels and sounds cool lol. Also, I think the members gave some of their best performances of their careers so far. Both in the song itself as well as on stage. They silenced anyone who would try to write them off as being “just Dodaeng” or “nugus”. Suyeon got a solo dance part and she pulled it off with overwhelming charisma. Lucy is establishing herself even more as the group’s other rapper, and her personality in her rap parts feels distinct from Yoojung. Rina, Elly, and Sei are also killing it and turning heads, I’ve seen a lot of appreciation for them all over. And of course, Dodaeng themselves aren’t slouching either. Doyeon’s presence in this song is amazing, she’s really making use of her talent for conveying that energy. Yoojung’s rap and dance skills are honed to the finest point they’ve ever been, she’s my ult for a reason. Love that little tomato.

Oh yeah, and there’s one other member I didn’t mention. Bro. Dude. What the fuck happened lol. Lua evolved this year. It’s like she just flipped a switch and decided “you know what? every comeback from this point onwards is gonna be my era” and she made it happen. It’s not just a haircut, it’s her entire energy. She’s overflowing with confidence. She’s always been talented, always been confident, always been zany and ridiculous and funny, but I’ve never seen her exude as much of it as she has during the Oopsy and Cool eras haha. Unprecedented levels. Her parts in Cool are the most iconic parts of the song, hands down. She steals every scene she’s in, and it’s hard to watch performances of the choreo without just watching her. Again, it’s not just her haircut, which was even shorter in this era than it was during Oopsy, I think, even the way she dances is different. It’s like she took off some limiters that were mentally preventing her from popping completely off while dancing, and now she’s free haha. She had moments of that in the past, but nothing like this. Even when she’s doing the same moves everyone else is, she does them with such style, in a way that’s very much her own. She really gives Yoojung a run for her money as the main dancer of the group, and the idea that theyre both co-main dancers has never been more true. Lua destroyed Cool, and I’m not sure what it would be like without her. You know what’s up.

Uh, anyway lol, yeah this song is great. I think Kick It and some of the others below it might be better songs at just the fundamental base level, but I enjoyed this song at a threshold that was pretty much unmatched this year. It’s ranking here at 5th place, but actually it’s the song I’ve listened to the second most this year. It came out in October, and in just three short months I listened to it more than I listened to any other song this year (except for one, lol). And the wildest part is that I don’t even think it’s in my top 3 Weki Meki title tracks haha. When I say I love this group, I mean it

Racism amongst kpop fans.

For those of you who don't know me or haven't spoken to me a lot you should know I am one of the Admins of this account. I try and see the positive of a lot of things, but I also stand up for what is right when I see wrong. You may not have to agree with my opinions all of the time, but I am open to dicussion and is willing to hear your complaints and concerns as a black kpop fan 😇. I try and listen to all sides without being too hostile and reply as nicely as I can. As I said earlier I am just as upset and frustrated with this whole situation just as much as the rest of you all and I have been for the past two days. The fact that K-Armys had the audacity to even mention the Charelston shooting is enough to make me fly all the way to Korea and smack all of em including Bighit, but sadly I'm a broke soon to be college student and cannot do that. So if you have any disagreements about my sentiment down below or would like to add something to it please feel free to tag me @zozoppl and leave a reply or KINDLY ask me question in my inbox here or on my personal account. I'm all ears and willing to listen. Even if you are just venting I will listen.

This issue in regards to the current racism in the kpop fandom has finally come into light, but the hypocrisy is real with this one. I just find it funny how the only reason why this issue has come up is because this time it involves a bigger fandom. For those who haveb't caught up ai am reffering to the Fancafe racism in regards to K-Armys being blatantly racist and malicious towards black-kpop fans on FanCafe due to a leak about BTS' comeback.

