Nowhere Stars is the least horny magical girl story on the Internet. I am not a kodacon, actually. Though to my more kodacon friends it's about cuteness that they pose.

Though for me, the Shotas I like have a gap moe (and are usually legal). This is why my first favorite "shota" was honey senpai. My favorite gap moe is "looks innocent but will hurt you" and are usually using their "childlike innocence" to for lack of a better term sexually harass the female character. See Dee and Dum from my header, they use their childlike innocence to straight up grope Alice. (Actual lines from the game: "we're children, we need hugs" "we're children, we get frightened at night easily.")

Though I do also enjoy normal age gap romances more than I do any form of onesho/oniloli. (Onee shota and onii Loli. Or older women and a shota/older man and Loli) though I do like happy sugar life and my boy. (An oneloli and onesho respectfully. Even if you're not a kodacon I think you'd enjoy these ones.)

To answer your second question:

Shotas and Lolis are usually 100x more mature than "anime kids".

Kanna is usually group with Lolis, but she is in kindergarten, acts like a kindergarten and even is more coded to be Kobayashi's and Tohru's daughter than a Loli. Most Loli cons don't like her for these reasons, in the same way Anya from SpyXFamily is not a Loli.

Ciel Phantomhive comes to mind, he makes very mature decisions the gap moe is when he starts ACTING like a kid, because he looks sinister and imposing he doesn't look like a 13 year old should. When he starts acting like a child, it's creepy and unsettling. I think Yana did really well in that portrayal.

That's the difference in a Loli and an Anime child. Anime children are usually just acting like children. Lolis and Shotas are usually making more mature decisions.

However and most importantly Loli and Shotas are BODY TYPES, not ages! There are certain things like a Loli personality, but these don't matter because a Loli and Shota is a body type. This is why we have Lolibaba (Loli grandma) and Shotajiji (shotajiji)

I know you don't really write them but I'm curious to know what do you think of rest of Diasomnia?

Well, first of all, I love Sebek, as in I like him more than I like Malleus actually. He's in my top three NRC boys. I love the "arrogant jerk who's actually covering for a deep insecurity" archetype and Sebek is a good example of it. A lot of people dislike him for being annoying and that's understandable, but I think he's really fun. He's so baby. "My outfit is larger than Silver's, Lord Malleus!!!!" literally who cares? He does, he cares a lot. It's adorable. Then there's the stuff with his family, his feelings about being mixed, his insecurity about getting his magic late, all that. Lots to dig into. He's easily the most obviously flawed Diasomnia, though I'd give the title to having the worst flaws to Malleus.

As for Silver, I like him well enough. Book seven has given him a lot of opportunity to show who he is and it's been a nice improvement. Before this part of the story, I was basically neutral on him, though I did like whenever he'd interact with Sebek. He has a lot more going on now and I like the conflict of his people, his biological family, having brought ruin to the Kingdom of Briar, but he devotedly serves the remnants of their royal family. His story became a lot more tragic.

I also ship silsebe, so... I don't really buy the 'they're practically brothers!' protest against it because Sebek has his own family. He didn't live with Silver and Lilia for like years on end, my impression is that he'd live with them for a period and then go home for a while before coming back for more training. It's fine if you don't like a pairing, but you don't need a justification. You can just not like it, I promise.

When it comes to Lilia, before book seven I didn't really like him much. I didn't hate him, but I didn't care for his archetype. I don't like lolibaba/shotajiji trope at all and he was most often just... peepaw. His flaws weren't really obvious and he came off, to me, as a bit too perfect and thus bland. A lot of people loved him from the start, which kinda baffled me, but what he was in the game wasn't enough for me. Now that we've learned more about him, I think he's more interesting. He clearly has issues of his own, like he obviously does not understand how important he is to other people and there's the stuff with Malleus' mom. But I really want some other flaw to be revealed... I need a smidge more. Although, tbh, Malleus is at least in part the way he is because of Lilia, so there's that.

Character flaws are good because they make them interesting and often creates conflict. Rollo is hugely flawed and it helps us as an audience better understand who he is because we as people are also flawed. We might not share the same issues, but we can sympathize or empathize.

