What are your favorite Galolio headcanons?

Oh, this is a tough one, but my fave is probably the idea that when it comes to demonstrations of love and affection, Galo's the one who does it more often/more easily. And I'm not talking about the more basic stuff like flirting or casual touches or kissing

I'm talking about Galo's buying Lio small gifts every other day just because it's something Lio might like, serenading him every other day just cause a song got stuck in his head and it makes Galo think of him, leaving him sweet notes on the fridge when he has to go out, etc

Galo's all sprinkles of affection (when it's not an Important Day™, in which case he's probably gonna go above and beyond) in a way that doesn't come off as easy to Lio, and over time, being on the receiving end really builds

And builds

And fucking builds

Until it EXPLODES and the next thing you know, he's bringing home a life-sized mecha figurine that might as well have cost an arm and a leg and no he doesn't CARE that they have no space for it, he'll MAKE SPACE because Galo deserves this, or serenading Galo under their window with Gueira and Meis playing the melody like the Mad Burnish trio have secretly been some sort of band the whole time even though they've never played together and the neighbours better not complain or they're gonna get A FEW CHOICE WORDS, or covering Galo up in stick-notes while he sleeps, each of them with different things Lio loves about him, and maybe a few more scattered around the place and yeah he may have spent all night awake doing this but it's FINE he can live off nothing but coffee for a day—

Point is

Lio gives back as good as he gets, but it's usually an explosive all at once kind of situation, and hoh boy does it take Galo off guard every time and makes him swoon and wanna be even more affectionate

so i have four main guys with an actual storyline (avry arlo rass rocks). technically five but the fifth doesn't have a name yet so we're not talking about her. and then i have funky little guys (moth, some other clones who i havent posted, and my newest guys cobra and lio!!)

avry is in her early twenties! she was knighted roughly a month before the clone wars began and wasn't supposed to lead a battalion at first. the jedi master who was going to lead the 409th battalion was several weeks away from kamino as the clone wars started, though, and avry was temporarily assigned to the 409th because she's closer and there isn't time to wait.

this temporary assignment is when she first met arlo, who at the time was a captain. in their third or fourth battle, the LAAT/i that was carrying arlo was shot down and his helmet was knocked off in the crash. avry lifted the rubble of the LAAT/i off of the survivors of the crash using the force-- if she hadn't been there, arlo probably would've bled out from his head injury before anyone managed to get to him.

shortly after this, the jedi master in charge of the 409th finally arrives! she's an older rodian training her second padawan, rass. she and avry's master are padawan siblings. avry leaves the 409th in the jedi master's capable hands and is assigned on several small relief missions.

of course, a few months later the 409th has an encounter with general grievous. the jedi master does not survive, but she does make sure rass will make it out alive.

avry is in the area, so she returns to the 409th. rass is supposed to go back to the jedi temple but they can't fathom leaving all of the clones they've befriended and fought beside-- they've already lost their master. so avry (impulsively) offers to take rass on as her own padawan.

and. well. this solves some problems. this also creates more problems. avry is already absolutely terrified about being responsible for a battalion. now she's also responsible for rass as well, who's basically her little sibling. she's not prepared for either of these things, but she's good enough at faking it so she's not going to think about it too much because she might break down and there isn't time for that. she can process everything when the war is over and everything goes back to normal.

she's very good at convincing herself that things will go back to normal.

arlo is doing better overall-- he's been promoted to commander (the original commander died a few weeks after avry left). he has a lot of confidence in avry. between avry saving his life early on, and the jedi master's competence and poise, he's a little ridiculously loyal to the jedi.

he's also a little bit blind to avry's flaws.

hold on. about arlo's pronouns: she is not thinking about her gender in universe until pretty late in the clone wars. i swap between she and he because she will end up using she/he pronouns.

rass meets rocks when their first master is still alive, while scouting out a droid factory. rass is leading rocks' squad and there are droids coming their direction. rass asks the clones if any of them have something that rass can throw to distract the droids. rocks hands over a rock. a few minutes later rass asks for another object. rocks hands over another rock. he has at least ten more.

