Tenzin got back to his house and for once it was quiet, confused where the small army he shared his house with was he approached his second eldest daughter Jinora. "Where's korra?" Tenzin asked. "With Asami". "And Ikki and Meelo?". "With uncle Boomi". “And your mother?”. “Out with Aunt Kya”. Tenzin smiled everyone was taken care of and he could finally relax. "And y/n and Bolin?" Tenzin asked relaxing into his chair. "They'e in y/n's room" Jinora shrugged and Tenzin jumped up "with the door closed? Y/n" he bellowed pushing the door open with air bending. "Okay okay im sorry" he heard you yell and Tenzin sighed having your boyfriend stay here was making him age faster.

You and Bolin were in your room relaxing on the bed preparing to watch a movie. For once you didn’t have to babysit your younger siblings or train so had rushed off for some privacy with Bolin and your dad almost kicked the door down. Your dad was insanely worried about leaving you and Bolin alone despite the fact you were dating and Bolin was the sweetest guy in the world. Bolin had been trying to show you the mover he was in for week but you never had a spare moment where you could be alone with him. So when your dad had gone out and left you and Bolin with no task it seemed like the perfect time. You were determined your dad wouldn’t stop another one of your dates but of course he managed to. When your door flew open you sighed and called back you’d leave it open as per your dad’s many rules about you and Bolin. You looked to Bolin worried this would ruin the date but Bolin didn’t seem to mind. The movie started and you moved closer to Bolin to lean against him and he accomodated you hugging you against him. You and Bolin were just getting into the movie, despite the noise your family was making throughout the house when your father knocked on the open door and walked in. "Y/n its getting late, i think you and Bolin should get ready to go to sleep soon so he should go do that in his room soon". You nodded at your dad in reply so engrossed in the film you didn’t realise he hadn’t left. Tenzin coughed and you both looked up to see he didn't look impressed. "Ow you mean now?" Bolin asked and Tenzin nodded "well yes i think that'd be best". You blushed as Tenzin stood waiting glaring at Bolin. Bolin jumped up obediently while you pouted annoyed. Bolin paused the film and gathered his things and smiled "we can finish the movie tomorrow". You nodded "i suppose" and Bolin went to step towards you when Tenzin actually growled. A literal noise escaped his throat at Bolin daring to step closer to you. You sighed but Bolin just smirked and left shooting you a smile. Tenzin watched him go staring into his back and then turned to your door and fixed two bells around the door handle. "Dad!" You cried "what is that?". "Nothing just a decoration...". "You're doing it so you’ll know if i leave my room! Do you not trust me?". "I trust you y/n but i do not trust teenage boys! And i have to do my duty as your father! Having your boyfriend under the same roof..i have to take precautions". "But you didn't do this for Mako and Korra!". "Yes well Korra is older than you and Mako is more responsible than Bolin". You groaned and Tenzin coughed "you weren’t going to break the rules so this shouldn’t be an issue for you". You rolled your eyes "fine whatever...can i go to sleep now?". Tenzin nodded "i am only doing it because i love you y/n, if you have children you’ll understand". You huffed and Tenzin frowned "well goodnight y/n". "Goodnight dad" you said exasperatedly as the door closed but you didn’t plan on sleeping. Your dad hadn’t put bells on your window so as soon as you heard him go to bed you got ready. You gathered what you needed and climbed out of your window before airbending onto the roof. You carefully climbed across the roof to Bolin’s room and landed outside his window. You knocked on Bolin’s window film projector in hand and saw the curtains swing aside as Bolin realised it was you. "Y/n" Bolin grinned hanging out of his window "what are you doing here?". "Well we didn't get to finish the movie because of my dad so i figured we could now without him knowing?". Bolin hesitated for two seconds before grinning "yes come on it!". It had only been lightly raining but Bolin still wrapped a blanket around you before bringing you back to your prefered spot on the bed. He bustled around getting the movie ready and the secret snacks Tenzin didnt know about before jumping down next to you.

