also, idk if april's fools day was a thing back then, or if the french would've been celebrating but hey, a man turned into a beast so I will ask, do they celebrate april fool's day, and prank each other?

okay so, not only did adam and belle definitely know about april fool’s day, but one strong theory of the day’s origin is actually IN FRANCE!

there’s mystery as to where it came from, spanning all over europe from the 14th to the 16th century, but one prominent theory is that it had its beginnings in france, in the 1582. it started when the council of trent called for everyone to switch from the julian calendar to the gregorian calendar. in the julian calendar, you start the year at the spring equinox, which i guess is april 1st. the gregorian is what we use, starting the year on january 1st. but since news spread a lot slower, there were many communities that were still using the julian calendar for years and years. so it became a joke that they were “april fools,” and eventually the day became a silly day for foolishness and pranks. one noted prank was having a paper fish placed on your back and being referred to as a poisson d’avril (april fish) - which was basically calling someone gullible. what a roast.

now as for my beloveds! i’ve always headcanoned that belle pranks adam sometimes… just because his grumpy face is so cute 🥺🥺🥺 adam definitely hates pranks, and DEFINITELY hates april fool’s day. i don’t think belle ever does any mean pranks, because that’s just not her style, but she’d definitely do very obnoxious ones, and absolutely get the servants involved. things like sending adam on a wild goose chase when he’s looking for her. every servant he asks gives him a different location that she ISN’T. causing him to wander in circles all over the castle, tragically looking for his wife😭 she also does things like mixing up the order of his shoes on the shelf on his dressing room, and hiding his ink jars so he can’t finish any of his work 😮‍💨 just little annoying things to drive him crazy 🥰🤗

i think belle gets it from her father. i imagine when she was growing up, april fool’s day was always a very silly day for them lmao.

but honestly i think the real trouble starts when adam & belle’s SON gets older. i think he’s a big prankster and definitely takes this day too far sometimes. like he’d make everyone think a horse somehow escaped from the stables, when really he just hid her safely somewhere else. if he happened to be away (at school or what have you) he’d write ridiculous letters, saying he’s eloped with a spanish princess who visited the city! congratulate us!! (belle immediately knows it’s a prank because she sees the date on the letter and she KNOWS her son just wouldn’t do that. but adam definitely has a moment where his brain has a 404 Processing Error.)

maurice also definitely did stupid shit like bringing chickens into the west wing, and one year he literally brought a COW into the BALLROOM. adam nearly had a heart attack from this one. he was so upset he made maurice clean the entire ballroom floor BY HIMSELF. “go ask the maids where the cleaning supplies are, you’ve got til the end of the day.” LMAO. teenage maurice is a crazy kid. he keeps those parents of his on their toes! obsessed with him frankly.

he was also a very pranky kid toward his sisters. mainly renée, since she always had such big, annoyed reactions to his shenanigans. juliette was either like :/ or :( and that just made him feel bad lol. but reecy loooooves to push renée’s buttons, and i’m sure she dreads him on april fool’s day every year😮‍💨

Blog Update - 16/06/2024

Hello all! I've been receiving some asks and questions in the request form wondering where I've been this past month. Rest assured, I've been fine. With Athletic Doctor back in May, I reached the one-year anniversary of doing this daily-rip-posting thing, and today, June 16th, marks the one-year anniversary of this blog's existence as a whole with Snowball Park - Super Mario 3D World. Because yeah, for those first 30 posts I didn't do this as part of a blog, but as a daily activity for my own personal Tumblr account on @melblur. If you compare the word counts on those first few posts (the "First 30 Archive") to the posts made later in the blog's run, you'll likely be able to see how my focus in writing evolved, going from mere shoutouts and recommendations to full-on retrospectives and analysis. That was a large part of why I chose the blog's initial name as "Tumblr's SiIvaGunner Historian", there's something about regaling these oft-forgotten events in the channel's history that just invigorates me, a passion that kept me doing this for a year straight. What began as nothing but a laid-back writing exercise to keep my mind sharp became something that, on some days for rips that I was truly passionate about, drew my FULL undivided attention for an entire day's worth.

You saw the TL;DR, and you can probably tell where this is going. By the last few posts, I was noticing myself that this really isn't sustainable to keep doing at a daily rate. I've worn that pace as a badge of honor for so long on here: In my mind, it just made so much sense for a blog celebrating SiIvaGunner, a channel partially defined by its insane rate of uploads, to also do things at such a high pace, with so many references to past posts interconnecting them all just like the many in-jokes on SiIvaGunner itself. But this blog isn't a network of a hundred team members and a thousand contributors - aside from the requests on what to write and footnotes left by a rip's creator, everything made on this blog has done solely by its writer, me, Mel. I loved it - but I do think its about time I slow things down.

I was as torn on this choice as you likely are seeing it - after all, it's called "TODAYS siivagunner" for a reason, right? I was toying around with how to resolve this as far back as in March of this year, tossing around ideas and concepts as to rework the blog to be more feasible whilst still preserving its spirit. The April Fools prank, the legendary Raftmageddon of Raft Ride ~ The Story So Far, was sort of an offshoot of this, a day where posts were more rapid-fire than ever yet were all contained to just five or six sentences each: Short, snappy, concise, and even pretty casual and silly a lot of the time. And that was really fun for the sake of the bit, it again fit with the nature of Raft Ride the same way that my main posts sort of fit with the nature of standard SiIvaGunner uploads, but I realized even then that it wouldn't be a good fit for the blog's main posts - the things that make both you and I most happy as readers and writers respectively are when I get to truly get down to the meat of a rip and explore its contents and history to the fullest.

A month went by quicker than I thought it would, but alas, here we are. A lot can change in not so much time - I'm currently employed, for one, which is yet another reason why daily posts feel far less feasible, but I'm also spending my time expanding my interests, listening to albums, reading books, watching shows, talking to new people...I want this blog to keep going, but I also don't want to use it as an excuse for my own lack of growth as a person. And so, I've landed on a compromise that I hope will satiate all of us. Here's the current plan for the blog going forward:

Rip coverage will be going from daily to weekly, posted every Monday starting tomorrow, June 17th. In return, the goal is to make these posts as well-written and interesting to read as possible.

Requests for these posts will still be taken as normal. I'll of course try to prioritize requests from people who haven't had theirs featured on the blog yet, but keep in mind that it's still up to my judgement if I'll be able to have enough to say on a rip (or know enough about a rip's topic) to warrant writing a post on it!

New, more laid-back kinds of posts for the blog will be featured in the days between rip coverage posts - these will be a lot simpler in nature and made ~2-4 times a week depending on my schedule. Here are some examples of posts I have in mind!

GIFs and image sets from the channel's various visual rips and/or lore videos! Think the Christmas Comeback Crisis, the KFAD Tournaments, the Festival events of Season 4, 5 and 6, legacy content posted on the SiIvaGunner Twitter account, and more!

Character appreciation posts featuring all sorts of characters from the SiIvaGunner lore! Celebrate the figments you love with all twelve other SiIvaGunner fans on Tumblr!