rass nearly compromises the mission by laughing at the fifth rock produced. after this rass and rocks are inseparable. rocks, who is about an inch and a half shorter than the average clone, is delighted that he's no longer the shortest person he knows.

rass and rocks are my beloveds i love them dearly.

beyond my "main" four, i have moth (can be summed up by this and this) and cobra (very new guy. hes living his best life. having an affair with lio.) and lio (full name lio veniid. senator. a bit pretentious. not very significant politically. extremely disappointed by cobra's lack of appreciation for wine, has made it his goal in life to change this. its not working very well so far but they're both having a great time)

also fun fact: i have a curse in which i am incapable of drawing arlo's scar correct on any full piece. it's on the left side of her head. (forgot it) (flipped the canvas too many times)

"What were you expecting? It's Valentine's Day." Folding his arms over in front of his chest, Lio shifts his gaze away from the large crowd gathered in front of Galo's favorite pizza place and looks to the firefighter himself. Despite his dry, exasperated tone, the ex-burnish can see that the taller man is disappointed - while the pizzeria has always been popular, it's not normally so busy that they can't get in. From the look of the crowd, however, Lio imagines that they'll be waiting for close to an hour - maybe more, depending on how long the other customers dally.

It's why he'd formulated a backup plan a week ago, though the blonde had been careful to keep Galo in the dark. Reaching over, Lio takes hold of the firefighter's forearm, turning away to pull him along without waiting for his friend to agree.

"C'mon. I have pizza bites at my place. Quit pouting and maybe I'll let you pick the movie."

"Yeah, but..." His words died off in the back of his throat, a whine slipping through his lips shortly after. CRUSHED didn't begin to cover the expression on Galo's face as he stared at the line that practically wrapped itself around the city block, pairs and small groups of folks all chatting away amicably as they waited for their turn for seating. He had been looking forward to enjoying one of the best pizzas in Promepelis, by one of the best pizza makers in around.

Lio, however, seemed to have other plans, his words registering only AFTER Galo had been pulled aside a significant ways away from the shop. His eyes began to rapidly blink, turquoise gaze shifting away from prominent crowd and over towards the ex-burnish's smaller figure that lead Galo with a deceptively strong and firm hold. Gradually did EXCITEMENT begin to ignite within him, that familiar spark of pure heat beginning to BURN.

"No way !! Really?!" He exclaimed as he now stepped in line with Lio's pace, eagerly striding beside him with practical STARS in his eyes. "Me? I get to choose?" An honor he thought he would never have, not to mention whilst in company of Lio and a nice batch of pizza bites. "Oh man, this is gonna be awesome !!"

GONE was the rainy day demeanor from prior, practically punched away from the aggressive fist pumps to the air Galo was expressing in his moment of cheers and whoops. The loss of eating his favorite pizza was but a fleeting memory, all thanks to Lio's quick thinking. Quite frankly, the blond was Galo's hero just then.

"Wow, Lio, you really saved the day!" He praised boisterously, moving to now lock the other in an arm hold as a flurry of cheek-to-head rubs was bestowed.

From a makeshift doorway in the Burnish shelter emerged a newer resident, one who had once struggled to accept that he would be loved here, that he had a place here. Shuuji had been with the community for a little while now, and while his integration was shaky at the best of times, it was clear he worked diligently on finding his place here — one such way he contributed was to help with food or supply runs for those who lived within the shelter's walls, acting as both scout and shield to allow others to collect what they could before they retreated.

As he approached, it became clear that the young man had a small hempen bag clutched in one hand, well-worn and lovingly patched up to ensure he could continue to use it for supply runs. Its presence here with them alone was strange as it was typically only used to bring items into their stores, but it would become clear why he brought it when he dug his other hand in and produced a small sweet roll from within. The chocolatey treat was held up and offered towards the green-haired man, Shuuji's expression soft with a gentle smile on his lips.