The film finished and Bolin looked at you anxiously "so what did you think...i wasn't sure if it was too far fetched and could you tell i couldn’t do my stunts properly and i didn’t look that great in that scene with the royal guards...". "Bolin" you said grabbing his shoulders "it was great! You were great in it, your stunts were amazing, your acting was really good and you looked well..." you trailed off blushing "basically it was amazing and i really enjoyed it!". "Really?" Bolin asked and you nodded. Bolin seized you in a hug and it made you blush he valued your opinion so much. "Im so glad you like it" he smiled putting you back down "your opinion means a lot to me" he blushed and you smiled. "Yours too Bolin" you told him "you're one of the most important people to me". Bolin's blush grew and he looked down his eyes slightly glazed. Bolin smiled and took your hand "you're pretty important to me too y/n" and kissed you softly. Bolin was always so caring and affectionate he just always made you feel loved and safe. He never pressured or rushed you, he was the best man you'd ever met. You broke away blushing and smiled at him before sighing "i should probably go". Bolin frowned "are you sure i mean it's not even that late...plus it's raining really heavily outside you could get a cold or get blown off the roof! Or lost". "Lost? My rooms practically across from yours!" you smirked but Bolin shrugged "i still don’t think you should risk it". You smirked "so what i stay here until the rain stops...that could be all night". Bolin shrugged "i just think it’d be safer it probably won’t be all night" he argued but his tone told you he hoped it would be. You smirked and nodded "fine..i guess i can stay for a bit longer and see if it stops". Bolin grinned "that's a very good decision y/n i must say". "Stop it" you pushed him before blushing as he grabbed your hand. You smiled and leant into him "i might nap while im here for a bit, if that's okay?". Bolin nodded "of course" and gathered even more blankets to keep you warm. You smiled getting into the blankets and Bolin got in beside you. With a bolt of lightning the rain came down ever harder. You noticed and Bolin pretended to look away. "i didn’t do anything!" he said when he felt you looking at him. "Mh hmmm?" You asked laying beside him but you were smiling. "Promise" Bolin smiled putting an arm around you. Bolin was so broad you fitted against him easily and curled up against his side. Bolin wrapped his large arm around you and you felt do safe and warm with the rain pounding against the window. "Goodnight y/n" Bolin smiled kissing your forehead and you smiled closing your eyes. "Goodnight Bolin".

You vaguely heard voices and groaned trying to sunk further into the warmth and Bolin. You buried your head against his chest and fell back to sleep when suddenly Bolin’s door was thrown open. "Y/n" Tenzin screetched and you and Bolin jolted awake. Bolin let out a yelp as Tenzin stared his eyes bulging. "You didn’t put bells on my windows?" you offered and your father turned even more red. "I’ll be putting bars on your window young lady if you dont stay in your assigned room!" He yelled and to your dismay others flocked to the room. "Did you find her?" Asami asked before smirking "ow...i see". "She's in here?" Mako asked "but thats Bolins room" before trailing off as Korra stumbled in too. "Well you did want Y/N to help rebuild the air nation" Korra smirked before she halted as Tenzin spun on her making the avatar gulp. "Is there something funny about my little girl growing up?" Tenzin yelled at them "no? Didn’t think so! Y/n get out of there right now and march yourself to your room this instance". You distangled yourself from Bolin and all the blankets and stood up red faced. "Sir it wasnt y/ns fault..." Bolin tried but Tenzin silenced him with a look. "You are grounded young lady and if i ever find you in his room again i'll...i'll take away your bison!". "Dad...." you groaned but he shook his head "no buts now to your room". You rolled your eyes but did as he said.

Later you sat in your room avoiding your dad's wrath when you heard someone near your window and opened your suprisingly still unlocked window to see Pabu. "Pabu?" You asked as he scampered in and dropped something on your bed. You grinned to see it was a note from Bolin with a wild flower attached "so guess you're our go between huh Pabu" You asked the fire ferret as you fed him a treat as payment. Pabu made a happy noise and you smiled before turning to Bolin’s note. "Sorry i got you in trouble but it was worth it" he wrote "think your dads gonna have us under surveillance for a while but i'm sure we can work around it. I'm game if you are and next time we wont get caught. Love Bolin". You smiled hiding your note and wrote a quick reply before handing it to Pabu who ran off to give it Bolin. You picked up the flower Pabu had also brought and smirked, you had the best boyfriend ever. Father be damned you’d find a way to see him.

this was all over tiktok and ive seen some people do it here so...here we go...some of these are probably hot takes, you have been warned.

most of the fandom seems to forget that katara is a young girl with deep-seated trauma that she never truly dealt with. cut the racism and misogyny. shes not the “token straight,” shes not annoying, shes not technically the “mom friend,” she deserves a better life (and life partner) than she was given in canon.

katara’s comment to sokka during the southern raiders was harsh don’t get me wrong, but it was justified 

most of my issues with characters fall on their writing...not the characters themselves if that makes any sense

bakoda should have been canon

why didn’t katara, toph and zuko reunite in korra (they’re literally my three faves i was robbed, plus they all just seem sad...)

mako is hot

if we are talking combat, earth is the strongest element...toph can genuinely just drop a rock on someone and its over

republic city is absolutely unnecessary and frankly, stupid. capitalist propaganda :) why would you american-ize this series? im baffled

i just hope that azula got therapy and some love...her actions were outrageous but as far as we know she was conditioned by ozai to just be a pawn

katoph = best duo (friendship and fighting) in the whole show

katara is not a sister to zuko...that role is for toph

(as much as i love firelord zuko) zuko should have waited at least a few years to actually assume the position but even then i truly think he would hate it and institute a democracy

the humor did not land in for me in lok (list of tried and failed for me is meelo, bumi, bolin, varrick, eska...)

i truly did not feel any strong emotional attachment to any lok character (causing me to be pretty indifferent to most of the entirely new editions to the show)

(i think the large cast did not allow for much development for really anyone, save for korra tenzin and maybe lin?, leaving them all to be pretty two dimensional.)

