Probably because i just watched Agua cadaver, but i think Laura is the jealous one. She was always leaving when Rosemary and her ex where talking, as if she couldn't stand it, and she had suspected him from the beginning (she said she was sorry for doing that but i don't believe her lmao).

I feel like there'd be some angst in their dynamic interpreting it this way: Rosemary is the more independent one, had a couple of boyfriends that didn't last, and is more carefree, follows her instinct; Laura, on the other hand, was married iirc for 27 years, and even if she swore off men, Rosemary knows the right one could come and sweep her off her feet, give her that sense of security she had before, take her away from her. And she could manage it, she's the independent one after all (or so she thinks).

So, however jealous she may feel, she'll never act on it, and silently support Laura because, well, any man who could see what a catch she is, could give her more than she ever could, more than a rusty land rover (even if she'd never abandon her girl to upgrade to the newest model), more than a job that hardly pays the bills, more than dirt and sweat and backache and a donkey dressed as Rudolph for christmas.

Of course she's too oblivious to see that Laura's finally found her place in the world, she's finally found meaning in life with her, and she would like to keep it that way, thank you very much. No matter the uncomfortable seats on the land rover, no matter the physically taxing job, no matter Rosemary's lack of observation skills (she notes this in Up the garden path), and the donkey is her most precious possession, actually.

And every time a man lays his eyes on Rosemary, well, who could blame him? Laura can and does. First it was that vicious murderer in A simple plot, and then her ex in Agua Cadaver, but anyway many men have before been fascinated by her knowledge about plants (as Laura is), her straightforward attitude (as Laura is), her smile (as Laura is)...

And Laura can't stand it. Now that she's finally found someone that likes her the way she is, that she can be her authentic self with, they're trying to take her away. She can't stand to watch it happen, so she leaves first. If she leaves first, no one else can leave her.

And she prays that Rosemary comes after her, she prays with her eyes shut and fists clenched. She begs Rosemary to stay, buys a gift she knows she'll love. She does everything she can to keep her from leaving, except telling her how she feels, of course. Rosemary is the straightforward one, after all. And Rosemary always stays, but for how long will Laura have to do this?

All her life, she thinks. Rosemary could leave at any moment, she's a free spirit. And Laura almost feels bad for clinging on to her like this, but she can't risk it. Her home is with Rosemary, and she hopes she can tell. And she hopes Rosemary's home is with her, too.

just out of curiosity, who do you think’s more likely to have a slight jealous streak? rosemary or laura? bc like… rosemary in ‘the invisible worm’ would suggest her, but i can see laura too.

their supports!! they're such different people but they love each other so much and i thought it was so sweet to see characters complement each other so well 🥺 neither of them really turn out the bad guy in their relationship either which feels too common for ships involving an outgoing & pushy character and a blunt & laid back one; it felt like a breath of fresh air haha. also love friends-to-lovers dynamics in general which they're perfect for

again that they're so different but fit together so well; also for post-canon + aus they have such old-married-couple energy that its rlly fun just to put them in a Context lol

not rlly an unpopular opinion but i feel like they both deserve SO MUCH more love from the fandom; theyre both fantastic characters with a ton of depth + potential 🥺 all in all i wish more female characters were super popular in the fe3h fandom bc there are some GOOD ones aaaa

I honestly cant find the words why zig and maya are perfect for each other but do you mind explaining why they complement each other so well as a couple? despite what's happened, ive always felt like theyre meant to be. They fit so well together, and idk why.

I cannot tell you how much I love this question. They are so many reasons why Zig and Maya have always complimented each other so well and have always seemed destined to be together.

1. They were friends first. For me the thing that always made Zaya click so well and seem so iconic is that before any of the romantic feelings they feel for each other they put their friendship above it. From the moment they met they immediately hit it off and it’s really meaningful that Zig was the first friend that Maya ever made at Degrassi. Though when she met him she did have a little crush, she ultimately decided to disregard her feelings for him and support his relationship with Tori because it made him happy and she valued his friendship. The same goes for when Zig tells her that he has feelings for her but he will wait for her because she isn’t over Cam. From the beginning it was very clear that whether or not they are together romantically, they still want to be together as friends. It’s also significant that seasons 13-14 really developed how strong and important their friendship is to each other before they even admitted that they were ready to become a couple. Also in DNC season 4 what is so great about  their endgame is that is was never explicitly stated that they were back together but it was 100% confirmed that they are close friends again which has always been the center of their relationship. 

