Summary: Wanderer believes he has absolute, full control of the situation. He has you in the palm of his hand, and it’s only a matter of time before you cave. Why is it then that he’s the one with the fluttering heart, despite his firm belief that he’s never had one to begin with?

Notes: I wrote this with my female genshin oc in mind, but it reads like an x reader from Wanderer’s POV, Wanderer speaks Japanese and it’s implied that it’s the native tongue of Inazuma, the translations for the Japanese words are at the end (If any of it is wrong please kindly let me know! I made sure to triple check but just in case, don’t be shy and let me know if anything's amiss :>) , Alhaitham briefly makes an appearance because I love that man, slow burn fluff <3 (the best kind of fluff in my opinion)

Although he no longer goes by the name of Scaramouche, he still has aspects of his personality that coincide with his previous self.

He’s no saint.

He’s reminded of this as he watches you struggle to sew, your fingers clumsily dropping the needle again. You’ve dropped the needle so many times he stopped counting after thirty.

Still, he can’t help but admire your earnest expression as your usual grace dissipates. The incomplete doll rests on your lap as you take a moment to admire your maladroit handiwork.

“Scara, is this alright?” You ask him as you hold up the offending doll. He scoffs as he opens his mouth to tell you how disgusting it looks.

“It needs work. A lot of it. Are you telling me after all this time I’ve spent teaching you you’re still struggling? Are you dense or just stupid? And the needle, you’ve dropped it so many times that the product you’re creating reflects what little talent you have.” He pauses for a moment when the previous light in your eyes begins to dim and you avert your gaze. He carefully removes the unfinished doll from your hands before he inspects it in scrutinizing detail.

“…even so, this is good for a beginner.” He mumbles, in an effort to encourage you. The doll you’re making truly isn’t bad, it’s actually impressive how fast you’ve picked up the skills he’s taught you. Despite your clumsiness you’re making fast progress.

However, he doesn’t want to tell you that.

He curses under his breath when your eyes light up despite his harsh words. He refuses to believe he has a heart whenever you bring up the topic, but his doubts waver when he feels an unknown pang in his chest where his heart would be.

He wanted to be meaner with his words, he really did, but he always falters when your pure eyes stare into his.

It’s as if you can see his troubled soul every time your eyes connect with his lavender orbs, and every time he’s relieved when you embrace him despite the atrocities he’s committed in days past.

He’s a man of many sins, yet your smile continues to bless his filthy soul. He watches as you resume sewing the legs of the doll, and he skillfully hides the upward curve of his lips from your line of sight.

He convinces himself he’s nice to you only so he can use you as a means to his ends. Whenever he wants to berate you for messing up, he does it in a way he knows you find endearing. All to fulfill his own goals and ambition.

But if that’s the case, why is his non existent heart beating so loud in his ears as your face hovers mere inches from his.

“Your eyes are so pretty.” Your soft breath brushes against his lips, and he wills himself to stay put and keep what little distance there is between the two of you.

“Gods, you're annoying. Move back you imbecile.” He attempts to push you away, but you stand your ground. He feels himself flush when your hand grips his bicep to steady yourself against the force of his hand, resulting in you falling forward as you lose your balance.

He hates how he wraps his arms around you and ensures you fall against his chest so you don’t hurt yourself. Well, it was his fault you almost fell. That’s the only reason he does it.

He’s only doing this so you can’t say he owes you anything.

“Are you okay?” His voice is laced with concern, but he convinces himself it’s a facade. All so you’ll fall for him and become the perfect asset for him to exploit.

He looks up to see your face hovering over his yet again, but this time he can clearly see your beautiful orbs swirl with emotion as they stare into his.

“Wanderer…” He sucks in a breath as your soft voice travels with the wind like a beautiful melody. Alluring and enticing, he wills himself not to succumb to your natural charm.

“Get off me you moron.” He grunts. Before he can get up and remove yourself from him, you lean forward just as he leans up.

He swears on Celestia he sees the glimmering fake stars in the sky light up behind his eyes as your soft lips connect with his.

He involuntarily groans as he lifts a cold hand to your cheek. He tells himself he’s going to shove you off, but instead he caresses your cheek and makes no effort to move away.