In today's episode of underrated hoyoverse men we got su. The ex-doctor and now member of the MOTHS. The only time i heard people mention him was last year when alhaitham and sumeru came out and people speculated him to be the dendro archon. (Boy where they wrong anyway-)

Not a confession but on the topic of shuten my older sister and I agree that she's just an adult with a small chest, because those exist and people tend to forget that alot, my sister was one till she got pregnant and got mistaken for a boy alot in highschool, kinda like Haruhi from Ouran when she was first introduced or mistaken for younger then she actually was because of our short genes. Chapters 1-16

[Insert isekai startup here] but this time the guy gets genderbent and tries to live a solo life with OP creation magic. MC is honestly funni to watch in hijinks like avoiding a love triangle with a guy and getting hopelessly addicted to masturbating. Slice of life with good jokes, good art, good ecchi, and a good MC. THUMBS UP.

Dorei Tensei: Sono Dorei, Saikyou no Moto Ouji ni Tsuki

Chapters 1-32

THUMBS DOWN. [Insert reincarnation startup here] but this time the OP mage with a weak body reincarnates into a strong body but has to be a slave. The main issue with this story is that its two main draws, 1. I am now a slave and have to answer to someone and 2. My body that I reincarnated from is alive and doing evil. Have absolutely NOTHING to do with each other. As a matter of fact, they just get in each other’s way. The person MC is a slave to actually respects his power and lets him essentially do whatever he wants to the point of really asking why the writer included all the slavery stuff. The manga is always just doing stuff with no foreseeable connection to anything without being interesting enough in its day-to-day to tithe over to the actual mystery uncovering.

HIRAHEISHI WA KAKO O YUMEMIRU

Chapters 1-52

This one is oddly bad. [Insert reincarnation startup here] but this time MC wasn’t shit, reached a bad end, and goes back in time to when he was a child. So now the MC uses his knowledge of the future to try and train humanity to be stronger to beat the invading demons this time. Problem is, this manga is boring. Unbelievably boring. The MC isn’t that strong so he never does anything particularly impressive other than summoning his get out of jail free demon waifu, the romance isn’t straight enough and isn’t gay enough at the same time, side characters from the village appear alot but don’t have any iconic personality establishing moments so they all blend together except future general and childhood bestfriend girl, etc etc. The manga manages to always feel like something big and important is ABOUT to happen but then it doesn’t so ???. A mystery manga where nothing interesting ever happens until something is revealed but nothing have ever been revealed so uh. Super lame and I kinda hate it. THUMBS DOWN.

Death Attribute Magician

Chapters 1-25

[Insert isekai startup here] but this time [insert edgy revenge story here] but then [insert isekai startup here]. Surprisingly convoluted startup and setup for the far future, but this ends up as a shotasekai that is surprisingly good. Despite the MC, Vandalieu, having invented death magic, he is a literal baby dhampir that has to survive in a world where both humans and vampires want him dead. It is heart warming that despite the hell the MC has gone through, he is not an edgy person at all and is a cute and good boy. Writing surprisingly good, especially of note is the whole ghoul kingdom. Lots of goods and cutes and a whole backstory chapter was setup and made me want it prior to it occuring. Nice. Mysteries present in both the short and long term make me want to read more. Favorite joke is when it looks like he is fucking the lolibaba ghoul chief. THUMBS UP.

Tensei Shitara dai Nana Ouji dattanode, Kimamani Majutsu o Kiwamemasu

Chapters 1-48

[Insert reincarnation setup here] but this time the shota is dedicated to magic. Like dedicated, dedicated. Always takes the most direct path to magic and is willing to strongarm people into getting new magic. Art is loose and focused on showing off impressive magic feats AND ALSO sexy shota MC. Extremely cultured art of apathy-type shota. Good use of color to amplify magic in fight scenes. THUMBS UP. Also the Jade arc is pretty tragic and also cool. Only downside of the manga might be its lack of end game and therefore lack of ongoing theme. But its top tier in everything else.

Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru

Chapters 1-12

Even though this is an isekai, the setup here is actually the most interesting part. The world’s best assassin retires, so obviously there is a hit on him. He dies and the goddess of another world hires him to do a hit on her world. A hit against the hero. So yes the MC is a semi-cold blooded killer for good reason, but also takes steps towards being more human in the way he treats the people around him. Very serious, but not that dark. Even has a harem in it. THUMBS UP. 