On one hand I am glad the issue regarding racism in the kpop fandom is coming to light, but my main issue of concern is that the only reason why people care all of a sudden is because it is related to BTS. Black kpop fans have been dealing with racism, colorism, and appropriation from MULTIPLE GROUPS IN KPOP as well as THE FANS of said groups. The fact that people are using this a leverage to state that their biases and ults are better than Armys and BTS is not only silencing the real issue at hand, but CLEARLY shows that not a single one of yall (white and non-black poc) actually give a damn.

The fact that some of you all are saying "oh they're just antis" or " get over it" and usongba hashtag " ARMYSLOVEARMYS" is completely dissmissing the entire issue at hand. I'm pretty sure that BTS has seen it, but that means Bighit has seen it too. Saying that Bighit should say something is like hoping SME is going to say somethig about the numerous times their own artist have been racist. Meaning that there is a slim to none chance of something being said. For all we know BTS probably feels like shit about it because the last thing they want to do is see racism on their homepages. But I digress...I'm getying off topic.

What is pissing me off is that everyone is assuming that racism is onky an issue within the BTS fandom which is COMPLETE BULLSHIT. Look, as a black kpop fan myself I'm just as pissed off as the rest of you and I understand where you all are coming from and it is JUSTIFIED and NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO TAKE THAT AWAY. Racism had been rapid within the kpop fandom for years amongst 75-80% of kpop fans worldwide. NONE OF THIS IS NEW. Like i said, What is making me angry is that it takes a bigger group for these issues to come to light when only a group with more recognition for it to finally become a serious issue. Perfect examples of this would be BigBang, Super Junior, SNSD (yea...they've been colorist don't try and sugar coat this in the replies.), EXO, and Mamamoo. But when smaller groups such as Girls' Day(again they've been colorist...you have google use it.) Highlight (again...google it. I'm not gonna coddle u to prove my point.), Monsta X (i.e. Jooheon), Wendy from RV, Shannon (the solo artist), and Bomi from Apink do racist and hurtful bs the issue doesn't blow up as big as it does because a lot of yall non-black kpop stans have the NERVE to even try and sweep it under the rug so that when an issue as big as this one comes up yall have the fucking aidacity to say that " Oh well *insert* isn't problematic" or " See this is why *insert fandom* is better." Like NO. STOP RIGHT THERE. This isn't about yall or ur faves it's about HUMAN FUCKING RIGHTS!

NOW...to address this situation with BTS. I am just as angry and hurt as the rest of you and I'll be dammned if I let people walk all over me a disrespect my culture and my people. But accusing BTS of not caring is a load of shit. We all know how greatful and BTS has been to us as fans and has even gone out their way at one point to ACTIVELY participate in celebrating MLK and Civil Rights. Now I know that might not seem like much, but lets face it- if BTS didn't care they wouldn't have done it (we know who they are as people by now.) plain and simple. Again, you guys have to realise with all of the overshaddowing by non-black stans they either think it's a non issue OR they have seen it and would most likely feel hurt and want to address it, the COMPANY itself won't let them which pisses me off even more because it relfects badly on both BTS and Bighit.

(sorry if youve said this before) mmmm yeah good decision, i feel liek thats probably a wise decision. this is my first album release as a kpop stan (not counting mixtape oh) so i think ill get it for sentiments sake. yeah! im excited for the new music! mingi was the one who got me into them, but atm my bias is seonghwa followed by san, wooyoung and ateez but jonghos high notes man *swoon* he, yeah atm ive got jake, jay, nikki, jungwon and sunoo down so just trying to get the rest :) heh, yeah kard i rlly only got into cos of bm, ive seen him like interacting with a lot of idols and he seemed nice so i decided to check out the group. ikr gunshot man *another swoon*