When you pull away, he’s embarrassed at the way he momentarily chases after your addicting lips, only to pull back when he catches himself.

He pays rapt attention to the way you quickly press two fingers against your lips, your pupils blown wide with surprise etched on your features.

You look into his eyes, and he knows he’s going to hate whatever’s about to come out of your mouth when your lips form a seductive smirk.

“You didn’t have to create such an elaborate scheme to kiss me. I’m all yours whenever you want me, just say the words next time. Okay?” He hisses at the sound of your cocky chuckle, and his face explodes in a burst of color.

How unusual. If he doesn’t have a heart, what’s pounding so violently in his chest?

“You uncultured swine! Deplorable, miserable insect!! You- You pernicious and insufferable vermin, know your place! Are you trying to seduce me!?” He throws more expletives and insults your way, all the while trying yet failing to hide his adorable face that’s sporting reddened cheeks.

“Oh? Seducing you? I’m doing no such thing. If you’d like I can try in earnest and see where that takes us. What do you say?” His entire body shivers as he feels your finger trail down his chest.

Abort abort abort abort!

He’s quick to flip your positions, pull both of you up, move you back, and take to the skies as he soars away yelling more curses into the wind.

All you do is giggle with glee as you watch him fly away.

Who is that unsightly mortal talking to you?  And why are you gracing him with that beautiful smile that belongs to him and him alone?

His feet carry him to where you two are, and his mind struggles to catch up as you two look on expectantly and wait for him to say something. He works his jaw and allows his annoyance to show on his face as he glares at the man sitting across from you.

“Y/n, who is this?” The tall male asks. “Oh, this is my boy friend. The one we were just discussing.” Your smug reply makes a visible dent in his facade, and his head whips around so fast to face you that his hat smacks into your male companion. An audible “ow” is heard and Wanderer smiles at the harmonious sound.

“What are you on about now?” He gruffly asks. Before you can reply, the man stands up from his seat to leave. “I’ll leave you two to it. Be cautious of your feelings Y/n, he’s convinced himself he’s just trying to use you.” The man leaves without looking back, and he’s annoyed by how you wish the above average height male a cheerful farewell. “See you later, Alhaitham!” Your call only garnishes a raised hand in farewell from the man known as Alhaitham. 

“What is his relationship with you? Is he an acquaintance?” He’s only asking since Alhaitham’s onto his plan. He’ll gladly wipe Alhaitham’s existence from the face of this world just as he once did with his own existence.

“He’s my friend. Just like you. You’re my boy friend, and so is he.” Your lips curve into a smile as you watch the gears turn in his head.

Oh. You meant it like that.

He hates the way his cheeks warm. He crosses his arms in front of his chest as he avoids your searching eyes. “Whatever. Anyway, have you made any progress with your doll?” He quickly changes the subject and wills the crushing sadness in his heart to go away. Why would he want to be anything more than a friend to you anyway? Feelings will only get in the way of his plan and-

Wait. Feelings?

He rolls his eyes at himself. There’s no way he has feelings for you. He’s just watching over you so you’ll fall for him. If you catch feelings for him it’ll be easier for him to use you, but in no way would he ever fall for a moron like you.

“Look! I made a doll of myself.” You hold the doll up for him to see, and his breath catches in his throat.

It’s a doll of you from when he saw you way back then. When he was still Scaramouche, a lifeless harbinger who was only a mere tool for the Doctor to use as he saw fit. …It’s a doll of who you were before you left the cold of Snezhnaya for the song and cheer of  Mondstadt. 

“I…” For once he’s at a loss for words. He gingerly takes the doll from your hand. He removes his own doll off his person and holds your doll next to his for comparison. The stitching on yours is much clumsier than his, yet it holds a certain charm to it that embodies the real person.

“You like it? I actually made it hoping we can trade dolls. I know yours holds a very special meaning for you, so if you don’t want to trade we don’t have to, but I just thought it’d be something special for us to hold on to each other’s dolls. ..only if you want to…” He’s amused by your expression; you’re blatantly staring at him with your face colored in surprise as he places your doll where his once was.

“Okay. Just take it.” He curtly instructs you to take his doll as he holds it out for you. An indescribable warmth blossoms in his chest as you gratefully take the doll from him. You admire his handiwork as you inspect the doll from head to toe before storing it on your person.