(also watch the second half of tsr again...they play off each other and work so well together)

this fandom demonizes zutara shippers for absolutely no reason while completely disregarding actual problematic issues that occur throughout the rest of the fandom

suki in the comics is practically a katara stand in

makorra felt like an attempt to appease the zutara shippers (it failed immensely)

should we love kuvira as much as we do? should we be shipping her with korra...?

in canon it does make sense that sokka could have been suyin’s father, but where did suki go? were they hinting that zuko and suki had izumi, meaning that sokka and suki broke up? but WHY? they were literally perfect with absolutely no complication in canon...tldr: post-atla is so ridiculous

Bolin HC (during Book 1/Book 2)

so you guys met at (you guessed it) a pro-bending match

you were an Earthbender for the Ba Sing Se Badgermoles, a widely known team because you guys represented such a big city and you guys were actually kinda good

the Badgermoles were constantly interviewed, put on the covers of magazines, and bombarded by fans. The people loved you and your team

and so the day came where the Badgermoles were put up against the Fire Ferrets

you had heard about this team a lot; how they lost a member of the team, then the Avatar, actual master of the elements, filled in that empty space

it honestly took you so long to process

anyways, your team didn’t get the chance to meet the Fire Ferrets before the match; you just threw on all of your gear and made your way to the play area

you saw the Ferrets and instantly saw Avatar Korra, the only girl on the team

honestly, you couldnt see her well, but she was so pretty

anyways

the battle started and the Badgermoles got the advantage pretty quick

you took out their firebender and was working on the earthbender while the rest of team handled the Avatar

the earthbender put up a huge fight, it was so impressive

he even knocked you back a zone, but you recovered and, with a streak of luck, knocked him straight out of the field

you guys won that round

the next round didn’t go so well

the fire ferrets managed to knock all three of you guys off the platform, resulting in a win and a knock out

this meant that the entire match went to the Fire Ferrets

the other members on your team were annoyed and angry, but you weren’t phased too much

after all, Ba Sing Se treated you all extremely nicely, whether you win or not

so after the game, your team found themselves walking through the Fire Ferret’s locker room so you could leave

after your team mates walked past, you stayed behind and talked to one of the Ferrets, the Earthbender

“Hey, you were really good out there.”

you took off your helmet, just like in the movies, and he swore time slowed

he just stood there, completely frozen with his mouth agape

you raised an eyebrow at his antics and it wasn’t until Avatar Korra slapped him on the back that he came back to

“You- good- were good, uh im- im Bolin.”

you just laughed at Bolin and smiled 

“My names Y/n”

you walked up close to him, noses inches apart

“And next time, we won’t lose.”

he just gulped and nodded him head

you turned and walked out, laughing quietly to yourself

the interaction boosted your mood up exponentially

anyways timeskip to when their looking for the airbenders

you were just chilling in Ba Sing Se in the upper ring

you and your team were given super nice houses since you were the city’s pride and joys

then suddenly, you see Bolin and his brother walking around calling for someone

“Bolin? is that you?”

that boy turned around so fast

he blushed so brightly when he saw you and kinda looked at his brother for help

“well, well, what are the Fire Ferrets doing in my city? you know.. i’ve been dying for a rematch!”

you were only joking of course

you knew that their team had broken up after the year you met Bolin

not that you were keeping tabs on their team

“yeah not right now, we’re looking for someone” his brother said

“oh? need some help?”

it took some time to convince Mako, the brother, but eventually you annoyed him enough to let you join

you were all walking through the upper ring looking for some kid named Kai, but you weren’t really paying attention

you maybe, kinda, might only be there so you could hang out with Bolin

from what you had heard (once again, you definitely weren’t searching for info), Bolin was an outgoing, loud guy

now he was quieter than a mouse

“So, i heard you were making movers now. What, getting tired of being a Pro-Bender?”

“Huh? No. I still play! I’m just doing this until the season starts...”

you were visibly happier after hearing that

you had thought that acting was going to be his permanent thing from now on

but still one thing plagued your mind

“And whats that princess girlfriend of yours gonna think about it? Ginger, I think her name was.”