no noe! i didnt know what it was until i got it lol. thx toffee ill try and take that to mind :) yeah lol im on a waiting list thats not going to be free until late september so hopefully i can hold on until then. hope ur okay, that sounds like it sucks, hope you can find someone. maybe ill just take you along on my phone and the therapist can get a two for one patient deal lmaooo. mmm, sorry no i havent mentioned it before, i dont rlly talk abt it much. uhhh basically hypermobility? if you google it, it doesnt seem bad, jsut joint flexibility but ive got the severe end of the stick, leaning towards ehlers danlos syndrome so thats fun. basically it just makes it hard for me to exercise, run, jump, stand or just walk for long periods of time and gives me a lot of joint and muscle pain so... thats fun! but obviously so many other people have it worse than me, so i try not to complain. normally in young people it will improve as they get older, but my doctor said bc its severe in me, its unlikely to get much better. but again, i dont have the worst lot in the bunch, so its all g.

oh its good that its not the bad type of rain, a light sprinkling can be relaxing sometimes. aww thx darl, the concern is appreciated but it went pretty well and i managed not to cough too much on stage or kill myself trying to run around to the other side of the stage in the pouring rain so thats good! oooh tea buddies! my dogs a labradoodle, but shes a bit more of a feral poodle lol not much labrador in her at all, unless its her relentless urge to hunt down every bird that has ever walked this earth smh :((( hopefully they can come back on soon, does uni have dances?

i could talk about god's menu felix for hours man. the teaser for god's menu that featured his part on the bridge made me look forward to the mv release. you: biases chan, also you: lixiesbabyhands. yes you are more whipped than you think. i can't believe orange haired minho was given NOTHING during that era but they kind of made up for it in the b-sides. i also hope it stays that way. the distribution for this era was pretty fair.

Lucy! I heard of them through a mutual, and since I have weaknesses for both bands and violins, I decided to check them out. Actually after first listening to some of their music, I had to step back for a couple days to reset my preconceived ideas about them, because you know how pop music, especially K-pop I think, tends to use violins to create an epic or sad feeling? Combining that with the two other K-bands I listen to regularly being Onewe and Day6, when I heard "K-band with a violin," you can guess how I was expecting something very different. But I did come back to them after recalibrating, and quickly fell in love with their music. It's so sweet and comforting! It's very warm, if that makes sense? It can feel like sunshine and a fresh breeze, or a cozy blanket and a cup of tea by the fireside. Like TXT, I think Lucy not being among my ults is more about my relative lack of familiarity with them than anything else.

Like I said, I don't know much about Treasure. I know they debuted fairly recently, although with my time perception, a "fairly recent" debut could be any time from 2018 to last month, I've seen the name Bang Yedam around a lot, they have several Japanese members? several of them are very cute and round, and it's been too long without a comeback, because it's YG, but that's pretty much it.

I do have a lot of fun talking about music! I love analyzing things and picking out little details in general, and my parents are both very musical people and I took a few semesters of music theory, which have helped me really Listen to music.

The next mission is about ult biases, which is going to be. A little difficult for me. I very rarely have only one bias in a group, and in a lot of groups (including four of my six ult groups I mentioned), I can't even narrow it down to two or three. But I guess I might as well start by saying that my biases in Pentagon are Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok, and in Oneus, they're Leedo and Xion. If I get into why right now, this ask will probably get a little unmanageably long, but who are your biases in your ult groups?

I totally understand that about violins in kpop!! Like the pure essence of string instruments is there for the epic dramatic effect. I always think about Lucy in comparison to the score for Peter Pan, specifically the James Newton Howard one for the 2003 live action movie (one of my favorite btw not to nerd out about Peter Pan in a kpop post) but the like magical sound that I associate with Peter Pan is what I associate with Lucy. They just have that like happy, fairy-like, bright tone to their music and I love it.

Treasure does have Japanese members!! 4 to be exact!! They are very cute and round!! At least I have their variety show to carry me over until their next comeback.

