O N L Y. O N E. E A R T H The 2022 World Environment Day campaign #OnlyOneEarth calls for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet. “In our galaxy are billions of planets, But there is Only One Earth.” Here I am in my studio trying to do what I can to make a change for the good of our planet. All the watercolours I use in my work are handmade by me using foraged rocks. I only use vegan binders and ingredients when I make my paints. Although I may only be making a small difference, it’s the power of collectivity that can make big changes. Be conscious of what you buy, what you do and how you live your life. O B S E S S E D I’m a little obsessed with this new paint courtesy of @catcoulterartist She very kindly foraged a local rock for me whilst in Fife. It had an iron rich colour to the outside but was sparkly and tanned inside. I was full of surprise to see it glistening in the sun this afternoon. It’s been decided that this paint should be called Cat’s Pixie Dust! I’ve still got a way to go on this painting, it’s very much a work in progress but the gorgeous birch plywood is a joy to work on.
