Here are some of my fav LIs from each season of litg (we all have different and similar opinions, please be respectful)

•S1: Jake and Talia. Jake was a slow burn but really did care for Mc and was just afraid to show it until last minute, coupled up with him the moment I had a chance, plus when Cherrygate happened… Jake put a protective arm around you as you walked away from your current partner. Talia is so gorgeous and thoughtful, when my Mc was coupled up with Mason, him and Levi started getting into it and Talia told them to stop swinging their dicks and made sure my Mc was ok. I of course replayed it and took the Talia route 😊 have not regretted it.

•S2: BOBBY!! No words can explain when my s2 Mc and him just meshed together. Literally so thoughtful, kind, loving and funny. He really was head over heels for Mc in the end and really cared for his friends! When drama would happen, he would be the first to try fix things together.

•S3: Harry and AJ. Harry is cute looking and I love his backstory of his family basically saying he is adopted and he has two other siblings (I think, it’s been awhile and I of course am not able to replay it) he explains he such a good brother and his old t-shirt looked kind of cute on my Mc. AJ gives off golden retriever energy and she’s so beautiful! Her style is beyond stunning and playing her route was heart warming for me.

•S4: Youcef. Now towards the end of the season I realized I’m a sucker for slow burns. At first I thought he and Bruno were ugly when they showed up in the hot tub date. But as we got to see more of his personality somewhere in between… I had to make my Mc couple up with him. But seriously… fusebox did him REALLY dirty. I remember someone saying this… every time he smiles he looks like he’s in pain. He kind of does tbh. I love his personality but he could have looked better. Also playing his route is the sweetest and the only time you are on track with his route is when you say honesty is the best policy when talking with Tiffany, Bruno and him.

•S5: now f*ck this season! My Mc coupled up with Suresh and took her f*cking money because screw that season. Worst season ever.

•S6: Lewie, Bella and Andy. Lewie is major Golden Retriever energy, I just find him so attractive that I made my Mc immediately coupled with him right away, he just wants everyone to get along and when things go south I think his Captain instincts kick in and try to keep the vibes going. Bella is the most patient woman ever in all the seasons, she literally waited for Mc. She’s just so out of this world too! Her smile is just… UGHHH I WAS SO IN LOVE THAT I HAD TO DO HER ROUTE TOO!! WORTH IT! Now Andy, he was the most popular casa boy this season, I mean look at him! How can anyone resist his smile? And his little prank you see if you brought him back to the main villa on movie night and his little dance, ugh my heart. (I had to play the Ryan route so I wouldn’t have felt guilty for leaving Lewie to be dumped) and he works with animals, I love animals!!

•S7: Joyo. This season wasn’t really worth it since it lost all its excitement after Mc went into the main villa. Joyo immediately caught my eye so I stayed loyal and now I’m replaying for a Raphael route.

•S8: Claudia, Bea and Max. Claudia is so gorgeous AND SHE DESERVED MY MC MORE THAN THEO. My opinion on Theo was that he was still a playboy and disrespected Claudia by trying to flirt with my Mc, like Theo I don’t want you, I want your girl you are not treating correctly. Bea is so gorgeous and if you aren’t on her route, she’s literally your best friend and you get the option to have a little date with her when you guys are in casa together. As I am writing this, I notice that I’m a huge sucker for golden retriever vibes. Max’s color yellow def suits him! Adorable and I found it funny when he pied off your last LI (in my case, it was Jin) and basically showed he wouldn’t back down just because Mc and the last LI had history.

•S9: I have no opinions so far on my favorites but Natasha be looking like she could be a bit of me. She’s beautiful. I just hope Fusebox brings back people from later seasons and people we weren’t able to romance at all. Like being Eddie back, he did not deserve to go and how he experienced love island. I want him to have a chance with my Mc this season.

And, speaking as someone who became open to playing the future LITG seasons post-layoffs, I think the well has run dry since Season 6. The 10th is ongoing as of now, but I just haven't bothered with it since the 1st episode of volume one 😬

On Season 4, we saw some final remnants of the original writing team's work, to the point where some "minor" choices really did matter for unlocking a LI, Youcef

Season 5 was drama central (even *I* don't have it in me to replay it again, and I tried a few times 💀) but, had minimal character overlaps compared to what's being churned out today

And Season 6, while it was where we start to see more of the "merged LIs" formula, it was also the last time we had a decent looking cast that didn't all look like they came out an AI prompt generator :> (when it comes to their faces/bodies.. the hair did look a bit AI-tinged at times sjsgsjsjsj 😭)

Gossip Girl: LITG edition - who is who?

