Ruby eyes damn near bled FURY in disgusted offense at the seemingly (UNDENIABLY) innocuous and innocent question. Matched by a snarl that bared gritted teeth. “What a FOOLISH notion to even so much as CONSIDER entertaining...” Why were people so enamored with such delusional misperceptions? Content to live on A WING & A PRAYER. As if life might -- What? Take pity on them? That they might get lucky? When would people finally learn that life WASN’T that kind? How many more fathers had to die before they finally realized the turth? That life wasn’t FAIR, prayers were in VAIN, dreams never came TRUE and there was NO SUCH THING as WISHES. “Why would I waste my time WISHING for something to happen when I can just put that time into doing what I’ll inevitably NEED to do to anyway in order to ACTUALLY MAKE it happen?” Eyes rolled. Head shook. “You can LEAVE NOW.” And yet, despite her malicious protests, one little intrusive thought hammered its way through Sae’s hard head and into her STUBBORNLY MISERABLE brain...

The plan to camp out in the Amagi Inn was another one of Chie’s… MORE IMPULSIVE IDEAS. Triggered on by Yukiko’s avoidance of her family’s business in the aftermath of facing her shadow self. It was… DIFFICULT right now. To think about about her future. And what it held. And where it would play out. But Chie had bounced onto the idea that if The Princess and Her Knight were to book out a room for THEMSELVES. It would be more like… A DATE Having a slumber party for two. After dinner, which… Yukiko DID end up helping with. (And still wasn’t sure whether that was a GOOD or a BAD thing.) The duo had retired back to their room. And... WELL… One thing led to another. Namely a thrown pillow intended to STOP YUKIKO FROM LAUGHING becoming a thrown duvet (REVENGE)  becoming… A huge heap of every soft thing in their room in the middle of the floor. A hysterical Yukiko buried beneath them. (IMMATURITY.) “Hey, Chie…?” Trail off from beneath the avalanche of softness. “It’s… actually kind of COZY down here.” And thus that mess of cliche slumber party nonsense became a blanket fort. (So more cliches.) And Yukiko invited Her Knight into Her Castle. “IT’S EVEN COZIER NOW!! Come on, you really have to check this out!” With that she nabbed Chie’s calloused (PERFECT) hands and pulled her in with her. Falling back against the cushions and let out a HAPPY SIGH. “Thank you for pushing me to do this. I wanna do this more…” THAT MUCH she knew to be true. “Maybe even as soon as next week?” And she supposed if nothing else… It meant that her bond with the INN ITSELF was not transient nor worthless.