Trivia about the channel, which I'd otherwise sneak into main posts, may get small little posts in of themselves! This can be anything from Did-You-Knows about how in-jokes have been carried on during the channel's life, to easter eggs and references, to fun tidbits about rippers themselves.

Shitposts! Goofs! Stuff I'd otherwise reblog under the #epic flintstones tag, basically.

Miscellaneous text posts related to the channel, such as Guides, summaries, or just whatever various thoughts I have!

All of these will have their own tags dedicated to them, just like #todays siivagunner - what tags they end up being is still up in the air and may change even as the posts are rolling out. Either way, the blog's pinned post will be continually updated with all the relevant tags and info about the blog - keep an eye out on it during next week.

Whew! That's a lot of stuff covered. I hope you're as excited for the second year of this blog as I am! Hopefully the greater variety of posts will help with the longer wait between "main" posts. The goal is, as you can imagine, to keep the blog a fun read for you all and just as much of a fun passtime for me, whilst also easing my own workload enough to make it manageable. I love running this blog more than anything, and I'm hoping this new schedule will give me more energy to make better posts - Maybe I'll even get a chance to interact with all of you even more by discussing more than just per-rip analysis.

...Tangle and Whisper in Sonic Forces: Speed Battle? Wait. They're already in that game, aren't they? You're absolutely right! And they're in Sonic Dash, too! But do you know who isn't in either of those games? Every single other character from IDW Sonic! You might be able to tell where I'm going with this and, if not, I'll explain it now: We're going to be running a mini tournament over the summer and the theme of this one is "Which IDW Exclusive Character would you most like to see added to the Sonic Mobile games?" SEGA Hardlight have been very supportive of IDW in the past, from adding both of our girls here to the game to giving Whisper an alternate outfit to even including them in their April Fools post - with a nod to Whispangle. We don't actually know if any other characters from IDW will ever appear in these games, but it'd be nice to think that they could and that got me curious to see which characters you'd like to see most WHEN IS THIS HAPPENING? No exact time-frame, but soon(ish). My current thinking is that when the finals roll around for @sonicshipbattles that'll free up more of my time, so hopefully then. I'd like to say this month WHO IS INCLUDED? That's where you come in. Presently, I have two ideas about how to do this: Firstly, that we include all 32 characters from the Pause Game Edition Tournament, with two new characters being added to replace Tangle and Whisper. Those characters could be the guy from the 5th Anniversary Issue (who seems to have no name?) and the "new cat guy" (YES I know the spoilers, but I'm trying not to spoil it for anyone who doesn't). But I'm open to suggestions However, a lot of the characters included in that bracket are incredibly minor, to the point that Round One was mostly weeding out the oneshot characters so the main cast could carry on. And I'm worried that it wouldn't be interesting to repeat that. So, I'm considering as an alternate we skip ahead to a 16 character line-up. This would be everyone who made it to Round Two last time, plus Rough and Don, because it'd feel wrong to include Tumble and Nite without them I will put up a week-long poll after this post to see which of these options you all prefer and whichever option wins, we'll go with that EDIT: That poll is here BUT WHAT ABOUT TANGLE AND WHISPER?? They're not included in this one because they already have the prize. They already won! However, I know you all want a specific Tangle vs Whisper poll, so I will give you one soon, even if it isn't the divorce poll :3 AND THE WINNER GETS ADDED TO THE SONIC MOBILE GAMES??? Heck no! I don't have that kind of power! This is absolutely just for fun and has no real stakes whatsoever. Unless idk, the slim chance that someone from SEGA Hardlight sees this tournament and uses it to gauge popularity. But beyond that, nope! We'll just have to believe that Nevin the Scrapnik might make it in one day ;0;

"Damn, he must've been livid," The assistant glanced over at the report. "Do you think he's going to wake up? What do you think we should do now?"

"I don't know for certain," The medic hesitated. "I'd say it's unlikely that he’ll wake up, but it's a miracle he even has signs of life."

As the medic looked over the report, he too contemplated what to do now. The sound of the equipment became the only thing that kept the room from being silent. The both of them tried to think of a solution that wouldn’t disrupt any further plans. Yet, even they knew that wasn’t possible.

"I say we should keep him here until his condition changes."

"But who's going to take his place?" The assistant asked. “We can’t just go on without a commander.”

"I’m not sure about that either, but it's not our place to decide that anyway," The medic shrugged. "I'm sure whoever has the final say will figure it out."

The assistant medic turned his attention back to his unconscious superior. Peepers had been second in command for many years. It was no secret that he dedicated himself to his position. He never needed a replacement, even on his sick days. Well, until now anyway. He had always been the backbone to the whole army. The one that did everything in his power to make sure the empire made it to the top. The assistant knew enough about him and his importance to worry about what would happen next.

"I hope so, but what if he does get replaced? I-I'm sure he's not going to like that—"

"Oh, he'll have to get over it."

"But—"

"Even if he does wake up, he won't be in the proper condition to come back to his job right away,” The medic continued. “It’s also possible he will never be the same after all that.”

As he finished his statement, the doors opened to medics pushing another injured watchdog on a gurney. The lead medic handed over the report to his assistant.

"Watch him and report back to me if anything happens." The medic ordered as he left to attend to the other injured soldiers.

The assistant medic’s hands trembled holding the clipboard as he glanced at Peepers once more.

“Will do.” he gulped.

Six weeks had passed, and nothing much seemed to happen. The medics examined Peepers with a sliver of hope that he would wake up. Even with all the medicine given, even with all the treatment, it became evident to them that he wouldn’t wake up. As far as they knew, that was the end for him. Or was it?

holy shit. that's a lot. i am retroactively impressed with my past self for doing all this, lmao. nice.

third of all! i wanna note that i started several projects this month that i have yet to finish. of course i'm not confining my quantum break posting to one month of the year (impossible) but i will take my time finishing the... uh... three fics and two meta essays i have unfinished, as well as the fansite i am working on. i want these to be GOOD, so i'm not going to rush them. i'm glad this month gave me to juice to finally get these projects started, though!

and lastly... why did i even do this project/event in the first place?

well... good question. i imagine i'm not the only one who has been Going Through It for a while now, and i just... really needed a big project to focus on for a while. and quantum break is like, one of the only things that i never get tired of thinking about, so... are you seeing my logic here?

all that said, i do genuinely want to work on putting more love out into the world. and i love quantum break! i want other people to love it too! (or at least, i want other people to look at my passion for it and be like "i dont go here but you keep doing your funky little thing my man," you know what i mean?)

Nightmare before Christmas remake rumor

We're in autumn and the thirtieth anniversary of Nightmare before Christmas so this is the time of year for rumors and gossip about Nightmare before Christmas and Hocus Pocus (which is also now thirty-years-old). Remember, for years there were rumors of Hocus Pocus 2 "coming soon" before the sequel was finally made, twenty-nine-years-later.

The latest rumor is that Johnny Depp will be playing Jack Skellington in a "Live action" Nightmare before Christmas remake to be directed by Tim Burton. This rumor has appeared on several Halloween groups and pages that I follow. Now, here are the reasons I do not think the rumor is true.