❝ I don't know if you like chocolate — or sweets in general, really — but... I managed to snag this in our recent restocking run, and I wanted you to have it. It's... not much, but you deserve something nice for all you do for us. ... Frankly, you deserve a lot more than I could ever give you, but I'll start here and work towards those bigger things when I'm strong enough to. ❞

" --- yeah, sorry if you've been looking for me. Everything alright? "

His first instinct is to ask if anything is wrong--- his SECOND is to ask what he can do to make things BETTER, even if just a tinge. So many were from different walks of life, placed into this situation because something somewhere, at some BAD time in their lives, had happened. Lio considers himself FORTUNATE sometimes that he does not remember the defining moment that had lead to him becoming a Burnish. High amounts of STRESS, they say, typically as a result of intense emotions or straight up ANGER have been stated as the cause of these flaming mutations, which means every single Burnish here and BEYOND has been through hell to get here, and is surviving just to get THROUGH it.

No memory means he has nobody to yearn for, no past life to miss and reflect on. Nothing more than the people at his side who protect him and care for him just as much as he does them. They never bring him GIFTS, though, not that he wants or expects them--- they're lucky enough, on rare days, to be able to feed the whole settlement more than a couple bites of food, and he'd rather precious resources be used on the weaker, more vulnerable members, like the children or elderly. When Shuuji brandishes a PRESENT for him, then, he's understandably CONFUSED, as if anybody else's palms but his OWN were far more worthy to accept the gift than his own.

" F-For me? You... really didn't have to... thank you, Shuuji, " He says, quietly, knowing Shuuji will just AGREE with him, because chocolate is HARDLY a necessity, but he's coming to understand Shuuji as a person, slowly but surely. Another one who tends to GIVE more than he TAKES, an essential trait to possess as one of the few PROTECTORS of their group. He hadn't pushed for Shuuji to join them, always leaving the choice up to the individual, but leaving the door OPEN should they ever desire a community who understands them, but he's HAPPY Shuuji came around. The man had truly become a crucial part of their survival, and Lio was no fool to attempt to claim he didn't need all the help he could get.

Chuckling, the Burnish leader carefully pulls the pastry from its packaging and tears off a piece, before offering the bulk of it BACK to Shuuji. " I don't really do sweets... they make my stomach hurt, but... you went to all this trouble to get this for me. I'm nothing if not grateful, no matter the gift. So, I'll eat a little bit... " He gestures towards the small bite he had torn off and pops it into his mouth with a smile, nodding as the, admittedly, DELICIOUS taste hits his tongue.

" And the rest? Give to the kids. They'll love it, and appreciate it far more than me... and don't worry about getting me anything else; you being here is a BIG enough gift to me. I'm glad to have you around. "

Viggo merely grunted, barely acknowledging Lio's greeting and comment as he took his place next to the Egyptian demigod at the firing range. He was not fond of guns but he trained with them religiously in order to stay in shape. He had finally found somebody on the island (not Irelia) that he could actually tolerate to spend time with. It helped that their backgrounds were similar he supposed.

He placed the muffs on his ears even as he loaded his pistol, still not acknowledging Lio's early comment. After a few shots, he side-eyed his friend. "And you look like you crawled out of some chick's bed." He shot another round of bullets at the target. "And loved it." He added with a smirk. Viggo saw no need to explain he was still pissed Irelia was keeping her ass out of Mount Phoenix, obviously tempting him to track her down.

Between Galo and Lio, who do you think has a better tolerance for horror, like in video games and movies and what have you

Honestly? I love the idea that Galo tries to act rough like "Hey Lio, you wanna watch that horror movie? Sure! You don't need to fear it, I'll be right here with ya!" but he'd be the one to end up hiding his face against Lio the entire time while making excuses about how he's trying to comfort Lio instead

Lio finds it extremely amusing the first time it happens

Him, on the other hand... I'm not saying he's immune to all sorts of horror, but overall he's mostly fine with it, much to Galo's bewilderment, and when asked about it his answer will probably be along the lines of "I've seen worse."

Like, what the fuck does a stupid monster of the week and some pointless gore have on the shit that he's experienced himself? True horror is out there with medical tools and torture machines and a complete lack of care for any human being but the ones like themselves
