okay yes frank langdon with grey hairs. they start to pop up in his beard first, but he’s always pretty clean shaven so it’s whatever. then around his hair line and he’s not about to dye his hair but he does tweeze out the grey hair before anyone can comment. he thinks, stupidly, that he’s covered all his bases. nobody will know that frank langdon is getting older (and probably greying a lil early from stress).

then one evening he’s got mel under him, on her back, and typically she’ll take off her glasses when they fuck. her hair will get caught in them, it’s awkward to kiss with them on for awhile, etc. but for some reason she kept em on. frank doesn’t mind, he loves her with her glasses on. it’s all going fine, she’s moving her hands down from his shoulders to his chest because she really loves his chest hair, and then she’s giggling. so he slows down because what could be so fucking funny right now (he loves when mel laughs when they have sex cuz it’s so cute but like hey wtf).

“you’re greying! your chest hair is going grey!”

and now frank’s embarrassed so he’s trying to get mel to stfu but mel just keeps goin.

“wait, let me look at your hairline. have you started greying there? oh- don’t be embarrassed!!”

muffled by her tits, because now he’s just resorted to hugging her to hide his shame, he mumbles out “now i’m gonna look like an old pervert hanging off of you.”

“you don’t wanna be my old man?”

so maybe that night learns just how much mel likes that he’s older. the way she prefers him to be older and act older. so maybe he stops plucking his grey hairs out and revels in the fact that she loves kissing his crows feet.

Tbh I do think that Zolu could realistically be a couple and make out and have sex without being disingenuous to Luffy's stated sexuality or having any attraction between them whatsoever. Iirc, sex and all that is something that Luffy just "doesn't think about" - and he's obv had plenty of time to grow attracted to someone in a romantic or sexual way, and just hasn't. (Zoro doesn't seem to show interest in other people like that either, which is likely unintentional irt sexuality but a truth nonetheless.) So like, no attraction- possibly at all, possibly without the catalyst of experiencing it first. K. Cool. Good.

Then there's also the distinct relationship that Zoro and Luffy have, bound together by fate in a different way than the rest. Luffy loves all his crew equally, but love has different forms in different relationships (not in a way that's necessarily labelable as romantic, familial, or any of that)

And then their brains work the same, they speak the same language, they have the same crazy sense of devotion, etc etc etc. And look how crazy devoted they are already, how intense. Ultimately, they've probably discovered every single way to express affection toward each other that they can.

But when there's something major, something life-changing, it can feel like all the established ways of telling someone you care aren't adequate in that moment. Something like a final fight in a 1000+ chapter story would probably feel that way; that ultimate success and victory. But what expression of love haven't those two traded back and forth a million times by now?

Kisses are known to signify love, of multiple kinds. I honestly don't think that either of them have particularly thought about it much, but they know it's an action that exists. And I don't think Luffy would mind at all in that context: a kiss as communication. And obviously, it's easy for the serotonin and dopamine rush from being told something that intense to cause you to indulge, to say it right back. I don't think it's about physical pleasure or having a relationship that involves kissing or more for either of them. I just also know that there's gotta be a moment in the story where Luffy fully fucking processes that Zoro's not gonna leave his side, ever, and this late in the story that's a way for it to play out and feel realistic.

Luffy's relationships, outside of his brothers and bio family, aren't something that should be fit into a societal label, because what's important to him is the actual actions themselves, and words are, frankly, limiting. Hence, nakama.

I need to marinate more thoughts for this but. okay so gravity falls au. partially inspired by this. fiddleford has the memory gun and he's This Close to using it on himself to erase what he saw in the portal. he pauses. he thinks, just because I forget doesn't mean stanford will stop building the portal. he thinks it's all or nothing. he goes to stanford's shack in the woods. he sneaks in through the side door and sees stanford sleeping on the couch. it's dark outside. the lights are out. fiddleford can barely make out the shape of his former-friend's body. fiddleford looks at Stanford one last time. he types into the memory gun, Stanford Pines. he points the gun. half a second before he fires, Stanford stirs, as if sensing the danger he is in. he manages to get out "who-" before fiddleford, panicking, pulls the trigger before he can chicken out completely.

stanley wakes up on a couch he doesn't remember falling asleep in, with a terrified looking man standing over him, holding a glowing gun, and thinks this is one hell of a situation i've gotten myself into