That's so cool!! My parents aren't musical at all, other than just really liking music lol but I did do a lot of musical things growing up. I played the clarinet and tenor saxophone. I also took a semester of music theory in high school!! That's how I found out I'm tone deaf, like for real. I just thought I was bad at singing but now I know I'm like actually tone deaf and that's why I'm terrible!! I still love music a lot though (**cough cough** i'm in love with film scores **cough cough**)

I've always been pretty steady with my biases (which is a shocker given how much I love every member of every group I stan but its true)! With Boyfriend I've biased Kwangmin practically from day one but in the past like 3 years I've started to be bias wrecked by Youngmin. You know, you bias one twin and you can't get away without being bias wrecked by the other. With Seventeen I bias Vernon (overall group and hip hop unit), Hoshi (performance unit), and Woozi (vocal unit). With TXT I'm a toss-up between Yeonjun and Soobin. I could be Yeonjun leaning one day and the next Soobin leaning. With verivery I bias gyehyeon but minchan is very much bias wrecking me all the freaking time. With onf I bias e.tion!! (i have to explain why in a later message but he acted like an idiot once and I was in love). With treasure I have like bias levels I just love them so much. My top tier biases are Junkyu and Yoshi and my second tier biases are Asahi and Yedam!! And I don't have a bias in Lucy as I haven't gotten to know the members very well yet. And sam kim is a solo artist so he's my bias too.

SHINee!! These boys have always brought me so much happiness through their music and by just being themselves. They were the first group that I really explored deeper discography-wise, and I fell in love with all of their music, they have never disappointed me. I love how they are not afraid to explore different music genres and yet still have that SHINee quality to them. Each album offers something new and exciting, and yet their older music stands up against time. Like I will honestly never get tired of listening to replay or love like oxygen. These boys work hard just like any other group, however I can really feel the heart they put into their work a bit more than others. And the fact that SHINee is a family devoted to each other, and that they are open and honest to shawols made me feel like SHINee world was a comforting and accepting place to be a part of. They have some of the nicest fans, and the boys themselves are some of the sweetest people I’ve ever seen. I love them so much and I cannot thank them enough for all the positivity they have given me.    

4.) Ult Bias and why you love them?

Key!! One of my SHINee boys <3. When I first learned the members of SHINee, I had the hardest time with choosing a bias let me tell you. Ultimately, Key stole my heart. He has such a unique sense of humor that I really appreciate, that is straight forward and honest. Not only that, but he is not afraid to express himself whether it be through his extra-ness or even his fashion. He really puts himself out there with a confidence I wish I had. Key also has a kind heart and is not afraid to express his emotions as well, he looks out for his members and he cares about others. Not to mention that he donates money to provide art supplies to school children every year so that they can have an outlet in which to express themselves creatively. His voice is also very unique and the fact that he can rap and also sing is amazing to me (I would love to hear a solo song by him). Lastly, his smile always warms my heart and I love seeing him be happy as well as the other members.

Definitely It's Raining by Snuper has to be up there, due to the footwork alone. Also U by KNK because it kills me everytime (Jihun is in his element and out to kill). And pretty much all of SHINee's choreography (though Lucifer and everybody choreo is legendary). Also I love the collab song between NU'EST W and Seventeen, Heaven, it's choreography is ridiculous and amazing. Also, Lilliabbay by Seventeen's performance unit is a work of art. Plus Pentagon's funny choreography for Shine gives me life.

28.) Favorite live performance?

SHINee: Almost any Tokyo dome performance, Odd eye live (the one with key's eye patch), Symptoms live, Selene 6.23 live and honestly tell me what to do live with all the members wearing chokers. Also taemin's sayonara hitori hit the stage with koharu.

KNK: Angel heart live, Rain (the live perf. with the cool laser lights as the rain)

These dorks will always have a special place in my heart because they were the first kpop group I ever got into. They pulled me in with their lovely voices, chipper songs, awkward acting (tbc anyone?), and lovable personalities. Honestly they are all such hardworking people and they put everything they have into creating content for their fans and thinking about us everyday. I guess the main thing I love about them is how genuine they are in everything that they do. Also they are huge memes

4) Ult Bias and why you love them?

Jeonghan!