1. Back in the 90s Disney wanted to do a direct-to-video Nightmare before Christmas sequel but i would have been computer generated. Because they would not consent to stop motion, Tim Burton would not allow it. 2. Part of what makes Nightmare before Christmas what it is, IS the stop motion. The stop motion animation in Nightmare before Christmas is a tribute to classic Rankin-Bass holiday specials (mostly Christmas) which were usually done in stop motion animation. 3. The very reason Zero (Jack's ghost dog) has a tiny Jack-o-lantern for a nose (referenced as early as Tim Burton's original Nightmare before Christmas poem) is a homage to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, more specifically Rankin-Bass's stop motion animated Christmas special of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. 4. Yeah, it would probably mostly be CG but do you know how many special effects the movie would need? The main character is a skeleton. It would be a half-CG, half-live-action abomination, and probably with sub par computer animation. You know how cheap Disney is with their remakes. 5. Tim Burton actually hates working with too much CG. Apparently he nearly had a break down while making Alice in Wonderland because of all the green screen he had to work with. He prefers practical effects and Disney is not likely to allow that. 6. Nightmare before Christmas is very personal and precious to Tim Burton. You really think he would let them make a dubious fad live-action remake out of it? 7. Johnny Depp currently has substance abuse problems combined with a soiled reputation from the whole Amber Heard situation. Disney has not been very kind to him lately because of these things. They wouldn't be fast to cast Johnny Depp in anything. Yes, Tim Burton loves to work with Johnny Depp but Disney still has final say. 8. Tim Burton has been pretty busy lately with Beetlejuice 2 and Wednesday the Netflix Addams Family spin-off series. 9. There are no legitimate news sources for the claim that Nightmare before Christmas is getting a live action remake. 10. The first time this rumor circulated was on April 1st. April Fool's Day. This is why I hate fake news stories on April Fool's Day, because months (or even years) later people start spreading the story again as if it's true. 11. Henry Selick knows where the Disney execs live...

So I was sitting here, thinking to myself, wondering how long I’ve been working on this fic [also: I was thinking about this LAST week, I just forgot to type up this post. I feel like that’s just… this whole thing in a nutshell] and I decided to go through my phone to find screencaps and go through my gdocs to find the earliest document that’s associated with this coming fic...

And… I had forgotten that - originally - I was planning on doing a Choose Your Own Adventure-style Otome fic. It’d have each member of Ateez be one of the personality types you see in Otome games, and you’d read through it and click links and choose who you’d end up with in the end. I read a really great CYOA story on Twine a long time ago and I’ve been wanting to do one since then, though I haven’t had an idea that I felt was befitting it.

So I looked up the main Otome personality types and tried to fit each Ateez member to each type and then sort of ran out of ideas/was too busy with work, and so I just put it in a folder marked “fics” which has all fic ideas that I’m kicking around (some come to fruition, some don’t). The document is called “Otome Character Archetypes” and the date on that document is Jun 5, 2021.

Anyway, I recall kind of thinking about the idea for a while after that and then forgetting about it. My Jaehyun fic was still updating, and while I wanted to start a new fic so I had something for when that one was done, I think I might have been also working on some original stuff as well.

At some point I scrapped the Otome idea since I didn’t feel like I grasped the personality types enough to be able to write it well, and created a new doc called  “Ateez smau idea.” It’s creation date is November 7, 2021. (I don’t really use this anymore - the last time I opened it was February of last year lol - because I made a better, more organized “book bible” kind of thing at some point.)

Then I got this comment that sort of blew my mind.

And I was like… YO, what IF there were two couples trying to get each other together, our favorite (or at least my favorite) fic chaos but doubled? 

…

What if it was two fics?

So I started writing notes like, immediately-- AND I DELETED THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT LIKE A FOOL. I KNOW I made posts about it in April and May, but I guess I copy/pasted the text out of the first documents and deleted the remains as I got everything together and made it make sense? Which - I now realize - I need to STOP. DOING. Since I don’t fucking journal about what I’m doing at all, I need to keep the docs themselves to know when I did things 😫😫😫😫😫

I don’t have the original version of the one side of the fic (it’s two fics. I’ll explain when it’s ready to come out. I don’t know why I do these things), but a file called “Notes from first draft” has March 8, 2022 on it. So I had to have written the first draft of it before then; somewhere in between January 19th and March 8th, because those are the dates of luvvvx’s comment and the day I apparently had enough of a first draft to read it and make notes about additions. The first drafts (of each side of the fic) had to have been very bare bones though, because the doc has a lot of smaller points in it that are intrinsic to the plot and that I know I decided on early on in the writing process.

So I started somewhere between: January 19th and March 8th, 2022. 

…And now it’s over a year later since I started the missing doc of the first draft, and I missed BOTH anniversaries of starting the fic (the comment and the first doc).

When I first was like, “When did I start this?” I thought maybe I could make a little post about it and be like, “Congratulations to STILL NOT BEING DONE” and it would be a lark and kind of funny since I’ve been working on this for so long, but I MISSED BOTH OF THEM. I had two and I missed them.

So yeah, idk what this is.

Masterlist

You had stood infront of your bathroom mirror finishing up your makeup for the night. Your hair was already done and you had a nice outfit on, not to fancy and not too comfortable. While listening to a playlist George had made for you, you had put down the brushes you were using. It didnt really matter if you cleaned up your makeup that was littered all over the sink right now, but right now you were feeling good.

Today was your and George's 3rd year anniversary and you couldn't be happier about it. Today you two were going to dinner and doing something else which was supposed to be a surprise for you. It was a night on the town.

George and you met 4 years ago actually. You two started out as acquaintances, the slowly grew into friends and then one day he asked you to join him to dinner. At first you were oblivious to his actions, thinking he was just being a good friend, but turns out the more dates you two went on the more you caught on. He officially asked you to be his girlfriend 3 years ago today.

His friends keep on pressuring George to propose already, they think it's been long enough. The only thing close to marriage is a promise ring. He put the ring on your finger as a promise that one day he would marry you, everytime you doubt that he will propose you turn your attention to the cute ring on your finger.

You had turned off the bedroom lights and sat on your bed finally relaxing after struggling to find a decent enough outfit for tonight. George said that he was going to pick you up around 6:00 and now it is 5:47 so you had some time to spare.

You had found yourself scrolling through tiktok because you had nothing else better to do at this moment. It was a guilty pleasure of yours even though you and george both joked around about hating tiktok.

Time began to tick away so you had checked the clock on your phone which said 5:57 pm. You had grabbed shoes that you set up against your bed, slipped them on and grabbed all of your belongings for the night. You stationed yourself in the living room waiting till George came to the door.

Nervousness always came up before a date, it was the anticipation actually. You were excited and nervous about the date as you always were, but today for you was special. It was three years worth of beautiful love. You remembered the time he first said I love you too, it was just like it was yesterday.

"Hey y/n." George looked towards you. You both were sitting on a plaid, plush blanket with a brown woven basket ontop in between you two. It was just like the movies and that why you cringed because of how cheesy it was when George led you to it.

It was sweet, it was extremely sweet and you loved these dates that George always brung you too. You always felt special when you are sitting next to him.

You responded to George. "Yeah Gogy?" You laughed at the use of his nickname.