I nominate either Hamish (mostly because it's funny to imagine, I want to see that man in everything), Erikah or Summer for the role as our gossip sneezer

Yes, I loooooooove OG Gossip Girl and I have had a thought on it, though many people may not completely agree with my casting. No one is fully, exactly going to fit here but I tried to use the more affluent Islanders to cast it. I do have 'xoxo' in my drafts, but I doubt it'll ever see light of day. I put the other characters under the cut but left Blair and Serena visible. I don't think there's a perfect match for either and if I were to write this, Blair and Serena would both be OCs. Again, I don't think any Islander fully matches any of the GG characters but mostly because they're so ruthless at different times.

Blair Waldorf - Honestly, no one can match Blair. She is her own level and she's amazing, but if I absolutely had to cast her: Lexi. Lexi is so self-conscious and has a bit of low self-esteem. Though hers is her sister, Blair compares herself to Serena.

Serena Van Der Woodsen - Serena is so bubbly and captivates everyone. I would say Chelsea, but Chelsea is so much of a people pleaser that I don't think she would do a lot of the manipulating Serena did. Now it may be because I didn't do a female route in S8 but I could see Claudia being similar to Serena. She's sunshine and everyone loves her, but cross her and she won't let you forget that she could take that crown away from you before you could even comprehend.

Chuck Bass - Oh Chuck. Probably the best and worst lay of your life. Whoever could fit this super rich business guy with Daddy issues? Obviously this one is Hamish.

Dan Humphrey - Sadly, Dan is sneaky and the most manipulative of everyone and because he's a writer that wrote himself into the story...James. I hate it, too. Sorry.

Jenny Humphrey - This one was hard. I'm obviously going by personality here and not by how I have Dan casted so the Islander that fits Jenny the best and may spiral the way she did would be Jen. They both love fashion, a little edgy, have bite.

Nate Archibald - Again, I'm using affluent Islanders that would actually, possibly be apart of the UES (sorry Lewie you're not affluent). Nate is so boring to me and has no personality except for the fact that he's so perfect that he does no wrong and has this like, exceptional moral compass. He's always pushed by his parents to do things he's not really in favor of doing. Hmmm who else has that problem....Tom.

Georgina Sparks - Georgina is a whole ass mood. She's diabolical and is probably the smartest out of all of the UES. If I had to pick someone to be casted as Georgina, it would probably be Hannah. She flips a switch pretty quickly and doesn't seem to mind getting her hands dirty and pissing off that people she previously thought of as friends.

Carter Baizen - Sorry it's Eddie. I don't make the rules lmfao and I am a Carter apologist. I would have loved to see Serena end up with Carter in the end (yes, even over Nate).

Prince Louis - Youcef would so turn around and be a petty bitch. I do think Louis was actually a good guy but Blair played him the fool too many times for him to let that last one slide. Honestly? Justice for Louis because he was actually so good for Blair despite the little fit she pitched when he acted like he was just a driver on that date.

Lily - Oh come on! This one was so fucking easy. It's Juliet. I don't think I need to explain this one.

Rufus - This one was not easy. He talks about waffles a lot, but is also a good dad (okay, not always when it came to Jenny). Since he's really big into music...I don't know. I can't say Rocco, even though the hair is there, you know? Some part of me wants to say Max, but I don't know why. I think it's because I imagine that Max was similar to how Rufus was when he was young.

Eric Van Der Woodsen - I almost forgot Eric!!!!!! But he's just so special, I can't actually pick someone for him. Literally no Islander fits Eric, but I guess we can say Rohan or Tim. I just think Eric is so specific and the issues his character tackles are so important that you'd need an OC for him too.