2. Slow. Burn. The thing that the Degrassi writers did so so right with Zaya was not putting them together when everyone thought they would be together. This is what makes Zaya a truly epic couple and one of the greatest love stories Degrassi has ever told. No other couple has been built up over the seasons as much as Zig and Maya have. I remember when they had their first scene together in season 11 and I was immediately like “well obviously they are gonna be the New Couple™️” because from the moment they first met the chemistry between them was instant. Thankfully Degrassi made them wait it out and grow and mature before they actually got together. I like to think about what would have happened if Zig and Tori never got back together and he ended up dating Maya back in season 11 and I really think their love story might have ended right there. But unlike iconic couples like Semma and Eclare, Zaya took their time. Instead of jumping into a relationship they build a really strong connection based on how much they care for each other besides their romantic feelings. This made their romantic relationship so much stronger from the get go because they already knew each other so well that they didn’t have to get to know each other as they were dating. When Zaya first got together in season 14, I saw a lot of people complain that they were moving too fast and they were seriously rushed but in a way it makes a lot of sense that they were. They were already extremely close from the moment they began dating so they jumped head first into it. They acknowledge that they did rush into things a bit too fast but unlike other couples that would be in that situation they came out the other side of it stronger. Even in DNC where they break up, the way that they still are really important in each other’s lives prove how much they will keep finding their way back to each other. They were even a slow burn down to the very end of DNC season 4 by how they slowly but surely fell back together again. They didn’t rush into it this time. They just took their time just like they did back in seasons 11-14 and it was beautiful.

3. They are always there for each other. To me a huge reason why they compliment each other so well is because they are there for each other in some way through all of their big struggles in love. For Maya, she supported Zig through his relationship with Tori. She takes him to live in her home so he doesn’t have to be a squatter anymore and so he won’t have to go into a group home. She helps get him out of the gang - multiple times. She dumps Miles because he doesn’t get along with Zig and she will always stand by Zig. She supports him as he works to become a chef as a restaurant. She helps him as he gets involved in the school musical and supports him completely. She even gives him relationship advice with Esme because she wants him to be happy and she never discourages him from helping Esme and figuring out their relationship even though she is crushing on him again. For Zig, he is always there for Maya (it’s one of his defining features). He helps build up her self confidence when she enters the beauty pageant and tries to be there for her with her relationship struggles with Cam - even though he’s a bit misguided since he wants her for himself. He is there for her as she goes off the rails after Cam’s death and he reminds her of who she is and her love of music. He tries to get along with Miles to make her happy - even though he doesn’t to a spectacular job at that. He encourages her to seek help for her anxiety and calms her down after nightmares and her panic attack. He goes to the spa with her when Grace turned her down. He is incredibly supportive of her goals towards a music career. And even after they break up he visibly sees that she is going though something when she is depressed and he tries to cheer her up. Also he chooses to be her partner in art class after she comes back to school because he wants to be there for her and he helps her out after she gets really high on their camping trip. All these little things build up to show how important they are to each other.

The more I think about how Zig and Maya are “meant to be” the more I realize that their relationship is so much more than just that they seem destined to be together in some way. They compliment each other so well because of how much they care about each other. Their relationship goes far beyond the reaches of just romance. For them it has never mattered whether they were in a relationship or not because they were always there for each other because they have always had such a strong friendship first and foremost. But it’s important to note that just because they have seemed “meant to be” from the start that doesn’t mean they didn’t have to work for their relationship. From season 11 to DNC season 4 we have seen Zig and Maya grow together and make each other better. They challenge each other and push each other to be the best version of themselves. They truly make each other better people and that’s a huge reason for me why they compliment each other so well.