"Im trying to be serious right now and you call me Gogy." George smiled and shook his head. "Anyways, you know I love you, right?"

"Of course I do-"

"No I love you. I mean. I'm in love with you." George reached to rest his hand ontop of yours and repeated himself. "I'm in live with you y/n."

You wasted no time answering. "Im in love with you too."

George didnt show up yet, but there was no sweat. He was only 3 minutes late, maybe he ran into traffick. Your stomach was rumbling, but you didnt want to eat yet since you two we're planning to go to dinner. Patience is key, and it wasnt like he wasn't late before.

You started to get worried, it's been 10 minutes and still no sign of your boyfriend. You had gotton up several times to check outside of your door only to be met with no one. Your mind was jumping to conclusions about if he forgot your anniversary, but you shut those thoughts out for the time being.

Okay this is getting out of hand. You brung out our phone and began to text George, you couldn't believe that you had waited this long before texting the man.

Where are you? Ive been waiting for 29 minutes?!

You awaited his text message with your phone faced up on the coffee table infront of you. You didn't want to believe that George woukd forget, or overslept, but that was becoming truth the more minutes passed by with no call or text.

Calling him was useless, because he didn't answer. He didn't hang up on you he just wasn't picking up the phone, like he turned it off. You started to get worried if something happened to him, if he was in a situation where he couldn't call or text you. You wondered if he was safe at home and not out in the middle of the street.

In a flash all your worries subsided when your phone lit up with a notification.

That son of a bitch. Pissed off was an understatement, you were fuming. How could he end up streaming at home when you had constantly reminded him about this day, he knew damn well about this day too. How could he?

You ended up grabbing a jacket and your purse and ended up driving to George's place. It seemed like he was mocking you in a way, he knew you had notifications on for Twitch. You loved to support him and his career, but this was making a fool out of yourself.

Your hand tightly gripped the steering wheel as you tried not to run every red light you cane across. You finally came across George's home, you found a place to park and quickly got out of your car and sped walked your way to George's residence. Finally making up to George's door you knocked harshly on the door probably making more noise than what you intended too. You continuously banged on his door until you got fed up.

Remembering that George had given you a key to his house you dig through your purse to get your set of keys out anr unlock his door. You stomped inside his house and closed the door behind you.

"GEORGE! GEORGE!" You yelled through the house. You were being reckless and annoying, but you didnt care at this point you were fuming and needed to tell George how you feel.

You had made your way to George's recording room where he was talking to his friends on discord. George looked towards you in shock clearly not hearing the sounds you were making throughout his house.

"Y/N?!" George yelled and muted his microphone.

"What the hell are you doing?" You exclaimed back.

"Im streaming thats what Im doing!" George sassed back at you, not paying attention to his screen and the chat.

"Dont get smart with me. End the stream."

"What?! No!"

"You heard me, we need to talk." You crossed your arms across your chest. Your heart was beating too fast for your liking and you tried to calm yourself down, but George's comments were getting to you.

George was about to unmute himself and get back to the game. "No we dont-"

"GEORGE END THE FUCKING STREAM! This is embarrassing! Talk to me cause you have some explaining to do." You snapped at him.

A silence tell upon you two and he glared at you before turning to his stream and closing it out.

"Okay guys! Go watch the other boys streams I need to go now! Bye!" George quickly ended and turned off everything.

He turned around to you still sitting in his chair. "What? What do you want?"

"Do you know what today is?" You asked.

"April 30th." George answered bluntly.

"Thats all you have to say?" You asked in shock. "It's our anniversary dickhead!"

"I fucking know that." George said.

"You do? So why did you start streaming and we had dinner plans?!"

"I told you we were streaming! You weren't listening to me!" George stood up from his chair when he said that.

"When the fuck did you tell me this?!"

"A couple days ago! You didn't listen!"

"But you knew that was our anniversary! And we made dinnerr plans-"

George yelled over you. "A month ago! We made those plans a month ago so excuse me for forgetting!"

"So all these other years you remembered our anniversary and went out of your fucking way to cancel other plans around that date, but today you didnt because why?!" Tears were threatening to fall down you cheeks, but you wouldnt let him see you like that.

"Because I planned this already with the boys! And AGAIN you werent listening to me when I said that-"

"There were several other times that you could've told me too! But you didn't!" You sniffed trying to keep the frustrated tears inside.

"I already planned this and I cant go back on my promise-"

"But you can with me?!" You yelled and George stopped talking. He's just studying your face at this point and you hated this silence.

"Its not important apparently." You said while walking out of the recording room.

"You're being a bitch." He mumbled.

"Excuse me?! That is so disrespectful!" You spun around yelled at him.

"You already made me feel like shit so might as well finish me off." George said in a annoying tone.

"Yeah you should feel like shit! I feel like shit too so-!" You threw your hands up in exasperation and stormed out the room. You had made it to the door before George called out to you again.

"Y/n! Y/n! Please!"

"No! Just..." You paused before opening the door and ushering your way out. "Call me when you get your shit together.

You were currently curled up on your couch eating leftovers that you had in the refrigerator. That had satisfied your hunger for the night because the dinner was canceled that night. Your anger and sadness had subsided and you were only left with an unusual feeling in your heart. Your relationship felt incomplete, this fight felt incomplete. You didnt break up with him, but you were waiting for closure.

The TV was the only light in the room. It illuminated what it wanted to, you didnt care if it was too dark. Usually you would be cuddled up with George at this ungoldy hour, but you weren't and that made you tear up.

Your sadness was still there, your anger towards George turned into pity. You were sad about the actions he took, but somewhere in your heart you could forgive him. You could forgive and move on if he would come to you.

Speaking of, you had a knock on your door. You didn't have the strength to get up, but you did. Shuffling your way to the door you sluggishly opened it to find George standing there with his hands in his hoodie. The person you wanted to see, but at the same time you wanted to slam that door in his face.

"Hey." George spoke and you gave him a small smile, nothing more.

You turned around to find your seat back on the couch where you were comfortable, but also giving him a silent invitation to come inside. You had sat down on the couch not paying attention to George, but you knew he closed the door, took off his shoes by yours, and put his keys on the table by the door like he always did. It was like a routine to him.

George ended up awkwardly standing beside the couch as you ignored him.

"You know, if you didnt open the door I would've used my keys like you did." George tried to spark up a conversation, but you only hummed in response. You were scared that if you spoke, you would cry.

George ended up making his way to the couch sitting beside you and pulling you into his embrace. Your head was on his chest and you began to sob. You missed this it's only been a few hours, but you had felt that in those few hours you had lost everything. You continued to sob into his hoodie as he rubbed your back and shushed you, whispering sweet nothings into the air only for you to hear.

"Im here, and Im sorry. Im so fucking sorry that I did this to you and I only hope that you can forgive me." George said, his voice cracking a little when he said that. You kept crying.

That's what you wanted to hear all along, that's what you needed. You could forgive him in due time, you always will because you love him, you will always love him. You both can always make it right.