Vanessa Abrams - In my GG x LITG universe, she doesn't exist. Bye.

rewrites i would do for litg season 4:

mc enters with oliver, giving us more time to bond with him. because of this, he is positioned as the “bobby” of season aka the islander the game is pushing you to be with

i understand james is the one the game is making you pair up with, but maybe it would be better if it went the jake route where you guys are friends first but ended up actually liking each other and james confesses to you in the latter half of the season (but not at the same time as angie)

when it comes to confessions, i would make youcef confess twice. the first time would feel a bit too fast, sort of suggesting that he is a playboy. but mc gets to interact with him more, learning about his failed engagement and strained relationship with parents. mc realizes that he hides his vulnerability behind his playboy persona and youcef is actually gentle and thoughtful. he still confesses to mc before the final recoupling, but this time it comes out more sincerely and it still plays out the same way: he would be rooting for the mc still even if she doesn’t choose him.

have one of the islanders steal your li [again] in one of the recouplings making the mc the single one this time

when the mc is single, new islanders arrive and they choose to date your last li. during this time, one of the islanders that fancies you try to comfort you and you build a bond with them thru the season. later in the game, this islander confesses to you (this depends on who was your last li, who else you flirted with, etc.)

for an alternative take on the ca twist, the girls and boys will be separated and the girls will be reunited with the dumped boys and the boys will be reunited with the dumped girls. they have a choice to stay with their current li or bring back one of the dumped islanders back in the game (though the game would need to introduce another guy character to even things out)

make kelly an og character and have najuma enter later to mess with mc and li

have the option to also have a “bff ala seb / tim” with one of the boys (but it’s not going to be enforced like in s3)

have thabi realize lexi is a fake and leads to showing lexi (and everyone) that thabi isn’t someone you want to get angry. this leads up to lexi’s dumping

have kobi be the one who “looks after” the islanders instead of lexi in first few episodes. kobi is genuinely welcoming and caring and loves to make everyone feel at home, which makes it sadder that he has poor luck with women

lean into tom being posh and set up a challenge where he is forced to get wild and actually learns to let loose

an lgbt pair to happen while the game is ongoing and doesn’t include the mc

generally have more interactions with everyone and have deeper conversations with li

have sammie / reese / rohan / iona / lily / yasmin / rafi take part again and i do mean please give us more sammie!!

10. Which character do you always forget exists?

Sammi. I know she only appears in Talia’s route, but I haven’t actually finished my Talia playthrough, so I’ve never actually met her. I heard she’s a nice character though, so hopefully one day I’ll stop forgetting her lol!

15. If you had the power to make one character exist in real life, which character would it be?

Just ONE??? 😩😩😩 don’t torture me like that😭 (jk, jk! Lol) I’m gonna have to say Bobby - he’s a bean, he bakes, and he loves unconditionally - I’m sure he’d make this world a better place if he was real (i mean, let’s be honest, he’s just a pixel, but he still makes many people’s lives better lol😊)

24. Pick 3 end-game canon couples and tell us how long you think they lasted after the show

Tai and Ciaran - together forever❤️ They’re such a cute couple, and I think they’re just so perfect for each other:) I can see them having a baby a few years down the line, or two! Or twins!! Imagine they go to a park in the fall, and Kerry is playing with the babies in a pile of leaves🥹

Chelsea and Rocco - hmmm I don’t think they’ll last long? I do feel like they weirdly work well together, but I think with Rocco’s free-spirited nature and love for travel he won’t see her that often and he won’t be there when she needs him, so they’ll eventually fall apart. My prediction - 6-8 months🤷‍♀️

Najuma and Youcef - on and off, on and off, on and off… They’re together, then they fight and fall apart, then they hook up again, maybe try to make this work again, but then it doesn’t… It’s cyclical. They’re into each other too much to let go, but they drive each other nuts when they’re together - yeah, it’s messy and it goes on like that for years…😬

what are your thoughts on litg season 4?

hi anon! overall, i enjoy playing the game. i am definitely on the bruno route now (will venture off with oliver soon *fingers crossed*). i will admit in the beginning, i didn't like much of the development. but, eventually, the game started getting interesting. hopefully, it stays decent until the end. (more in-depth under the cut)

initially anon, i spent a lot of time taking the game apart. most of the time i'm more of a glass-half-full type of person. and i tried to be at the start, but so many things were ticking me. i'm not saying they aren't anymore, i'm just not focusing all my energy on it. i actually disliked bruno, @ikemenlibrary could quote me saying i thought he was sleazy and now look at me coupling up with him at every turn.