“Thank you. This means a lot to me, as I’m sure it does to you.” Your sincerity shows in the way you gingerly intertwine your hands with his, and the way your smile lights up not only your eyes, but your beautiful soul as well.

He’s silent, but his gentle squeeze against your hand conveys all the words that are caught in his throat. Why do his lashes feel wet?

What is this?

He sniffles, and when your eyes widen in surprise he quickly looks down at your intertwined hands in lieu of keeping eye contact with you.

“Wanderer!? Are you o-“ His sharp yet meaningful words cut you off. “Just keep holding my hand and stay by my side. ..Don’t…leave me again. Promise.” He whispers.

Oh, he hates that word. Promise. Promises are meant to be broken. It’s stupid to make promises since human thoughts and feelings are always subject to change. Mortality is constantly looming on the horizon for many, so a promise with someone like him is as good as meaningless.

If that’s truly the case, then why does he know it’s an undeniable fact, later to be written in history books, when you reply “I promise.” Why does he feel all of his invisible defenses crumble to the ground when those words reach his ears? Why does he smile when he hears those words?

All he can do is swallow his sorrow and hold back the tears that threaten to fall from his lashes. Hearing those words simultaneously healed him from the heavy burden of his misgivings and did nothing at all.

He chuckles to himself as a single word slips past his lips.

“Good.”

“Scaramouche, Scaramouche will you do the fandango?” He groans and pinches the bridge of his nose. “This joke isn’t even relevant anymore, my name and appearance has changed.” He acknowledges the little flip his heart does when your eyes glimmer with clear mischievous intent.

“Alas, can’t a girl reminisce on the good old days? You look lovely in purple, but I have to admit, blue is your color.” His ears burn as you begin to openly admire his appearance, paying extra attention to his hands and shoulders for some unfathomable reason.

“くそくらえ！”  He yelled an insult at you, yet you eagerly glance at his face with shimmering eyes.

He blatantly admires the stars he sees in your eyes as you pathetically beg him to say something else in his native tongue.

How insufferable. 

“ふざけるな”  He almost chuckles when you clearly get excited by the insults he’s spewing at you. He fidgets in place once he realizes he likes where this is going, but he’d rather bow before the shogun before he ever told you that (which will never, over a thousand millenia, ever happen).

“It’s almost as if you’re trying to please me with your eager responses. Haha! You’re utterly pathetic.”

He jumps when you don’t deny his claims and move closer to him, invading his personal space as you innocently touch his arm. “I don’t care what you’re saying. I just love how your voice sounds slightly different when speaking in your native tongue. It’s very attractive.” Your kind and authentic words only serve to fluster him.

“黙れ” He spits the words like venom, but it only serves to encourage you. A part of him knows you’re smarter than you let on, so he has a nagging feeling you know what he’s saying but he decides to ignore it.

If you really did know what he was saying, you would’ve slapped him by now.

Since you’re happy no matter what he says, and you clearly don’t understand a word coming out of his mouth…

He blushes and tugs down his hat to hide his face as he mulls over the idea in his head. 

Eh, What the hell. 

He can only fool himself for so long, and this is good practice until he can work up the courage to tell you these ardent words in a language you can understand.

“心の底から愛してる。” The words quietly enter the air. He waits with bated breath for a moment, praying hoping you don’t catch on to the true meaning of his words. You owlishly blink at him, and after an adorable giggle you ask him to say just one more thing.

He thinks for a moment. You could be pulling his leg right now. 

…but he can see the sincerity in your eyes.

The next confession to slip past his lips conveys such veracity and ardor that it shocks him to his core.

“生きてることより愛してる。” His own words steal his breath away. For someone like him to say these words is no small feat. His origins are deeply rooted in feelings resulting from life and death, estrangement, love, and abandonment. You have to be someone beyond special for him to develop feelings for you, let alone attempt to voice them out loud.

He groans and removes his hat. It’s suddenly too hot. He runs a trembling hand through his hair as he asks “Are you happy now? I’ll see you later.” He attempts to brush past you to sort out his feelings, but your soft hand on grasping his stops him.