Spirits you had done wayyyy too much research on this man

to be fair, you didn’t think you’d see him ever again

he blushed and stuttered out something about how they weren’t really dating, how it was a publicity stunt, blah blah

you weren’t really paying attention because after hearing his availability, you decided that today was the day you were gonna make a move on him

if it fails, then you don’t really have much to worry about; he lives in an entirely different city and you would only have to see him once a year

but if it succeeds; ohohohoh you’d finally get to live out your crush

the pros really outweighed the cons right now

so you guys searched for Kai for a while more

you decided that you were going to make some subtle hints toward Bolin

you let your hand brush against his a couple times, but never really looked up to see his reaction

then, you guys found Kai

he was stealing some old guy’s money by... airbending? why does this day just keep getting weirder?

so you guys chase him down an the streets and eventually follow him onto a train

unfortunately, he tricks you and sends you guys all the way to the lower ring 

you used to live here when you were younger, before you became a Pro-Bender, and it wasn’t a nice place

only now, it seemed to have gotten worse

all of you tried to find a way to get on a train back to the upper ring, but none of you had your passports or any money

if only you hadn’t left your house in such a hurry

you even tried to pull the “im a Pro-Bender!” card, but it didnt work

so you guys stayed on the streets for the day

Bolin was really trying to lighten the situation up, but it wasn’t really working 

“C’mon guys! Korra will realize that we’re gone and then come rescue us! I know it!”

she did not come

eventually, they had to find a place to sleep and no where was letting the stay for free

so they found a place in an alley and slept on the floor

yup, the dirty floor

you were not used to this

you almost wanted to stay up for the whole night to avoid sleeping on the ground, but Bolin assured her that it wasn’t as bad as it seemed

it was

“mmm here! you can use my jacket.”

he took off his jacket and laied it out on the floor neatly before gesturing for you to lay there

you hesitated for a second before sitting, not really putting up much of a fight because of how tired you were

Mako was already asleep somewhere across the alley and Bolin began gathering up some papers to use as blanket

then he found a spot somewhere away from you and started to settle down

“hey Bolin? do you maybe wanna share the jacket?”

he looked up so quickly and even the soft light from the lamp post caught his blush

“uhh sure”

and so he came over and laid halfway on the jacket so that you could take up most of it

he even offered you some of his picked up trash to use as a blanket, but you grimaced at the grossness and shook your head

you turned away from him, not wanting to be too overwhelmed by his proximity, so you didn’t notice that Bolin was staring at you

before you could completely fall asleep, a cool breeze burst threw the alley way and you began to shiver

maybe you should’ve accepted his paper

“hey Y/n you awake?”

since you were currently bouncing between consciousness, you decided not to answer

you feel him scoot closer

“okay please dont be mad at me when you wake up”

then you felt his arm cover your cold skin and warm you instantly

Spirits, he should be a firebender with how warm he was

you scooted back to meet his chest and let him envelope you

you fell asleep so quick

both of you woke up to Mako above you speaking loudly

“hey lovebirds, wake up”

since you already know of the position you were in, you didn’t really jump back with the surprise that Bolin had

“S-Sorry Y/n! You just looked so cold last night that I-” 

“its fine Bolin” you smiled at him “and thank you”

and so you guys went on with the day, thinking about stealing food, then meeting their long lost family

it was such a nice reunion

they talked a bit about their family history, but since you felt out of place, you settled for playing with the babies on the floor

you bended little toys out of rocks and watched as some tried the same

it was so cute

meanwhile, Bolin was having a little dilemma

he and Mako had just finished having a heartfelt conversation with his Grandma and now he walks out here to see you playing with little babies and laughing with them

you were just so cute

“you know she likes you too right?”

“huh?! what- staring? im not staring.”

Mako just sighed because wow his baby brother is so dumb

“just talk to her before we leave Ba Sing Se”

and so they got their passports and left to the Upper Ring

you were so excited to go back home and sleep in a real bed

but you had one more thing to do before all of that

“So uh Bolin”

“So uh Y/n”

you guys spoke at the same time

“Oh! you can go first”

once again at the same time

“listen Y/n, I think you’re really pretty and super strong, like you could beat me up if you wanted to and i think thats really cool.” *cue your confused stare* “um anyways what I meant to say was, I think I’m about to fight the queen of Ba Sing Se and if I make it out alive, do you think we could hang out? like just us two?”

prologue - part 1

“Ah y/n, there you are. Did you get the message to Viper?” Lightning Bolt Zolt asked you as you entered their hideout. You nodded, you’d been recruited by the triad a couple of days after the incident that resulted in your parents death which had been at least a year ago. They were surprisingly welcoming and the leader had taken a small liking to you but he’d never say that out loud. You had sworn your allegiance to the Triple Threats meaning you got full protection from the triad, a place to live and even bending instructors. 

