✨An Ex in the Villa rant✨

I can’t effectively express my disappointment in the women this season. But I’ll try to anyway. Spoilers for today’s episodes ahead.

Before Casa, Dana could not STOP herself from interrupting MC when she was having any remotely intriguing conversation with someone so she could have a “friend chat”. But now MC has been cheated on AGAIN, denied the opportunity to resolve it, and to top it all off, the woman her ex she was ready to propose to shows up and treats MC like she is somehow to blame??? MC could actually use a friend right about now! But Dana is off giggling and flirting and ignores MC completely.

I was very ready to team up with Gabi and commiserate over how we’d both been wronged, but somehow she’s mad at MC?

You brought up it up, girl! Sorry that you suck.

I’m a reasonable person, though. So I try to reach out like the gracious goddess that I am. And this is what I get.

And then there’s Arlo. She wouldn’t want to fade into the bitchy background, so she rises to the occasion as usual.

Thus concludes another week of disrespecting MC interrupted only by brief unimpressive, generic chat up lines by lackluster LIs. Once again supporting my hypothesis that FB is attempting to troll and punish us. Somebody write a rage fanfic rewrite, stat!!

Why are Suresh stans already posting tons of Gabi hate? I've read the scripts and she has done nothing wrong as far as I can tell. I don't really see why you think she's using Dana. The girl is just having a hot girl summer. I think she signed up because she's still angry at Suresh for making her the other woman on a reality show. She wants to prove that she's not the bad guy. Am I missing something? I feel like Suresh stans want him to be her victim to justify his flaws and fears

I'm not going to speak for all Suresh Stans but here's why I don't like Gabi...

When she first walks into the villa....She knows who she is and MC obviously doesn't but when she realizes it, she's rocked by it. Instead of sitting down with MC that night privately and clearing the air, she avoids her. MC chases her around the villa not only that night but the next morning, only for Gabi to avoid her and then to blab everything to everyone on their date. If you want to prove you're not the bad guy don't be the bad guy!

Re: her using Dana...Anytime she's asked about coming on the show to get back together with Suresh, she can't answer the question, why? When the girls get the postcard from casa amor, where she sees Suresh sleeping alone on the daybeds, she's got a smile plastered on her face. If she was truly here for a hot girl summer, she would say so.

It's also truly suspect to me that if your MC is a bitch to her the entire time during casa amor that when the boys return and Suresh walks in Gabi becomes buddy buddy with MC. Again why? Especially if MC has been a cow to her the entire time!! The math aint mathing.

hello! this ask is so sweet, I just kept forgetting to get to it!

I'll start with an easy one. I'm sure no one would be surprised to know that I'm inspired by Taylor Swift's music. The song Cruel Summer shares a name with my LITG fic because I was so obsessed by the theme of loving someone while trying to keep them at arms length that is explored in that song. I hope that the characters in my fic can grow from that point once they realize their feelings are more than just a summer fling. Either way, that song is so perfect for Love Island. Besides Cruel Summer, I get so lost in folklore and evermore, her lyrics are so inspiring from a prose standpoint and in a literal sense of spurring my imagination.

Another inspiration for me lately has been the book Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. I was so taken by the way this book was written, I was jotting down notes on her craft half the time I was reading. I also loved the characters terribly, I can only hope that I'll be able to do something similar with my writing someday.

Something that laid the groundwork for my love of writing was my childhood favorite series The Name of This Book is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch (Raphael Simon). His stories featured a self insert "author" character throughout that gave a bit of insight into writing and the publishing industry. I've been obsessed with every part of making books ever since.

I don’t mind them bringing a girl into casa amor if she was only there for the girls. That would have been amazing.

But, yeah, I don’t think Gabrielle should have been dropped into our casa villa. Gabi should have been a bombshell or a casa girl for the boys.

the 'gabi is innocent and they painted suresh as the big bad wolf and everyone hates him' opens up such a great route tho. like, imagine everyone being against him, calling him names etc, and he’s just sort of sitting alone, probably thinking about just dropping it all and going home, and then he hears footsteps, turns around and sees mc. she sits down next to him and is like „you’re not a saint, you’ve made mistakes and did a lot of things wrong. but i know you’re not a bad person, despite what everyone else thinks. you came here to win me back and prove that you’ve changed, so i’m waiting for you to do that. i’m on your side here, we’re a team- you and me. just like the old times” and then they just spend the whole day together, laughing and talking shit about the others.

Besties, I restarted the game and I really don’t wanna go through all that again, so I’m just gonna take a break from it. Replaying a story where the outcome is the same regardless of your choices just feels so tedious. It’s not fun anymore 😭

And it SUCKS because these characters have a lot of potential too. I WAS gonna stay for Suresh’s redemption arc or the possibility to get with Gabrielle, but it’s not even worth it at this point.

i’m noticing this season has a problem with drama ik this sounds wild bc everyone was begging for more in season 4 but hear me out suresh could have been redeemed so many times, like when was sleeping alone at casa, or when he literally slept on the day beds first night, hell even when he poured his fockin heart out to mc even!! but fusebox keeps pushing the drama and there’s a point where a character just becomes so unlikeable and they’re getting there with suresh after what we heard from gabi like they’re pushing this ex in the villa thing but they’re making it so hard to like him…like i was strong team suresh but after reading the leaks it’s like they’re so focused on completely destroying characters its ridiculous.

the whole point of the game is to get back with your ex but they’re making it so hard?? but knowing me i’m finna run back to him the moment he gets another redemption so maybe i’m just talkin lol