He turns, and he’s met with the most ethereal view his eyes have ever been blessed to gaze upon. 

Your smile, oh your smile, it makes his heart leap in his throat. He feels like he’s soaring through Tevyat’s skies with his windglider as he stares into your eyes. His body unconsciously draws closer to you and his eyes refuse to leave yours.

You giggle as you draw him closer and closer to you, until he’s so close that your legs become entangled and his lips are mere millimeters from yours.

You only have one thing to say before you take his heart and hold it in your delicate hands for the rest of eternity.

“愛してる！“ Your words shock him, and you laugh at his dumbstruck expression. “My father is from Inazuma you know.” Is all you say as an explanation.

He should be mad, he really should. Embarrassed even. Yet a foreign feeling is the only thing that swells and consumes every molecule and atom of his being. It blocks everything else out except for the two of you, and nothing else matters to him more in this upside down world than you do.

Ah. 

So this is love.

He has an epiphany, and surely it’s written all over his face. You give him a reassuring squeeze of his hand, accompanied by that fond smile he’s come to adore, before you close the distance he so desperately wanted to close ages ago.

Your love for each other is sealed with a kiss.

Moments after you two pull apart, which was solely for your sake since humans need oxygen, you flash him a cheeky smile. That’s when a sudden realization hits him. It hits him like the explosion of spiciness that burns your mouth after biting into a raw Jueyun chili. 

He wasn’t the one playing mind games.

It was you all along, and he’ll gladly play them with you again.

His beating heart lurches with bliss when you pull him back in again, and with a content sigh he finally relaxes his body against yours.

This is where he belongs.

rambling about my genshin ocs below UGH I NEED TO DRAW THEM SOON

mikhail - 5* hydro claymore (snezhnaya)

my first real genshin oc lol. i was stuck on what his kit would be for a long time (yes im That kind of genshin oc maker) but since fontaine introduced hp manipulation as a mechanic i think that fits him nicely! the earliest skill i had set for him was a passive actually. like whenever his elemental skill is active, overworld enemy drops within his aoe are automatically collected. he's edgy and shit like unironically Ow The Edge i love him.

nafisa - 5* geo catalyst (sumeru)

tbh her kit is inspired by that part in scara's kit where he gets buffs from elements that react w anemo. but for her it's like. when she collects crystallize shards she receives specific elemental buffs. also i imagine her making geo fists that fight alongside her bc melee catalysts are fun!!! she's a mercenary that gained a vision when she nearly sacrificed herself to go out of her way to protect a customer. i'm toying with the idea of her being blind (toph moment) but i'm not sure if i want to try to factor that into gameplay or not.

antoine - 4* geo catalyst (fontaine)

i wanted a sort of. bennett type but in a different element. also i want more geo catalysts. his thing is he buffs damage overall. the original idea is just pure dmg buff that follows u around based off his def because i want him to be more broken (like the early 4*) but idk... if we're being realistic we can nerf him either by limiting him with an aoe or a mid high burst cost (not faruzan level though please god. maybe like 160% er). he's supposed to be someone you just stack def (and maybe some er) on and go. he's kind off the sickly rich victorian boy trope bc i think that trope is hilarious. he has a meka butler named pascal and i'm considering him having a prosthetic leg.

and yes i know mikhail and antoine are already npc names idgaf. JSHGJKSDHJGKLSDJGKL

Do you have any ideas how'd he'd react if someone goes out of their way to look for reader after they disappeared?

Especially if they mightve been a love interest at some point or the person clearly has feelings for them 👀

A friend of mine actually came up with the idea for naga scara!! Together, we fleshed out the plot. It wasn't originally a fic, though, it was just a rp that got me brainrotting afterwards. I couldn't stop thinking about the whole concept until I finished writing Hidden in the Sands. The fic literally wouldn't leave me alone unless I was working on it LMAO

I'm going to take this as an excuse to talk a bit about the behind the scenes here (you have NO idea how much I've wanted to infodump about this fic)–originally, the reader was actually my friend's interpretation of Lumine and Sanad was originally my Alhaitham. I also played the part of Kuni himself. It was a bit awkward, actually, because Alhaitham and Kuni had to talk to each other a little bit and it felt like I was talking to myself.