how are U always so hopeful brallie will happen I want it to SO badly but ppl are alwys sayin how "theyr siblings now!" and it will never happen and it'd be gross. Hello my Beautiful Brallie Anon, I love answering this question and I can only hope that my words inspire you to hang on a little longer. I know it may seem like, that (outlawsandcircles Chic) sure does have her head up in the clouds, how can she be so optimistic all the time, especially with where the storyline is at. I can assure you I’m not delusional, well not completely, lol. For me it’s always come down to two simple reasons, I’m a writer myself and from a writers point of view Brandon and Callie where two characters written to complement each other. If you look at a lot of tv shows then you can clearly see a pattern of characters, where you look at them and just know those two are going to be together, also known as endgame. We have seen this with couples such as Delena, Stydia, Bellarke, the list goes on, in which two people who weren’t a couple in the beginning and may have seemed complete opposites had something we like to call the spark that made people gravitate toward them. The point is, each character understood the other and they brought something out of one another that made it obvious that they were two pieces of a puzzle and that’s exactly how I view Brandon and Callie, they fit together perfectly not by coincidence, but by design. The second reason I still have so much faith in Brallie is because the writers spent so much time and energy on building them into a romantic relationship in the first place, even when they planned for Callie to be officially part of the Foster family and yet they still had Callie and Brandon sleep together, leaving many people asking why? If they were just going to become siblings in the end, why go to the extent of such intimacy, forever making that sibling bond awkward for both of them in the future? Some people would think the writers must have made a mistake, but I have enough faith in them to know that’s not the case. I believe they wanted Brandon and Callie to cement that romantic bond for the mere reason of always having something to compare it to. This leads me to my second reason and what I believe the majority of the Brallie Fam believes and that my friend is that Brandon and Callie will never see each other as brother and sister. They will always compare what they had that special night to every night with everyone else they are with. I believe a lot of that has to do with what it meant for both of them, not only where they both undeniably in love with each other, but it was also Callie's first time and it was very vulnerable for her, after what she had been through. She trusted Brandon with her heart, soul, and body which to this day she has yet to trust anyone the same with all three. Because, everything good comes in threes except for Brallie that is, my personal reason is simply because they are soulmates and Brandon said it best when he proclaimed that, what they feel happens once in a lifetime. It’s been reiterated in so many ways, from lyrics in a song, to plays about star crossed lovers, to the many times that Callie second guessed her decision when it came to given up her one true love, and of course to that first time Brandon did, so his could have the family she so desperately needed. I agree with not being able to see them with anyone else, I can’t even try, even if I like the person themselves. Admittedly I haven’t liked any of Callie’s or Brandon’s significant others in the past. I really felt like Wyatt and AJ didn’t understand Callie at all even going so far as to ask Brandon for help. A.J. Seemed to put Callie on a pedestal and admire her for her good deeds as Super Callie, but when she started acting like it, he wasn’t interested, also he was way more into the physical aspects of their relationship. Honestly Aaron is the only boyfriend I like, but not as her boyfriend, because I’m always going to be biased toward Brandon, but I love how respectful and interested he is. He is great guy and I’m so worried he is going to get his heart broken. As far a Brandon’s girlfriends go, I never actually liked any of them. Talya for obvious reasons, Lou cared more about herself and wanted him to sale a family heirloom just to go on tour. I don’t think Cort needs an explanation and as far as Grace goes, I think she’s Sweet, but again I’m team Callie. As far as this season goes I think it’s doing a great job of building back up that beautiful friendship that started it all for Brallie and now it’s only a matter of time before they both realize they will always need more from each other. I think next season that’s were we are headed and daddy Robert is back to be apart of his daughters life anyway he can. My hopes are that Callie finally finds out about the blackmail that aided the adoption and stops giving her dad the cold shoulder, because he really does love her. One more thing, we have to remember that this show is based on the values that you can’t help who you love and the heart wants what it wants, so at some point I believe that the moms would rather accept Brandon and Callie’s relationship then give her up as a daughter. I know it may seem strange, but this show is anything if not unconventional. I hope my words showed proof enough for you to keep fighting for them, because I would love to cross that finish line with you on that sweet day we call endgame.