anyways, here's a list of things i like about the game:

the best friends: speaking on behalf of having angie and kobi as best friends, these are some ride-or-die friendships. the way that angie has your back, i swear if fusebox has her kicked out soon i'll riot. and after seeing that kobi could be a friend option, i wasn't that upset about not coupling up with him (ok just a tiny bit). but, he was such a great friend and let me not go off talking about his friendship with bruno because *swoon*.

the antagonist: now, i know you've all heard about lexi, sheesh. this girl had me going full angie at her from the beginning and she was annoying to be honest. i didn't hate her. but it was nice to have mc not be a doormat anymore. but, juliet, oh man the rollercoaster ride i went on with that pixel. i liked her standing up to lexi but the stuff she tries to pull on mc, oh hell no. but her storyline was good, i liked her "ending".

najuma: she gets mentioned because i like her i'm-gonna-do-me attitude. they spent the whole last season making the character bend backwards for everything— to have najuma break up with will and then youcef was so decisive of her. let's be honest, they're always making the girls pine after guys like men don't do that or something.

james: my boy james is so sweet and worth gold. he gives me gary and ibrahim vibes, and they would be someone i'd love to have as a mate but dating i just can't. nonetheless, that man is soft and on his route, that man is dedicated to mc and it's what our mc's deserve and james deserves.

thabi: i haven't had the chance to see what the friendship route with thabi is like, but from the gist of it, she's such a sweet girl. out of the will route, i love how she grows to become this confident young girl who doesn't feel the need to stay by will even if it was her first choice. seeing her with james makes so much sense and if you're on the james route and she picks tom, that make sense too. she sees something in him during the makeover and her seeing that in him and choosing to take a risk is growth.

tom: i haven't had the chance to see cora's route but tom, this poor repressed rich kid needs the friendships in the villa to learn to be who he wants to be. i totally relate to the whole having to be someone else version of you and then finding that freedom to explore...it's liberating. so i don't find it surprising to hear if people think of dating the guy.

bruno: this man is just too soft. his friendship with kobi had me all mushy because he honestly spends all his time trying to help everyone it gives me bobby flashbacks. his puns have me cringing but it's the villa and let's be honest it gave me tim flashbacks. and before everyone goes, so he basically reminds you of other pixels. can we talk about how your partner will happily take you away from the drama? like that was glorious, and definitely, a thumbs up. besides that, he actually talks to you about his worries. i played a lot of his gem scenes and he's not afraid to tell you when he needs some reassurance. and do you know how much this man loves his mum? oh my days, i just swoon.

there's a lot more i can go on about and i'm open to discussing season 4 with anyone. my asks are always open.

Bobby... to this day I can't finish a Bobby route

Lucas and Hope definitely – I just love the idea of them together!

Season 2 hands down. They all look so good and unique, none of that build-your-own-islander stuff that's going on in S5.

Hmm, I'm not sure, but maybe some of the S4 Islanders? Youcef comes to mind...

8. Which Love Interests (LIs) are your favourite? (list as many as you like!)

-Marisol, Lucas, Angie, Youcef, Yasmin, Allegra, Lottie and Noah. If I had to narrow it down further, Marisol’s my favourite female LI, closely followed by Angie, and for male LIs, Lucas is my favourite followed by Youcef.

9. Which non-LIs are your favourite? (list as many as you like!)

I adore Hope! I was also disappointed that Seb, Elladine and Genevieve couldn’t be LIs, so those three too. Lexi is another one I love too.

16. If you could be the Fusebox CEO, what would you change?

There needs to be a better focus on LGBT+ representation. Linking together Marisol and Elisa’s routes is a disservice to them for sure. I’ve seen people resent Marisol for having to go through her to get to Elisa. S3 also had no real variety in the female routes, all were instant love and had more character outside of their routes. For variety, I’d make 1 slow burn LI, one instant love LI and one medium burn LI. Instant love and quick routes very much aren’t my thing, but I’m aware other people have different needs. I play primarily for the female routes, so the minute I heard about how bad Dana’s route in S5 was, I refused to play the entire season for it.

