I definitely picture our Haley in an artistic yet stylish environment, I just know that she would absolutely thrive as a photographer who works for fashion magazines and brands!! Imagine her being so bossy around the set, with the crew AND the commissioners, but everyone put ups with her because her work is that good. She would definitely also keep doing some personal photography as well, that would be more niche and intimate.

By the way my hc is that Haley wears contacts, but I think that with age she would grow more confident in wearing her glasses again!

Finally, as a Haley/Leah lover, I think they would marry and have a very private and tranquil home in Pelican Town (maybe they upgraded Leah's cottage!) where they would work from - Leah creating her art and Haley working on post production after her jobs. Imagine a home in the woods, full of artsy stuff and good lighting like PLEASE adopt me 🥹 On this topic tho I don't see them ever wanting kids! Which is kind of a shame for the sole reason that Haley would look great as a soccer mom and Leah could teach woodwork to her children - but there is only one princess in the family and that happens to be Haley ✨ And they would travel a lot to fuel inspiration!

So normally it’s mostly formatting. Punctuation, capitalization, and paragraph breaks are important to me. I think this is mainly because of my dyslexia. It’s hard as hell to read something on my computer screen or on my phone if it’s all a wall of text.

I will stick through something if the formatting is right 90% of the time just to see where things go.

Other times if a summary is in third person and I get into the fic and it’s all in first or third I’m gonna click off.

Otherwise I’m kinda like you, Omega verse isn’t really my thing.

Also RPF. (I know I sound like a mild hypocrite over here writing Ghost fanfic) I’ve only read a handful that I fully enjoyed (might even have bookmarked) and I can normally tell if I’m going to enjoy the rest of those by the end of the first chapter.

re: the Sambastian old man yaoi fanart you blessed us with, do you have any more headcanons about them? Any backstory? Anything else please Im tweaking lmao

WELL BABES

Obviously this thing was mainly born following my proclivities - that said, the lore would be this:

Sebastian and Sam are childhood friends, everyone in town knows they are attached by the hip, and in my mind they are bound to grow up and old together - maybe they had some struggles and fall outs in their relationships, especially early on (I already wrote it somewhere, but my main headcanon for them is that at some point, as teenagers, they didn't even speak to each other because the feelings where too complicated, but eventually fell back together like puzzle pieces) but yeah, ultimately they are soulmates and are sooo getting married.

Then, since happiness seems to be my ultimate kink, I thought about them finding success in their work life which is one of the things that SDV is actually lacking for the marriage candidates also because with each other's support, once they get into a serious relationship and move in together, they WOULD be thriving and flourishing all around.

That's why I thought about Seb possibly becoming some big tech guy (hence the Steve Jobs turtle neck) but his passion would still be game developing so he would eventually go back to it, and get some recognition too (finally. Also he's not working from the basement anymore). For Sam the obvious route would be that of a successful musician, but thinking about his more nurturing side (like how he reveals himself in games once you have kids and suddenly he's taking care of everything) I actually pictured him more as someone investing and helping young artists, maybe writing lyrics and music for them, and he would perform only on rare occasions (he would enjoy his jam sessions at Gus' but only if Seb and Abby are joining him).

I think that because of their jobs they would alternate living in Zuzu City, to attend work and social events and meetings, and coming back to Pelican Town seasonally. (Side note: Maru would be living full time in the city being the girl in stem that she is, and her and the guys would always bring home some sick gadgets for Vincent).

Look-wise, the long hair on both of them are once again purely a preference of mine 🗿 I also figured Sebastian would start having a healthier lifestyle so he would be more buff and filled in (he had to start working out seriously or his health would have given up on him after all the hours hunched on his screens) His style would still be mostly all black but less Hot Topic and more Rick Owens, more minimal and cool as he is - but he would keep the gauges.

Sam, in my European mind, is the ultimate American Boy, but like in an 80ies kinda way, therefore as a dilf grown man who works in the music industry I HAD to give him the country outfit, with the golden buckled belt and the (not pictured) boots. Again, my perception of that might be swayed but it seemed like a nice transition from the more chaotic punkish/skater boy style he had when he was younger. Also he kinda looks like Kent but with sweeter, softer expressions, and the beard was just a necessity at this point.