The current hideout where you lived was situated under an earth kingdom inspired bar and was dimly lit by a couple of lamps hanging from the ceiling that shone a light in a small circle. The rest of the room was lit by candles that firebenders turned on and off. One of the black lamps sat right on top of a table where elder members gambled and played cards, it illuminated the table just enough for the people that played but barely affected the younger members around who were oh so desperately trying to see what was going on.

Near the back of the room that you first saw as you came down the stairs was a small bar counter where the majority of the alcohol and food sat. Lightning Bolt Zolt also had a velvet seat in front of said counter where he had a clear view of the entire common room. A lamp also hung above the bar counter but he had a couple of candles lit around him in order to seem more menacing.

Once you came down the stairs from the staff room of the bar, a couple of steps into the common room, there was a corridor that lead to a few rooms that only the higher ranked members could use but they had given you the smallest one in order to keep you safe as well as keep an eye on you. The senior members weren’t always there, they sometimes switched from hideout to hideout or lived in their own houses but always had a room in the basement in case they needed to hide from the cops or lay low for a while. Someone in the higher ranks was always on thin ice with the law so you usually had someone like Zolt, Zhen or even Shady Shin sleeping in a room across from you.

“Wanna take a go at firebending?” The leader asked before you exited the room. They were aware of your bending abilities but had noticed that you seemed very reluctant to even use your gift. They usually had a strict bending only policy but they made an exception for you as you were great at relaying messages between members, deep down though, they hoped you’d start firebending again because you showed so much promise in your hand to hand combat training.Occasionally puffs of fire would come out when you really got into your sparring sessions but refused to make anymore than that.

Much to Zolt’s dismay you shook your head. With a sigh, Zolt grabbed an apple that had been freshly bought that sat on the bar counter and extended it to you with a small smile. “No problem, remember Zhen is always available for more hand to hand combat. Isn't that right Zhen?” Zolt turned his head to make eye contact with the older member who nodded slightly before returning to his card game.

You shook your head but gladly took the apple out of his hand, only realising then that you hadn’t eaten since that small bowl of rice you had for breakfast. He excused you with a curt nod. You took that as your cue to leave the room infested with the criminals that had served as your family for the past year and head to the privacy of your room. Your room was quite small, just big enough for a bed and a small sort of hopper widow that gave you a small view of the bustling streets of Republic city. Thousands of people walked by you and the bar everyday and had no idea that the eldest triad were hidden there. You adored people watching even though you could barely see people’s feet. Next to your bed was a small bedside table with a candle that had been turned on by some firebender while you were gone. You only had a select choice of clothing notably three pairs of red pants to honour your fire nation heritage, two plain shirts, a white tank top and a beautiful blue dress that Shady Shin had gotten for your birthday not too long ago so you’d have something fancy in case you ever needed one. A few female members had promised to take you on shopping sprees when you got older so you’d blend in better as you grew. 

You also had a small stack of books that meant the world to you near your bed. They were your parent’s and one of them was your favorite book of Fire Nation legends and you reread whenever you missed them. You had no idea what you’d do if you lost it and you could never buy it again as your mother had even written little notes in it and doodled in it, she had even included a family picture. She had planned on keeping the book when you grew out of it so she could give it to you as a 16th birthday present but unfortunately, that’ll never happen.

An hour or so after you had finished your apple, Zolt called for you. His voice carried all the way to your room so you jumped up and quickly made your way to the common room. You noticed that the majority of the newer members had left and only select senior members like Zhen were still gambling. You made it to the leader’s side when you finally noticed that Shady Shin stood in front of the lightning bender with two boys next to him. One looked to be around your age, you would’ve guessed 14 at the most. He had jet black unkempt hair and sharp tangerine eyes, making you believe that he must’ve had some sort of fire nation heritage. The boy next to him was shorter and looked 10, maybe 11 and looked way too innocent to be anywhere near a triad but then again, so did you. The younger one had similar black hair but instead had green puppy eyes.

“Meet your new teammates, they’ll be living on and off around here but we’ll mostly help you with messages and accounting.” Zolt introduced them, extending a hand to show the two brothers. “Now y/n darling, why don't you give them a small tour of the place while I talk with Shady Shin over here.”

You nodded and indicated the brothers to follow you down a hallway opposite to the stairs as opposed to the rooms that lay adjacent to them.

