1. BLonde bombshell!
If your trying to look like holly then this is your lucky day! being blonde is key to becoming a girl next door. Now you don't have to become a blonde but if you really wanna complete the look. Then go ahead and be extra cause why not?
2. HIGH SOCKS
Back in the day Holly was the queen of wearing knee high socks. She wore them in almost every look. So get yourself a pair of knee high socks and a cute mini skirt! One tip is too not wear socks with sandles. TRUST ME!!! That is a no no socks with sandles is the most disgusting thing in fashion history you do not wanna be seen in those. They can only be worn with mini skirts, booty shorts, and in hot school girl uniforms. But Holly wears them in shorts and skirts.
3. PINK
Holly was known to wear a lot of pink but not as much as Bridget! but will get to that in the later parts of the girls next door series. As you can see she has a pink top on in this picture. She usually wore graphic shirts usually in the color baby pink. She would usually wear shirt with cute thing s on it like dogs and bunnies but will get to that later. The most important part of this series is to wear them tight. I'm not saying to suffocate yourself but start wearing more revealing clothes like v necks, crop tops, polos but un Butten them just a little bit to make yourself look a little more scandalous.
4. CLEAVAGE
Get your self a Victoria's secret bombshell bra. Ok well you don't have to get a Victoria's secret bombshell bra because we both now that's too expensive for us. But just get a cheap push up bra with a lot of plush in it. What I mean by that is to find one that's thick. Preferably one with pads in it and don't take them out. And if you don't find one like neither of those then stuff it I believe in you girl! you can do this! if you don't quite know how to stuff your bra then watch some tutorials to learn on how to make them look more natural or just wear to bras but if wanna go all out then you can stuff them too. Do you girl!
5.PERSONALITY
One important thing into becoming a girls next door is imitating Hollys angelic personality. Holly was a sweetheart and still is and if you wanna copy Hollys angelic persona. Then you will have to start with manners. One reason why Holly is called angelic is because she is always polite with people and does not start arguments. Another reason is because she never smacks while eating or gets food on herself, or messes up her makeup. Lastly if she has something to do that is a important duty she will do it without complaining. One thing about holly is that she likes so have fun so im not telling you to be stuck up. But just be polite!
6. Marlyn Monroe
Just like the last topic about personality most of Hollys elegance comes from Marlyn Monroe. As you can see in this picture she has an haircut inspired by her. So if you wanna become like Holly then your gonna have to be like Marlyn a little to . Because Marlyn is Hollys biggest inspiration. Most of her outfits in the show "The Girls Next Door" are inspired by Marilyn Monroe. In important events like Casa Blanca Nights, Bridget's murder mystery birthday party, and her second photo shoot with Bridget and Kendra was inspired by Marlyn Monroe.
7. Makeup!

8. Clothes
Back in the early 2000s Holly wore shirts from the brand happry bunny, blonde mafia, juicy couture, denim jean skirts, high socks, low waist jeans, playboy jackets, fancy dresses, long sleeve shirts, converses, uggs, jackets, shoes, high heels. The end
sorry if this was sloppy i wrote this really late
also if holly sees this don't take it seriously because i know this is only how you acted on the show
Omg, dear Jen, I saw that someone asked about make up tips, can you give us more make up tips please?
For example, how to prevent your concealer from looking brittle in the dark circles area, how to make eyeshadow last longer, how to make the highlighter stay in place, the best tip to make lips look juicy and not so matte, and more please 🥺💘
MAKEUP!!! I love me some makeup and teaching.
Brittle looking concealer. It almost sounds as if you’re not using a concealer that works for you. Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Skincaring Concealer is amazing. Their biggest flaw is the color selection. Don’t get me started. Pat McGrath Labs has a great concealer as well. Don’t overdo the concealer. Adding too much could make it dry wonky. After you put the concealer on, let it sit on your skin and get a bit thicker, it’ll cover better. The best tools for concealer is a damp beauty sponge or just your fingers. Also, MAC Fix+ is one of my favorite makeup products, I use it throughout my routine.
Eyeshadow lasting longer. Do you use an eyeshadow primer? My favorite is the MAC 24 Hour Eye Base, but the Milani one is actually really good as well. If you have a lot of veining in your eyes, you may like the MAC Paint Pots instead.
Highlighter stay in place. So I do two different things with my highlighter, depending on what I’m in the mood for. When I want a more naturally glowy look I start off with one of the Hourglass Ambient Light Powders, any of them are great, but Luminous Light is a favorite of mine. I put that on the apples of my cheeks, cheeks, and even above my brows. I’ll put it on my nose and above my cupids bow. Then spray your face with MAC Fix+ and add a more beaming highlighter. MAC Silver Dusk is something I LOVE! That product randomly gets “discontinued” and they bring it back, but one pot will last forever! Another thing that I do is I will put a cream highlighter base. I’m very pissed off at MAC for discontinuing the cream color bases, and Becca for going out of business 😤 but any cream will work. And then you put your favorite powder on top. Now if you really need to glow (keep in mind this works before for a look that keeps your hair out of your face because it stays tacky) but the Makeup by Mario Master Secret Glow Highlighter. It’s just a creamy product, and you can do a glossy eye look or just put it on your cheek bones. No shimmer, just a glow.
Juicy lips. I always start a lip of the day with the MAC lip primer, y’all I’m an OG MAC artist, so yes I use a lot of MAC. But start with that and a lip liner. MAC are my favorite, but Makeup by Mario, Pat McGrath, and Scott Barnes makes amazing pencils. Line your lips, and I always fill in the the outside of your lips a bit, and take your finger and blend it into your lips. For juicy lips you can’t get any better than the Dior lip oils OR MAC LipGlass. Why MAC discontinued their DazzleGlasses, I’ll never understand. But LipGlass is fantastic! Oyster Girl and C Thru are two of my favorites. Afterwards I ALWAYS finish with MAC Stone lip liner to over line a bit and create shadow on your lips. It makes you look even more poutier.
Sharing my theme for August’s Lindsay’s Favorite Things: Y2K! 💕💜
This theme became more personal as I worked on this page. I would say in the end I would call it, “Y2K Girlhood”. The images are what I remember from the early to mid-aughts, and what stood out for me. AKA, it may not line up with today’s images of revisiting “Y2K”.
I could have added so much more. 😅 I was 12-17 in the early to mid-aughts, and it was my coming of age time! I could do pages upon pages of collages just collecting memories.
I was momentarily frustrated when looking for accessories for this pic that I’ve packed up most of my memorabilia from that time and put it in storage. Then I remembered I have a box in my closet of old technology! AND I pretty recently bought this mini Mac lipglass — the very first “high end” make up product I got and was in loovvee with in 2001-2002. Enjoy a little dip into memory lane. 😁
i’m such a consumer , i fall for packaging so easily , thank god i don’t have money to burn or i would purchase most items in a five mile radius — gnashing my teeth trying not to be the stranger things lipglass on sale