5 Fun Facts and 5 Headcanons - Part 8/23: Few Words Needed Edition

Hi all! I really need to start posting here more often now that school is out for the next few months. I've been thinking about turning this blog into a general otome game blog since I've been getting interested in a few different games like Utapri (my biggest current hyperfixation is Obey Me lmao) while slowly losing interest in Utapri oops, would anyone be open to me turning this blog into a more otome-based blog rather than purely focusing on Utapri? I'd still write stuff for Utapri, it just wouldn't be my main focus of the blog.

Anyway, the next part of this series might be posted a little earlier than expected because I happen to share a birthday with the next character.

2. He often finds it difficult to express his feelings by speaking alone and uses music as a way to better convey what he is thinking.

1. Kira doesn't usually try to get revenge on others, but when he does he is brutal. He once went an entire week without saying a word to anybody in HEAVENS just to get revenge on them for leaving him out on planning a photo shoot.

2. When HEAVENS was still a three-person group, Kira was the one who would latch onto Nagi like how Shion does now.

3. He has made too many various pieces of pottery to count for each of his fellow HEAVENS members that he gives to them for every birthday, Christmas, album and song release, and anniversary of the group being together.

4. He's not very caught up on internet memes, but he knows enough to mess with the younger members of HEAVENS (Nagi in particular) by purposely misusing dead memes.

5. One time for April Fool's day, Kira played random songs instead of the one that the boys were supposed to be rehearsing. These songs had a chaotic range, from "Der Flohwalzer" and "Moonlight Sonata" to the Mii Channel theme and of course Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up".

Like Hunter X Hunter, this year also marks the 10-year anniversary of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Madoka was and to this day still is a defining series that was a real game-changer for the magical girl genre, showing just how much danger magical girls face. It's a must-watch if you haven't already, so make a contract with yourself to watch or re-watch this series sometime in 2021.  

    21. How To Keep A Mummy

  How To Keep A Mummy is a heartwarming episodic series to watch when you want to have a feel-good time! Funny number day. Haha... no it’s the 2nd anniversary of Special Strike, that one fnaf movie that’s part of that one Fnaf AU I like by the Fnaf 3 hotdog. So have funni Chief Thanos boi

Given how many times I’ve made reference to this series I guess I'll tell you why I like it so much. This is the thing that single handedly made me start to like Fnaf again. I’ve stated this before, but my Fnaf interest went away for a bit after Sister Location so I wasn’t there around the Pizzeria Simulator or UCN era. But randomly one day YouTube recommended me one of Hottest Dog’s videos, specifically April Fools Special 2, and that made me realize “Oh wait Fnaf’s still a thing?”. As for the Special Series itself, I think now I can safely say that is not only my Fnaf AU but my favourite thing made by the fandom so far.

Yes my favourite thing made by the fandom of the indie horror game series Five Nights at Freddy is a series where the animatronics have comedic personalities and the main villain is Golden Freddy with an infinity gauntlet looking claw hand who’s villain motivation is that he doesn’t find memes funny. I love how despite how weird and stupid this series is, it’s so well done and just very unique. It’s both so funny and kinda sad to me that Fnaf 1 Freddy has more lore importance here than in the series literally named after him.

But here’s the main thing, not only do I find most fnaf AUs boring or all the same since it’s just someone else’s interpretation of the fnaf timeline, back when I was younger, I couldn’t stand whenever someone would go and say “Oh this is so much better than the canon series”, especially in regards to Fnaf. Yeah at that time I thought that Fnaf’s writing was perfect Imao. But now that I’m older that couldn’t be more farther than the truth and I think this series is what opened that for me.

The comedy is not the main selling point for me here. I mean if you think Helpy and Plushtrap talking about breakfast and the bible are the pinnacle of humor then that’s on you. But despite how one note they may be for some I just like how the animatronics actually have personalities for once. Also Shadow Freddy is one of the main characters in the series as well so knowing me that puts this series leagues above every other Fnaf AU.

Honestly I’m always going to consider Special Strike and Special Strike Rebellion canon to fnaf lore. Listen, if In the Flesh is official, than anything can be a part of the Fnaf canon at this point, and I’m gonna consider these two things as the actual Fnaf movies.

Peter was cuddling with Harley on the couch when his phone rang. He just wanted a quiet day with his boyfriend not a disaster day with the Avengers. Harley went to grab Peter’s phone so Peter wouldn’t have to go but Peter answered before he could. 

“Hello?” Peter asked the caller not thinking to check the caller ID.

“Pete, I need your help,” Tony said.

“Today is my day off and I haven’t heard a disaster going on so I’m not coming in,” Peter said.

“Not that kind of help, Kid. I need help with Rhodey,” Tony explained. Peter looked at Harley before putting his phone on speaker so Harley could hear.

“Go on,” Peter said. 

“So I was in the lab and Rhodey came down and said that he wasn’t surprised then left. He hasn’t come back to the tower since and I don’t know why,” Tony said.

“Was it an anniversary?” Peter asked.

“No,” Tony said.

“Well it's not his birthday,” Peter pointed out.

“No, that was two months ago,” Tony said with certainty. Peter knew it was three months ago.

“Tony are you sure nothing happened on April 10th for you and Rhodey?” Peter asked. 

“Well duh that was when Rhodey and I got married,” Tony explained.

“Tony, it’s April 10th,” Harley said.

“Wait you put me on speaker,” Tony said.

“Not the point now, Old Man. You forgot your anniversary with Rhodey,” Harley reminded Tony.

“How do I make it up to him?” Tony asked.

“Well it's still noon and you are Tony Stark so get a dinner reservation and text him telling him you both have dinner plans tonight,” Peter told him. 

“Why didn’t I think about that?” Tony asked them.

“You didn’t even remember your own anniversary,” Harley pointed out to Tony. Tony grumbled before hanging up the phone. Peter and Harley looked at each other.

“I’m going to call Rhodey and see how he is doing,” Peter said.

“Good plan,” Harley said. Peter dialed Rhodey’s phone.

“Something wrong?” Rhodey asked.

“No, we just wanted to check in on you after Tony forgot your anniversary,” Harley said. 

“Did he call you both?” Rhodey asked.

“In his defense, he didn’t know what day it was but he knew what date your anniversary was on,” Peter said. 

“He remembered the date but forgot what day it was on the calendar?” Rhodey said. Rhodey seemed to go quiet.

“He texted me about dinner reservations for tonight. I think I’m going to milk this one for a bit,” Rhodey told the boys.

“Take him for all his money and remember your two kids in the divorce,” Harley said.

“Yes, Morgan and Peter,” Rhodey joked.

“I meant me and Morgan,” Harley said. Peter just rolled his eyes.

“Have a good dinner and definitely act like you deserve to be treated differently. I would be upset if you weren’t treated properly,” Peter told Rhodey.

“I’ll make sure Tony treats me with the most respect. Pepper is going to watch Morgan for the two of us tonight,” Rhodey said. 

“Bye, Rhodey,” Harley said. “Have fun tonight but not too much fun.” Peter rolled his eyes at his boyfriend.

“Whatever you say, Keener,” Rhodey said. “Keep your boyfriend in check, Pete.”

“I will,” Peter said as Harley scoffed at that comment. After Rhodey hung up, Harley stole Peter’s phone from him. “Hey.”