I enjoy having to work for my LI, and much prefer slow burns to instant love. The pay off for Marisol’s route was definitely worth it for me. I love the progression of friends to lovers, or enemies to lovers. There needs to be some kind of journey, falling instantly for someone gets incredibly boring for me. With that in mind, I’d make the routes have more variety. S3 is especially bad for this, they merge into one. I want a couple slow burn LIs, some you’ll need to work for a little bit, and some you won’t have to work for. I’ve definitely got a bigger analysis coming in terms of Marisol’s route, so I’ll save that one up.

24. Pick 3 end-game canon couples and tell us how long you think they lasted after the show

Ooooh okay okay.

Miki and Bill: Would have broken up a few weeks after getting home. I think they'd realize they weren't really that compatible and not really missing each other.

Arjun and Elijah: I think they'd be in it for the long haul. They have very similar personalities. They're both easy going and seem to have a good balance to their friendship (and I assume relationship but we never get to see it, so only speculation). They seem to have similar values. I think they'd have a lot of happy years together.

Thabi and James: Another one I think would stay together for a long time. I don't know if they're a wild, passionate romance, but they are very compatible, gorgeous, and kind. I think they truly like each other and would treat one another with respect and care.

25. What is your most controversial/unpopular LITG opinion?

I answered this here, but I have another one. I think s3 is underrated, especially Boat Party. I've replayed it a bunch while writing my fic, so that may be influencing this opinion, but there is some great dialogue, particularly in Boat Party. The friendship with Seb in BP alone makes it stand out. I think they took a risk with the Boat Party concept and it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it was a cool concept for a reunion with actual stakes. The scene where you reunite with your original LI and finally sleep together again is gorgeous. And the last sex scene your LI whispers "I love you, I love you, I love you" 🥺 And in the last episode of s3, for the scavenger hunt, each LI gives you a different special gift and it's really cute. Tai gives you a piece of his broken pottery 💔

Also the s3 MC is weird and goofy and uber confident. I really really love her.

38. Do you have any opinions (on the story or characters) that have drastically changed since you started playing?

My opinion of Bobby changed very drastically. I thought he was annoying and cringe at first. Then I romanced him and he completely won me over. Same with Arjun, actually.

Youcef I actively disliked at first and by the end of the season I was in love. His sprite is very strange to me with the pursed lips and white hair that seems too big for his head. And I'm not into the model thing. But I love his gradual warm up to MC and he's not sleazy about it, but it's clear he starts to notice and care about MC more. And you get to know more about him and his history. It's a great arc.

I also don't find Gary physically attractive at all. But his route is one of the best ones. His scenes are sexy and funny and charming. So now he's one of my faves.

48. If you could pick any 2 characters from different seasons and swap them into each other’s seasons, who would you pick? Why?

Ah this is so hard!! I guess I'd say I'd swap Angie for Dana. I don't really care about seeing Dana in s4 (maybe her and Will would hit it off though), but I miss Angie SO MUCH in s5. She would not take any of that bullshit. She would absolutely stand up for MC and fuck them up. And then they could fall in love and run off together.

Youcef Route

So I've been asked multiple times through other platforms about the Youcef route. I'm posting here in hopes it finds the right people :)

You do not need to do everything. I will let you know which episodes have the most important choices to unlock his route (34, 35, 36) but if you want as much dialogue/interaction as possible, here's everything. Did I miss something? Maybe, just tell me. But again, most of this is just fluff and does not need to be done for his route to be unlocked! I hope this helps!

THIRSTY EDITION (we're talking DEHYDRATION)

Episode 7 Hot Tub Date. To get all his dialogue, ask him how he got into modeling and of course, kiss him in the gem scene.

Episode 8 Never Have I Ever. When Youcef says he was engaged, choose "I want to hear it!" Why? He'll tell MC she's beautiful. Any time we can get a compliment from this man, we're doing it.

Episode 9 Gym Scene with Hazeem. He's going to decline you here and it's going to hurt but I haven't determined if this adds relationship. It honestly might. Choose "How about Youcef picks me?" (cue "PICK ME, CHOOSE ME, LOVE ME" scene from Grey's Anatomy)

Episode 10 Recoupling. I highly recommend choosing Bruno. This will be the only way you get Youcef for the zipper scene and for the compliment-off. If you couple with James or Najuma, Bruno will be the LI in those scenes.

Episode 13 Massage. Was this one even a question? Of course we're doing this. Added bonus: he'll call MC gorgeous. It doesn't seem to matter if you're flirty or friendly. Whatever you prefer here.