I have a particular fascination with Yasmeen Ghauri.
TLDR; Ghauri was a well-known Pakistani and German supermodel in the 90s who had a preference to do her own makeup—the artists at the time weren't versed in doing up people of color.
Known for her classy catwalk, she is considered one of the most iconic models of the time alongside Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell.
With olive undertones to my skin and my mother's Middle-Eastern features, I always had trouble doing my makeup in a flattering manner in adolescence. Since I discovered Ghauri about a year ago, I've been inspired to do my own makeup in a similar style.
The main characteristics of this 90s model look incorporate matte skin, flashback from powder, cool-toned eyes, and a deep lip with contrast between the liner and gloss.

We want to go home at some point this year. Nothing is certain, but it's something to look forward to. I feel like buying the entire Hudson's Bay store for Maa; for Ammu I feel like I can carry the entirety of Bed Bath and Beyond in my suitcase. I know full well that there's no splurging with our dwindling grad student finances, but still.
I thought of a Humayun Ahmed horror story that I'd read long ago; a story called Ouija Board. Alauddin, a not-so-prodigal Bengali son has returned home with a white wife; his seventeen-year-old sister (that's a Humayun-favourite age if I may say so) is judging the hell out of them. What really struck me in the story are the gifts he brought for his family: a gray pure wool sweater for the mother, a gadget for the father, and a lip gloss for the sister.
How bad were these gifts, really? I went over to some websites to check. On the lowest end, merino wool sweaters on Banana Republic start at 99 dollars. I searched "pure wool" and an Eddie Bauer sweater for 189 dollars showed up. In the print I'd read he kept calling it a lip glass. Could it be a Mac Lipglass? Those are 25 dollars apiece. Little stocking stuffer type lipglosses from Elf are 5-10 dollars apiece, but of very good quality.
I remember how Alauddin's behaviour broke his family's hearts, I remember that well, but a chill ran down my spine when I thought about gifts. Just last week I was talking about taking sweaters for my mother and mother in law. Just a few days ago I was thinking of taking lipsticks for my younger cousins. I remember how in the story, Alauddin explained how money was tight; how his wife had decided to travel in the last moment. Money is short on this end too.
Back when I'd first read it as a teenager, these seemed like weird gifts. Now that I'm older, these are the exact kind of gifts that make sense. We are to pack light to avoid suspiscion and a monetary fine. We are to carry something for everyone and make the most people happy. It's not like we have to, but we do love everyone. Strange how we remember experiences in one way but their interpretation changes over the years.
I'm on the other side of this gifting business now, the seventeen-year-olds are going to judge away. I hope they understand though, just like I did today, or at some point.
Superstar Miley Cyrus was awesome in the iconic campaign’s 20GLAM15 spokesperson. The global pop phenomenon kicks off her VIVA GLAM with two sure fire hits: a super-sexy hot pink Lipstick and matching Lipglass with sparkling pearl shimmer. Every cent of the selling price goes toward helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. ❤💗 #womenshistorymonth
