is it weird that I'm enjoying the criticism as much as the rave reviews of TTPD? I mean it's been going on for a few albums, but I love how many different opinions there are - and that there are so many, from both the fanbase and non-fans. The only ones I don't understand are the people treating her life/the story like it's the latest religion. "You must abide by these imaginary rules or you're going to be cast out of the temple of worship." kind of stuff. But that's usually more on other platforms. One thing I don't get about fans of Tumblr is the need to constantly rank either songs or albums? I just have a handful of favorite songs (well about two dozen at this point) and don't touch the rest. Ranking 31 new songs? No thank you, most of them won't get more than a handful of listens if my brain doesn't like them the first time around. I will memorize the lyrics for the entertainment aspect, but not spending time listening. And then ranking the ones I've selected as favorites? They just fit completely different moods, I couldn't possibly do that. But the think pieces? Obsessed every time.

Oh i feel you!! I think most online spaces are so polarized about Taylor it's impossible to find middle ground in the sense that you'll either find blogs that defend every questionable thing she does to death or blogs that will despise the fact that she breathed incorrectly. I'm really curious about how critics and neutral audience are perceiving the album, because fan reception to this album in particular is not it for me.