Episode 14 Kiss of Miss. You already know I'm going to tell you to kiss that French model back. Do it once, do it twice. Quench your thirst, it's a long wait for that next kiss.

Episode 15 Juliet & Valentina's Dates. When Youcef is about to go on a date with Juliet, there's a choice for internal thoughts. One of them is "I wish I was going on another date with Youcef" and I honestly think that this might add relationship somehow. Like I said, MC doesn't say it out loud so no harm, no foul.

Episode 23 Most Likely To...

*You can pick Youcef as the best date planner if you want but if you want to win, go ahead and pick Tom. There is no extra dialogue for Youcef if you pick him here anyways.

*If you are coupled with Bruno, yay! Youcef is the one who helps you with the zipper! It's a cute scene. He pulled the zipper up instead of down but hey, we'll take what we can get.

Episode 24 Monarch Party

*IF you are coupled with Bruno, you can choose Youcef to compliment. Bruno just gives a worried look if you tell Youcef he's smoking hot, it does not come back up. If you are coupled with Najuma or James, you will not have this option so no Youcef crumbs for you here.

Episode 31 Bye Juliet and Kobi. When Juliet offers her advice to Youcef and tells him he has high expectations, MC can comment. Choose "It's because he's so handsome!" I do think it adds relationship to him.

Episode 32 Preparing for the "talent" show. Kitchen scene - choose to walk in sexily. Youcef stops and smiles at MC.

Episode 34 Lover's Nook. If you have picked options that give you relationship with him, Youcef will be the one of him, Will and Najuma that asks MC to join them (assuming you are not with Will or Najuma). IMPORTANT CHOICE. Make sure you take his side in the argument. This choice is very, very important. I think I always offer to leave and take his side when Najuma says things.

Episode 35 Outside the Villa, goodbye Kelly. Again, IMPORTANT CHOICE. When Kelly offers her advice, you can say either "You wish he chose you" OR "You're out of line." Neither give negative response from Youcef.

Episode 36 After the game. IMPORTANT CHOICE. Make sure you explain quickly or try to explain. YES, YOU WANT TO GET INVOLVED. I have had people tell me that this choice changed the outcome even though they picked correctly in 34 and 35.

At this point, you should get the following responses if you are on Youcef's route:

Episode 39 poolside with Tiffany (and Bruno). If you are on his route and choose "Honesty is the best policy" he will be flustered and act like he had a realization. If you pick one of the other two, he will say that's a shame and thought you two were on the same page. If you do not get these responses, you are not on his route.

Episode 40 after telling off Dylan. When the islanders bring you breakfast, choose "I love you guys!" and Youcef should blush with Oliver if you're on his route. Same as 39, if you do not get this reaction, you are not on Youcef's route.

Don't get too excited because it's definitely months off even having the first official chapter done, but it's a Love Island inspired IF, as that's kind of what I've always wanted. Even before I knew of LITG or watched the show, I always loved the games with several LIs and always wanted a game to my tastes, and discovering LITG only narrowed down what I wanted.

It's an all bi cast, but there's at least one demisexual character - I've only created 4 characters so far so there's still time for more. Everyone is intended to be an LI, but their routes aren't all open at the start, and some will be a little specific to get. Not as specific as Kassam or Youcef, but their platonic relationship has to hit a certain percentage before you can successfully start cracking on with them. I will admit that the cast will likely be smaller than what I'm after, but as this is my first time doing a game as extensive as this, I don't want to over-extend myself anymore than I already am.

There will be no dumpings at least until the final recoupling - while the public has a say in other things, like who goes on a specific date and with who, the point is for people to fall in love and watch their whole journey. This is actually easier for me coding-wise, but I've also always wanted to see how it would go for characters like Hannah and Rocco if they were in it all the way through.

(also, there will be beach-hut confessionals that affect the public's opinion of you, can help cause drama in challenges, and helps to define your characteristics - make of that what you will)

20. I've heard that a lot of people don't like Gary's route. I actually really enjoyed his route and he's my favorite as you know. I also really enjoyed Oliver I just wish that he would have came in earlier which is what a lot of people were annoyed with.

46. I have a friend in real life that reminds me of Chelsea because she has ADHD like her and tends to go off into her own world sometimes but she's the sweetest person.