“Nope, no more phones until tomorrow. Tony and Rhodey are busy tonight and we are off. If they need us they can call me instead,” Harley told Peter. Peter muttered something but finally agreed with his boyfriend. One night off from being a superhero wouldn’t kill him at all. Now if it was a month he would be arguing. Harley pulled him close as they cuddled while watching Treasure Planet.

Peter woke up to a phone call the next morning. He could hear Harley in the kitchen making them breakfast. He decided to let the phone go to voicemail as he flipped on his side to try and go back to sleep but it was hard without Harley next to him. His phone rang again and Peter grumbled as he picked up his phone. 

“Hello?” Peter asked, irritated.

“Morning to you too,” Tony said in a chipper voice.

“You know it's eight am right?” Peter pointed out to Tony.

“Well it is but also it is a good morning and I just made Rhodey breakfast and he isn’t mocking me because he said you talked to him about what happened and he said it wasn’t something I would do,” Tony said. 

“Yes, I get that,” Peter said, not awake enough for this conversation right now. 

“I wanted to…” Tony seemed to think. “How about you come over today and we will build you a new suit?”

“Are you trying to bribe me when you should be focused on making up to your husband about last night?” Peter asked.

“No, I just was thinking about how I could make it up to you,” Tony said.

“Let me and Harley have the day off and pay for us to go to a nice place for dinner and I’ll call it even,” Peter said looking at their dresser where the ring was hidden.

“You sure that is all it will take?” Tony asked.

“Let’s just say it would help me out a great deal with something big I’ve been planning,” Peter explained. Tony just agreed as Peter looked at the kitchen. Peter knew it would have to be tonight. He had to, it had been months since he bought the ring and he didn’t know if Harley would accidentally find it. Peter got up so he could join his boyfriend for breakfast.

Peter was waiting for the right time as they ate dinner but for some reason, it wasn’t coming up. Peter wanted to call the night a failure when Harley asked Peter what was wrong. Peter knew he had to ask now more than ever. He got up and then moved to one knee and held out the ring. Harley froze surprised. 

“Harley?” Peter asked when it had been quiet for a bit.

“Sorry, I was trying to think about how to tell you yes without acting like a fool,” Harley said before Peter got up and put the ring on Harley’s finger as he smiled. In the background at another table, Tony took a few more pictures as Rhodey smiled at their two kids who were now engaged.

“How long until they get married?” Rhodey asked Tony.

“I give Harley six months to have the wedding planned and set up so maybe a year,” Tony said. “Maybe they will get married on April 10th.”

“I hope not. That is our day,” Rhodey told Tony. Tony laughed as he sent the pictures to Peter who looked at his phone confused before turning to their table and looking embarrassed. Harley looked in their direction and then asked Peter something before Peter handed him the phone. Tony later would get a thank you text from Harley but at that moment the boys decided to leave as Tony and Rhodey watched the newly engaged couple leave.

Happy second anniversary to Lovers of Aether, the single greatest April Fool’s Joke to have ever been conceived! If the last two or three months have been any indication, I am just in love with the game, even if it was meant as an extremely elaborate inside joke— the art is amazing, the dialogue is funny, and the LoA designs of the Rivals are just awesome— though I’m sure you know which is my favorite 🖤❤️🖤 I debated what I should do for its anniversary, and while I did have an original plan on what to post in mind, I’ve decided to keep it under wraps for a later date because I wasn’t sure how I felt showing it off on... well, April Fool’s Day. I didn’t want anyone to think it was fake, so... more on that later! But I couldn’t let the anniversary of such a beloved game of mine go by without having something for it, and after thinking a bit on what I could make for it (On a small timetable, mind you), I was struck with not only an idea, but a realization.

Anyone who’s seen Rivals of Aether knows that the game is built around a 16-Bit/32-Bit art direction, this image being a good example of what I’m talking about. Because of this, Rivals of Aether has two variations of the main logo: one used for promotional artwork, and a sprited version to fit in with the in-game spritework.  I’ve always liked both versions of the logo, the 16/32-Bit one especially, so when I was thinking about what I could make for Lovers of Aether’s second anniversary, I made but a simple revelation: Lovers of Aether lacks a logo in this style.

(Click the image above to see the details clearer— it might take some zooming in, but trust me, both RoA logos are different!) I mean, a lack of a stylized pixel version of Lovers’ logo is kind of a given. Lovers of Aether is way more focused on the artistic genius of @elranno​, and the only instance of sprite art that I can think of is during the Computer Lab segment. And so, a question came to mind: Could I make a stylized pixel version of Lovers’ logo? It was a daunting task. I’ve hardly ever sprited anything that isn’t 8-Bit— I’ve done some 16-Bit spritework, though definitely not to the level of detail of the sprited Rivals of Aether logo. But it seemed like the easiest thing for me to create; after all, I’m no stranger to pixels, and I also wanted to be the first to make one! And surprisingly...

I did it! Where a standard 8-Bit sprite would take me a total of one or two hours of on-and-off work, this took me about three to four consecutive hours of fine-tuning to get it completely perfect. It might not look like it, but about 30% of this involved me getting up close and spriting shading pixel by pixel, and my goal was to have it be near-indistinguishable from the original at a distance— which I can confirm it is! I put a lot of love into this, and hopefully it shows!

Pairing it with Rivals of Aether’s logo in the same style is just so satisfying, too! I am very proud of this, as it isn’t very often I attempt spriting something at this level of detail, and I hope you all find it to be quite a lovely piece of sprite art!

“What the fuck. Who’s there?”

These were the first words Bakugo said when you knocked on his door and with a big smile gave him a small package wrapped around in colorful paper with smol presents and fireworks on the edges.

“What is it?”

“A gift, don’t you see? It’s for you, Katsuki.” You smiled gently. “Can I come in? I want to see your reaction for this.”

Bakugo frowned while letting you into his room in the class-shared dorm.

When you entered the room, you looked around. Although you have been here many times, you still admired the cleanliness in Baku's room. And also you admired this small picture in the frame on his desk, which depicted the two of you.

“What occasion is this gift?” You heard a quiet, slightly uncertain question. “Anniversary of our friendship or something like that shit?”

“No, you fool. It’s April 20. Are you dumb?”

“Huh?”

“Your birthday... idiot. Then, yes. Happy birthday, Katsuki!” You screamed joyfully, clapping your small hands. “Open, open now. Please!”

Bakugo stood shocked, completely unsuspecting of ever getting a present from someone. Not counting his parents, of course. But you weren’t his mom or dad, you’re his... crush. His fucking ideal girl who he crushed from over a year. Getting a present from you was like a marriage proposal with him in his eyes. Of course he was moved, although he tried not to show it (as always in your presence, by the way).

When he ripped colored paper and took out a few chocolates and soft material, he looked at you questioningly. However, you stood quietly, just blushing on your cheeks.

“This is...”

“Scarf! I made it by myself! Expand it.” You told him, so he did it quikly. A green scarf with the black inscription ‘Ground Zero’ looked extremely charming in his eyes. He didn’t even realize that you could do this kind of things...

“It’s really...”

“Yeah. I know, you don’t like shit like this so much, but I thought you would need it... Especially during the winter, when you’ll have to warm up to be stronger during the fight or training...” You muttered quietly, at which Bakugo smiled softly.