I've changed the personalities of the reader and Sanad greatly, as you might have already guessed, since Sanad behaves nothing like Alhaitham; Sanad's more like one of those "prime examples" that Alhaitham talks about when he says, "Book learning alone is not enough to cultivate intelligence." Sanad is, intentionally, a very flawed but still reasonably likeable character. I want to talk about him too. Oh boy, looking back on this I sure did talk a lot about an OC I don't think anyone genuinely cares about.

I wanted to make him come off as normal, like an actual human person. He really is just a regular dude, he's just been kinda brainwashed by the Akademiya, as shown by the lines, "The Akademiya has declared them to be just baseless nonsense, so of course I don't think they actually exist." and "Desert dwellers tend to be... fearless." He's absorbed many commonly held beliefs (and biases) in the Akademiya, a textbook example of someone who's been taught what to think rather than how to think. I wanted him to be realistic. However, he's still funny, charming, and overall good-willed, even if he's spineless and very easily led.

I've greatly changed the fic from the original rp, and only the base premise (yandere!naga!scara and the whole "commissioned to find the culprit for some strange murders in the Hadramaveth") remains the same. It went through several versions at first. In fact, before I came up with Sanad, I was going to have Cyno replace Alhaitham! But ultimately, I realized Cyno was actually competent and I might have had to write a proper fight scene, which I did not want to do. You can still see a remnant of the first draft I chose to leave in (from when Cyno was the disposable companion) in the bad joke Sanad tells at the beginning of the story.

Using Sanad also had other benefits that I feel helped pull the fic together!! His cowardly nature gave reader a chance to endear themselves to Kunikuzushi, for refusing to abandon Sanad even after he (frankly, understandably) ran away. Even this early on, I had decided that whatever backstory naga Kuni might have had, it absolutely had to revolve around betrayal since canon Kuni's backstory is so deeply tied to it.

It's a really minor pet peeve of mine, and it doesn't bother me too much, but I usually don't really like it when the yandere starts to fixate on the object of their obsession for no reason than, like, "love at first sight" or "they simply caught my eye for some vague reason I cannot put into words." It's not bad, per se, and it's not even a solid rule of mine! I can think of several fics I love that don't give a solid reason, though the characters in those have such a dynamic that you still understand why one became so interested in the other to begin with... (I'm making this more complicated than it is, I think, but I'm beginning to think it's just I just don't care for it when the MC has the depth of a piece of paper.) Anyway, I'm getting derailed again, but I chose to give Kuni a reason to empathize with the reader in the form of Sanad and his "betrayal" because of this preference of mine.

However, and I think I've touched on this a bit in a previous post, this wasn't the only reason Kuni decided to spare them. In fact, even after he decided to leave you for last, he still thought he was going to come back to kill you. What really interested him was your insistence on saving Sanad even after what Kuni perceived as a betrayal. Why would you try to help someone who didn't even make an attempt to help you? It doesn't make sense. You're too soft, it's endearing.

Whether or not Sanad's actions are justified is debatable, though I personally understand them. He's never fought in his whole life. If you, the experienced monster-fighting adventurer couldn't do it, how could he? He doesn't even have a sword. It's certainly cowardly and rude to say the least, but given the circumstances, I think it's the choice most people would make in that situation. Of course, it's absolutely something Kunikuzushi could have (and did) twist into something completely different. I think I made it pretty obvious, but contrary to what Kuni said, Sanad had no such malicious thoughts when he left you there. Kuni is extremely jaded; his perception of the world has been mostly shaped by the betrayals he's experienced, and he's no different in this AU. As I said before, Sanad's not a terrible person, just terribly average. If he had survived, he absolutely would have had survivors' guilt.

Anyway!!! I'm not sorry about the infodump, thank you for giving me the slightest reason to tell you all about it. Here's what you actually asked for.

Kuni views most people as inconsequential, little more than helpless ants. He doesn't care about them in the slightest. If anything, they irritate him. So when someone shows up–an old friend, a crush, anyone–his first thought is to get rid of them if they venture too far in, and especially if they see him. Even if he doesn't know that they know you. If he lets them go, more will come. If he finds out they're looking for you, specifically... well, it doesn't really change his plans. He's going to kill them no matter what.