‘I’m y/n, what about you two?” You asked as soon as Shady Shin and Zolt were out of ear shot. Whenever Zolt asked you to not listen to a conversation you obeyed, he was still after all a powerful and dangerous man. The taller boy spoke for the both of them.

“I’m Mako and this is my brother Bolin.”

summery-Bolin meets reader after winning a pro bending match and the to of you have a heart to heart 

I had met Bolin once before in the pro bending circuit. I am the water bender for The red sand rabaroos.I had gone against the fire ferrets in the quarterfinals and unsurprisingly the fire ferrets beat you. It didn't matter-not really my teammates and I did it for fun and the love of the game, while I know it was the brothers on the fire ferrets lively hood.

          I still went to see the semifinals but it wasn’t looking good for the fire ferrets so I decided to leave early. Well not really leaving, I wasn't quite ready to leave yet and besides walking home at night as a bender right now doesn't seem all that appealing. So instead I head to the balcony outside the training room just to look at the stars for a while. Leading you to where you were right now “i-i'm sorry i didn't realize anyone was out here” Bolin clutching his shoulder looking especially sad but I imagine it's because they just lost their match but i'm not going to ask, its impolite. 

“No its fine I was just out here to look at the sky before I get home but don't worry i’ll go now” 

“No no it's totally fine I was just out here to get some air y'know and you were here first so i’ll go” we both just stand there for a moment neither really wanting to leave but not knowing what to do “hey uh Bolin why don't you join me out here for a minute only if you want to though” god why were we both being so awkward?

          “Yeah sure umm not to be rude or anything but what's your name and how do you know mine?” 

“Well I'm y/n y/l/n and I'm the water bender for the red sand rabaroos and I think most people interested in pro bending know your name” I chuckle awkwardly and gesture for him to sit down on the bench in front of him. He follows my orders and I approach him gently touching his shoulder “can I heal your shoulder if you don't mind I have my healers licence and all that”

“Yeah that would be great actually” after that Bolin and I fell into easy conversation for the entire duration that I was healing him but after I had finished I asked a question that had been on my mind since he came out here

           “so how'd the match go?” His eyes light up as he recounts how the fire ferrets won their match him winning the earth bending one on one but I interrupt him towards the end 

          “wait if you guys won why were you so upset when you walked out here?” he starches the back of his neck while trying to think of a response

           “um its kinda a long story besides i'm not really sure I want to tell you” I try to hide my hurt expression though i'm not sure why i felt so hurt by his words after all i'm just a strange girl he just met 

          “oh yeah that's totally cool and all i’m sor-” “no no no I didn't mean it like that your just a really pretty girl that I just met and I don't want you to think i'm a total doofus and did I mention your really pretty and sweet and dont think im an idiot yet and i'll just shut up now” he finishes talking with a look of defeat on his face. 

          I can't hold back a laugh any longer he really is so adorable “i'm not laughing at you your just really cute especially with your rambling and I don't mind listening to whatever has you upset no matter how embarrassing, scouts honor”

“Were you even a scout?”

 “unimportant but yes a lemur scout for a whole year when I was 5. My point being you can trust me” after he tells me what happens from falling for the avatar to her kissing his older brother it's safe to say i'm shocked I didn't expect that at all. 

         “um that sucks dude I don't really know what to say i’ve never really had anything like that happen to me ever but it's safe to say she really sucks for doing that to you avatar or not” 

          I move over to the edge of the balcony looking down at republic city “no its fine you should see my brother he's so much cooler than me and I don't know what I was thinking when I thought she might like me more than him. I’ve never been the first choice to Mako not even when we were younger it was stupid to hope she might actually like me” 

          Stupid boy. I turn and grab his face forcing him to make eye contact with me as I say “Shes stupid to ruin whatever the two of you had for Mako and besides for what it’s worth I would definatly choose you over Mako any day of the week” 

          He leans down and our lips brush together, right as he's about to pull back I lean in more fully connecting our lips. Before the kiss can go too far I pull back he's about to say something but I put my finger on his lips silencing him “I think your really cute and sweet Bolin but your really emotional right now, but if your still interested in me tomorrow my training slot is from 12-2 p.m. and after if you want we can go get some food or go to a park or something” 

          His eyes lighten up with excitement as he exclaims “you mean like a date!” 

“yes Bolin I mean like a date” I share a soft smile with him and kiss him one last time on the cheek. Just as I'm leaving I yell “you know where to find me” over my shoulder.Well this has just gotten a lot more interesting

If only I knew just how interesting things were gonna get in the next few months.

Coments about The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra

and just a quick review of The Last Airbender

It had been a while since I had been taking a few days just to re-watch this show and it was great.