“I can get shit like this from you for every birthday, Y/N. Thank you.”

You quickly came up to him and hugged his body smelling of delicate, coconut gel. Katsuki felt his cheeks turn as red as the caption on the green material...

Damn. So, it’s his turn to surprise you and maybe... invite you on a date... haha, just kidding... unless...?

Shoto didn’t like Christmas. Maybe in totally another family this special time would been really nice, but not at the moment when his father was Enji and his mother was still in the hospital on the other side of town. Or if his siblings was be in one place... not as currently, when Toya disappeared few years ago, Fuyumi worked in school from morning to the evening, and Natsuo had his private life and studies. That's the reason why Todoroki was hate Christmas, New Year Eve, and every other holiday like his own birthday or Children's Day.

Anyway. It was supposed to be the first Christmas in U.A High School. He didn’t wait for this day, unlike some people in 1-A Class like Uraraka, Mineta and Kirishima were charged with too much energy. But he? Shoto looked at everything with tired eyes, thinking about the excuse to not spend this time with friends, carols and gingerbreads.

The day before Christmas Eve all people of your class organized a huge supper in the main room. Sato prepared delicious cakes, Mina, Bakugo and you took care of cooking dishes. Kaminari and Sero decorated the room, while Izuku with Shoji’s help had decorated a Christmas tree... and Momo and Tsui was cleaned the living room before. Everything looked really beautiful... Yet Shoto couldn’t enjoy it at all.

Right, admiring your person in an apron and a soft smile on your face was pleasant, but it was the only thing that Shoto noticed. Therefore, at one point he put the newspaper on the table next to the sofa and stood up, directing his person to his own room.

Hardly anyone paid any attention to him, but you (as befits a good, pure soul) wanted to follow him to asked what happened. Bakugo’s voice, however, stopped you from doing this thing.

“Leave this two-shitty-haired-color boy alone, Y/N. If he wants, he’ll come back to us later.”

“Yes, but...” You sighed quietly, unbuttoning your white apron. “Give me a moment, Baku. And look after the pasta, please!”

“She’s stupid or what. The Todo-Lion will kill her.” The pink girl whispered. Bakugo shrugged and went back to cooking.

At the same time, you went to your room for a gift that you made with your own hands. You knew that Shoto didn’t like Christmas and didn’t feel their magic, but even this didn’t stop you from making a warm scarf in a color who’s matches with his hero’s outfit. Anyway... You wanted to give something to your sympathy, that’s all.

You liked Todoroki, so that’s why you wanted to give him something. Holidays were, of course, a good reason to do it.

When you knocked on your friend’s room, your heart sped up slightly. And when Shoto dressed in black turtleneck opened the door for you and raised an eyebrow, because he not expecting anyone, especially your visit. 

“Can I go inside?” You asked, and the heterochromic boy opened the door wider. When you got inside you immediately looked at his face. “I know you don’t like Christmas... And I also know that you don’t like getting anything from someone, but I thought...” You gave him a paper, silver bag. “... this would be super useful for you in this time of the year. I didn’t know what to buy, so ultimately I did something by myself. I hope you like it... If not, it’s okay! I can do something completely different for you... Like gloves or a beanie. “

Shoto opened both his eyes widely and then a bag with a woolen blue scarf inside. 

Shoto.exe has stopped working.

“T-This is... for me?”

“Yes. It’s Christmas, Shoto. Soooo, Merry Christmas!”

“Thank you... But... I have nothing for you, Y/N... I’m sorry...”

“It’s alright. You can hug me or smile to me as a thank you. I think this will be the best present.” You said cheerfully, opening your arms.

Todoroki hugged you tightly to his chest and even gave you a little kiss on the forehead. You stood cuddled up in him for a few minutes, and he thought about confessing love to you at the same time.

Maybe... now after the Christmas dinner?

“Hey, Mina? Ummm... Do you know where’s Kaminari?” You came up to the girl who was sitting on the big sofa in the main room and playing on the PlayStation with Uraraka and Toru.

“No...” She murmured in surprise. “Is something wrong that you’re looking for him?”

“Nothing special. Denki has just been sad since recently, so I just wanted to take him for a walk and to the cafe.”

Ashido opened her mouth to say something, but Eijiro’s hand rested on your shoulder. “He’s behind our dorm. When I bypassed him, he said he was going to rest or something like that.”

“Oh!” You breathed a sigh of relief. “Thanks, Kirishima!” You said quickly, equally quickly you left the four students and heading towards the exit from the dorm. At that moment, Mina noticed the small package in your hands and, of course, she knew what this could mean... Would you finally decided to reveal your feelings to Kaminari? It seemed interesting move in the pink girl’s eyes.

However, you fast found a golden-haired boy with a lightning bolt-shaped streak of black who’s sat on a bench under a large, oak tree. From a distance, you saw his bored expression and the dark circles under his eyes that appeared on his face three days ago.

As a good friend, you wanted to improve Denki’s mood. You weren’t very good at these matters, but thanks to watching a lot of TV series and movies you remembered some friendly habits. One of them was just giving presents and taking the other person to the coffee shop or food bar.

“Denki?” You started quietly because you didn’t want to scare him. When the yellow boy noticed you, he immediately moved his head and brought a smile on his own face.

“Y/N! Hi!” He answered loudly, so you rolled your eyes. “Something happened?”

“I’m the one, who should ask this question.”

The boy looked at you questioningly, but without a word you sat next to him with a gift in your lap. You quickly opened a light, thin paper and pulled out a downy, dark-yellow scarf with small, black lightnings. You slowly wrapped the material around your friend’s neck and smiled softly to him.

“You’ve been in a worse mood for a long time, so I decided to help you a little. I would like you to know that you’ll always find support in me and if something happens, tell me about it, okay?”

“Y/N...” Denki grabbed the edge of a two-colored scarf and ran one finger over it.

“I did it for two days, so you better appreciate it!”

“You made it by yourself?! You shouldn’t...” His cheeks turns red.

“Of course I should. You’re in a bad and nasty humor. If it happens again, I can sew you a socks next time... Now, get up.”

Kaminari looked at you with another question mark painted on his face. “What? Why?”

“We’re going to a cafe. And later we’ll go to a pizzeria or on a burgers! I’m soooo hungry. You too, right?” You turned the other way to hide the cherry pigment on your skin, while he lowered his head, blushing even more.

“Ummm... So, this is a date?” He asked uncertainly when his heart was beating louder and faster than usual. This isn’t surprising... he liked you a lot. Is it possible that a girl like you also liked him in THIS way...?

“Y-Yeah. Why not? So, come. Our date will get away, Denki!”

Kirishima stood with Tetsutetsu and paid no attention to the world around him. No wonder... After all, it was the end of the school year for the all last classes in U.A. High School, and Tetsutetsu was his friend for last three years. He had to say goodbye to him and then to his own class, 3-A.

You stood alone on the other side the corridor and waited for Kirishima to come back to you and the rest of your friends. But yet, you sighed quietly and returned to class, taking a seat on the bench, which in a few minutes, after the last speech of Mr. Aizawa will cease to be yours. It’s too sad.