I debated a lot about my answer to this (some may even say I debated too much) but I eventually came to the realization, that while I still love Sanha with my whole heart, I don’t have quiet the same attraction to him that I do to Jeonghan. Sanha is like my child and I want to love, protect, and see him grow into a wonderful young man, but Jeonghan is already a grown adult. 

But enough about Sanha this is about Jeonghan. Honestly where do I begin? I’ll be honest but what first drew me to Jeonghan was his hair. It was an eye catching look and really made him stand out in a group full of talented people. That said, I’m still really happy with his short hair and I am convinced that he can not have a bad hair style because everything looks good on him. But he is more than just his hair. He is an incredibly smart and innovative person when he wants to be and I just love that the majority of when he wants to act on those traits is to mess with his members. Its the way he shows he cares about them and its so cool that he wants to share his love by making people smile. This is gonna get too long so I’m gonna stop, but just know that I also love his voice, style, and that he is a deeply layered person.

So many to choose from! Tbh I’d have to go with Sei or Sandeul for very different reasons. I choose Sei because Sei and I share a similar personality and she is someone that I could see sharing a quiet moment with but also having fun when we felt like it. I choose Sandeul because it would never be a dull moment with him and I would love to hear him sing in person. 

14) If you could date any idol, who?

Tbh I don’t really look at an idol and go “wow I would date them!” most of the time I just don’t see us working out or I would much rather be friends than have any personal relationship with them. That said, essentially the only person in all of kpop that I can see myself having even a slightly successful relationship with is Joshua.

 Sunrise and Moonrise both by Day6 because Day6 can’t make a bad song and I can’t choose between those two albums.

Yes, Jewel is my real name although my parents admit I was supposed to be named elizabeth but changed their minds last minute after I was born how cute and I’m currently in university. I study political science and japanese for those wondering (because yes, I am japanese and it’s helpful when you live in hawaii to have that degree yk?). If any of this stuff is even mildly interesting and you have any curiosities, pls feel free to ask me!

I try to write some things when I can, so feel free to take a look at my masterlist. I also read A LOT of fics on this site, so also peep my recs if you feel like it. Warning: its mostly fluff and angst and almost always includes smut but there’s some really good stuff worth reading still!

I try my hardest to be active as much as possible but it’s taken me over a year to finally get used to tumblr lol marklee and i both struggle with complex technology i guess Of course, there are times when I get busy with college and will probably seem to drop off the face of the planet exam season kills but now that I’ve been in quarantine for a month, I figured now is the best time to start building an active tumblr routine.

Bias List 

Before I begin, I will warn that this is basically a giant NCT shxtpost. With LOTS of hyperlinks for educational purposes and absolute crackhead-ery. I’ll eventually make a separate list for other groups I stan, but this blog is mainly NCT and this is already so long so I’ll leave it as this. Enjoy!

Johnny Suh, it’s official. Don’t know how to explain, but I love everything about him. In the end, it’s always him. damn i sound like y/n thoughts but istg it’s true From SM Rookies to NCT Life to MV behinds, he’s the one. But I’ve also come to realize that I find myself most relatable to him as a person and I think that’s why no one else can trump him wow narcissist much jewel It’s kind of just my gut feeling. It also helps that hes the fluffiest tall, muscular tight booty hottie on the planet. Not gonna lie, I HAD IT BAD FOR MARK LEE still do and yet Johnny overcame that. If mark lee were my first love, johnny is my soulmate.

He didn’t stand out to me much in the beginning because I was either deaf or blind but after Chain, the game was OVER. +moon taeil in shorts?? serve them thighs honey. Love you bebe tomato <3

BUT Doyoung is the #1 bias wrecker here because have you seen his cover of beautiful on masked singer?? have you?? if not, let me educate you. Also his collab with Sejeong?? Literally the cutest MV ever, perfect for Christmas, listened to it every year since it’s release.