Realist Maou Niyoru Seiiki Naki Isekai Kaikaku

Chapters 1-23

[Insert isekai startup demon lord redux here] but this time his power is “keeping it real.” Pretty lame power, he just does things smartly? Thats really all it means by realist; he just isn’t dumb and prioritizes his own victory over old fashioned ideals and honor. The story is really interesting in its summoning aspect which is pretty much a gacha. Sacrifice a weapon that comes from Earth and you can summon up some legend like Jeanne D Arc. She is absolutely adorable in this manga. Summons have good characterization, so thats the best point of this manga. THUMB IN UPPER CORNER.

Hazure Waku no Joutai Ijou Skill de Saikyou ni Natta Ore ga Subete wo Juurin Suru made

Chapters 1-19

THUMBS DOWN. [Insert isekai edgy revenge redux here] but this time he uses status ailments. Eh I guess at least the MC isn’t evil here so thats something. The world is still cartoonishly evil so. Really hate how the elf girl is treated, with every bad guy out to rape her because she is like some “untouchably pretty virgin flower.” Pretty gross. 

Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekake-chuu

Chapters 1-42

This manga is if Overlord was ONLY the parts where Ainz was running around as the adventurer Momon. Story gets up points for having slavery and being actively anti-slavery. Kinda lame evil-for-evil’s sake villains that act only in direct ways though. Nothing bad about this manga, but its missing spice for me personally. THUMB IN UPPER CORNER. 

Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita

Chapters 1-46

First off, this manga’s art is amazing. Just flat out top tier art. It always looks good. [Insert isekai startup here] but this time he is a sword and ends up saving a young black cat slave girl named Fran. Fran is absolutely adorable, driven, and bloodthirsty in all the ways you expect from a child. Her inherited goal from her parents at her back as well as her isekai’d sword master make for a duo you just want to see succeed. Ontop of that great personalities for characters, especially the eccentric necromancer Jean Dovy and child loving Amanda. Power pacing makes the MC and Fran feel overpowered for their situation while there constantly being stronger enemies out there that back them into a corner. Arcs lead into each other sensibly with proper foreshadowing. Jokes don’t miss and are sometimes foreshadowing in their own right. An overall well-constructed adventure story with budding themes to boot. In the end might be one of my favorite manga. Only bad thing about it is it’s title. THUMBS UP.

Nito no Taidana Isekai Shoukougun: Saijaku Shoku "Healer" nano ni Saikyou wa Cheat desu ka?

Chapters 1-12

THUMBS DOWN. [Insert isekai revenge redux startup here] but this time... the manga completely bounced off my conciousness. Only uniqueness it may claim is a revenge manga where the revenger is moral good person. Other than that the art is underwhelming and so forgettable I nearly forgot I read this. Nothing going for this one.

Eiyuu no Musume toshite Umarekawatta Eiyuu wa Futatabi Eiyuu wo Mezasu

Chapters 1-END

This manga is really annoying because its concept set it up for alot but then... it does nothing most of the time or is bad. Concept being that Reid, one of the legendary six heroes, dies doing some good and gets reincarnated as the opposite gender, a girl, and as the daughter to two of his former colleagues. It’s start is really strong but it just lacks plot and blows its lore load too early. Reid wants to be a shining hero this time instead of the shadowy wire assassin he was previously. Ok. There is no plot, no antagonistic force, so he isn’t pushed hard to grow. Ontop of that the other part of the story, how Reid’s other friends from his previous life are and those relationships sorta just happen all at once and aren’t arcs in and of themselves. This manga really bums me out to give a THUMBS DOWN to because it could have been great.

Majo no Geboku to Maou no Tsuno

Chapter 1-78

This manga is a masterwork. THUMBS UP. This manga is actually a 10/10 in the making for me. It is a brilliantly set-up genderbend manga with a clear goal that is always being worked towards. Get those horns. But every single step of the way, interesting, goofy, fun, and lovable characters get added on to the story and it turns into a hilarious manga. And yet all the hilarious genderbend hijinks never get offensive. Plenty of characters in the story flip gender and have a wide variety of different and accepted opinions on their gender that it is truly amazing to watch it all come together. A touching and hilarious magic manga about people’s bodies, love, religion, and general respect for other sentient entities regardless of their circumstances. Reading the whole thing lead up to such an emotional high that it evokes tears of happiness. Also the MC is a catholic hispanic man named Arsenio and that is SUCH a cool name.
