Graham’s (R-S.C.) request to quash his subpoena in Georgia prosecutors’ investigation into potential criminal interference in the 2020 presidential election by President Donald Trump and his allies, signaling he must testify in the probe. Graham had argued that he should be exempt from testifying because of speech or debate clause protections, sovereign immunity and his position as a high-ranking government official. U.S. District Judge Leigh Martin May rejected all three arguments. “The Court finds that the District Attorney has shown extraordinary circumstances and a special need for Senator Graham’s testimony on issues relating to alleged attempts to influence or disrupt the lawful administration of Georgia’s 2022 elections,” the judge wrote. Sen. Lindsey Graham appeared before a special grand jury in Georga, as a part of an investigation into election meddling by former President Donald Trump in 2020.

During a brief statement after the senator finished his testimony, Graham’s office confirmed that he had “answered all questions" in over two hours before the jurors, and that Graham “feels he was treated with respect, professionalism and courtesy.”

Graham’s testimony comes three weeks after the Supreme Court refused his request hault appearing before the special grand jury, saying that “a stay or injunction is just not necessary to safeguard the Senator’s speech or debate clause immunity.”

Musk v reakci na to řekl, že jeho firma již několik let neobdržela spotřebitelskou daňovou slevu. „Zaprvé,“ napsal, „Tesla už roky nemá tuto spotřebitelskou daňovou slevu a také o ni nežádali – na rozdíl od GM a Fordu. Kromě Grahamovy kritiky řekl ukrajinský velvyslanec v Německu Muskovi, že si má jít „vykřikovat pryč“. „Jediným výsledkem je, že teď už si žádný Ukrajinec NIKDY nekoupí vaše teslové kecy,“ uvedl na Twitteru ukrajinský velvyslanec v Německu Andrij Melnyk. "Tak hodně štěstí." Během rané fáze ukrajinsko-ruského konfliktu Musk oznámil, že využije svou internetovou službu Starlink na pomoc ukrajinské vládě a jejímu vojenskému úsilí proti Rusku. Tento týden Musk potvrdil, že SpaceX utratilo 80 milionů dolarů za Starlink ve východoevropské zemi. „Náklady SpaceX na aktivaci a podporu Starlink na Ukrajině jsou zatím ~80 milionů dolarů. Válečný vývoj

Ruská invaze na Ukrajinu se začala rozpadat po ukrajinské protiofenzívě, při níž byly od začátku září znovu dobyty tisíce čtverečních mil území, včetně desítek osad v posledních dnech. Ránou pro Moskvu bylo ustoupení tisíce ruských vojáků poté, co se frontová linie rozpadla, nejprve na severovýchodě a od začátku tohoto týdne také na jihu. Členové Rady ruské federace, horní komory parlamentu, se 4. října 2022 v Moskvě účastnili zasedání k ratifikaci legislativy o připojení ukrajinských oblastí Doněcku, Chersonu, Luhanska a Záporožska  k Rusku. Ruský prezident Vladimir Putin podepsal zákon o začlenění těchto čtyř částečně okupovaných ukrajinských regionů do Ruska, včetně Záporoží, v rámci největšího pokusu o anexi Evropy od druhé světové války. Zelenskyj ve středu řekl, že jeho armáda znovu dobyla další osady v jižní Chersonské oblasti a záběry zveřejněné z Chersonu ukázaly ruské bojové vozidlo pěchoty s bílým kusem látky omotaným kolem hlavně děla ve zjevné kapitulaci. The Supreme Court denies request from Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-S.C.) to avoid having to testifying in the investigation into the efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia, NBC News reports.

The decision came after an investigation into post-election phone calls between Graham and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, in which he questioned Raffensperger’s power to reject certain absentee ballots.
