[guy who gets overly attached to everything voice] idk why i get overly attached to everything haha
#moving out of my dorm in a few days and i already miss it#i’m ready for the school year to be over and to go home but at the same time i’m not#something about the inherent impermanence of dorm rooms is getting to me idk….#on one hand i really like thinking about all the people who’ve lived here before me (whoever they are) because it’s fun and interesting#but on the other i’m so attached to this room/building/area/view out the window/etc just by virtue of living here for a few months#i’ve been slowly packing up my stuff so i won’t have to pack everything on move-out day and it’s making me so sad#and has also gotten me thinking about how places can be simultaneously permanent and not permanent#like there’s a sticker that says ‘stay wild’ on the closet door that must’ve been put there by a past resident#and even though they only lived here for a few months too that sticker is still there#idk if it was just last year or not but still#there’s a scuffed/scratched area on the banister of the stairs at home and even though whoever made it is gone the mark is still there#when i was a kid i wrote my name really tiny in pen on a baseboard in my room and it’ll probably still be there whenever i move out#even after you leave a place forever it still lives on in your memory. etc#idk places just make me emotional! i think i will pack up my posters last :)#my words#personal