It does motivate him though, to be a bit crueler, to make it last a bit longer. What they are to you doesn't change the outcome, but it might sour his mood a bit more if they were anything more than friends or family. It's not likely that he'll leave them be long enough to find this out, though. Logically speaking, they're probably not going to tell a monster like him all about the friend/family/crush they're looking for in this desert, especially not when he's clearly unfriendly.

It's not totally impossible, though. This hypothetical person would have heard all about the strange attacks (as mentioned in the fic), so seeing a large half-snake person could make them realize that Kuni was most likely the cause for your disappearance (even though they'd assume it was murder and not kidnapping). Even so, I doubt they'd have a little chat over tea about who all Kuni has murdered recently.

Anyway, I digress. Assuming he figures it out somehow, whether or not he tells you about them depends on his mood and your behavior. Unfortunately for you, dealing with people irritates him. Especially when they're specifically looking to take what's his from him.

He'll come back covered in blood either way, but if he's in a bad mood, or you haven't been on your best behavior, he'll tell you all about what they looked like. He makes sure to mention that they were looking for you, and describe in detail everything he did to them.

if you're wondering why i went inactive and then deleted, my mental health kind of (really) tanked... and i ended up deleting my blog in a fit.

it's getting better bit by bit though! and i've been wanting to get back into writing (and talking abt my unhinged/yan ideas i can't really talk to anyone else abt), so. here i am! for now, at least

as for my previously posted writing, there's some good news and some bad news: the bad news is that everything i wrote directly into tumblr (99% of snippets, a lot of ask answers, most exact content warnings, etc) is gone. the slightly less bad news is that iirc there were very very few posts of mine that weren't reblogged by anyone at all, so they're probably still out there? feel free to send them my way if you find any and i'll rb them. @/midnight-remembrance also has reblogged a couple of them! there's a couple snippets i have saved in some places, so i might repost those on my own as i find them, but there's very few of those. the good news is that anything longer (proper writing — oneshots, hcs, yan alphabet responses and so on, prompt responses, etc) is safely backed up where i originally wrote it! some of it is also on my ao3, which is the same username. feel free to send me asks about any you'd like to see again and i'll repost them! i might not post them if i feel too embarrassed about/wish i hadn't posted them, and i might rewrite/heavily edit some of them, but i think there's only a handful that fall into the former category and none of them were particularly popular. either way, no harm in asking!

as for some other updates: i'm a little divided on whether i want to keep posting explicit nsfw or not so we'll see. i might just keep it out of main tags. idk yet. regardless of what decision i make, this blog is still strictly 18+ and that will not be changing. since we can reply from sideblogs now, this is a sideblog and not my main now. why? sometimes i prefer to check up on a blog frequently instead of following them for a couple of reasons, but this felt very awkward when they were following me. so this being a sideblog relieves a bit of that stress. if this makes it sound like i have severe brain worms, it's because i do. to that effect though, if we interact every so often feel free to consider us mutuals regardless of whether or not i'm actually following you =w=b tbh i.............. am not really into genshin anymore. i might post about it here and there but i just Do Not (really) Care about it anymore. scara aside to some degree i also have no clue what's going on post inazuma lol whatever projects or commitments to writing or etc i had made beforehand. i forgot all of them so just pretend that never happened ok? ok i'll also probably be posting more sparsely, but we'll see! and (this is obviously the most important bit) i have no clue where i put the mika edit so we're back to my og classic pfp. the header scales terribly and is temporary, please ignore that too

all that aside, as a treat for anyone who sees this in time,

*roughly 6/22 done, but fairly quick to write. roughly one paragraph per character (sneak peek line: "it's not too hard to be discreet with his unique magic when someone really deserves to fall face down a flight of stairs. or three. oopsie. odd they don't remember it, huh? well, he had nothing to do with that.") **more realistic isn't quite the right word(s)... probably won't post this one to the main tags regardless. won't be doing all of the characters (only important/relevant ones) and won't be writing more about/expanding on, so this one is just like. a one off experiment sort of thing. overall less violent than most takes on the au + leans a bit (or lot, depending on how you look at it) more on the religious aspect of self aware aus. i wrote a couple paragraphs a while ago, then rewrote them, but i'll only finish/post them if there's interest for it (sneak peek line: "aether has deluded himself and cast You aside entirely on his own—and when You finally grace them with Your real presence, zhongli is certain aether will be the first to fall from Your grace.")