THE Jung Jaehyun. For reasons that need no explanation. but ill give it anyway smh

After watching the performance of herin and jaehyun singing a whole new world I knew that was it for me. (I still watch it once a month for my jaehyun-related health and to honor SM’s biggest loss, seo herin and ji hansol but thats for another conversation) back to jaehyun His vocals are unique in NCT and bring a nice color to their songs, the man looks good in literally anything, and I’ll probably say this about every member, but I love his dance style--body rolls for days sis. Definitely my ideal type, which my boyfriend is 100% aware of; no secrets in my relationship ofc which explains the wreckage. Pretty sure 81% of the fandom gets wrecked by him daily, so I think I’ll stop here. 

NCT Dream 

Renjun.  why? i just think he’s neat but no really, it was this performance (ok actually this got me ALL SORTS OF WRECKED) and this fancam that had me falling in love with him but were gonna ignore the fact that I get bias wrecked DAILY by all the other members  GOd-tier vocals, personality for daysssssss, variety KING HUANG RENJUN. Safe to claim that I go into renjun feels about 3x a week. Check my twitter for proof. +dnyl renjun was a blessing and I sometimes cant believe that it actually happened. How do I explain?? He’s literally the best boy, but when he gets all worked up....let’s stop there before I have to go to confession again.

But for fun, lets list why I have biased every dream member at some point shall we? (in no particular order) Dream might just be my ult group, songs always bop, members at star quality 

mark- yes i am including mark bc he was the reason i even started stanning dream dreamies leader since mmc days, mentor, A1 rap skills, ad libs go crazy, unparalleled dancing style, hardest worker, cutest watermelon advocate ever, all around amazing person can you tell he used to be my ult? + he’s a good christian boy and my catholic *ss has to confess my sins for being a simp for him 24/7

chenle- vocal GOD, most steady live vocals in kpop, laugh to die for

jeno- i cannot resist his eye smile i wanna cuddle and onstage charisma-2:54 “let’s goooooo” and i alskfdfjlkdldkfa. 

jaemin- “other than my members, i don’t have any friends” and yet he’s literally the most caring and wonderful little puff in existence fight me pls dont im a pacifist 

heachan- idk why but donghyukie feels like he could be my best friend and also cant stop staring at him in their dance practices his body proportions are unreal and his vocal ad libs?? don’t even get me STARTED on heachans vocals

jisung- he is my son, but also my son’s vocals?? MWAH that voice got me second guessing if he’s really my son 

WayV 

Ten Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul another member where it kinda just....happened? In the end I was like “damn, when did you sneaky bugger get in my heart?” He’s got a similar vibe as Johnny AND DO NOT COME FOR MY THROAT FOR SAYING THAT THATS MY OPINION Like Johnny, I see myself in Ten. There are so many reasons why I love Ten, so I’ll make it simple and provide them to you. 

Reason 1 - Performance/dance  he just hit different, he’s THAT good. Reason 2 - vocals the amount his vocals has improved?? UNMATCHED. Reason 3 - INTELLECTUAL (still trying to find the clip of him talking about different kinds of love) Reason 4 - multi-lingual KING ok so this vid is him struggling in mandarin, but imagine, you speak thai and english and learn korean to debut and all of a sudden your agency says “ok learn chinese now.” MANDARIN IS ONE OF THE HARDEST LANGUAGES TO LEARN. Reason 5 - bad b*tch he just radiates bad bitxh energy in everything he does, and I appreciate a bad bitxh

BUT I love wayv’s chaotic energy and chemistry so much that I literally love them all dreamies watch out

+winwin AGAIN and with Ten here i don’t even think i have to say that i tweeted about this everyday for a month and im still not over it. This specific dance really allowed winwin to shine even though ten is my bias. It really allowed others to see the fruit of his classical training even in modern dance which he never trained in. Not gonna be repetitive and SCREAM  say that he’s underrated, because we all know that already. Just show winwin some love, ok? thank you.