Next to your leg lay your bag in which there was a small present for Eijiro. Of course, you couldn’t finish school without giving him anything. Or not confessed the feelings that had developed in you since almost the beginning of education.

The last bell was a godsend for you and other 3-A students. Kirishima returned to class and you looked at him with a smol smile. He decided to approach you. Thanks to that, some courage gathered within you. You reached for your bag and then pulled the red-haired boy to the back of the classroom.

“Something happened, Y/N? We’re finishing in a moment. After that, we can talk.” He started uncertainly, but you shook your head.

“Later I may not do it at all...” You started shyly, taking a small gift for Kirishima out of the black bag. “It’s for you. For at the end of education and... everything else.”

“Huh? For me?” He asked in shock, accepting the gift. “Thank you, but... I have nothing for you...”

“I don’t want anything in return, Eiji.” You said it lightly and then took a deep breath. “Anyway... I also wanted to say that I like you. Since... Since for a long time. Before we finished this school and we will go to other universities, I wanted to tell you that. I would regret if I kept it to myself.” You added, looking at the floor in the classroom. Kirishima’s eyes widened.

This can’t be true.

“Y/N?”

“Yes, yes. It’s a little bit embarrassing, but I prefer to confess it to you.”

THIS CAN’T BE TRUE.

You not only gave him a super soft and red scarf, which perfectly matched his costume and the whole idea of ​​‘Red Riot’, but you also admitted that you like him! Eijiro was shocked. SO SHOCKED.

At the sound of Mr. Aizawa’s voice and words, you and Eijiro became as red as the scarf. At the same time, the rest of the class who’s came back, started laugh at two of you.

I'm currently writing a post for r/HobbyDrama (a subreddit where people discuss, well, hobby drama) on the downfall of Magia Record NA. Is there anything you think I should add? I'm writing about the unrest that led up to the announcement (such as #NATempo and constant limited banners), the failure of Gallery Mode, and the devs' refusal to refund money.

I was wondering if anyone write anything there! Oh man. Where to start?

First off, someone did a short summary of the drama here, in one of the weekly scuffles threads. I commented on this don’t judge me pls.

I think some things to mention might be that MagiReco NA had a lot going wrong for it, right off the bat. It was region locked (so folks outside of North America had to use VPNS and/or cracked APKs to play*) and the pacing was very fast, which put a lot of potential players off. If you want an example of the pacing, then even I, an unemployed fuckwad, would have to frantically play to clear shops. The game’s release also had very little in the way of advertisements-- a lot of folks didn’t realize the game had even started until several months had passed. 

(*Edit from a helpful anon: As a Brit, I just want to clarify that we did not need a VPN to open the game/start an account to play on NA! (Nor JP, actually.) We only needed the VPN to download the game from Google Play in the first place. Once we had it, we could ditch the VPN if we so wished.”)

But not all was bad. The Devs did actually listen to the playerbase early on! After lots of whining, the devs implemented a change to daily missions after the Kazumi event, which gave us extra mirrors coins and AP pots to compensate for the faster pace. The Devs also handled The Great Rainbow Orb bug with a lot of class (didn’t ban anyone for taking advantage of it, gave magia stones to good players, ect). In fact, around this time last year we had a special event made for us (Thanksgiving) (which had its own drama lol), Black Friday Sales, and the announcement of NA-exclusive Ashley Taylor. 

That being said, I think November was also the time when things started to go wrong. You can see the list of events here, but we got “FM Kamihama” on November 5th, when folks were expecting it to occur in April (since it was an April Fools event, and since the game would keep events locked to their respectively holidays) . After that, we had another limited banner-- this time it was “Magia Clash!”, which no one expected this early. I mean, a lot of folks weren’t even sure if we’d get it since it was a crossover, but no one thought it’d be out so soon. You can see @leafbladie‘s post here about it as an example. We had jokes about NA Tempo before, but November is when we really started to ramp up on the unpredictability of the tempo, and not just the speed.

Additionally, other strange stuff was afoot. Mayu’s event, “Wait You Got it Wrong” was done out of order and finally started November 25th, which was really late in the schedule compared to when Mayu came out for JP. I wonder if they did that as a breathing period so we could spend more money for the upcoming limited events? 

Then when December started, we had the clusterfuck of Holy Mami and Holy Alina being released back to back. Unfortunately I don’t have screenshots of the google doc, but back then we were all religiously watching it to see what was datamined. Here’s a link to a post I made on it (not great). Something hilarious of note here is that these fools scheduled two back to back limited Christmas banners for December... But they ended on the 24th. On Christmas Day we had a Homura uncap + training event. :’)

Edit: also, I forgot, but Holy Alina was released so early that they had to lock her personal story since it would have spoiled plot stuff. And on this vein, they also had to edit Magia Clash since it had spoiler characters in it. However... I think Magia Clash was way overtuned for us, because it was made for a more mature playerbase with better characters than what we all had.

The back-to-back New Years events were less controversial as we all were kind of expecting it to happen because of Christmas. But I don’t think we expected the absolute flurry of limited banners about to head our way.

Another fuckery thing they did was have all of the limited spinoff banners rerun on February 3rd to February 9th. Why is this important? Well, fucking Madokami was released on February 25th. Sneaky bastards. And speaking of which, no one was expecting her then. Some folks thought she’d be out for Christmas, then it was mostly thought that she’d be out for our first anniversary (a few folks thought she’d be out for Thanksgiving to take advantage of Black Friday sales, but they were less common).

Another note for the weird AF NA tempo would be the time they did the opposite of speed and extended an unlimited event-- for Sayuki Steps Up. It was longer for us than it was for JP! I still don’t know what was up with that. 

Uhh let’s see here... Our One Year Anniversary was missing so much stuff (rerun of previous limited banners, chance to buy missing costumes, costume stories for example) that a lot of people, including myself, believed that they were going to do an Anniversary Part Two on JP’s anniversary date. So much so that we were all confused as fuck when “A New Beginning,” the game’s second anniversary event, came and ended before the JP anniversary even started. When Hanna’s banner came out, there were still folks convinced that we’d get something special for the JP anniversary (also: this is when Iroha’s Birthday is said to occur). But they didn’t do shit. They didn’t acknowledge it in game, and the most we got was a brief shoutout on twitter that was likely automated. 

Going back to “A New Beginning,” we were missing a whole half of the event. There was supposed to be a series of days where you’d get login stories. We never got that-- fans had to translate it and upload it to youtube for us to see it for ourselves. 

There was also the Bonus Ticket Campaign for the 400th anniversary-- lots of missing memoria were added to the game at that time. These memoria are unlimited on JP, but they were limited for us, and the devs didn’t tell us that. We all assumed that they would be unlimited for us too, until they were gone.

Another thing to note would be the revenue. Now, these aren’t entirely accurate I think, but they were of note: I think the worst dip for revenue occurred during the “See You Tomorrow” event, and you can see the reddit discussion for it here.

Regarding money, this game allowed you to still spend magia stones after the shutdown announcement. There was a scheduled time for when they’d no longer let you buy stuff, but it was still tacky and gross.