EXPERIENCE/HOW LONG (MONTHS / YEARS?):  oh  god.  off  the  top  of  my  head,  i  don’t  think  i’d  be  able  to  give  a  precise  number.  i  know  my  first  experience  with  roleplaying  in  general  was  when  i  was  super  young  —  probably  somewhere  in  the  10  -  12  range.  (  i  was  allowed  free  rein  on  the  internet;  my  parents  just  told  me  not  to  give  out  personal  information  and  set  me  loose.  horrifying.  )  i  found  a  random  pokemon  message  board  by  complete  chance,  and  they  had  a  section  for  roleplay.  i  wrote  a  pikachu  who  was  a  blatant  self-insert.  i  think  i  had  a  villain  arc?  wild. i’ve  been  writing  on  tumblr  since  around  2012,  though!

PLATFORMS YOU’VE USED: discord  and  tumblr!  and  the  aforementioned  childhood  message  board  experience.  i  generally  prefer  tumblr,  if  only  because  i  like  the  aesthetic  and  it’s  nice  having  everything  i’ve  written  somewhere  i  can  easily  look  back  on  it.  i  have  pages  of  headcanons  just  scattered  across  half  a  dozen  discord  servers.  i’m  still  trying  to  recover  them  all.

BEST EXPERIENCE:  i  have  a  handful  of  rp  servers  on  discord  with  some  close  friends  of  mine,  and  they’re  always  a  blast.  (  i  write  scaramouche  there,  too!  )

RP PET PEEVES/DEALBREAKERS: basically  the  general  dni  criteria  we’re  all  probably  familiar  with  at  this  point.  also,  please  trim  your  posts  and  wait  a  little  bit  before  asking  about  replies.  don’t  try  to  control  my  muse,  don’t  try  to  push  me  to  make  him  act  a  certain  way.  i  think  i’m  pretty  easygoing  otherwise.

FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT: i  generally  don’t  write  smut,  but  i  absolutely  love  fluff  and  angst  equally.  i  think  the  best  rp  experiences  are  when  you  have  an  even  amount  of  both  to  balance  each  other  out.

PLOTS OR MEMES: honestly,  i’m  perfectly  fine  with  either!

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: i  like  a  little  mix  of  both!  i  feel  like  having  too  many  long  replies  to  get  to  can  feel  a  bit  daunting,  but  sometimes  i  just  get  really  into  what  i’m  writing  and  want  to  pop  off  with  a  novel.

BEST TIME TO WRITE: i  think  my  favorite  time  to  write  is  late  at  night?  it’s  easier  for  me  to  focus  when  it’s  quiet;  i  can  grab  some  tea  or  coffee  (  anything  with  caffeine  )  and  see  what  i  come  up  with.

oh, ah we sharing wanderer names? i’ve got a couple. so i personally named my wanderer Indigo, since I name my characters after colors (my traveler, for instance, is named after a shade of blue). Indigo is actually my favorite color so I decided my wanderer deserved my favorite color as his name - and it fit his color scheme. my lovely girlfriend, however, named her wanderer Achilles, after the song Achilles Come Down by Gang of Youths. she thought it was fitting after crying over his backstory. i was delighted by the name, since i loved greek myths.

Hii!! I just wanted to share about an oc I have for which I'm currently obsessed about if it's no problem at all <3

Their name is Ruby and they're just a silly little living doll which Scaramouche happened to stumble upon. And while he's like "I can't get attached", they're just like "yay now I have a friend" and decided to follow him around like a little duck through the snowy forests of Snezhnaya.

So as he actually got attached, Ruby decided to teach him about kindness once again and that he could trust people once again. So whenever Scara has to leave them to go on missions, he buys candy from the city he's at to make up for his absence and they eat it under the starry sky while he tells them about what he did (though he absolutely doesn't tell them about the dirty work)

It's so good to create ocs after having spent so much time without doing so. I was just thinking about stuff and then I suddenly realized I hadn't created any oc in like... 2-3 years?????