I will never understand why they thought it would be a good idea to make Aang and Katara Endgame as they even joke about her seeming more like a sister to him than a love interest in episode 17 of book 3.

By the way this episode is cool because it has the confrontation between who we are and the image we transmit to the world.

Toph has always been one of the favorite characters. Honestly what they did to her is something to applaud, what could be considered a weakness is actually her greatest power.

And it's so hard to find tv shows and films that address disability in such a natural and inclusive way, Toph is best earthbender because of it.

I know, I'm not blind, so I can't and shouldn't speak for them, but that's just a thought of mine.

Katara is literally the mother of the group and this makes sense since she lost her mother very early in her life and possibly felt that she needed to take the responsibility. And also she is an extremely powerful bender.

Sokka is the brains of the team. You can look at him and think he's the weakest in the group because he's a nonbender. But no, he's amazing. And he and Suki make a very cute couple of very powerful nonbenders.

I love Zuko, he has one of the best character development I have ever seen and he is also a very powerful bender but honestly he only had a chance against Azula in the Agni Kai because she has already lost her mind at that time.

By the way, Azula is one of those characters that I can only look at and think "Dude you need therapy". I can't feel "happy" when she's defeated, just sad.

A girl with only 14years breaking like that is just sad.

I know, she had theoretically the same creation as Zuko but Zuko had his mother and she didn't even have that.

Azula was raised, at least as I understand it, by her father and the 2 elderly women there, both of whom demanded a perfection simply impossible to achieve.

She already lost her mother and we saw how it affects her and after she lost her friends, and after her father left her behind… she just break.

It's sad.

And The Last Airbender succeeded in something where Game of Thrones and Avengers Endgame failed and did not live up to the hype, respectively.

From the beginning we know that Aang has a destiny to defeat the fire lord and this is built during the three seasons. Of course the hype for the grand finale is huge and when the hype reaches a certain level is dangerous because many productions cant do something to live up to the hype. And The Last Airbender has made it one of the best series finale ever not only because they live up to the hype but cuz they exceed it.

If It had fanservice, it was so well inserted in the plot that I honestly didn't notice. This is particularly is my problem with Avengers Endgame, very unnecessary and badly executed fanservice.

Now reviewing TLA I got in touch again with some older thoughts of mine.

First of all, how i miss the feel like now i miss those filler's episodes on TLOK. Now I can clearly see that the lack of filler episodes was very detrimental not only to characters like Mako, Bolin and Asami but also to Korra herself. I'd love to see Korra deal with a more "local" problem and not always something that was threatening the fate of the world. In fact, she even had moments like this, of her facing ordinary bad guys and preventing a guy from jumping off the bridge.

And second, the world is completely different in almost every aspect.

TLA the world is old, full of philosophy and myths and a certain magic. A world of war. And in TLOK it's a modern, realistic and "peace" world

Aang was an avatar who in a very short time had to learn a lot. He had to grow really fast and take on a responsibility he never wanted. It was wonderful to relive the journey of that boy in the iceberg who became a wise avatar.

Despite the war, in TLA the protagonists and the Avatar have a lot of freedom and their help is most often welcomed. In TLOK everything is really difficult and full of rules, for example, Korra is arrested in the first episode for defeating some bad guys.

I think this is what makes some people prefer The Last Airbender over The Legend of Korra.

Not to mention that when Korra says she is the avatar, many and even Lin Beifong have a totally indifferent stance as if it were not important. While Aang was seen as the hope for better days.

Another point is the bendings. A lot of people say the TLA bending were stronger, I don't agree. I think it's just a matter of context, in TLA the benders had to exceed their abilities because it was a world at war and if they weren't the best it would mean they wouldn't come home.

In TLOK bending is a sport , instrument of work and martial art. After all the world is in "peace" so why train for war?

I think we see the difference in fighting styles when Korra enters the pro-bending, after all the pro-bending is kinda like MMA, when most of it what counts is not the beauty of the execution of the forms but the efficiency and speed of the blows and these dont have to be much powerfull cuz they not there to "kill or be killed", its Just a sport.

The sad thing is to see how the White Lotus has decayed and become just a kind of elite bodyguard. But it is understandable that just like the Avatar and after the great masters were gone, their role in the world was reduced by thinking they were no longer needed.

There were some things here and there that I didn't like aboute The Legend Of Korra or at the time I first saw I didn't get it right. Be it the giant fight at the end of book 2, argh, I hated that. And at the end of book 1, although I was always thrilled , back in the day, I didn't understand Aang appearing out of nowhere. But what he says explains exactly why he is there.

