Wedding post part 2! The ceremony!

Crow fidgeted nervously as he awaited his beautiul bride's arrival. It all felt so embarrassing. He wasn't used to so many eyes on him at once. His claws snagged slightly in the lace of his tunic as he anxiously fussed with the hem. He almost missed the guests standing to watch Moon's entrance, but once the harp's first chord rang out, he snapped up to attention.

As soon as he laid eyes on her his anxiety melted into a smile that threatened to tear away his cheek stitching.

Her hair was shining brilliantly in the dappled sunlight, and he could already smell the fresh picked herbs in her hair and bouquet from the other end of the aisle. As she approached, the lovely scent enveloped him and he felt so safe it was as if the crowd had disappeared around them. They sang their vows as their hands were tied with a soft lace. It was only when everyone cheered that Crow remembered they were watching. But she was here with him now and that made all the difference.

And the first dance!

Moon couldn't tear her eyes away from husband as they glided across the dance floor. She loved the way it felt to call him that. Her sweet, loving, beautiful husband. Neither of them would be alone again. They vowed to stay by the other's side as much as possible.

She felt like they were the only two in the world; like they were dancing on a perfect cloud just for them. Crow's strong arms held her close, claws catching in her long hair. It was only when the chandelier came into view that she realized she truly had created a magic cloud under their feet. They giggled to themselves as it drifted them around the room full of loved ones. The guests applauded and hollered at the lovely display. Some of them threw their own magic into the air, adding lovely sparkles and swirls of color to the atmosphere. It would be quite the night to remember.

There are doll companies that have been with us for a long time. Through thick and thin! And still offering your favorite sculpts.

Or, maybe they're not your favorite, but they were dolls that piqued your interest and you notice them every time you see them. "Maybe someday," you might think to yourself. But these brands are ever reliable, always there, so there's no danger of the doll going away.

Is there a doll or company that is an intermittent passing fancy, one to catch your eye when you remember they exist? If all bjd production were to shut down, which doll do you think you'd feel fomo for the most?

i finally got one of the little blind box bjds :D her quality is great ! one of her wing magnets needs glued back in though. but that should be a quick job later. she feels like a vinyl with a good weight, similar to my gurren lagann hello goodsmile figures. speaking of good smile; she'd look good next to nendoroid dolls i think.

also, i fell victim to dde's garage sale and was able to get Paisley/Agnes her heel feet :D now she can wear the boots i bought for her originally. the match is a little off, but it's not too bad. i thought i'd never find her her heel feet very easily since little monica closed...

Hello Tumblr, it's been a while!

We are Emi and Lea, currently going by rsdollatelier on most sns and we haven't been on here for some years! Before we ran three BJD related tumblrs so that was something🤣

We’re already on a lot of sns so this might be an overkill for us, but we want a blog of some sorts and we just weren’t finding a platform fitting us… so here we are!!

For anyone that doesn’t know us from somewhere else;

Hey! We are twins from Iceland that have been in the BJD hobby for over 10 years now. We took a few year hiatus from our dolls as life just got in the way, but we’ve been steadily growing our collection since early 2022💗

We mostly collect SD gals, but we love finding what kind of aestetic suits each doll, dressing them up and sharing their looks on Instagram and now here!

Our current family consists on gals from Peakswoods, Volks, Little Monica, Rosetta doll and Switch and we will work on introducing them all here🫶🏻

Faceup is done! :D Here's Ghost, along with the reference pic I used for his character. I tried a sort of acceptable wig on him too; not the right style at all, but at least it's white??

Unplanned head

I suddenly accidentally got a Little Monica Giselle head because you don't say no to offers like that. Previous owner was offloading her because of unpleasant memories associated with her

This is what the company faceup and blank pics look like:

And this is what I received.

It was a cute freckly face, but I like doing faceups, so it went off to the ultrasonic submerged in a Ziploc bag of alcohol for 10 min as soon as I got it.

It came out mostly clean other than a little extra scrubbing I did in the nostrils and ears.

I tried in different eye base sizes I had on hand to see which I preferred. I tried out 18S, 18mm small iris (6.75mm iris) pictured on the left 👈. The company pics and yellow acrylic eyes it came with were 16N, 16mm normal iris (8mm iris) which is pictured on the right 👉.

I ended up leaning towards the 18S with the smaller iris size. Unfortunately I don't have any premade eyes in that size so I had to make them. I went with different shades of blues.

But half regretting the color choice wondering if I should have gone with a gradient of red, purple, blue which I was also considering

Since i had no plan for this head and it's low stakes, i decided to try out some different techniques. Normally I do blushing then the linework, but I've seen people do line work first then blushing, so i decided to try it out. I also wondered if i could fake an open mouth on a closed mouth head since her lower lip is fairly thick.

Adding the shadow to the lower lip worked i think and I liked the lashes but something wasnt right with the expression.

After looking at it for a while and then also looking at the company faceup pics again. I realized the brow placement was too high.

I can't quite wing brow placement by diving straight into linework it seems. I guess the vertical strokes makes me unconciously stray vertically. so i went back to placing guide blushing for the brow placement again and this time erased a bit of shadowing in the lips to try to draw in some fake teeth.

the blushing placement was right, but again in adding lashes i somehow strayed vertically again so the brow placement was still a tad high. So I lowered brows again and now i think the expression is finally decent.

I got stuck at this faceup stage for like a week due to the rain, so i played around with trying different black wigs.

the straight wig was nice and smooth, but i didn't want to cover the brows i worked so hard on and redid like 3 times so i decided to go with the curly. She'll be an RBF Snow White.

The weather let up finally, so I was able to seal and then move on to the blushing layer last night.

That brings us to today. Now that I've done some of the eye makeup, i'm debating on going back to 16N eyes for the bigger iris... maybe... then i could do the red, purple, blue gradient i considered earlier.. hmmmm. Well... still maybe want to do some more blushing, so we'll see.

WiP - Redoing Lenalee's Uniform - Part 1

As I have said... Lenalee's uniform will be redone once Kanda is through and everyone else is too.

I remade the pattern completely as the old one was too short and overall I have learned a lot to use on the new uniform. I will only recycle the pearls and the buttons from the old one.

For now I test every single step for her as I don't want to repeat the mistakes I made.

For now I had to make everything a bit smaller again but better like that than having to recut parts.

Up to details next and adding the zipper before my most feared part is due again....

Painted my Luts event head from last year 💕

She's currently on a Little Monica body, which is actually quite a good colour match, even though a bit more yellow. (Resin comparison is gonna follow)

Her kdf body shipped today, so I hope it will be here quickly 💕
