going to ramble about this one actually

(almost) all of chrom's supports are decent but i do think maribelle's is a cut above the rest if for nothing else than it using maribelle's intense blush portrait. these two being together makes SENSE. maribelle deserves to be lissa's sister-in-law it's perfect

but more than chrom/maribelle as a singular i love what this does for their kids. maribelle would commission lucina a whole wardrobe with clothing that cannot be mismatched to ensure lucina never inflicted her horrible dress sense upon anyone, and because it's from her mother, lucina would innocently love the gesture. chrom would definitely encourage brady's self-expression behind maribelle's back MUCH to her chagrin and ruin all her (and the castle staff's) etiquette teachings.

the in-game interactions are really good too.....

there's maribelle in the lucina reveal chapter:

Maribelle: All right, Maribelle. Be calm, and handle this like a true woman of good breeding… Or just punch him in his cheating lying face! Grrr…

AND

Maribelle: This is Lucina's pattern... Chrom: You see now? Maribelle: No! I DON'T! Did someone kidnap our daughter and...and...and ENLARGE her?

(i adore maribelle with all my heart)

NOT TO MENTION this iconic brady recruitment:

Chrom: Your father is a swordsman? Brady: None of your damn business, dog! Chrom: Do you always speak this way to Ylissean royalty? Brady: I am Ylissean royalty! Chrom: ... What? Brady: ... Huh?

(chrom saying after he's proud brady chose to be a healer means so much to me)

another thing i appreciate: in both brady's paralogue and her dialogue with lucina in future past 3, maribelle is like "don't cry bc a) it's unbecoming and b) you'll make ME cry too" then starts sobbing

this pairing makes me wish there was a lord class with staff access in awakening bc lucina with a white magic flavour... so good... what must i do to give luci some staves and the book of naga and have her go ham. what price must i pay. (also, at the very least, LISSA deserves this hypothetical class....)

okay, gonna pitch an idea to you for if someone ever manages to make a fe13 poly mod:

chromgailivibelle

because chromlivia is already great (and chrom as inigo's father works too well as discussed many times)

but then you've also got gaius being TOO DAMN SHIPPABLE. the greatness of gaimari (GOD-TIER supports imo), chromgai (need i say more?), and gailivia (featuring gaius offering sweets to someone else - is there a higher form of love? - AS WELL AS THE VERY IMPORTANT CHROM ORANGE-EATING METHOD LORE)

AND THEN you've got the wonders of oliviabelle, with maribelle teaching olivia to flirt with people to get over her shyness (which she in turn kinda advises inigo to do in the future)

and I know a lot of people prefer lissabelle to chromibelle, but the dialogue when chrom recruits brady as his father is TOO DAMN HILARIOUS

plus now lucina has TWO easy-to-cry younger brothers who won't stop arguing with their cousin

anyway, that's my thesis; does the board approve?