As I understand it, Amon uses bloodbending to disable the benders. But Only the Avatar has the power to take or bring back someone’s bend  forever, because only the Avatar has the spiritual power to do so. And there when Korra was crying at that cliff, I think she thinks of killing herself but now I also think that there she may have accepted her fate and by accepting that she was now just an airbender, by accepting the lowest point of her life until then, she can open herself and enter into an avatar state. I think the creators just found a nice and cool way to show it instead of showing  Korra there crying and out of nowhere start to "fly" and bend the elements. The   avatars showing up was something in her head. It may be kind of obvious, but there are people who say it's not and the scene doesn't make sense

Remember when Tenzin later says, "True wisdom begins when we begin to accept things as they are."

In book 2, Aang tells Tenzin something that also fits Korra and The Last Airbender fanboys "... You're not me, and you shouldn't be me ..."

The ironic thing is that Korra would have been the perfect avatar in TLA, with her combative spirit. And Aang would have been the perfect avatar on TLOK, with his patience and diplomacy.

But they had to adapt. Aang had to be more like Korra and Korra had to be more like Aang.

Two sides of the same coin. They kinda like complete each other.

That's why i dont think it would be another avatar series with a avatar from Earth Kingdom. I mean, is like it's as if the cycle has already been closed.

But It Will be fun see some avatar dealing with the internet.

Chapter 09_The Revelation - Part II

- Surprised to see me? - says Amon staring at me. By bending one of the elements, I quickly make a fireball - You dont need all this violence. I know I should end him after everything he's done against my friends and me, but my curiosity is greater than my resentment right now. All I want is to hear what he has to say.

-You should be dead.- i say.His lips curved around his mustache and beard made a big smile. He is completely different. Not just by the beard, but there is also a strange scar in the left eye.

-Sorry to disappoint you, Avatar. -He says at last.

- but how? I read police reports that the boat exploded and that some fishermen found bits of it.- I say, showing my surprise. How can anyone survive that?

-At least this time you would not be cowering behind a mask. - I say and a brief moment of silence is between him and me.-"Now tell me, what is your involvement in the bombing?"

-Try to demand something from me again, and I promise I'll do pretty bad things with your friends.- He threatens. What a psycho i hate him.And I cant even fight him, I mean, I can, but I dont know what he's been doing all these years. He may well have further improved his skills, better not risk it. At least not now

- Touch my friends and i will do very bad things with you .- I return in the same tone and he laughs.

-Well, enough of that, I'll get right to the point. I will not reveal everything to you. -He gets up.

- What? People died in that suicide bomb! - I get up - You're going to tell me everything you know right now, or ...

- People die every day, Avatar. It is not always your responsibility. - he walks and directs the exit - Just one piece of advice: Be careful going back to Republic City. There are people out there who still follow my idea and different from before, now they have powers.- He turns his back on me.

Upon arriving at Wu's house, I am astonished by the news that Asami and Mako came looking for me. I knew at that time they would be worried, but would they come looking for me when they should be safe here? That seemed quite wrong. Almost as wrong as the fact that Amon was alive and saved my life. "Amon is alive! "- I need to get used to these words ...

Wu directs me to wait for their return, since according to the same, the two left a few hours ago and soon they would return.

-Where have you been?- Wu asks.

-Long story ...- I think of starting to tell parts of what happened when Asami enters in exasperation.

- Wu, we did not find her, Mako thinks we should call the .... KORRA! -She gives me a serious look and then walks toward me. I dont know if she wanted to hug me or give me some punch, the two options seemed very plausible at the moment. My doubt ends when she hugs me.

-Korra, Amon's been dead for years. We read the reports, remember? -Mako says approaching.

- With Amon? Are you sure, my dear? - Asami asks, and I nod.

- Hm .. The guy came back from the dead. That's really interesting. How about telling the details? - Wu talks and everyone agrees.

In the next few minutes I tell them everything that has happened. From the encounter with the subject moments before the attack, until Amon hurled me against the wall and fled.

Everyone listens attentively to the story from start to finish and when I finish, I get confused stares.

-Guys, I know it sounds crazy, but trust me. That bastard is alive.

-We trust you, babes. - Asami says - Dont you, boys? - the boys shake their heads positively and then Mako gets up and walks toward the stairs.

-I think everyone's going to bed.  Tomorrow Su and Bolin came to town bringing the suspect. We'd better be rested.  And Korra, do not worry, we believe you, okay?" - Mako goes up the stairs and Wu goes next.

-Do you think I should tell Tenzin?- I ask Asami.

- I think we should sleep. Your day was full of surprises and so you deserve a rest, right?- I nod positively and stand up.

I better leave it to worry about it another time. Asami is right, the day was tiring and full of surprises. I need a shower and a good night's rest. Tomorrow I decide if I should tell anyone else.