OVERALL I'm way more invested in this that I thought I would be when I first conceived it, and not just because they are hot 🤠

my piece for the Hemisphere: a Witch Hat Atelier seasons themed zine! thank you for having me! they're having a leftovers sale until stock runs out 🖋🍀🌷🍁❄🌧 WIPs + inspiration board + symbolism under the cut! got some requests to put this on my inprnt! the site has sales very often & you can grab it as a small or big size print.

I had a pretty good idea of the composition from the get-go. I took inspiration from art nouveau (primarily Alphonse Mucha), German fairy tales, and some 1920s perfume ads. I wanted the girls to look like fairies, akin to The Root Children by Sibylle von Olfers.

Olly just didn't work out in this drawing due to time restraints. I do love him very much though.

I actually kinda stopped making illustrations like these (including the TGAA/DGS tarot card + TGAA/DGS zine pieces a while back) because they were starting to get very hard on my arm, as I had an RSI (repetitive strain injury) a few years back during school. (Not putting the onus on the zines at all ofc! I genuinely love working with zine projects! it's def a me thing WAHAHAHA. my style was getting too anime and too detailed for my liking and everything was just taking forever to finish ngl. but I didn't have time to experiment with a more simple style outside of all of my deadlines)

I think that realizing you need to stop is okay. It's something that Shirahama teaches us in her story and I want to learn to take it to heart.

MILD SPOILERS AHEAD (for those who havent read the story I guess)

each character's symbolism:

- Coco - spring, clovers - Coco is the quintessential spring girl, and I wanted her to symbolize new beginnings, and oh boy did Coco bring a big one. The four leaf clover in particular symbolizes luck and good fortune - to some characters, Coco may have brought fortune, to others her presence brings misfortune, take that as you will.

- Tetia - summer, gladiolus - the name "gladiolus" comes from the Latin word "gladius", meaning "sword", based on the shape of the flower. you can interpret it as "you pierce my heart", perfect for a girl like Tetia, who has a contagious energy, with a romantic and grandiose nature.

- Agott - autumn, marigold - I read somewhere marigolds symbolize strength and power, perfect for our little magical powerhouse Agott. They can also symbolize jealousy (yellow flowers in particular have this association), which reflects on her rivalry with Coco in the beginning.

- Riche - winter, snowdrop - The white color of snowdrops has a strong connotation to innocence, which reflects on Riche's wish to stay a child forever. It can also symbolize rebirth and new beginnings (like Coco's clovers), as the snowdrop is the first flower to bloom in the spring, when the snow has not yet melted. I wanted the concept of "rebirth" to associate with Riche's friendship with Euini, and of his sort of "rebirth" into a new being.

- Qifrey - he does not have a flower per se, but as the caregiver and educator of the four girls, he represents the rainy season - precipitation being the one thing that binds all of these seasons together. (Note some areas of the world do not have a rainy season like where I live). I think somewhere along the line I wanted to put hydrangeas behind him, to really bring out the "rainy" theme, but the thought probably got lost somewhere in translation...

WE THOUGHT WE WERE DONE, but we thought wrong heh. I was looking back at my first Seb poster and I felt like it didn't match the style of the series. Trust me, I have no complaints when drawing this man and ugh, I think this one is my favourite. I may revisit another one in the series too 👀

"Have One On Me" comparison

-Focus on Sarah Bernardt -

As Joanna said in an interview, a model in a some parisian art studio around 1920 in Paris (France) is one of the inspirations for the HOOM cover photo. As I already said, Sarah Bernardt (mostly active between 1860 and 1915), represent a comparison that can be considered as a little bit anachronic from the date Joanna give. But there is too much resemblance for not being mentioned. First of all, as the most famous actress of her time, she was depicted by a lot of difrent painters, mostly in strong "femme fatale" or lasive pose, that match with the HOOM cover picture. Than more over, if the Alphonse Mucha's atelier was the parisian art studio that Joanna refers to, it can't be better matching as Sarah Bernardt was modeling for him. The French actress and the Czech artist was close friends. For difrents portraits, and several theater posters, she posed for him. In one of the previous post you can see some of her "portrait posters" in the background of the atelier. Is Sarah Bernardt the model posing in Paris that Joanna pointed out? She can be a good chalenger, for sure.
